Sorry, Jodie

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsCarrot · 08/07/2007 22:19

I'd wait if they seem not interested unless they're obviously hungry ie needing lots more milk, are you bf, can't remember?

MrsCarrot · 08/07/2007 22:19

or try again in a few days?

IsItPimmsOClock · 08/07/2007 22:23

No, not bf any more. Have been ff for the last 2 months. If anything he seems to be cutting back on the amount of milk he's having .... but I can't make him eat if he doesn't want to I suppose!

MrsCarrot · 08/07/2007 22:32

is he interested in your food, like if you're eating an apple does he watch? If not, maybe he's not ready

IsItPimmsOClock · 08/07/2007 22:40

He does look interested, just looks at me as if i'm slightly mad when I suggest he eats some! I'm not worried about it, just a bit confused - think I've been brainwashed by all the people telling me that he must be hungry as he's such a 'big boy' (20lbs plus now I guess)

MrsCarrot · 08/07/2007 22:51

I would only listen when HE tells you he's hungry. I've sort of started as F has been grabbing fruit from me and literally shoving it in his mouth, then he gets cross, might let him try and hold it himself tomorrow. You'll know if he seems ready I think, rather than going by the week it is. If he still isn't interested at all in a month I might make more of an effort but I bet he will.

RGee · 09/07/2007 07:37

Morning.
Quick post whilst lo's sleeping.
I'm back - hello all. Can someone give me a run down of what's been happening here the last fortnight to save me having to properly read all your posts? The only thing I've picked up on is what Jodie feeds in the park
All well here - had a good week with DH off work, and a nice weekend chez mil whilst dh was on a golf break. LO is fine - getting even more nosey and enjoying her veg / fruit purees.

loopyjules · 09/07/2007 11:24

hello

lo is having a monster morning nap which is a lovely treat for me and has given me the time to read through and catch up on the days i missed the best i can. i am now posting on my lovely new laptop so am hoping i'll be able to keep up and join in a bit more, by you lot can talk!

i've read so much so it's hard to remember what you've all been upto but i've been pmsl at your going to feed the f's jodie still keep getting a giggle on at it, classic post!

had a quick look at some of your photo's all lovely of course, really impressed with ethan and jacob nearly crawling you'll have your hands full then ladies brandon has just got pretty mobile with his rolling if he see's something he wants he'll try his best to roll there and get it, quite often if i go out of the room to make a brew i come back to find he's rolled off his playmat to the other end of the room and is looking rather pleased with himself

wilkie - thx for explaining the name change, i got a bit confused but thought it might have been you. had a good old giggle at jacobs post on friday!!

jamie - welcome to the thread, i'm new to it too

katwithkittens - have a great hol in italy, i'm so jealous

vino - how was the hen night, i'm really looking forward to my best friends on saturday, i am maid of honor so me and the chief bridesmaid are busy plotting

well i'd better go and get little lazy boy i can hear him stirring...

Shimmer · 09/07/2007 13:46

Jodie what was that thing you do to get lost typing back?? I just typed loads and it all disappeared

Hi loopyjules. Very about the new laptop! Mine is rubbish. It keeps bringing up this scary blue screen and crashing! Spose it serves me right for letting freddie play about with it...

Welcome back RGee!

Pimms I'd agree with MrsC (who after all has loads more experience in these things than me!) I knew F was ready for some food when he was really eager to take something i was holding and shove it in his mouth. I'm sure it'll come soon.

F and I went to a baby gym for under 2's today for the first time, which he really enjoyed. He did seem a bit little for it still, most of the other LOs were 1ish and toddleing around, but he loved watching them all and there were lots of things for him to play with (and try to eat!) I'm always a bit nervous of those drop-in things the first time as everyone else always knows each other, y'know? But people were actually quite friendly and i didn't feel too awkward Also it completely exhausted F!! We stayed for about 45 mins, until he got really whiny, and when i put him down in his buggy to go home he feel asleep in seconds!

loopyjules · 09/07/2007 14:07

hi shimmer

i think jodie said ctrl z although i'm not sure.

that baby gym sounds like great fun for them, i don't think there's anything like that around here though, i was looking at the mothercare site yesterday and there is some kind of playmat with inflatables for them to climb on, arches to crawl under and a little ball pool in the middle, it says from 12 months so brandon might get that for his first birthday

JodieG1 · 09/07/2007 17:13

Yep it's control z, so annoying when that happens isn't it. Had to take Ethan to the docs today because his cough was getting worse and they've given him antibiotics as he could hear something on his chest and because he's had it for so long. He hasn't fed much at all today which is really unlike him and my boobs are huge and sore! Hoping he makes up for it later.

Hope you're all well will catch up later

2Happy · 09/07/2007 19:48

Shimmer - my conputer's doing exactly the same thing, it's really bugging me. Crashes pretty much every time I use it these days
RGee - hellloooooooooooo welcome back
Jodie - hope the antibiotics do the trick and Ethan's feeling (and feeding) better soon.

