Morning all Smile

Rra - hope you're both doing ok, all sounds extremely scary but really glad the tests are coming back clear. You definitely deserve as much caffeine/chocolate/cake/alcohol as you can possibly consume.

Sorry to hear about the lack of sleep MzzzF, glad you're surviving the storm though.

Tea and sympathy to you Kbro, it's horrible when it's hard, we're having a pretty good week and I'm trying to enjoy every second coz I know that end of the tether feeling - you are right though, it will pass.

Did you go for a run Lily? I went to a yoga class on wed - first 'proper' exercise since having DS and have been so stiff ever since that I don't think I will ever exercise again!

Fatty, Dozy, Slow and anyone else who posted pics your babies (and toddler) are all gorgeous.

Frolic was it you who recommended Pretty Little Liars? I am now on episode 6 and totally addicted! Just noticed there are like 6 seasons though - hope I don't have to wait that long to find out who A is...

DS is still in 0-3 clothes, he's long and skinny so will probably need 3-6 trousers soon but there's no way he'll fill out the vests and bodysuits, bless him.

I am also in the I Love Friday club, hurrah for the weekend round the corner, and we've got a lovely weekend of no plans so can hopefully have some quality DP and DS time.

Speaking of those two... DP has put DS down for the last 2 nights. And the last 2 nights the little bear has slept 9 hours straight! Not sure what DP's trick is but I am basically planning to never put DS down myself again! Sorry to everyone who now wants to throw a barstool at me, but it came from nowhere so there is definitely hope.

Giraffescandance1 · 13/11/2015 08:54

Ooh I googled the star snugs and love them! I'm going to get one for dd from the tuppence and crumble website Smile

Tindel · 13/11/2015 09:06

clstow I went to a mum and baby yoga class on Wednesday and slept for over an hour when I got back! I don't really do daytime sleeping and didn't think the class was that strenuous, so was amazed! I think I used to sleep well after my pregnancy yoga class as well.

We are getting better nights as we give J a dummy when we first put him to bed and he settles really well. We have to go back up and put it back in a few times for the first hour or so, but I am converted to the power of dummies! Just would like some longer periods of sleep to kick in.

Am equally excited about it being Friday, if a little annoyed about it being Children in Need - I know I'm a misery, but I find it all a bit grating. We used to always go out before J, so will have to find a good film instead...

Anyway, happy Friday to you all!

loveandsmiles · 13/11/2015 09:38

rrra just caught up with thread - thinking of you X. Hope things are looking better today - so very scary but you are in the best place, just wish there were lots of tasty goodies there for you tooSmile

dozy super cute in that snug!

clstow 9hrs!! Your DP has the magic touch!!

It is a school in-service day here today so have the 6 DCs - aaarrrggggg. DD1 (age 13) is going to a birthday party tonight so asked if some friends could come to our house to get ready and have pizza - pleased that she wants to bring friends home but was a bit Shock when she said 5 of them coming at 2pm (party is at 7.30pm) - hoping they will entertain the younger ones all afternoon.....

Frolicacid · 13/11/2015 10:36

Morning all!
Thinking if you rrra and hoping that things are still improving.

We're having a bit of a quiet day today I think. A friend is coming over for lunch and I might go to a thing in the library later, but I might not if the weather is shit.
Mil came over last night and was quite late leaving. She thought I'd asked her to stay, but I hadn't. We could have made her a bed up but she went home in the end. Ds was ready for bed at about 9, but she's barely seen him as she injured her back not long if after he arrived. I stupidly didn't take him up on time and he got very overtired and took hours to settle when we did get to bed.

Piper looks lovely in her snug dozy. I hope she gets back to settling quickly for you again soon. Ds seems to have discovered screaming noises this week. He's never done it before snd I hate it. Nothing seems to have changed, so I think he's just experimenting with his voice.

You can blame me for pretty little liars clstow! I've watched all 6 series since finishing work Blush. It's very addictive. I won't say any more. Enjoy!
You will have to hire your dp out with that kind of talent!

