Enjoy having free hands!

mzzzf · 17/11/2015 14:40

Hahaha! Brilliant pics Fatty. Good stuff Grin

FattyNinjaOwl · 17/11/2015 15:49

Oh bloody hell. My dads ex is a psycho! Fuck me. She needs to do one.
I'm awaiting a visit off ss (which will probably never come) as she's said she's phoning them as my kids aren't safe with me Hmm and that I didn't pick DS1 up from school on Friday. (No idea how he got home then!)

Argh! Angry there is so much more to it but I CBA to type it all out. I'm just so angry she is dragging my children into this mess, even if it is only threats. Angry

Lilydreams · 17/11/2015 16:56

Sorry I've not caught up in a while again and will now struggle to remember what everyone's said or who has said what so briefly....

Whoever said about when feeling sad for 'old life' etc to remember how lucky I am to have DS and it's what I wanted you are so right and I think I was just having a wobble the other day! Yesterday wasn't great either as I literally sat in ALL day due to Houdini dog as I didn't want him getting out whilst I was out! I was in a foul mood by the time DH got home but I went for a run (2nd one!) and came back in a much better one although totally knackered!

Whoever it was who has the splash about outfit I have one for DS although mine is a different- doesn't have sleeves and does up with Velcro so you can lie the whole thing flat and put him on it and Velcro him in at the belly and arms if that makes sense- easy to get on off!

Mzzf- I hear you on the money worries and yes you so totally can buy stuff in the sales if you won't be seeing people! I do this with birthdays- if I'm not going to see them that month and I'm abit short I'll wait till I am going to see them till I buy their present! We are also being very frugal this year and only buying for immediate family and only little things at that. I have started drawing cash out at the start of the month and putting it in envelopes so I have a 'petrol' one, a 'food' one a 'nappies and milk' one etc and then I can actually see what we have/ are spending- it's worked a treat so far- one week all I spent was £8 at lidl!! We just need to make it to feb when by my calculations our credit card will be paid off and then all our money is ours again and any overtime will be for nice things!

Oh and I'm with you on DHs being irritating again!! I actually made mine sandwiches last week- one day he left them in the fridge and the next he took them and I saw them in his bag when he got home FFS!! So I won't be doing that again! He 'tidied up' this morning whilst I was at my class- meaning he took stuff from downstairs and dumped it on the floor in our bedroom- you couldn't even see the carpet! Idiot! He also is in a awful mood despite me letting him have the lie in as he has just worked a 7 day stretch with overtime which don't get me wrong I appreciate but then had the cheek when I left in a massive rush to say 'come back in a better mood' as I was shutting the front door!! Cheeky bastard!!! He then said 'smile will you' when I got back later and without going into it basically accused me of never smiling any more and being miserable everyday when he gets in. When I tried to explain how I'd been feeling and so it isn't always easy to be bouncing off the walls everyday and that I had tried (the run etc) to be happier and not snap at him he pretty much suggested I sit on my bum all day and so why am i not ecstatic!! We've pretty much argued all day since with him snapping at anything I've said and accusing me of making him the one who's wrong all the time- he sodding is! He's an arse at the moment!!! Grrrr rant over!

Fatty your 2 look adorable in that sling!

mzzzf · 17/11/2015 17:41

Oh lily that's run off to lidl land together!!!

Joskar · 17/11/2015 17:56

Dh! Where are you?! Why tell me you'll be home early if that isn't true?! So hungry I might eat the children and the dog. But then they're all asleep on me and that's keeping me warm. Dilemma.

Frolicacid · 17/11/2015 19:27

How are we all this evening? I hope everyone's had a good Tuesday. The weather is WILD here tonight.

We've had a mega busy day. I took Ds in to both my main offices and he has spent all afternoon being passed around. He was a little star but is now utterly exhausted and not sure what to do with himself. He's currently sleeping fretfully on my lap. He screams every time I try to put him down. I wouldn't mind, but we are away to Liverpool tomorrow for a short break and I have packing to do.

What a little cutie nolonger. We have a teddy snowsuit and they are just so adorable.

Adorable pics of the little ones enjoying the sling fatty. Enjoy having your hands free.

Nutella for breakfast is the best mzzf!

