I dont want people to think im saying that northerners are better than southerners ect ect but she does get right up my nose. Can you just imagine a north/south mnet divide , the pic for eah is because the bedding she is selling is the same as mine.

Wilkie · 11/05/2007 08:59

Oh yes LL - likewise - Southerners rule as much as the Norterners (although the Southerners so have one fatal flaw......KATIE!!!!!)

laughalot · 11/05/2007 09:07

Wilkie BIG NOSE KATIE HHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEE
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE you poor buggers if you accidently bump into that nose

theUrbanDryad · 11/05/2007 09:31

morning all - not too bad a night here, Z woke once at half 2 then up for the day ay half 6. DH woke up this morning and said, "Did he sleep through?" erm...no. you did though. grrr.... he's also in my bad books at the moment cause he forgot to rinse out his weetabix bowl before going to work, and it has now solidified to the consitency of concrete. or polyfilla. grr....

still, he did manage to break his favourite mug this morning while making the tea, although it was his mug that his ex-gfriend (also unfortunately called Emily!) made, so i can't say i'm too upset. i will make him another one.

Zac has got his 3rd set of jabs this morning. i'm dreading it, as my mum usually comes with me, but they are on holiday at the moment. bah! i tried to make Dh phone in sick but he wouldn't.

oh yeah! i got called a teenage mum yesterday! was walking to my parents' house. and saw two elderly ladies standing by the bus stop. one of them made eye contact and smiled, and so i smiled back - cause i know older ladies like to coo over small babies - and she said, whilst mantaining eye contact with me but clearly talking to her friend, "I think it's such a shame about these teenage mums." !!!!!!!!!! i wanted to wave my wedding ring in her face and shout I'M MARRIED!! AND TWENTY FIVE!!! but secretly i was a little bit flattered too.

Lizzzombie · 11/05/2007 09:34

[snooty southern emotion]
One thinks one may be too far south to converse with northern types.

laughalot · 11/05/2007 09:42

rrrrrrrrrrooooooooooooffffffffllllllllll
lizz you cant get much further south my duck that is a bit of a northern saying bet your pudding is going to be the best especially as it will be made down south ha ha ha with all that lovely southern sea air, have you been to skegness lizz you dont know what your missing lol ask wilkie

Lizzzombie · 11/05/2007 10:10

Never been to Skeggie.
I went to uni in Newcastle for 4 years though! And DP is from Bolton.
I am faux northern!

MrsCarrot · 11/05/2007 10:36

If you want puddings then I can thoroughly recommend Marks and Spencers raspberry pannacotta (sp?) Yum! I haven't MADE any puddings or cakes for ages, although I have the Green and Blacks cookbook now and it looks delicious, how about clementine cake with almonds instead of flour, there you go, practically good for you!

Glad you had a good holiday, Shimmer, the photos are lovely. I see from your profile you are a book buyer, what sort of books do you buy? or is it general stuff for a chain etc? I got a very bad mark on my publishing module on my MA last year. I was writing about The Hogarth Press and on the thirD paragraph I wrote 'Leonard and VICTORIA Woolf founded the press in....' Victoria WoolF? WTF? I had just found out I was pregnant though

Morning everyone. I am sat here trying to write thank you cards and instead am chatting on here. Sigh, only 27 to go, although as I only had to write 28 that's not too good is
it?

Lizzzombie · 11/05/2007 10:38

One batch of flapjacks just made - with apricot in them. Slightly chargrilled as oven was too hot...doh...
anyone want one?

Fairy cakes will be made shortly....

(I'm not dressed or showered yet! )

Lizzzombie · 11/05/2007 11:10

doh doh doh
eggs out of date. no fairy cakes at the moment.

Lizzzombie · 11/05/2007 11:11

Oh - btw - Galmum: I checked the inventory list, phew, toilet roll holder is included in the sale!

katwith3kittens · 11/05/2007 11:16

LOL at the pudding descriptions, pikey, 70's !! I thought all these homemade favourites like rice pudding and spotted dick were de rigour these days (well to use appreciative northern foodie types they are anyway !) Oh yes, Galmums recommendation of the raspberry pannecotte (?) is perfect, infact I bought one yesterday, they are half price at the moment, and come in a terracotta dish so you could even pretend you made it yourself Nigella does a good trifle with lemon drizzle cake as base if you are interested.

Wilkie, hope you are OK now. That was such a horrible thing to say. All babies are beautiful, its their innocence that makes them so special.
Mines a baldy with fine blonde hair btw, had to laugh at EaH use of the term 'thatch' so funny.

Got quite upset yesterday thinking about this Madeline thing, and then I read the thread about baby James on the post natal area (dont read if you dont want upsetting). We have a known sex offender living a couple of miles away from us. I try to be level headed about it all, as we all let the children play outside in the fields. Mine have really good walkie talkies so I always know where they are, but it makes you think ..........

DH, a hot water bottle, stroking the lump with a wide toothed comb towards the nipple seems to help me, and feeding baby whilst on all fours, well, elbows unless your boobs are huge . I seem to get a blocked duct quite often in one breast, but it doesnt necessarily mean you'll get mastitis, I think the two things are different.

Good luck with the jabs today you young mum UD !

MrsCarrot · 11/05/2007 11:32

ACTUALLY, Kat, it was me who recommended the pannacottahoweveryouspellit. but I always get the posters wrong, particularly Laughalot and lizzombie for some reason, two l's maybe!

katwith3kittens · 11/05/2007 11:42

Terribly sorry, Mrs Carrot, wouldn't have put you down as a pudding eater looking like you do, such a slim jim Not that I'm saying Galmum enjoys her pudding anymore than the next mum !

(make a mental note never to post any more personals unless I have a pad and paper next to me with correct details on it)

Anyway, just checked and its panna cotta !

Lizzzombie · 11/05/2007 11:54

Its me making the puddings!!! Not Galmum!

You are obviously in need of some sugar KWK!

theUrbanDryad · 11/05/2007 12:00

just had te jabs. he screamed and screamed. then he slept. now he's awake and being extra cute at me. i feel awful....

will someone please give me a kick up the arse and tell me to stop being so wet?

MrsCarrot · 11/05/2007 12:01

personals get me in a muddle scrolling up and down! Lizzombie is right, eat sugar, ha ha. and LOL at me being a slim jim. 12 stone I tell you, 12 STONE! I LIKE the pic I put up as it makes me look thinner

MrsCarrot · 11/05/2007 12:02

Nemo2007 · 11/05/2007 12:02

Just had a quick look through and wondered if you are all weaning already??? WE can barely get Chloe to take milk never mind adding food into that!! Although do think I might purchase the anabel karmel food grinder as it looks spot on!!

ellieandhattie · 11/05/2007 12:02

EAH - your going back to work soon aren't you? You have to spend you £ on something!
As for northern people, well secretly I dont understand most of what they say...all those funny accents and odd sayings, its not proper english is it? (am sure PCF & LTH will agree too!)

ellieandhattie · 11/05/2007 12:05

Lizz - UD's little boy is Z its Wilkies who is J
