Charlie999 · 31/07/2007 11:09

Morning all

You're not the only one Andiem - know how that feels (I was 18 when my mum was my age ) don't worry bout it!

Bumper - hope BF group goes well - presumably you're all in the same position re water supply . hope its back up soon - even if you need to boil it for drinking, at least you can have a shower, do washing etc

TA - hope you have a good journey back and LO sleeps

Welcome Vole - I am in a similar position re RL friends - they all have small ones as well so when I apologise profusely for not being in touch, they totally understand.

Just chased the postman up the road as he knocked on the door when I was upstairs dressing DD and didn't wait and buggered off leaving a card to collect 2 parcels. You can tell I'm off the ADs as he went away with a flea in his ear! Bloody postman! And another bloody strike tomorrow .

Got a very whingy (?sp) DD this morning .Why can't she just go to sleep - she is SO tired. Going to have a cuddle with mummy now

bumperlicious · 31/07/2007 11:25

Grrr, I'm having a bad day

Bf group cancelled coz of frikkin water situation so that is my only hope of adult conversation today out of the window. Then a daddy long legs flew into my car - I HATE them! DH put the car front seat forward so I could get the seat in, and took the sunshade off which I didn't realise until I was moving and the sun in DD's eyes. He doesn't realise how awkward simple things are when you are on your own. I'm bored, tired and generally fed up. For no particular reason! And poor DD is just kicking around on her baby gym getting bored while I whinge on here. And I am starving despite eating cereal, an english muffin and two biscuits so far. Think I'm going to go and have my lunch now!

Sorry for the rant, I'm just tired and could do with a nice long bath!

Charlie999 · 31/07/2007 11:27

Awww Bumper rant away......why don't you go shopping? That always cheers me up.

Have you heard from the water company?

bumperlicious · 31/07/2007 11:31

Hopefully reconnected in the next 24hours. I would love to go shopping but then I would just spend money which I don't have! Plus there is nowhere to feed/change DD in town as all the cafes/restaurants shut. Might go for a walk in the park to try and shake this bad mood. Irrationally angry at DH and taking it out on him over the phone so need to get a grip before he gets home!

Charlie999 · 31/07/2007 11:36

Yeah some fresh air will do you the world of good - nice and sunny here - so may do the same

I do the same with my DH - I wrote a text message to him about the postman this morning and it started off "the fucking postman has left a fucking card and didn't ring the fucking doorbell....." It didn't get sent as I caught up with the postman first!!

It this being indoors on my own for day after day that does it - no-one else to moan at ...unless of course you count the receptionist at the doctors

Oh DD is crying AGAIN - she is incapable of sleeping more thank 10 minutes today

Charlie999 · 31/07/2007 11:38

Ohhh I wish I could strap the dummy to her head sometimes.......

bumperlicious · 31/07/2007 11:46

I'd try duct tape Charlie...!

Charlie999 · 31/07/2007 11:48

God don't tempt me....why do they fight it so much?

bumperlicious · 31/07/2007 11:49

Bless her - I love it when she's asleep! Now, what can I eat next...?

Charlie999 · 31/07/2007 11:49

All she has to do is close her eyes and drift off - there she goes again

bumperlicious · 31/07/2007 11:53

I've got some Tomy tippee closer to nature dummies, she seems to keep them in marginally better, either because of the shape or because they are bigger (0-6m instead of 0-3). They are hideous! But she seems to be able to keep them in better. Daisy recommended them.

bumperlicious · 31/07/2007 11:54

Right, she's not settling so I am going to go to the park via waitrose to buy something yummy to eat and maybe a trashy mag!

Have a good day charlie. Hope you get out too

TALLULAHBELLE · 31/07/2007 12:33

Oh good - so its not just me with a whinging, screaming wee one who point blank refuses to sleep even tho is obviously exhausted. Her eyes close, she begins to drift off then actually shakes herself awake again -aarrggggh.

Can someone remind me about the white nipple thing, think it was Bumper that mentioned it. My nip throbs & burns after a feed & the tip goes white. Think it was a symptom of smth but can't remember what.

annobal · 31/07/2007 13:09

I CAN do this. I've just gotten back from Sainsbury's and the park - done my weekly shop and had lunch out with all 3 boys. I now have 2 sleeping ones and the other watching Peppa Pig. I'm feeling very pleased with myself

Right - off to catch up, tidy the house as we've friends coming for supper and eat something before they all wake up and the afternoon goes tits up!

annobal · 31/07/2007 13:24

TB - not sure about the white nipple thing (could it be dry? have you been putting lanisoh or something like that on it? MW recommended olive oil), but have you tried swaddling for the falling asleep thing?

annobal · 31/07/2007 13:25

Bumper, you're right about Dirt - didn't get to watch the end last night but it seems every time I watch it, Courteney Cox is masturbating

foxybrown · 31/07/2007 14:11

OMG! Annobal - am in awe of you (and wondering if you are slightly mad ).

You are very brave indeed!

Right off to catch up

foxybrown · 31/07/2007 14:30

Double awe Annobal - just saw you have friends coming for dinner ! RL friends, socialising and cooking for other people?! BTW, in answer to your question last night, we went to the dentist. Nothing exciting or interesting!

Hello Vole and welcome!

Don't underestimate the power of fresh air, Bumper. Its very important to get out once a day.

Sorry everyone's having a crappy day. Its all so unpredictable isn't it? Eve is asleep in her car seat. And if the drier's on too she falls asleep no problem. Obviously I can't recommend it, as sleeping in car seats is not recommended, and having the drier on on a day like today is morally wrong.

annobal · 31/07/2007 14:36

No awe needed Foxy, I find it much easier if ds' have friends over - i'll encourage out door play so there will be less to tidy . I really don't know how you do the 4 kids thing - i'm finding 3 hard enough work (esp as ds2 is still getting up at 5.30, usually just after ds3 has fed at 4.30 .

annobal · 31/07/2007 14:37

lol at the drier. ds3 seems to have put himself in the clbb routine today. i'm going to run with this one

lilQuidditchKel · 31/07/2007 14:42

Hello! Sorry been AWOL a while. Funny how a month can pass when you've got 2 to look after. (Insert emoticon for those with 3 or more...)

So where is this meetup then? Anywhere near London?

How much are your (FF) lo's eating at one go now? My DD just wolfed down 8oz. DH is relieved we won't be facing size 0 issues. Ha ha

annobal · 31/07/2007 14:45

Hi Lilkel. Meet up is at Hornimans Museum in Dulwich on 16th or 29th August (or both if you fancy). hope you can make it

TALLULAHBELLE · 31/07/2007 14:58

Annobal - WOW is all I can say. I haven't got over the door yet & have been planning to get out with the pram since 11am.

Have been using lasinoh -is that good or bad for the white nipple thing? Swaddling seems to help at night but for last few weeks LO just seems to have decided that morning & afternoon naps are not necessary & the only thing that will get her to sleep is a trip out in the pram. Gives her a rest but I can't nap or get anything done.
