Hi girls. New thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BigHotMama · 20/03/2007 15:33

Now why didnt I think of that Sarahlou?? Cheers hun!

Olivo I stopped giving Jackson his dreamfeeds at around 4 months when he moved into his cotbed in his own room, he just didnt seem to want them and actually slept better since tbh.

Booby, hope things get better for you. Lately I've had a few 'off' days where DH cant do right by me and I've basically bitten his head off and told him I dont care bla bla..then he gets all moody on me cuz he thinks I've turnwed into evil woman, but I just have to tell him I cant be all bloody smiles everyday all day. Somedays I just need to shout

Just met my mate for lunch with her 2 week old boy Ethan, he's so tiny but 8lb, cant remember ds being that little , I had a munch and then gave him straight back dont want me getting broody.

The other day I had to get the morning after pill as DH just forgot we aren't using contraception! AAArrrggh!!! Could kill him at times, mind you he said it was the most expensive shag he'd ever had £25 it cost from boots, said he's gonna got to Amsterdam next time as its cheaper! Cheeky Sod!

olivo · 20/03/2007 17:49

lol at your dh BHM!
booby, hope you are ok
dd making me laugh a lot today, lots of singing (well, droning!) and shouting . went to the baby clinic this pm and feeling seriously broody! not good!!

eenybeeny · 20/03/2007 19:07

Booby sorry you and DH are having problems if you need to talk you can email me. I think with relationships you just go through stages like that dont you. Best of luck though!

BHM - LOL at your DH! I wouldnt have taken the pill though I am seriously broooooooooooooooody!

Me and Sal (he will kill me for telling you this) have only had sex once since Alex's arrival. My meds have TOTALLY killed my sex drive. I do miss it though it makes me sad.

eenybeeny · 20/03/2007 19:07

Olivo glad your DD is a delight!! Want to hear Alex sing now!

eenybeeny · 20/03/2007 19:26

this is something happening with me.

olivo · 20/03/2007 20:07

eeny, that's once more than me!!!
your period thing sounds like a nightmare, hope someone takes it seriously this time.

have spent the evening retreiving bits of broccoli and carrot from behind the settee - i love this BLW thing! i naively thought dd was actually swallowing it but obviously having a good chomp and then spitting it out!!

sarahlou1uk · 20/03/2007 20:15

Eeny - when I had Jack 4 yrs ago, I went back on the mini pill. I didn't have a period all the time like you, but I was 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, 2 weeks on, etc. Went to doctors and he said it was the pill and it would eventually settle down. Ended up stopping taking pill and using good old fashioned condoms for a while until I had the mirena coil fitted. (Had this removed soon after as it kept falling down )

Olivo, wait till you give her some sweetcorn. You'll be retriving it from places other than your settee

Eeny, I had a read earlier but I have no experience or advice to give you hun. I hope you get it sorted. It must be a real PITA.
FWIW, my AD's have killed my libido too. Although I suspect alot of it is the fact that Ellis will not sleep!

BHM, I'd have given my dh a personal vasectomy for that kind of thing!

Well once again poor Ellis is full of cold. I'm a bit bothered though because he's very chesty and I'm concious of him getting Broncilitis again. I think if I'm honest, he is asthmatic but I know its very hard to diagnose in children under 2/3 so I think it'll be a case of waiting.
I've also spoke to my mum tonight and shes told me that my dads been diagnosed with Angina . Its such a shock because he really is the healthiest person I know. Hes always played sports, had a healthy diet and he cycles to work.
So am going to have to keep an eye on him because I know full well he'll over do it!

Snowboo · 20/03/2007 20:30

Hi Ladies, what have i missed????

Well wedding was good, ended up rather drunk but woke up fine! Lesson? Drink double vodkas all night....

Austin has a tooth and is taking his first steps! can't belive how fast he is learning! And says hello. very cute.

And finally, today had his final injection! Yay!

Lots and lots to tell but am supposed to be working so will save it for another day...

Hi to you all, hope all is good! xxxx

Nbg · 20/03/2007 20:36

He's taking his first steps and saying hello!

Farking nora Snow!!!
Did you secretly have him well before August?

Snowboo · 20/03/2007 20:38

Hahahaha! Yeah he's really 21 now LOL...

I know, i'm in shock too. After a lazy dh1 this is a whole new ball game to me! Its good thou as i've lost some weight chasing the monkey about......

At least by Christmas Gary Barlow will be all mine with my skinny bod and genius of a child hehehehehe

BigHotMama · 20/03/2007 20:55

Oh Eeny sorry your having an everlasting AF must ne awful hun! Hope you get some answers from your gp soon. I still havent had one yet? think I may have to go get checked myself for not having one!

Ohmygod Snowboo have you got a little genius there or what? Jackson can just about sit up let alone get up and walk ha ha! His latest party trick is slaping his lips together when he's eating its so funny.

Olivo/Eeny lol at you being broody! You know after we had 'done' it I got that feeling that I was sooooo pregnant and my stomach was crampy all night....I used to get that feeling when we were ttc. Brought back memories lol.

Sorry to hear about your dad NBG, thats awful especially when he's taken such good care of his health? Sorry about Ellis' cold too, its this freaky weather, we dont if its sunny or snowing these days.

