LadyTophamHatt · 29/04/2007 20:29

nothing to say...just wanted to be the first to post on it....

ellieandhattie · 29/04/2007 20:57

good title 2happy since we've all gone quiet lately this thread may last longer than normal (dd's have finally just gone to sleep as they have had a lovely day with my mum and dad but fell asleep in the car at 3.30 for 40 minutes eeek!!!!!)

theUrbanDryad · 29/04/2007 21:38

wooooo hoo! new thread

Wilkie · 29/04/2007 21:55

You nearly gave me heart failure 2Happy, thought RGee had an announcement for a second

Well, still no word from my mum. Feel annoyed and upset. Feels like I am the big bad wolf yet again.

Lizzzombie · 29/04/2007 22:19

Try not to be sad Wilkie. If she is anything like my mum she is fed up at being used by poor hard done by sis (!), and is just thinking "GRR" at all of it. Give her tonight to cool down and call tomorrow. Hopefully she will see your point. xxx

Ok - another FF question:
We are having alot (like A L O T) of puke on SMA at the moment. I know LTH said that compared to a whole bottle its probably not that much, but LO is generally being very pukey at the moment, so may try a different formula.
What is everyones favourite?
I have heard good things about Hippo Organic and also Aptimil.
Also - is it true you should keep Lo on the starter milk for as long as poss as it has the most nutrients?

This is all so confusing.

Wilkie · 29/04/2007 22:24

Lizz - I can see you have just MSNed me but I am just off to bed.

SMA is the devils work , Aptamil Stage 1 is excellent and is all you need to stay on ATM.

Right, see y'all in the morning.

LadyTophamHatt · 29/04/2007 22:34

yes, lizz, thehungry baby milk is made up differnetly and will proably give him belly ache.
DS4 is another aptimal baby, was farleys until a few weeks ago.

Shimmer · 30/04/2007 04:16

Hi all. Sorry about fight with your mum Wilkie Have you decided to leave J with ILs? I'm still finding my mum quite a PITA at the moment... Even though we've always been close and uually get on great, I don't think stayng out here for 3 weeks was such a great idea really. And sorry to be soppy for a moment (not like me!) but I am missing DP

Anyway..... Lizz... F is ff and we have pretty much the same routine as EAH (though haven't started any rice or anything yet). He has about 6oz at 7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm(HBM) and dreamfeed (also HBM) before i go to bed. And he sleeps from about 7:30 til 6:30 so i think thats working alright for us. He's actually on Cow & Gate at the moment. We started off on SMA and switched over abou a month ago just because you can't get SMA over here, but they do have C&G. F has been fine on both but we have almost only used the ready made liquidy milks!! This was not planned at all as its cost me a small fortune (especially the C&G!) but he HATED the powered formula after he'd got used to the ready made variety and it gave him tummy ache for a couple of days before we switched him back to the ready made... No idea what the actual difference between the 2 is but just know F is happier on the ready made

Pictures of F's first swimming lesson on my profile.

laughalot · 30/04/2007 08:29

Lauren had a dreamfeed last night and that was a mistake she had really bad wind all night I just felt when I was reading everyones posts about ff that I am not feeding lauren enough however she dosent wake up in the night for food just her dummy which she wont keep in so think im just going to stick with what I was doing. Nice sunny day here and iv got to take loz for her 4 month review im sure I never had one with aidan

Hattie got final set of jabs at 10.30 but dh taken car so have got double pushchair out and will need to persuade llie to go in it to walk to and from Drs

JodieG1 · 30/04/2007 08:47

laughalot - lol, he was very interested in it but has been for a couple of weeks now, just wants to put everything in his mouth. I give him the infant gaviscon on a spoon and he really laps it up lol. It is tempting to get the baby rice out when I see him like that but I tell myself that it's better if I wait and we blw instead as we do have asthma, hayfever and ibs in the family (me, dd and dh). Mind you he'll be sitting up soon, he managaed a couple of seconds yesterday before getting wobbly, he's taking after ds1 who crawled at 6 months and walked at 9 months.

