Evening all,

Yay - DD's baby gym delivered today and she actually likes it . At last something amuses her - hope am not speaking too soon.

Trace Nice to see you here - was also told by HV that cd use Calpol after jags even though LO under recommended age (also only 8lb 7 so not big baby).

Bumper My DD's feeding going downhill. Sometimes will latch & feed beautifully but other times even tho is screaming for a feed she will tug at nipple, spit it out & suck it back in, shake her head around etc like you described. It started just on the left but now will do it with both sides. It bloody hurts & think it has caused the white nipple thing. Think either she is not getting enough out or she is not really hungry but wants to suck so mucks about. BF adviser just told me to keep switching sides when she does it but is very frustrating. I want to tell DD to 'shit or get off the pan' but fear it wouldn't be motherly

trace2 · 07/08/2007 18:51

she was 8 weeks yesterday, but was only 5 lb 8 oz when born full term, lol at you did you taste it to?

trace2 · 07/08/2007 18:54

hi TALLULAHBELLE thank you its nice to be here, i now feel like i want to join in, i always lurked but never put any thing.

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/08/2007 19:25

quick one as dd is also inconsolable after jabs...

calpol given, waiting for it to kick in.

trace...instructions on calpol bottle say baby needs to be at least 2 months, weigh at least 4kg and not have been a premature baby.

just when i think she's settled she goes off again....aargh.

I've only had this for 3/4 of an hour....respect to those of you whose babies do this a lot

trace2 · 07/08/2007 19:42

hope dd is ok soon daisy! well they gave herparacetomal in hospital

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/08/2007 19:45

God this is horrible. she's settled a bit now but is so pale she's almost transparent and is just whimpering in pain. and the look in her eyes

I'm sitting here in my jeans with her in just a nappy, and have been running around the house looking for the calpol and have closed the blinds like this. i'm sure the neighbours have had a good eyeful of my wobbly belly and norks, LOL.

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/08/2007 19:50

i'm sure it'll be fine then trace. the warnings on the packet are to filter out the numpties that want to give it to their newborns!

DS was given some in hospital once and they worked out the dose based on his weight. It was 50% more than that on the packet.

how is Chloe today?

Hi JBM....not "seen" you for ages. hope things are going well.

tallulah, I'm still coming up to scotland but not sure I'll make it to Glasgow....my mum hasn't been too well so I'll need to see how things are. can you e-mail me on daisybump at yahoo dot co dot uk and I'll send you my mobile number.

trendaverter · 07/08/2007 19:52

Daisy poor Babyboo
Hope the calpol helps

trace2 · 07/08/2007 19:56

hope shes ok soon i hate to see them ill lol daisy about you running round in just jeans

trace2 · 07/08/2007 19:57

chloe is not having as big episoids now but still very scarry,, but now she wont settle inbetween feeds and as green poo

Jamantha · 07/08/2007 20:03

Daisy, hope your LO settles OK. Mine sobbed for ages, well seemed like ages, prob about half hour after the calpol, then settled down with occasional whimpers. After another 20 mins I tried to feed her, but she couldn't be bothered to take much from me, so gave her a bottle of formula and she went down straight away. Keep hearing odd moans and whimpers but nothing major since. Am sure she'll start hollering just as I serve dinner though

As for showing off to the neighbours, I sit and feed LO on the sofa opposite the living room window. I'm sure the old guy across the road must have seen, and maybe the school kids on their way home? Can't be doing with keep closing the curtains though.

Seansgirl · 07/08/2007 20:04

Daisy, poor Babyboo, hope she feels better soon.

TA! Glad to hear that you have gavison and some glimmer of hope. I had a call from my HV today saying she had discussed DS case/symptoms with the feeding specialist and she said he sounded like a classic case of reflux and has said I should go to GP (appointment tomorrow at 11.10) and ask for gavison, and see heow he goes from there. she did say that he will have to switch back to regular formula as I now have him on comfort digest formula. So fingers crossed. My Mum has spoken to my aunt today who said her DS had reflux (i had no idea we are not close and that on gavison & with a dummy! he was like a new baby!!)

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/08/2007 20:13

katierocket earlier mentioned green poo in connection with milk allergy?

babyboo is now sleeping fitfully on top of me, but she is full of snot now after her crying and is snoring, bless.

don't think I'm going anywhere this evening....

