Hi girls. New thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
purpleturtle · 02/03/2007 16:02

Well done, Sarahlou.

How is your little one doing?

sarahlou1uk · 02/03/2007 16:03

She's enjoying her food big time! Trying to crawl but not getting very far! Refuses to roll over onto her stomach! How about yours?

OP posts:
purpleturtle · 02/03/2007 16:03

Having taken an interest, just need to say that if I disappear it's because dh turns up with 4 kids to deal with. I despatched him to take them to the park after school, hence the MN time.

purpleturtle · 02/03/2007 16:04

Ds2 is rolling around all over. Desperately trying to crawl, but mainly going backwards on his belly. Very noisy in the process, too.

He is absolutely gorgeous, though, obviously!

purpleturtle · 02/03/2007 16:05

Am I right in thinking you're in Sheffield?

Nbg · 02/03/2007 20:48

Ahhhh look at you all sneaking over here, you little monkeys.

dreamydowler · 03/03/2007 12:59

haha no hiding from me I found you all. how is everyone? Sophie-Jane trying her hardest not to fall over when sitting bless shes still not 6 months yet though. She is eating well though and probably piling the weight on as a result. DD2 is doing well thanks for all the well wishes. She has been showing an interest in this site so hoping she will join too.

Nbg · 03/03/2007 15:18

Oh great news DD. If she doesnt want to join the october antenatal group, she could always come and talk to us.
I'm quite sure you'll be a good font of knowledge for her though

lunavix · 03/03/2007 18:49

Right everyone I'm taking control lol.

I want everyone interested in a meet to list - what dates in the next forseeable months you can do, where you'd like to meet, and where you'd consider meeting.

Eg

me - I can do pretty much any weekends, with enough notice. I could do a weekday but I'd need tons of notice, and if we're bring partners etc so would dh so we both get time off work. If we're not bringing partners it has to be local for public transport!
I'm in Berkshire, if it's a day thing we could probably go as far as Alton Towers (not sure how suitable with babies??) or a weekend anywhere if cheap accomodation locally

Nbg · 03/03/2007 18:58

Ok
I told dh about Alton Towers and he said he didnt want to go

So I could possibly do train journey if I am feeling mega mega brave and its not too far. If thats going to be the case, then it makes no difference what day to me as I'll not be relying on dh's days off.

If we could maybe get something further north than alton towers that would be tons better.

olivo · 03/03/2007 22:17

hello everyone. just a quick greeting to see if you are all ok. we're off on our jollies on monday so wont be with you for a couple of weeks. have never had to take so much luggage in my life - all dd's of course - oh, except for my supersize bikini!!

hope everyone stays well and you get your meet-up sorted out. talk to you soon. x

eenybeeny · 04/03/2007 10:03

Hi Everyone! I am having to work EIGHT HOURS today and I am so nervous. I just want to be home with my baby!

Hope you are all having a good weekend!

Nbg · 04/03/2007 13:03

Oooo good luck Eeny! I'm sure you'll be great.

Olivo, hope you all have a great time. Enjoy yourselves!

I'm happy to report that Ellis slept through last night . From 8:30pm to 5:30am! I started giving him the hungrier formula yesterday so I dont know if that made a difference but the night before he only woke at midnight so it could be a combo of the formula and his own room.
Either way, I'm very happy

Hope your all ok

melsy · 04/03/2007 13:14

heya I see ya sneaking in here nbg!

Good luck today eeeny

Im not sure if I said helloo to you dreamy , you are being such a calm and good mum re dd and her baby to be.

Id love to come on a meet up, just need to see about dh and expense et al.

welll were being crappiola parents again today and not going to a purim party as planned as were BLOODY KNACKERED AND WRECKED, dd1 decided to be devil child and act up half the night saying she had tummy ache , needed a wee, needed water, needed a tissue. Drove dh & I crazy , as it was all a ruse . Especially bad as dd2 is also quite poorly and it kept waking her up , she was in a right state with bunged up nose , temp and cough. I really dontknwo waht to do about dd1, her behaviours gone so crazy, Ive had about as much as I can take.