We took ds1 to the zoo for the first time yesterday. He really liked it and walked almost non-stop for about 3 hours! His favourites were the rhinos, the jaguar and the stinky penguins (his cousin called them that, I think he now thinks that's actually what they're called ). Put ds2 in the buggy for the first time - he's getting a bit heavy for the sling - but I think he's still too little for it and was awfully slumped (though it might just be that I am so used to seeing ds1 in it). Loving not having rain for a change, I wonder how long it'll last

MrsCarrot · 09/07/2007 19:53

Hope Ethan feels better soon, Jodie, it's horrible when they have a cough. DD had asthma when she was a baby and coughed for MONTHS, it was much worse at night too.

F has interpreted going to bed at 6pm as having a nap and is now feeling dandy, apparently, showing no signs of tiredness.

Have a couple of new photos on profile too.

RGee · 09/07/2007 20:28

Wow - where is everybody? Is there another secret shiny thread I don't know about you wicked people?

Loopy - am also very about your new laptop. I feel I need a laptop so I can multitask and watch tv / read MN / talk rubbish to DH at the same time.

Shimmer - am most impressed at your bravery and going to a baby gym. There is one about a 5 minute walk from me on a Friday (and I will have Friday's off when I return to work) so keep thinking I should perhaps be a bit more sociable for lo's sake. You have encouraged me by saying the people were friendly. You going back then?

Jodie - poor E and poor you. He's been stuck with that nasty bug for a while. Hope the doc sorts it out.

Hiya 2Happy. Zoo visit sounds really good fun. On our hols lo patted a horsey (just realised I typed in baby speak....) and got very excited about it.

Carrot - loved the photos. That bath was is really cool, but I love the pushchair one. So cute!

Who's starting work soon? EaH and Hattie2 - is being back at work ok? Am realising that lo starts nursery in 3 weeks and am starting to get worried on her behalf. Vino - your post about name tags made me think I need to get some too.

Where are you all? Come out of the woodwork and say hello if you're lurking. Have you made up with DH yet Wilkie?

laughalot · 09/07/2007 20:55

Hi all just hijacked MIL's laptop to say hi!

Hope you are all well, no time to catch up so will have a mamoth catching up when I get back home.

We are having a good time, Luke was ill for the wedding so that was not great. Had a good time but he was just really quiet and wouldnt eat anything.

Ruth has been an angel though so she has made it easier.

I love this laptop, I want one! Much bette than my massive computer

vinorouge · 10/07/2007 07:22

Rgee - the name tags are so cute! You get to choose a pic to go on the label next to the name, we chose a ladybird.

Loopy - have fun on the hen night. I managed 2 whole nights away from lo!

Got first nursery intro session this morning.

stressed about weaning and how much milk lo needs. off to baby clinic to chat to hv before I go to nursery and have to tell them what a typical lo day is. We don't really have one!!

RGee · 10/07/2007 07:35

Hi all

PCF - how lovely for DS1 to say that. He loves his mum . How are the wedding plans and WW going?

Dragon - if you get a laptop don't tell me. Am already jealous of Loopys! Hope DS is better.

Vino - good luck for today. Look forward to hearing all about it. I am bricking it too for Pippa's introductory session

Hello everyone else!

Off out on a works do this lunchtime. It's our end of year posh meal out - DH is coming back to take care of lo whilst I go and sink a few g&t's! I think I'll be a baby bore

eandh · 10/07/2007 08:28

I seem to read the posts and then run out of time to actually post myself.

Rgeen I am enjoying being back at work although its always a bit rushed in the evening by the time I have picked them up got home, unpacked bags, got them to bed, cooked dinner and eaten its time to go to bed, but, it is nice having a bit of 'me' time.

I love my laptop dont think I could go back to having PC.

PCF awww thats so cute well done Alex

MrsCarrot lovely pics

Jodie hope Ethan is feeling better

LAL good luck for tomorrow and I cant believe Ellie is almost 3 so I know what you mean about them growiing up so quickly.

Right got to go as nee to ring doctors I have had earache for 4 days and its not getting any better so got to get Drs appt which means either trying to fit it in between preschool run or taking them both wuth me

Shimmer · 10/07/2007 08:48

Morning all.

Thats so lovely PCF Horray for Max!

Sympathy for those with LOs starting in nurseries soon. I'm not starting back at work until October but i'm nervous about it already! Might go down the childminder route though, rather than nursery, as other London mums i know all seem to think if you can find a good childminder in your area it's preferable. Also started looking into a nanny share, but have a feeling this will be ruinously expensive. I'm only going back to work cos we need the money so there's no point on spending it ALL on childcare.

RGee I am still feeling quite proud of myself for making the effort to take F to the baby gym! There were loads of people there and all seemed to be in groups already, IYSWIM, but luckily there were quite a few nice people who saw me looking lonely and came over to say hi. I will definitely take F again as he loved it, and thats the main things really isn't it?!

Lovely pics Carrot! What a gorgeous family

Wilkie · 10/07/2007 08:53