JodieG1 · 30/04/2007 08:47

Will do some personals after, only having a sneaky 5 mins on here while dh gets dd ready for school, they're running late hehe.

RGee · 30/04/2007 08:49

Yeaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh, I'm back to a GREAT thread title 2Happy . And we got back from our weekend away to find no mice in the house with Whiskas being the snack of choice.

So, what's been going on since none of you were here to play with on Friday evening ?

Jodie - sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Enjoy today too with DH off. Weather's supposed to be really nice again. Another picnic?

UD - how did the swimming go? And how was your brother? Is your DH back from the funeral and MIL visit yet? Any tales from that?

2Happy - hope you got a decent sleep somewhere over the weekend.

Wilkie - welcome home!!!! Hope you had a good time in Machester - doesn't sound very restful! And about row with your mum, but I agree with everyone else that J is your no 1 priority. What is it about guilt after you've had babies?

EAH - love the front door, and the tidy driveway . The bumbo pic is great! Did you have a good night with the girls away . at your shopping trip. I'm not a big fan of shopping, but since I've not been able to just nip into town, am really missing it!!

Lizz - please don't scratch out your eyeballs. Otherwise you won't be anble to read about us all on MN. Hope the hayfever gets better. We feed around 7am, 10am, 1pm, 3.30pm, 6.30pm and dreamfeed at 10.30pm. Hoping to cut back to 5 feeds a day soon. She takes around 33oz a day, and sleeps from 7pm - 7am. Four months old today!! Use the SMA ddevil food. She seems ok on it (except a couple of weeks ago when they changed the protein balance of it, so look out as they may still have old style SMA out there). Aptimel seems to be the formula of choice on this thread.

LTH - hope your car hasn't been nicked. Am sure I saw UD lurking in your area...Photo of George is lovely He is a cutie!

Dragon - can't wait to come round when you have the climbing frame installed

Shimmer - know what you mean about reverting to your youth when with parents. But in the last couple of years I've had a real role reversal with my mum, and she is now uncontrollable teenager and I am sensible (as ever). Loved the swim ring photo!

Laughalot - waved at your house as we passed it yesterday.

We had a lovely weekend. Dropped lo at in laws whilst we went for a pint then to the footie on Saturday (my first match this season and I'd forgotton how much I enjoy it). DH was very happy as we won so are now in the play offs. Then picked up LO and went to Nottinghamshire staying with friends. LO slept like a dream in her travel cot, and I had the most I'd had to drink in a year!! The best thing was no hangover despite ridiculous amounts of port and DH got up and let me have a lie in until I woke at 10am. Then I came downstairs to find a bacon butty waiting for me ....mmmm......

Hope you all have a good day!

RGee · 30/04/2007 08:53

Took me so long to write that, lots of X posts.

Laughalot - someone I saw last week asked me if we'd had our 4 month review. Never heard of it until this was mentioned. What happens? Am off to get her weighed on Wednesday but presume nothing else will happen other than the HV saying 'is everything ok' and me saying 'yup'.

EAH - would love to see a message written from Ellie and Hattie. Let them loose on the keyboard!!! Good luck with the jabs.

Jodie - step away from Mumsnet....go to school...you will be late...

Hi PCF . What is it with cars at the mo? UD are you any nearer to finding a new car? Good luck with the weigh in PCF, and have fun shopping for new tops!

Carrot - you around? Can't wait to hear about your wedding.

Vino - are you back from the Peak District and lurking? Show yourself Otherwise rumours will be flying that I've scared you off..sob...

Talking of which, Shopaholic and Feb, are you around??

