Well, ds2 may have a UTI, so is on antibiotics for the next week. And if it is, we'll be down to the hospital for investigation.

He has been happier today than the last couple of days, so I have posted a pic of him on my otherwise somewhat minimalist profile.

dressedupnowheretogo · 16/03/2007 21:35

bhm yes i have 2 dress sizes and half a stone and counting weight watchers is so much better

Nbg · 17/03/2007 08:11

Olivo, glad you had a great holiday. You'll have to fill us all in.

Purple, how did you know ds had a UTI? Poor little boy. I've suffered with them alot and they are horrid. I hope he feels better soon.

Eeny, you are doing brilliantly. Go and treat yourself now! I wouldnt worry about the rolling and moving thing. Ellis hates being on his front so theres no chance of him crawling. He has however been doing bum shuffling in a fashion, so maybe Alex will be the same.

Booby, will have to see those pics when you get them. Dh and I keep talking about having some photos done but dont know where. Although our Boots is tiny.

Well today we get our new little doggy Freya the Chihuahua, lol! Dh set off at 6am this morning with his brother to the south coast to pick her up. We've rehomed her from another mumsnetter. I cant wait to see her!

sarahlou1uk · 17/03/2007 09:34

Morning everyone. Well, my little boy was 4 yesterday and had his first 'proper' birthday party at a local play centre. He absolutely loved being the centre of attention for once. I couldn't stop laughing when each one of his friends arrived with a present - he kept saying 'is this for me?' Bless him!

Anyway, got home totally knackered out only to have a phone call at 11pm from dh's mum to say that his dad had had a nose bleed for 3 hours and could he take them to A&E. He didn't get home until 2am this morning after having to take him mum home as they kept his dad in. Can't be helped I know, but we were going to take Jack to see Thomas at Barnsley station this morning as a birthday treat. Instead, I'm stuck at home while dh is at hospital this morning. We'll take him tomorrow instead.

Hope everyone OK. I know the feeling about losing the weight. I have gone up a size since having Molly, mainly due to crap eating and no motivation. I had a shock the other day though - I was going through my wardrobe and got out my 'fat' clothes. They are all too tight and some I can't even fasten around my ever expanding stomach! Totally depressed as I can't afford to buy new ones. Looks like I'm living in joggin bottoms and old t-shirts for the summer. I think I'll start Slimming World but do it at home. Think that £5 a week is a bit of a rip off to attend a class (if you look at it as £20 a month it's not that nice!). Good luck everyone who is in the same boat. Perhaps we should all come on here each week and encourage each other!!

HAPPY PADDY'S DAY!

hope you've all got you shamrocks on and your pint of guinness in you hand!

BigHotMama · 18/03/2007 10:11

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its my 1st one and I'm sooo excited! Dh bought me a massage and some white gold earrings off Jackson bless. I've had breaky in bed and we're going out with our parents for lunch at a Chinese buffet yum yum! So am gonna start the diet tomorrow , know how you feel Sarahlou, I look a feckin Budda when I'm sitting down its awful! Thiking of starting weight watchers but not at a class just on my own, its only 5 months until my hols in Portugal and I need to squeeze into a bikini and am so NOT going topless this time due to my ever saggin tittys.

Purple, your ds is gorgeous, what a beauty! Hope he gets better soon!

Pink I didnt have any guiness yesterday but drank about 6 large glasses of vino, went out with the girls for drinks and curry so in a way I did celebrate Did you have some?

Booby, I took ds to get pics done at Boots too and for the special offer of £4.99 10x8 they wont let me view the shots before I buy? How crappy is that? Apparently I have to choose the 1st one by memory and then when I collect that one I can view them all, dont get it?
Hope the one I have chosen looks ok! Say if he's blinked?

Well ladies have a great day as we all deserve it and dont lift a bloody finger! The washing up is piled high from yesterday ready for dh to do

x

NBG - the dog sounds cute, and i love her name!
BHM - i have direct experience of the bikini problem but i gave up worrying after the first day of our hols! and everyone was so nice about dd that i let my mummy tummy display itself with pride

eenybeeny · 18/03/2007 23:06

Hi! Trying BLW with Alex, he seems to be enjoying it more than he did the purees! If you have any pointers for me let me know!

eenybeeny · 19/03/2007 11:17

started a thread about drool -thrilling isnt it?