Well Jackson had a huuuge dinner tonight, had mashed potatoe (again) with carrots and swede and i mixed in a dairlea triangle...he loved it, but still had room for his banana pudding lol. He's gonna be a big lad!

grannycracksopenabottleofwine · 21/03/2007 09:22

hello everyone ds is moving around qiuite quickly now - rolling and shuffling but he is exhausting to look after cos he wants attention all the time and shouts for it very loudly. although when someone else looks after him they say he is a little angel!

eeny - hope you get period problem sorted soon

i'm the opposite to broody - i have an appt next wek to ahve a sterilisation. i have one planned dc, and i'm very careful with contraception. the others happened the 4 times i was not quite so careful

on the subject of coughs - i saw the paediatrician last week and he says coughs will all be over by mid april. i hope he's right

grannycracksopenabottleofwine · 21/03/2007 11:27

forgot to say - on the subject of losing weight - i have gone vegetarian again. i have been several times before, but find i have to plan quite a lot so find it hard to keep up. anyway, every time i go veggie i lose about half a stone. i guess it's because i am eating more healthy foods and cutting out the meat gets rid of a lot of calories and fat. not suggesting anyone does this to lose weight! but if it's something you are interested in, it can be a pleasant side effect

eenybeeny · 21/03/2007 14:24

granny I am vegetarian! but I'm still fat

I am going to the GP tomorrow about the bleeding, wish me luck!

SNOW!!!! at the walking and hello!!! HOW is that possible?!?! Wow!! I am so but happy for you too he sounds lovely.

NBG sorry about your Dad hon. I really feel for you. Hope he is ok.

PinkTulips · 21/03/2007 16:26

nbg... that sucks about your dad. try not to worry too much though, it is a very manageable condition. dp's dad has had it for years and doesn't take care of himself at all (6 pack and a pouch of tobaccoo a day!) and he's fine so if your dad looks after himself he'll hardly know he has it

well done austin! caleb is standing but still doesn't get the concep6t of moving.... on all fours or on 2 legs!

he's teething again... one of his top teeth coming through and i'm having a bad allergic reaction to the chlorine in the swimming pool (i knew it would happen but there's not much i can do... put of going to the swimming pool for years and it's not fair on the kids never to have the chance to go) so we're all shattered.

dd is potty trained! so we're back to just one in nappies thank god (and lots of damp pants but never mind!)

BigHotMama · 21/03/2007 20:50

Pink, sorry to hear about your allergic reaction, hope you get better soon hun!

Think Jackson is teething again, his cheeks bright red, has been constantly moaning all afternoon and was still fighting it when it come to bedtime. In the end i got that fed up with trying to get him off to sleep I put him in his cotbed awake and crying...feel awful for doing it but was the only way I thought he might go to sleep??? Never done this before as cant bear to hear him crying. Anyway after about 10minutes I had to go in as he was crying so bad his face was wet with tears and I could have cried my heart out. I picked him up for literally 1 minute and he was gone...fast asleep. Why wont he jus fall asleep without crying and moaning? Does everyone have this problem getting their lo's to bed at night?

Grannycrackers lol, its the same with ds, everyone who looks after him says he doesnt cry, really happy and sleeps forvever during the day without hassle??? If only they could see him at home with me? And he never sleeps 2 hours during the day for me and cries everytime I put him down, or leave the room.

grannycracksopenabottleofwine · 21/03/2007 21:46

eeny, i still have a lot of weight to lose. how long have you been a vegetarian?

pink - well done on your dd being out of nappies. my dd, 3, still wears a night time nappy. she's often dry but i haven't found the energy to make the effort to get her out of them

bhm - i think our babies just love being with us so much they don't want to miss a minute!

PinkTulips · 22/03/2007 11:43

granny - she's still in night nappies as she still wets alot at night and does a huge poo when she wakes up so we're not tackling that yet! she's brilliant for us so now we're just working on her asking to go in playschool, be interesting to see how that goes today!

caleb screamed most of the night last night, his teeth are really bothering him and he had a fever too. i feel like a zombie now!

eenybeeny · 22/03/2007 17:02

well done on potty training sarah, pink!

grannycrackers I have been vegetarian for 6 years and my dh has been for about... I dont know 15 or more years. I love it!

BHM sorry about your problems getting Jackson to sleep. We often have that with Alex with his nap times, not so much putting him to bed at night. You have my sympathy!

PinkTulips · 22/03/2007 17:09

BHM, there's a few thread somewhere that give details on the gradual withdrawel method that might suit jackson. you gradually ease him into the idea of going to sleep on his own and it means no crying. might be worth a look?

hang on i'll do a search for you....

PinkTulips · 22/03/2007 17:19

aha! i was starting to think i'd imagined it, lol

nappyaddict · 23/03/2007 21:42

BHM - please can you email me about the meetup...

PinkTulips · 24/03/2007 18:17

where are all of you these days?!

lovely weather here, we brought dd for a run on the beach and we were all wearing summer tops and i was in sandals, brought back memories of last year when i was all fat and grumpy with caleb in my belly
