Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LadyTophamSortingHatt · 23/07/2007 21:50

I don't think I've ever sat down and played with george.....

SeverusShimmerus · 23/07/2007 21:51

Oddly enough eah watching that disturbing programme about midwifery just really made me want another one! Now I just have to pursuade DP.............

Wilkie · 23/07/2007 21:54

Shimmer - they are all AK recipes (Baby and Toddler Meal Planner).

Wilkie · 23/07/2007 21:55

BTW, I bought Boullion stock powder today for my recipes. I hope it doesn't have too much salt in it

I just cannot keep making fresh chicken stock - it is a royal PITA

MrsCarrot · 23/07/2007 22:21

is it a low salt one?

Wilkie · 23/07/2007 22:22

It doesn't say low salt - it was the only Boullion one on the shelf.

Dragonhart · 23/07/2007 22:31

Ruth is ok, the doctor said she has a fissure (sp?) which is a tear in your back passage (not sure which bit). Thats where the blood came from. It is from being constipated, although she didnt seem to be but the doc said it could just be that she hasnt had enough to drink (which makes me feel really guilty as she wasnt drinking much water when eating and was starting to refuse a feed in the day and I should have realised what would happen). I had a problem with them after having a bad tear when having Luke and they are bloody painful so no wonder she was crying!

So have to give her loads of fluids and laculose. And put sudocream on it for some reason . So felt relieved when I knew it was not serious. He said it should go in a week or so. Poor little thing!

MrsCarrot · 23/07/2007 22:59

oh no, Dragon, hope it gets better soon.

Wilkie - if you're worried about it you can get low salt bouillon from most supermarkets I think, the marigold brand has a range of different types.

F sat at the table with us having dinner for the first time today, well, he had pear, all his highchair accessories arrived to go with the stokke that was half price in John Lewis and I love it. He looked so pleased with himself.

JodieG1 · 23/07/2007 23:06

Liz - don't worry about it they are all different. Even at 3 and 5 (which my older two are) there are differences between them and others their age but when they get older it will all even out.

Lth - lol

I love playing with Ethan and so does dd, she sits and talks to him and makes him laugh all the time hehe, ds1 is the same as he'll make funny faces and dance in front of him to make him laugh. They're both so good and gentle with Ethan, give him hugs and kisses all the time too

I'm amazed how quickly Ethan's eating has come along, it's only been a couple of weeks since he started and he's really good at picking food up to eat it. He has some of my chow mein for dinner on sunday, I did plan a roast but couldn't be bothered so we got a chinese instead. He loved it and was stuffing it all in his mouth hehe. He eats pretty much the same as what we do now which is fab and so much easier than with the other 2, we all get to eat at the same time now

DH - glad ruth saw the dr and you know what's up with her, hope she's feeling better soon

Wilkie - check the salt, they have lots in, really too much for babies.

JodieG1 · 23/07/2007 23:14

If you can't find the low salt stuff Wilkie then you could always make a big batch up and freeze in ice cube trays.

Wilkie · 24/07/2007 07:43

Morning all. Jodie & Carrot - I did check the salt content it just lists salt as one of the ingredients. There was no low salt version on the shelf. I have made my own in the past but I only have a tiny freezer and don't have the room for all of the icecube trays I need. Plus, it doesn't last five minutes with all the cooking I do!!!

Jodie - bless Ethan eating chow mein. That's really cool. I'm telling you - try him on fish and chips

Shimmer - are you gonna start trying for another one soon then?? I think we should run a sweepstake as to who will be the first pregnant lady on this thread again.

Not much to report here, the sun is shining and I am meeting Vino and RGee in less than three hours so I should really haul ass and get ready.

DH has put stairgate up which J has already investigated by clonking his head on it.

eandh · 24/07/2007 07:58

Whoops J hope his head is ok

Wilkie depending what you are eating each day can you not just make extra and blen ad put in the fridge for the next day to save freezer space, Hattie has the same meal for lunch and dinner which most of the time is what we/Ellie has had for inner the night before.