Sorry so many of you are feeling the rage for dp / dh's this week. I hear you! Mine is off for a week so I'm making a massive effort not to get annoyed about the small things so that we don't end up spending the week competing over who is most tired / has done the most jobs. I am going to leave him with Ds and a bottle in a bit so I can try to get things sorted.
I can't believe how many clothes I'm going to have to take for this little chap in case of vomiting / pooing / weeing issues. my theory is that If I pack plenty, Sod's law will ensure we don't need them Grin

Lilydreams · 17/11/2015 19:52

Mzzf- I'm up for that!! Grin

Joksar- hope he's now home and has prevented you eating the family

Frolic- sounds like you've had a lovely day and well done your little un for being a superstar! If be tempted to tempt the law of Sod by not packing enough for DS which would then be the best excuse to buy him more cute outfits! There are some cute baby boutiques at Liverpool One apparently- haven't been but mil got DS some cute bits from there.

DS had last injections today- well till he's 1- he has been fine with the last 2 and barely even cried last time but isn't a happy bunny today! He hasn't been too bad but then I think he got overtired too and has just howled his little heart out after his bath. He has hardly ever cried like that bless him. I've cranked the white noise up and he has settled and is asleep on me now but keeps doing a sad lip out face and then silent drawing in sobs in his sleep. Poor poppet.

He has forced DH to start prepping tea though as I can't move which is a silver lining I suppose!

We've set up some big runs for the dogs now so hopefully his Houdini ways will stop and I can start going out again!!

mzzzf · 17/11/2015 20:21

General thumbs up/down needed in the ongoing saga of DD's nightwear. Since she hates bags and blankets I've opted for tonight's ensemble of vest, babygro, and over sized fleece 2 piece pjs. No other covers involved in the making of this nighttime production. Ok? Too much/hot or too little/cold?

The fear of overheating is tremendous!!!

Lilydreams · 17/11/2015 20:27

Id say that's probably about right Mzzf- DS last night was in long sleeved best, 2.5 tog bag, v.thin cellular blanket and slightly thicker blanket but tonight I've dropped the thicker one because he's quite warm anyway from his jabs! I agree about the overheating worry- I almost woke him last night prodding at his neck to feel his temp!!

loveandsmiles · 17/11/2015 20:34

MumTum - well after 6 , 4 which were sections, my Tum is never going to look normal againSad. Sometimes I really hate it but then think I am lucky to have all my babies and it's a small price to pay.

fatty looking good with the sling!

joskar hope DH wasn't too late. Mine goes out daily with no phone and wanders home whenever suits him - drives me madAngry

mcgrat I love mincemeat but always pick peel out so started making my own with no peel - only problem is that it's so delish I just eat it straight from the jar!!

Took DD for her first swim yesterday - it was a drama!! Was in with toddler and baby, swimming away when fire alarm went off. Had to get out of pool and got wrapped in foil blankets and escorted to fire exit!! A lovely old lady took charge of toddler leaving me holding baby. The fire brigade arrived and toddler was beside herself with excitement thinking it was Fireman Sam - after frantically waving at firemen they all come over to say hi to her and then they are admiring baby. I am standing there - dripping wet, hair scrapped back and no makeup - beyond horrified - still cringing now.BlushBlushBlush. I ALWAYS have my lippy on!! Will never forget DDs first swim for sure.........

Hope everyone has a peaceful night x

everythingispeachy · 17/11/2015 20:40

Evening everyone. Sorry some of you are having dh/dp issues. Mine is off work this week and I am taking frolics approach of trying to overlook the small things. I know I am a grumpy arse at the moment too. I really think some sex would sort us out but really not feeling it atm. The diet isn't happening. I think I actually put a pound on last week. Sad

Frolic it is amazing how much stuff these babies need. I don't think we will be going anywhere for the time being. My car is too small and we just manage to get the four of us and a suitcase in. Hoping to get something bigger but finances mean I will probably need to wait until I'm back at work.

I am going to try this week to get all the little jobs done that I don't normally get around to. I cleared out some of ds1s old toys today and I have loads of eBay stuff to sell which should help with the finances. I don't think dh and I will get each other presents this Christmas and the boys aren't getting much as they will get loads from relatives and they don't really need much. I am spending money on nice experiences for us instead so we are going to see the stickman and go on the santa steam train. Smile I would definitely get the pressies in January. Who will know?

