T - does it stay white or just comes out of lo's mouth white? Mine does the latter, and I was fearing thrush so used Daktarin which you can buy over the counter (I washed it off before feeding). Have decided I don't have it now, but I do have quite a deep but small crack which is causing the pain. Am using lansinoh and using an Avent breast shell. Seems to help a bit.

lilQuidditchKel · 31/07/2007 15:05

Thanks Annobal what time will you be meeting, and where at the museum? I might be able to make the 16th if it's in the morning!

TALLULAHBELLE · 31/07/2007 15:32

Foxy -seems to go white after feed is over, maybe after 5 min or so.Then pinks up again after wee while. Odd !? Thought of thrush but no white spots on LO's mouth. Not sure about other signs.

foxybrown · 31/07/2007 15:41

T - lo might not have it yet. Probably best to see your GP just in case. Its really painful if you do get it.

Lilkel - I can do 16th and could aim for 10.30/11? Can only AIM for, can't guarantee I'll make it. Took me an age to get out the house this morning.

I'm always late!

Charlie, am with you on the ranting at (deserving) strangers! Or, if I'm having to make a phone call to say, the insurance company or council, I'll just start chatting randomly in desperation to talk to an adult about anything!

justbeme · 31/07/2007 15:42

Hi all - just had the HV call and Lucys put on over 7oz so just over 9lb.
Had the night from hell 2 nights ago - unable to settle her until 0245, (and even the hairdryer noise wouldnt pacify her Foxy!!)
and then last night she was as good as gold - I think she maybe had too much sleep in the daytime on the "bad" day, but if I try and wake her up I get no where - Dont know how you mums who are trying out routines wake your Lo's?

foxybrown · 31/07/2007 15:46

well done on the weight gain JBM! Sounds like you are doing really well. (Just remembered I was going to get LO weighed today ... and obviously I forgot - oops!)

Eve sleeps a lot. I change her nappy or tickle her feet to wake her up. But she feeds and dozes off again. Still, she's not even 3 weeks old yet, so am not worrying about routines as such. Trying to hold out until she is 6 weeks. If my sanity allows.

justbeme · 31/07/2007 16:03

Oh its Daisy isnt it who's trying a routine?
She's picked a nice week to go on holiday hasnt she?
Mind you, Ive ventured out into the garden earlier and was going to go and see how my little veggie patch was and lying across a narrow path is a freshly dead RAT (must have taken the poison) - a la flies!!
Ive had to throw an upside down bowl over it to hide it as the thought of my dog getting his paws on it!! So am waiting on my dp to get home to dispose of!!
Im going to be petrified to pick my lettuce now !! - dont know what i might find!!

foxybrown · 31/07/2007 16:53

eeeuuurghhhh! yes, definately a 'blue' job, that one!

bumperlicious · 31/07/2007 16:58

Tallulah the nipple thing is vasospasm, it's a form of reynauds syndrome (your extremities go white and numb). Check out kellymom for more details. Oh, nd have you tried swaddling to stop LO from startling herself awake? (oh, just seen annobal recommended the same thing!)

bumperlicious · 31/07/2007 17:01

Yay! We have water again!!!!!! Not suitable for drinking, cooking or washing up yet, but I can have a bath and do some laundry !

justbeme · 31/07/2007 17:04

Dead rat going in bonfire as we speak - but my dogs barking at another one and I heard it squeak as dp tried to bash it!!!!! (sorry animal lovers!!) - btw i couldnt have bashed it - but you know what men are like

justbeme · 31/07/2007 17:08

thank goodness for that Bumper!! makes you realise how lucky we are

bumperlicious · 31/07/2007 17:09

I know, you don't realise how much you rely on it. You have mail btw! Right, this one wants feeding AGAIN! I am a milking machine! Better start seeing that weight loss soon!

justbeme · 31/07/2007 17:13

I weighed myself today - looks like im only 7 or so pounds over my pre pg weight - pls some 1 tell me thats good?? Hopefully it will fall away with BF?

foxybrown · 31/07/2007 17:19

JBM - thats great! Should just fall off now! And with all that dog walking and gardening, you'll have no problem!

Have 2 say I too only put on half a stone in pg - but had 7 pounds to lose before anyway, but still its perfectly manageable. Trouble is, I've always packed it on during breastfeeding - on account of scoffing quick fix high sugar foods, or comfort eating as i spend hours on my arse. Am determined not to do it this time. Will be heading to my first Weightwatchers meeting as soon as school starts again.

justbeme · 31/07/2007 17:25

Foxy - you put on only half a stone when Pg?? -
I put on about 2 stone - so am quite pleased theres only 7lb left!!

No wonder your birth was so easy - I keep remembering you saying that you "sat in the bath very still waiting for the midwife to arrive" - and then i compare it with me shrieking my head off writhing about!!

foxybrown · 31/07/2007 17:27

Well, 7 pounds left after she was born, bloating went down etc.

Its steadily creeping up now

foxybrown · 31/07/2007 17:29

and I only sat still because I was too petrified to move, every time I did I had another contraction. DP would have made a crap MW! LOL!

bumperlicious · 31/07/2007 17:46

I have a stone to get to pre-pg weight and even then was probably a good 10lbs over my ideal. Like you foxy weight creeping up again due to eating so much whilst bfing/bored!

foxybrown · 31/07/2007 17:55

Thats alright Bumper! I had over 2 stone to lose last time when I had DD1. Took forever, but it was soooo worth it.

bumperlicious · 31/07/2007 18:09

Pre-pg I was so healthy and had lots of restraint, and was pretty fit. Today I ate nearly a whole box of lindt lindor and got a stitch pushing the pram to the park! I'm good once I get going but I just need to get out of this rut.

annobal · 31/07/2007 18:14

I wouldn't have a clue how much I put on while pg but definitely need to lose some now. I have until the end of Sept when my mum and dad get here (my mum is super skinny - why do we always care what they think so much .

I don't know if I can make it quite so early on 16th but will definitely be there.

foxybrown · 31/07/2007 18:55

I know what you mean annobal - mums opinion still counts.

I'll aim early to meet up with Lilkel, if she can't do afternoon. Have also emailed BadZelda who's keen too. I will bail if its raining though - I have a phobia of indoor spaces with my 3 children. Otherwise, picnic?

Bumper, now the weathers picked up we'll hopefully all be out pounding the pavements and the pounds off!

sputnik · 31/07/2007 18:56

I must beat you all hands down as I'm abouot 20 pounds over my pre pg weight. I've started to exerise again so hopefully will start to shift it, or I'll be seriously annoyed

sputnik · 31/07/2007 18:59

My mum's pretty fat so that doesn't bother me. However I'm going on holiday with my sister in september and she's quite slim. At least it's giving me some motivation.

of all you lot meeting up. Anyone coming to rome?
