Cheers Foxy. Just hoping we can keep up the pace - without my nips actually falling off!

Charlie999 · 28/07/2007 15:08

Heelo Foxy and Tallulah and anyone lurking

DD had first night in her own bedroom last night and it was great. Went up at 10.30pm. Woke at 4am for a feed then at 8.30am (ooohhh, todays routine out of the window then )

We bought a Winnie the pooh thing that attaches to her cot which is sound activated, so me and DH kept waking up listening to the winnie theme tune - great! Seemed to do the trick though!

Having a nightmare myself. 8 weeks post c-section, still bleeding and waiting for scan. Then bloods done Thursday have come back with low sodium levels. Doctors called me in urgently last night, then doctor sat on my doorstep last night till 8pm when I came home from walking the dog .

Turns out low sodium levels are dangerous - got to restrict fluid intake to 500mls A DAY and increase salt intake (I hate salt but have just had 2 bacon rolls ) and go to A&E if I feel ill . Also had to stop taking the ADs. Went to hosp to have more blood taken this morning and then again Monday. Am now paranoid and feeling more anxious than usual - esp now I can't take any more ADs . What a fucking nightmare!

Sorry selfish long post - but am NOT happy - really must change my GP when this is sorted. When I googled it, it is scary stuff, but I did see interuterine surgery mentioned, so I am hoping its all to do with section.

Well, off to Bluewater to cheer myself up.....speak later x

Hope everyone is having good day....

foxybrown · 28/07/2007 17:15

Charlie - that sounds a bit scary. Are you OK?

Never worry about 'selfish rants', no one will think you selfish and we are always happy to listen to rants (mine are usually about my DP!). That's the beauty of MN!

Rant away!

Hope you had a productive day at Bluewater and feel a bit better

andiem · 28/07/2007 18:42

Charlie sorry to hear you are unwell hope they get it sorted pronto. Glad to hear some retail therapy was in order always up for some of that.......

bumperlicious · 28/07/2007 19:38

Hi all, not caught up yet, but just got back home before the next lot of rains come gushing! No running water so what's the first thing DD does, wee everywhere!

Got a lovely clean house courtesy of DH, he's so pleased to have us back. Don't know how we are going to manage or when the water is back on, but couldn't stay at my mum's any longer! There's absolutely no room and just glad to be back around my own stuff.

My mum was really funny this morning, a telesales guy called her a couple of days ago trying to get her to switch credit cards or something, and she told him to call back and let her think about it. he called her back today and she said she had thought about it and didn't want to and he said "well I wish you had mentioned that earlier when I called before" WTF! Anyway she called him passive aggressive and proceeded to lecture him down the phone saying she didn't like his attitude! She's such a psychotherapist!

bumperlicious · 28/07/2007 19:47

Charlie, hope you managed to cheer yourself up with a bit of retail therapy! Sorry you are having a crap time. I bet you will be fine without the ADs, and if not then you have us here - you won't need to go out! Serious though, we are here for you to rant or be anxious. Thinking of you

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 28/07/2007 20:55

Hello Ladies!

I just wanted to share something with you tonight....
My DH is a plank!
I've started to express and top up the evening feeds with formula so that DH can help out / do more / bond more etc, but he refuses to give the bottles in a nice quiet place in order to get lo all chilled out and ready for sleep, he wont tear himself away from the tv (where he is usually watching something very loud) in the living room with the light on etc! But then he wonders why lo still has his eyes wide open after he's finished and been burped?? Durr!
The cheeky shit tried to hand lo over to me tonight to settle to sleep - so I'm hiding in my office on my computer cos he's got lo all stimulated - he can settle him down again!

sputnik · 28/07/2007 21:16

good strategy DKMA
Hows things?

Charlie999 · 28/07/2007 22:08

Hi girls - quiet on here tonight!

Trip to Bluewater was just what I needed - spent loads and got DD lots of stuff in the sales. Didn't get there till 4.30 and just got home - but the best time of the day to go! Sat in John Lewis and fed DD and she filled her nappy in there - lovely for those eating their dinner!

I'm SO BLOODY THIRSTY . How can anyone drink only 500ml a day? The only thing I like salt on is chips !

Oh well, didn't come home to any messages from the doctor or hospital, so assume no news is good news!

Hope you've had a good day - and bet you sleep well in your own bed Bumper

trendaverter · 29/07/2007 08:03

Morning all,
Sorry to hear your rant Charlie, sounds like a pain in the arse. I only have a cold and I feel rotten.

Can I ask why the meet up is at the Horniman museum?

andiem · 29/07/2007 08:35

Morning all

not sure TA someone suggested it as is good for kids with lots to do and they can run around also has cafe

trendaverter · 29/07/2007 10:06

fair enough!
I looked at the map and thought it was off the radar a bit, but looks fine!