...leaving you all with horrible image of topless wobbly boobed woman pinned to sofa by 9 week old baby

don't remember DS being like this with his jabs, but there was only one jab back then, not one in each leg.

loonylovegood · 07/08/2007 20:19

Awww daisy, hope she's ok now! I hated taking dd to have her injections, dp would never go with me because of his blood/injection phobia. I had to get my mum to come with me for the last set because I was so traumatised by the whole process! I'm sure she'll be fine tomorrow, poor little lamb!

Both my dcs are asleep! Hooray! I'm now trying to find out how to make a website. It seems complex and I'm not sure my brain can handle it!

OP posts:
trace2 · 07/08/2007 20:19

yes ds was milk allergy when he was little just taking jack to bed ((hugs to your dd))

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/08/2007 20:20

hi jamantha and SG.

glad things are getting sorted for you SG. It sounds like reflux is pretty common by the number of babies here affected by it. I'm sure DS must have had it to some exten as he used to projectile vomit after every feed. It stopped around 9 mo which seems to be the cut off point for reflux problems from what I've read.

tallulah...babyboo is doing similar things with feeding. i spoke to the hv today and she said that it's common around this age and will pass. she said to be firm and take her off if mucking about and give it a minute before putting her back on.

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/08/2007 20:22

oooh holly, why do you need a website?

how is DH's new job btw...i did manage to read when skimming through last week that he got the job.

loonylovegood · 07/08/2007 20:28

He started the job yesterday so he's not really sure about it yet, but at least it's something and we have a car. He is moaning about the car though, it's not as good as the last one. He used to have a swanky top of the range vectra that went like shit off a shovel, now he's got a laguna and it hasn't got as much oomph! Oh well, it means he won't drive like a complete loon!

I'm thinking of setting up a price comparison site for baby gear as I'm really good at finding bargains. I am quite good at techy stuff, but I really can't get my head round how to do a website. It is v confusing!

TALLULAHBELLE · 07/08/2007 20:31

Daisy - have e mailed my moby no to you. Hope your wee one better soon. Got to take my DD for hers next week. Not looking forward to it at all.

The feeding thing soooo frustrating, just as I've solved one issue a new one rears its ugly head. Expected that after 7 weeks it wouldn't hurt anymore. Don't think I'll be making it to 6 months - my first target was 6 weeks am now aiming for 3 months, am I just torturing myself?

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/08/2007 20:34

you need badzelda...isn't she a web guru?

and hey, we have a laguna!

tis a rattly french crock of sh1t though

where's foxy at the mo? not seen her about over the last few days.

loonylovegood · 07/08/2007 20:42

Right, I have bought my Organised Mum calendar. So starting next month I am going to be a good, organised person and not forget stuff! Well that's the idea anyway!

I've only been in the laguna once so far, but it seems ok. It is french though so will prob fall apart quite soon! It is due it's MOT in about 6 months so dp will prob get a new car then, most companies don't let their company cars go past 3 years.

Maybe she's lurking...FOXY ARE YOU THERE?
I've mostly been lurking lately, I've never got any very interesting things to say!

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 07/08/2007 20:43

ikwym tallulah. I'm not enjoying it at all at the moment and under pressure from all sides about changing to formula. I'm taking it one day at a time tbh...and telling myself it wil; get better.

I was watching a woman feed her baby at the clinic today. she did it so effortlessly and o-one even noticed apart from me i don't think. her baby was about 9mo though and i was sat there trying to work out how many more feeds than me she'd gone through.

I must get back to the Baby Cafe...

I've just realised my washing is still out. Ah well it'll be there for a while...i think bringing it in half nude with an infant hanging on my arm will be too too much for the neighbours

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/08/2007 20:45

oooh holly i was so tempted by one of those. they do a lovely leather bound diary which i could stroke!

loonylovegood · 07/08/2007 20:49

I never really enjoyed feeding dd, but I'd have felt so guilty about stopping before a year that I carried on! I am quite stubborn! I am def a natural when it comes to giving birth, but not when it comes to bfing! I certainly don't enjoy feeding ds, every time he latches on it feels like he is about to suck my whole body through my nipple! OWWW!

Leave the washing out daisy! I do it all the time! I really do need the organised mum calendar !

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 07/08/2007 20:50

I loved the diary daisy, but I know that it would get lost/covered in juice/torn by dd/generally ruined, so I chose the calendar. Hope it works, I really need some order in my life!