Lizzzombie · 30/04/2007 11:08

Morning Everyone!
Hope everybody is enjoying the sunshine. Its lush here. Shame I'm not dressed and cant be arsed to go downstairs to the beach. Am having a lazy day. Baby massage this morning. They are doing a Dads session soon which I am signing up DP for (how very Hove of us!!)
Shimmer - photos of F are so sweet!
PCF - Hope WW goes well. I can't do diets, I get too hungry. But what I am trying to do is, every time I want to snack when I know I am not hungry is to brush my teeth. It really curbs grazing, and hopefully will shift some excess lard off my massive muffin top.
Its going to be hard giving up the extra 500 calories once I stop BF properly though! UD - I have one creme egg left in the fridge from Easter. Please, be in awe of my self control!
x

RGee · 30/04/2007 11:08

EAH - I have a message for Ellie

afdgahjgarebbnazngvkjra;e jtga fa{grin} (roughly translates to thanks for tyour message but please don't play with mummy's laptop unless she lets you)

Lizzzombie · 30/04/2007 11:09

ps - thanks for advice re formulas.
If he still chucks up SMA this evening, I'm off to buy some Aptamil.
I just cant decide if its normal for him to puke up or not. I constantly smell of baby sick. Its gross.

Calbourne · 30/04/2007 11:22

Hello - sorry have just joined Mumsnet and stumbled on the Jan07 club. I'm new to motherhood with a lovely son who arrived in Jan07. Is your club open to new members?
Many apologies if I have intruded.

Geordie voiceover: Day Nine in the Big Boy's Bed

6.45pm Big Granny had ds1 today and didn't bother to bring him home until after 3.30pm so ds1 hasn't had a nap today. Overtired doesn't come close. Big Father takes him upstairs to bed.

7.30pm Big Father has been unsuccessful at getting ds1 to sleep. Big Mother takes over.

7.40pm ds1 is asleep.

7.41pm Big Father is called out, the phone wakes ds1 up.

7.50pm Big Mother checks ds1, he is asleep in bed.

10.30 Big Mother and ds2 go to bed.

10.35 Big Father gets home, goes to check ds1. Finds ds1 in a huddle, on hands and knees, face pressed to the carpet asleep on the floor!!!

3.17am ds1 wakes up, the noise wakes ds2 up.

4am ds1 goes back to sleep

4.30am ds2 is still awake

5.30am ds2 is awake again

6.30am ds2 is awake again. ds1 gets up and rattles the stairgate. Big Mother starts to cry...

Hi Calbourne! You're welcome to join us, the more the merrier. We're generally a friendly bunch, but having said that what happened to the other 2 newbies who appeared a week or so ago - they seem to have been scared off

Decided to drop LO's dreamfeed at the weekend and for the past 2 nights he's slept from 7pm to 7.30am . Both mornings he has stirred at about 5am and moaned for a couple of minutes before settling himself back to sleep, so fingers (and toes and everything else) crossed this continues!

2Happy · 30/04/2007 11:42

Hello Calbourne, welcome! You're not intruding, everyone's welcome!

Lizzz - hope you enjoyed the baby massage

PCF - hope the car passes its MOT

RGee - glad you had a good weekend. Port, mmmmmmm

E&H - hope the jabs go ok

Laughalot - never heard of 4m review either, but then ds2 and I haven't even had the 6 week check, and ds1 only got his 8m check at over a year old, so I'm not surprised!

Wilkie - any word from your Mum today?

Think I am going to mow the lawn now. Have already been to town and bought ds1 sandals (he's not had new shoes since last year - he will only wear wellies ) and had him strop the entire time in the shop. Overtired. Again.

Rgee - we had to pop into dh's office as he has to go to London tomorrow and he needed to pick up a laptop. We took Ethan and Morgan with us. Dropping Morgan off at pre-school soon and then going into Cambridge. Dh took Caitlin to school, they just about made it on time!

PCF - Not sure how long it'll be before he actually sits up properly though!

Liz - I know what you mean about giving up the extra 500 calories, I was thinking about the same thing yesterday. I'm still loving some chocolate hehe.

Calbourne - welcome, how was your pregnancy and birth?

Had Ethan weighed again today out of interest at he's now 17lb 4 at 15 weeks!! Means he's put on a pound in 2 weeks, little fatty hehe.