Do your LO's drool LOADS?????? Alex does and its driving me bonkers! When will it stop?

PinkTulips · 19/03/2007 12:50

is he teething eeny? sore gums can make them very droly

we went swimming today and sarah had to be rescued by the lifegaurd well actually she just tripped and fell in the water while i was at the side getting caleb dressed but the lifegaurd had been watching her very cautiously since another boy had held her under the water earlier on and the poor girl jumped in to 'save' her with all her clothes on... pmsl. i'm glad they're over cautious about the kids but tbh sarah was more upset by the woman jumping in on her and frightening the life out of her than by getting her face wet!

eenybeeny · 19/03/2007 13:00

Pink he seems to always be teething but still no teeth!

Poor lifeguard and Sarah!! How did you feel about it?

PinkTulips · 19/03/2007 13:33

eeny.... i learned a long time ago not to get fazed by these things. she was fine and the lifegaurd was a sweetie so no harm done.

i do think i'll have to invest in one of those floating things for caleb though so i can plop him in that and focus on sarah and teach her to swim though. she's happy in the water and not bothered if her head goes under but i'll be alot happier when she can swim properly

eenybeeny · 19/03/2007 14:13

yeah I dont blame you I think its really important for children to learn to swim, its a safety thing as much as for fun. I'd love to take Alex!

olivo · 19/03/2007 14:54

my dd LOVES swimming- she does the little frog's legs thing, its sooo cute

wanted to say thanks to whoever it was that mentioned about the photos in boots - i took dd this morning and he took some gorgeous ones. going to sort a couple for dh for his birthday next month, as a surprise. got to start saving....

just given dd brocoli for the first time and it is now everywhere! she wasnt a big fan!! she's only had that and melon and banana so far and doesnt actually swallow it, it seems but she loves slurping and making a mess with it so i cant complain!!

eeny - my dd has phases wwhere she is really dribbly but they seem to pass in a few days - still no teeht there either!

hope everyone is ok.

BigHotMama · 19/03/2007 15:02

Crikey Pink, I think I'd be scarred for life if someone dived on me too hope she's ok though. Those floaty things are fab, I let Jackson float on his own in he didnt need to be held constantly.
Oh and happy belated birthday for yesterday, hope you had good day!

Olivo, wish I could feel as proud as you, go girl! But good thing is we are hiring a villa for 7 of us so dont have to get embarassed by loads of people round the poolside staring lol.

Post a piccy of your lil doggy NBG, sounds like a cutie.

Eeny, I'd have said same as Pink about teething causing the drooling, Jackson has it on and off, usually when he's teething as he gnaws everything in sight and has bright pink cheeks too.

Jackson has really dry skin at the moment, so am gonna oil him up with Olivo oil after his bath later, poor thing will stink.
He has tried baked beans mashed with some mash potato today and has been farting like mad, even worse than DH's .

olivo · 19/03/2007 15:26

LOL at the beans BHM. dd has really dry skin too and after trying various creams etc, i'm using e45 junior moisturising mousse, it seems to really help.

sarahlou1uk · 19/03/2007 17:02

BHM - be careful with the baked beans. They have an awful lot of salt in them.

OP posts:
BigHotMama · 19/03/2007 17:13

Dont worry Sarahlou he only had 1 tbsp and didnt eat it all either, just needed something to make the mashed potato a bit more soggier as looked bit stiff? May have to do some sort of gravy or cheese sauce. What does everyone else mix with their mash for the babas?

olivo · 19/03/2007 18:09

just wondered, are any of you girls still dreamfeeding? if not, when did you drop it? if so, how long will you carry on with it? not sure what to do!

dressedupnowheretogo · 19/03/2007 18:09

i dont know whether i'm gonna stop breastfeeding coz where im gonna work is too far for my mum to come to at lunch and will be a pain in ass for chris too so i don't know what to do coz it will be painfull with 9 hours of milk in side me three times a week

sarahlou1uk · 19/03/2007 19:43

BHM - I just mix a bit of her milk in with mashed potato. Makes it a bit easier to swallow.