We'll today has been day 1 of potty training ds1. So far so good. One accident first thing then all other wees were in the potty! He didn't even tell us, just went off and did it. We tried a few months ago and it was a nightmare so it seems he just needed a bit of time. Also ds2 is asleep in the cot bed which we did fit in our room with a bit of furniture shuffling. It seems both my boys are have made big leaps today. They grow so quickly!

Fatty glad you like the sling. I love mine and have only used the pram once with ds2.

Who was watching the Walking Dead? Dh and I usually watch it together but he has started this series without me due to my baby bedtime. Should I try to catch up? Is it worth it?

everythingispeachy · 17/11/2015 20:48

Sorry posted too soon.

Ds2 is asleep now in a vest, babygrow and in a 2.5 tog bag. I feeling a bit chilly so going to pop the heating on for a bit too.

Wow loves you certainly won't forget that. The weather in Edinburgh was awful today I expect Fife wasn't much better. I wouldn't have liked standing outside in my cozzie. Could you even put shoes on? I think a hot chocoleate is the only way to get over that.

Hope it's quiet tonight at mugabe's.

FattyNinjaOwl · 17/11/2015 20:51

Definitely try to catch up with the zombies!

mzzzf · 17/11/2015 21:31

Arrrrgghhh!! She just won't fucking settle AT ALL! She drops off, sleeps for 10mins then wakes up raging. I don't think it's clothing related as her temp feels good. Been trying since 7:30pm!!!!!!

kbro79 · 17/11/2015 21:31

So today, in my sleep deprived state I came home to our block of flats and tried to open the door. Key wouldn't fit in lock. Massive rage at the locks being changed without being notified until I realised something important. I was trying to get into the wrong block of flats!!! Jesus I need some sleep!

That said we had quite a nice day. Yoga in the morning and then lazy afternoon at home. DS even sat in his chair long enough for me to make a start at bringing order back to our kitchen which looks like 10 students live in it.

Also have made a new mum friend. Boldly asked someone for their number. Must not go all catastrophe on her though Wink

Fatty gorgeous pics of the sling. Sorry to hear your having stress though. Rubbish.

Nolonger also cute pic. You go to your in laws a lot. You are a better person than me!!

The no money thing sucks. Must say one of the only benefit to puking for the entire pregnancy that it basically meant we had no social life so we're able to save a fair bit but it is scary how quick we are burning through it. Absolutely buy presents in Jan sales.

Mzzzf I would say that's fine for sleeping. DS wears long sleeved vest, baby grow, thin sleeping bag and blanket. The blanket is more for comfort though as its what he used to have pre sleeping bag. Also have huge fear of over heating but our flat is not usually that warm. Made worse by the fact DH never feels the cold so is also always worrying about over heating. Think we drive each mad stressing about it.

kbro79 · 17/11/2015 21:53

I hear you there mzzzf. DS is wide awake and chatting away on his daddy's lap. All putting down attempts massively failed!!

Lilydreams · 17/11/2015 21:53

Loves that swimming story really had me chuckling sorry!! You must have been mortified and freezing! I think I'd have actually cried!

Aww everything that sounds like you've got a couple of clever little boys there bless them.

Lilydreams · 17/11/2015 21:58

Woah more posts loaded!

Oh Mzzf sending buenos that's not good. I'm fearing an extended stay in Mugabe nights tonight tha Ms to the jabs! DH has just gone up to try and settle DS he's usually been aeep and hour and a half by now but he's really whingey tonight bless him, he only took 4oz before bed too so think I'll be feeding him in the middle of the night also!

Kbro- sorry was chuckling at your story too!! We all really need some sleep don't we!!

I think we all need a baby free lock in at a lidl store!! Grin we could gorge on goodies and then pull some pallets together and make a bed!

Frolicacid · 17/11/2015 22:48

mzzf, I'm so with you! Ds has been doing the cry, sleep for 10 mins, feed a bit, cry.... Repeat thing since about 7. He clearly enjoyed himself a little too much at my work today. And he's still a wee bit snotty. I'm frazzled and not packed at all for our trip tomorrow.

