PinkTulips · 29/03/2007 15:41

it's just breaking through now... god help us if we have this for every tooth though, d didn't cause this much fuss when she got 8 teeth in 2 days once!

know what you mean about being worn out, when caleb is being difficult and i have to spend hours upstairs trying to settle him i could just cry from exhaustion

BigHotMama · 29/03/2007 15:48

Wow 8 teeth in 2 days? That must be a world record lol. Jackson's just woke up crying only been down 10 minutes argh!!

PinkTulips · 29/03/2007 15:53

caleb had a massive nap today but only coz he was asleep in my arms so i still got nothing done

he's sitting on the floor now 'helping' dd with a puzzle... she's so sweet with him and he just loves that he can play with her now.... it makes things alot easier on me to to be able to plop him down for her to entertain!

micku5 · 29/03/2007 18:45

Hi, Talia was in hospital with bronchiolitis, she had to be taken to ICU at the Evelina Children's hospital in London. SHe ended up on a ventilator because her breathing was so bad but further complications arose when they tried to take her off. She failed twice so in the end she had to have a bronchioscopy, a CTR scan and an MLB (procedure to look down the upper airways).

It was a very long and hard two weeks especially when they took her off the ventilator because when they had to re-intubate her things would go bad (she turned blue at one point because her oxygen levels dropped)

She now has to have follow up appointments with the cardiologist (the hole in her heart has gotten bigger), ENT for a repeat MLB to make sure the minor surgery she had on her throat has healed up ok and I want a referral for SALT because although she was always a quiet baby she was starting to babble and make some noises but now she doesn't make any noise except when she cries or smiles and laughs.

BUT the most important thing is that my baby is home safe and well and that is the best birthday present I could have asked for. Everything else we will cope with as and when the time comes.

BigHotMama · 29/03/2007 19:45

Oh Micku5 I'd be a complete mess if I were in your situation you are such a strong lady. How awful for little Talia and all of you, she has been though so much at her age, I'm praying for you that things improve and am glad she's back home with you. X X X

olivo · 29/03/2007 20:36

eenybeeny · 30/03/2007 12:28

Micku I feel for you so much. Well done for coping so well. We are always here for you here if you need to vent to someone.

Alex is nowhere near as poorly as poor Talia was/is but he is still pretty sick. Right after coming out of hospital he came down with a chest infection so we are dealing with that now.

Pink well done on getting Caleb to sleep better! any tips?? I need Alex to sleep A LOT more than he does!

Snowboo · 30/03/2007 14:30

Micku, sorry to hear about Talia, and well done for coping so well. I really don't know if i could.

Eeny also, hope Alex is feeling better! It will get better the bigger he gets....

Gosh, feels like i've been gone ages! Will catch up later if i have any energy. We have another tooth coming, a cold, conjunctivius or whatever and we have fallen off the sofa And i'm putting gates up everywhere trying to contain my little livewire! He is all over the place and i really am knackered.

Will sit down tonight and read thru. xx

PinkTulips · 30/03/2007 15:27

{{{{hugs}}} micku, my heart breaks for you having to go through all that. Talia will be in my thoughts and prayers.

on the talking thing though, caleb was chatting loads too and was saying 'mama' and babbling baba loads but the last few weeks he's completely stopped, i think they just forget how when they've other things on their minds so hopefully Talia stopping her babbling is no more serious.

Nbg · 30/03/2007 20:14

Cripes, it goes really quiet and then theres loads of messages!

Olivo, I really feel for you about this going back to work lark. Even more so now you've said you've stopped BF. I've heard so many people say how emotional it is when they do stop.
I'd just like to point out though that I havent done the half formula thing yet. I'm just going to crack the going to sleep awake first. But that is going well and he's only been waking once in the night.

Booby, whats that about indigestion? Sounds like a pile of tripe to me. I thought you got pain and heartburn with that, not sickness. Hope your feeling better.

Micku, poor Talia. I hope shes doing better now and glad to hear shes home.
Ellis had broncilitis just after xmas and it was awful but luckily he never had to go to hospital. It must have been a rough time for you.

Right for those of you with boys, can I just ask, have they discovered their meat and 2 veg yet?
Ellis has and being a true male, he thinks there absolutely fantastic.
We've had his hands covered in poo because he cant wait to have a play when I take his nappy off and when a new nappy goes on, all I gte off him is sad looks and disappointment!
Please tell me all the other boys are doing this

nikki81 · 30/03/2007 20:54

Hi everyone. Can I join in please? I have a 7 month old called Georgina and would love to talk.

sarahlou1uk · 30/03/2007 21:07

Hiya nikki!
Your more than welcome to join.