PinkTulips · 04/03/2007 14:53

arrgghhh, stumbling on for 2 mins to rant at you guys about my shitty weekend. i've had a migraine for 2 days now, my back is in agony, caleb won't sleep andis bering uber clingy, dp has manflu... AGAIN!, and i just want to curl up in a corner and cry

right all done, sorry but had to whinge at someone and although sarah is being very sweet and cuddling me lots and chanting 'mama head sore' repeatedly i need proper sympathy from someone who's not angling for chocolate!

how is everyone, i skimmed through but don't remember much of what i read, although..... CONGRATS EENY! hope the job is ok and i'm so relieved for you you found something, i know how long you've been loking!

well done ellis on that mammoth meal btw! caleb loves his grub but still doesn't eat alot and wants milk constyantly, it's exhausting me now.

did somebody mention broody? coz i think dp and i have decided on a third

PinkTulips · 04/03/2007 14:53

btw... caleb is 7 monthsa now doesn't time fly?!

Nbg · 04/03/2007 15:08

YOU'VE DECIDED ON A THIRD!!!!!!!

Gold medal winging its way to Ireland as we type, lol!

Poor you hun. I hope you feel a bit better soon.
Btw, I am always angling for choc

PinkTulips · 04/03/2007 15:39

why is it she acts as if the food on her plate is poisonous but if we say 'now whatever you do don't eat your fish' she wolfs it down?

toddlers! i hope caleb never becomes one!

lunavix · 04/03/2007 15:59

PT

It was me I'd LOVE a third. Dh says we can't afford it.. blah blahhhh (well he's right but pfft)

How did caleb go with his blueberry pancakes the other day? I wanted to give dd pancakes but wasn't sure if she'd choke or not.

sarahlou1uk · 04/03/2007 20:33

Hi everyone.

Re meet up - alton towers not very good for under 10's so how about Sundown Adventure Land website here

We've been with Jack before and he absolutely LOVED it. Best to go outside of the school hols if possible though - it does get busy but not as much as Alton Towers!! Food very reasonable as well.

Just a suggestion....

Hope you are all ok.

Purple - I had to disappear the other day - molly decided to launch herself out of her bouncer chair! She's OK but I'll now have to find something else for her to sit in as it is only suitable for upto 6 months !! Thinking of getting a bumbo - anyone already got one and use it?

OP posts:
sarahlou1uk · 04/03/2007 20:34

By the way, I'm getting broody again and I would absolutely LOVE a third but not got the bedroom space!! sshhh - don't tell dh, he'll have a panic attack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
lunavix · 04/03/2007 20:37

sarah - I got a bumbo as we don't have a highchair for dd (or even a normal chair for a booster seat)

She can throw herself out of it

I was singing it's praises to all and sundry, and she launched up, flipped, and landed on her forehead

Granted, it wasn't far or a hard surface, but still...

Nbg · 05/03/2007 07:03

Cripes Luna!

See this is what I hear about the Bumbo. Some really love it and their babies do too, others hate it and had bad experiences with them.
I'm glad Ellis can sit up alone now cos it makes things alot easier. He loves his walker too. I keep catching him laughing at himself to his reflection in the oven door

I second Sundown. Have been twice and its fab. The toddlers will love it and and its quite big so lots of space to walk. Plus theres a nice grassy bit for eating, a park, a big sand area, loads.
I could probably get my dh there too.

eenybeeny · 05/03/2007 10:48

I think Sundown sounds nice. Sal and I could go for that.

Pink I am so I cant even get Sal to agree on a second!!! Seriously though I am happy for you. And thanks about the job, I am so relieved I found something. Our babies are some of the oldest on the thread, Alex is 7 months in 3 days! So sorry about your migraine, hope it is gone now!

Luna so sorry about the bumbo thing, we got one for Alex but he only sat in it a few times.

lunavix · 05/03/2007 11:22

okay sundown sounds great.

Would this be a week day or a weekend?

And what month are we thinking? I was possibly thinking May perhaps - it would be getting quite warm then but we wouldn't be engulfed by the heatwave that we had in June?