Ds has also taken against my poor right boob today Confused! No idea why, but he's hardly drank from it at all and I've had to pump it to ease the engorgement. So much for any romance tomorrow if I have to take the bloody Brest pump on holiday! Dh always makes a moo sound / milking joke when I'm doing it.

I'm so tempted to 'forget' all of Ds' clothes now that you've said that lily! I reckon I could get away with blaming baby brain. If only maternity pay was better hey?!
I hope Ds is ok after the injections and settles for you.
A lidl lock in is the best idea I've heard since I was offered an epidural! I'm in Grin

That sounds about right to me as well mzzf. Ds is in a vest, baby grow and 2.5 tog bag. Our house is pretty warm. The overheating fear is a mare - especially as I'm always cold and Ds seems to like to be cosy.

That's one swim you certinally won't forget loves! There is definetly something about a fireman.

Yay to your little ones getting on with things everything! Clever boys!
Join me in the corner of the bar taking a shot, a deep breath and reminding myself not to snap over the small stuff?

Lol at trying to get into the wrong block of flats kbro! When I was a few weeks pregnant I got into the wrong car outside tesco Blush
definetly try not to scare your new friend off a la catastrophe!

Good night augmums and babies, I hope there is sleep all around.

Tindel · 18/11/2015 03:42

Our first swimming lesson wasn't as dramatic as loves, but went well - J cried for a bit, but did go underwater, so was very proud of him. Think I might get DH to take him to our local pool for a bit of a splash to get him more used to it. He also made it through the music class without me having to take him away, so very proud of him for that as well. It sort of compensates for him whinging most of the morning.

Think it had a good effect, although he took a while to go down, he slept from about 10ish until now! We did get a large bottle of expressed milk down him at 9pm, which may have helped.

everythingispeachy · 18/11/2015 04:22

I love the cot bed and so does ds2 it seems. 8pm until 4am without a peep! Drinks are on me. Let's go dancing! Please please let this last.

Kbro i have also tried to unlock the wrong car in tesco car park. But I didn't have pregnacy or a baby as an excuse. Grin

Right night night

Giraffescandance1 · 18/11/2015 06:10

Hello all,

Just tried to read/re read the new posts several times but baby keeps waking and crying so apologies I can't remember who said what!

Glad the swimming lessons are going well, I'd like to take baby soon too.

I think baby is getting a cold, so has woken a few times after a good night previously Confused also had poonami at 4am and uses up three nappies and two sleep suits/ gro bags on this occasion so well done dd a new record in the giraffe household, one for the mantelpiece.

I'm finding that white noise apps are still great for getting baby to sleep. She's nearly mastered bf laying in bed so that's great, just need a bit more practice.

How are those with two managing at playgroups? I'm finding that I have to hold baby all the time so dd1 gets a bit abandoned, poor thing Sad

We went to a new playgroup yesterday at our local church. We were all sitting in a big circle for songs, lady at the front on guitar etc. the room went silent when she asked 'is it anyone's birthday?' Everyone looked around in the silence, seeing if anyone had a birthday. So dd1 pipes up 'it's my birthday!' And raises her hand. I was mortified, next thing I know around forty people are singing happy birthday and someone's holding a giant candle for her to blow out, cheering etc. I didn't know what to say, it wasn't her birthday!!!! She refused to blow out the candle so I had to Blush then she cried because she wanted cake (I suspect this is why she claimed her birthday) so another mum (who I don't know) carried her to get her cake for her birthday Shock I am still cringing about the whole experience.

Happy hump day all.

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 18/11/2015 06:33

Morning all, we've had a mixed couple of nights. Grumpy 2 seems to be mastering the art of self soothing and has been putting herself to bed at 8pm. The downside is that she now wakes at 3am for her feed and last night we saw her at 4am and 5am also Sad. At one point we did wonder if she was cold but although her hands were chilly the rest of her seemed fine. It was very draughty last night though with that amazing storm!

Having missed a day yesterday (more visitors, this time my lovely best friend from uni) can't hope to retain everyone's news so apologies for not replying to individuals. In short,

Hope no-one got blown away last night.

Glad to hear swimming lessons going well (crickey love what an event!). We need to get on it with grumpy 1 let alone grumpy 2 Blush

It's my turn for the shower now so must dash. Hope everyone has a nice day ahead Smile