Sarahlou, so they dont actually stop then?!!!

BigHotMama · 31/03/2007 09:12

Lol NBG, Jackson has been tugging away at his tackle for ages now (just like his dad ha!). As soon as the nappy is off his hand is there pulling and stretching it like a piece of elastic, I even took a piccy of him as I can bribe him when he's older .

Welcome Nikki, tell us all about yourself and your dd. We like to be nosey

Hiya Snowboo & Melsy, seem like you both havent been on for ages. Seems like we're al experiencing sleeping problems with our lo's of some sort. Jackson just wont settle, mind you he has a nasty cold which is forever dripping and blowing bubbles form his nostrils poor love, we gave him a small dose of medised...wow it knocked him right out

olivo · 31/03/2007 12:04

PinkTulips · 31/03/2007 18:16

nbg.... YES! he's driving me mad with it at the minute.. although the look of delight on his face when he has a pull is priceless.... am loving the idea of taking a pic for bribery purposes! we have tonnes of blackmail photoes of sarah havng tantrums that i'm calling her 'meeting the boyfriend at 16 collection' evil.... moi?

welcome nikkie.. is georgina your first? how's everything going so far?

grannycracksopenabottleofwine · 31/03/2007 23:22

hello nikki

hi everyone. my ds is now 7 months old and attempting to crawl. on carpeted floors he can move forward on his hands and knees afew paces at a time. he also has begun to try and stay up in the evening. i've spent 1 and a half hours running in and out of the room settling him every couple of minutes. i just don't want him to think he can come out again once it's bedtime.

olivo - good luck with getting back into the swing of things at work - i'm sure you'll be fine

micku - i'm thinking of you and your little one back at your home. i've even found it tears me apart just seeing a drip inserted into my baby. you must have been so brave. we'll be at the evelina hospital for my ds' pyeloplasty op in a few weeks

btw my ds doesn't play with his bits and pieces. i wonder why not?? (not like his dad, lol)

PinkTulips · 01/04/2007 14:20

well caleb still doesn't 'get' crawling but he's started taking steps holding our hands so maybe he'll just be one of those babies that just skips the crawling stage?

granny.... the lighter evenings are causing havoc with bedtime here too... i've started having to keep caleb up til the same time as dd as he takes so long to settle now, on the other hand though he generally sleeps til 11 or so now without waking once he's down so that's a bit of an improvemnet

it's lovely and sunny here again so we're going for a drive down the coast... let dd run off some energy on the beach!

burstingwithminicremeeggs · 01/04/2007 14:29

Hi not been here for ages. No idea whats gone on. Hope everyone is well and all our dc's are being angels!
Joe still has no teeth, he's shuffling backwards and rolling to get to where he wants to go. We may have mastered crawling in a few more weeks! He's saying dad dad da and mum mum ma and all the usual chunters.

micku5 · 01/04/2007 18:32

Hiya.. thanks for all your kind words. It has meant the world to me. I have to say I was really lucky that I have friends who work in London so we were able to meet up for lunch or they came to visit in the evenings but best of all my mum flew over for 10 days. I didn't realise how much I needed her until she said she had booked her flight.

DH was great but he couldn't stay with me because of dd1 and work but when we got home i did get an afternoon shopping trip with him at Bluewater for a combined Mothers Day and birthday treat.

Talia has started her babbling again it its the best sound in the world lol (until she starts talking and if she's anything like her sister she won't shut up)

DH cleared out the garage yesterday and he found the door bouncer and walker so Talia's been in both and loves them.

Anyway... about this meet up. Have we decided on a where and when?

Nbg · 01/04/2007 19:02

Evening all.

Well as some of you have read already, I am pregnant.
I'm not happy about it atm and I'm needing time to come round to the whole thing. Its just been a total shock.

I have read lots of threads on MN about women who have had babies close to each other and in a way, kind of sniggered and thought "Good god, how tragic"! But now I find myself in that position, its really not that nice and am panicking about alot.

So please bear with me over the next few weeks if I seem a bit miserable.

olivo · 01/04/2007 19:49

OMG nbg, hope you are ok. remember we are here for you if you want to rant. take care xx

olivo · 01/04/2007 20:22

oh nbg, just seen your other thread; hadnt realised how anxious you were. please let us know if there is anything we can do for you - no experience of this but would do what i can.
chin up, hope you manage to egt some sleep.
x

Nbg · 01/04/2007 20:29

Thanks Olivo