Charlie999 · 29/07/2007 10:18

Morning TA and Andiem

Good nights sleep?

Are you still at your mum's TA?

dm1 · 29/07/2007 11:13

Hi all,
Never get time to read everything but Charlie - ow - pleased Bluewater took your mind off things. It's practically a weekly excursion at the mo for me. Agree the feeding and changing is great plus lots of lifts. If anyone else has got slightly older children , this week they've got 3 kidszones with free face painting and craft tables in the afternoons.

TALLULAHBELLE · 29/07/2007 11:38

Poor you Charlie - when do you get blood results? Good excuse to eat lots of chips - every cloud

foxybrown · 29/07/2007 11:41

hello, hope you are all well today!

Glad you are home safe and sound Bumper. How long until services are resumed as normal?

Hope everyone else is OK. Nothing to report from me. Had a fairly decent sleep (only up at 12.30, 4, 7 and 8) with two children in my bed, one sick. At least the baby slept in her basket all night! She's the least of my worries

TA, Hornimans came about a while ago when Bad Zelda was going with her lo. Its great for those of us with older ones as there's a big garden, animals as well as the museum and activities. Andiem's right, there's a cafe too. Its also pretty easy to get to - its on the South Circular (A205), so its one road all the way from SW London. (Where are you? I was thinking you are in Reading?)

I'd love to do a day at Bluewater, sadly excess of children and lack of funds prevent me. Its never going to be the other way round, is it?

TALLULAHBELLE · 29/07/2007 11:47

Hey Foxy.
"How long until services are resumed as normal? " Just what DH wants to know.

bumperlicious · 29/07/2007 12:02

Hi all!

Don't know about normal service. Hopefully will hear more today. It's ok, just a bit awkward having to boil water for washing, washing baby etc. Can't wash clothes either and DD keeps weeing everywhere!

I don't think I am going to be able to make our meet up It's DH's birthday that week on 23rd and I asked him what he wanted, and all he wants is for us to go and meet him for lunch as he has to work. If I come to London I will have to go via my mum's otherwise it's too far to do in one day with DD, would have to stay two nights at my mum's, and if I were to do that and get back for DH's birthday could only do the 20th or 21st. But I'm the one that's awkward so you guys pick a day and if I can't make it then I can always meet up with some of you next time I do to my mum's.

bumperlicious · 29/07/2007 12:16

Plus, I have no idea what to get DH for his birthday, but there is a restaurant in London with an exhibition of his favourite photographer, so I thought we could go to london for the day on the friday from my mum's and kick about, but wouldn't be able to do it twice in one week. So the question is who do I love more, you guys or my DH ?

foxybrown · 29/07/2007 16:41

You love us more Bumper!

T - oops! I meant running water

bumperlicious · 29/07/2007 18:35

update on Trace2 for those who hadn't seen it. For those who haven't been around long, or weren't on antenatal, Trace's little girl was born in June and has been really poorly.

trendaverter · 29/07/2007 19:30

oooh Foxy yes I could drive! I was thinking would need to get the tube or something, was having a minor stress but I am good with driving...Speaking of which, Holly if it's cheaper for you to get to Reading I will pick you up? Let me know anyway.
I didn't realise there was animals etc, sounds good to me, I am definately in!

Charlie yes am still at Mum's, thank god, I have been ill with a cold and so tired last week I actually went a bit psycho, apart from feeling a bit under the weather I am now human! My mum has been a superstar, she is DS's surrogate mother and is feeding him as I type! We are even going to Bluewater tomorrow, all you ladies seem to go there, if you see a fat blonde chick with a bugaboo covered in ash stains (don't ask) it's MEEEEEE

loonylovegood · 29/07/2007 20:02

Evening!

I have mostly been sat on my arse all day trying to get over my minging hangover! I was fucking shitfaced (according to my dp) last night! I didn't even mean to get that drunk, I just couldn't stop myself!

Had a wicked night though and it was so nice just to get out and see my bf. The less wicked part was the night ending with me being sick in the toilet and passing out on the bathroom floor! Ooopsy!

trendaverter · 29/07/2007 20:55

You paint a delicate picture Holly

I am just jealous, I want to go out on the piss

loonylovegood · 29/07/2007 21:01

I am a delicate flower me! I went completely crazy, I was so pissed! I seriously paid for it today though, I feel like shit!

Thanks for the offer of a lift from reading TA, but I wouldn't have the car seats for the kids. It was lovely of you to offer though. The train from here is not too bad, I only have to change twice and it doesn't take that long. Can't wait!