Oooooo Shimmer would you like a small age gap?

I have played with Hattie a bit but not half as much as I did with Ellie and she is loads more conteted, Ellie used to scream if I went out of sight for longer than a minute and always wanted attention whereas Hattie will sit on her playmat chewing a couple of toys.

Last day at preschool today aaaargh ages till she goes back and the week they restart we are on holiday help me

eandh · 24/07/2007 08:18

I have just spent the last 10 minutes putting Ellies hair into a french plait so its tidy for preschool and the little madam has taken the hair band out and shook her head so its all come out aaarghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh she can bloody have a ponytail now (boys hair would be so much easier to deal with!)

MrsCarrot · 24/07/2007 08:25

Wasn't meant to be 'OMG don't use that', Wilkie, just that there is a marigold low salt version if you want to add more flavour without extra salt ifswim.

Lizzzombie · 24/07/2007 08:42

morning! thanks for not saying that my baby is just a divvy and way behind developmental stages compared to everyone else!!
Wilks - that boulilion (sp) is really salty. My DP always uses it, and I've made him stop as its too salty for me. Unless he uses too much.
Didnt I read somewhere that babies dont even eat for taste at the moment. Cant you use the veggie water after youve steamed/boiled up the veg as a stock? I am in awe of your busy day yesterday though. Reckon you need to put your feet up all day today!
Shimmer - good idea about starting a positive NHS thread. I'd add on that one.
eah - can't you just buy those hats for the girls with the fake plaits on either side?! much easier!

theUrbanDryad · 24/07/2007 10:14

morning everyone - sorry i missed your post earlier lth, i would've loved to go and meet up...we'll probably be back down that way in a couple of weeks though, so i'll catch you on msn and give you my mobile!

Zac can sit up for a little while - about 30 secs but then his feet get too interesting and he topples over sideways! he does a sort of caterpillar crawl, bumping along on his nose, but gets bored of that very quickly! only has one tooth, not very interested in food (mainly having biscotti and pear and melon at the moment! lazy mother!) i'm just too lazy to do weaning, it's such a faff!

right, i must get on and clean my house, it's a total state and i have friends coming over in half an hour!

Dragonhart · 24/07/2007 10:51

Wilkie, I always use kallo low salt vegetable stock as it has trace salt. I can never tell the difference between veg and chicken stock when things are cooked anyway. I get it from Asda but it is in the 'specialist food' section where all the wheat free/diabetics stuff is not with the other stocks.

Ruth loves the lactulose the doc gave her! It is the most enthusiastic she has been about anything other than milk so far! It is very sweet so guess she is going to have a sweet tooth like her mother.

Considering going back to my idea of blw for her to see if that helps. Off to start a thread about it

theUrbanDryad · 24/07/2007 18:42

where is everyone today?

geoRGEEweasley · 24/07/2007 18:53

Hi UD

We were all at vino's parents

Well, me and Vino and Wilkie.

Wilkie · 24/07/2007 19:16

I'm around but apart to start pissing coving again

Just had the awful news that our good friend's mum won't make it through the night. She was only diagnosed with cancer on Friday after going to the GP on Monday complaining of back ache. It had spread from her breast, to her kidney to her bones without her even realising it. She is only early 50's and our friends have just found out they are expecting another baby.

I am so it has really upset me cos I can't help thinking how I would feel it (god forbid) that was my mum.

How fucking awful.

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 24/07/2007 20:01

UD, Wilkie gave me your number and I did send you a text but you shunned me.

I'm not sure I want to meet you now.

theUrbanDryad · 24/07/2007 20:21

i didn't get a txt from you! from Lizzz, yes, but not you...

Wilkie - so sorry to hear about your friend's mum.

GobletOfRouge · 24/07/2007 20:31