Dummies are great tindel! I just wish Ds would take one a bit more than he does.

5 13 year olds should make great helpers loves! I would also imagine that they will make a lot of noise. Squeals and giggles will drown out the noise of the wind for you!

Happy Friday everyone!

Lilydreams · 13/11/2015 12:08

Mzzf- I can't wait for a proper sleep through either! Jelalous of yours Clstow! I have been having similar nights for he last couple of weeks- he doesn't want feeding- even his first of the day he's not massively interested in, I think he's just not a good in he morning kind of guy like his daddy- but he wakes/ half wakes and I settle him a good 4 or 5 times a night of not more some nights.

Clstow- yes I went for a run can you believe it! I was actually nervous before going as I was dreading what shape I was in but it wasn't as bad as id thought! Aside from the fact I picked the wettest evening of the year yet so I was soaked!! I only did about 2 miles but I only walked once for literally about 10 seconds to get up a mahoosive hill over the railway bridge and it was something horrific like 12.5 minute miles but I did it that it the main thing! I also did the challenges yesterday. Not too sore yet- tommorrow will be the killer!

Frolic- DS seems to have discovered his voice too he now regularly shouts and screams at his toys that dangle over his bouncy chair, it's quite cute but I keep rushing in/ over thinking he's upset and then realising he's just being noisy playing!

Loves- good luck having 11 children in the house Shock you deserve a medal!!

I got up at 7 today to go and get measured for my uniform before DH went to work- DS stayed asleep till 8 the one day I had to get up little monkey!! It's uniform for mental healthcare assistant nurse bank- I got on it last September but then they didn't do checks and induction until February and by then I could barely work the hours for my main job never mind extra so I never got the uniform or did any shifts. I had thought I could do some whilst on mat leave so got the slip for my uniform sent to me the other week before my main job confirmed that I can only work for another employer whilst on smp not omp like I'm on so I have to wait till feb when I'm on A/L!! Thought I may as well use the slip anyway so i don't have to request it again in January but trying it on made me excited to do some shifts!! Sad!! Lol!

So because I did that this morning we missed the group we were going to go to so not much to do today. I'm going to nip and pick up the photos of DS we had done and get a few bits for tea. And I might swing by the library to get a card as I've still not been and it is literally over the road!!

Happy Friday to those that like them! DH is weekend on this weekend so it's like a Tuesday to me really!!

rrra · 13/11/2015 13:25

Hello. DS is doing ok. The drip has been removed, but he is still being tube fed. He still has high flow air, they tried to taper down the amount of oxygen but his stats went down so that is back up again. We'll be in this HDU bed for another night.

poor mite is so poorly and knackered that he is actually sleeping in a cot during the daytime!

Fanby · 13/11/2015 14:00

Muuuuugaaaabe!

Whoever made this 2hr car seat rule clearly hasn't driven in London, there is no where to stop!!!
Had a fabulous holiday, feel a little more refreshed and I think DH appreciates even more what I do with molly on a daily basis. She, to be fair was a delight!! And ESSHK do I share this, errr she slept really well, bed at 8pm most nights and she slept until 4:30 and 7:30am. Don't hate me! We even set up the monitor so we could enjoy some outdoor hot tub time!
Really looking forward to catching up with all the posts when I'm home with a cuppa. Hope all babies and ladies are well xxx

Rra sorry to hear you have to spend another night in hospital- sending healing hugs poor DS.

Fanby! Wow your hol sounds lovely and Molly is cuter than cute! What a clever girl having good sleeps so her Mummy and daddy can have a relaxing break yay!

mzzzf · 13/11/2015 14:40

Fanny - you owe me 10 buenos!! Grin

Fanby · 13/11/2015 16:06

Oooh rrra sending you so much love. Hope he's on the mend now and you're managing to stay strong. Xxxx

Frolic, totes owe you a bueno or 10. Tell you what ill buy you a drink in chez Mugabe, now we're back I'll blatantly see you in there tonight x

Fanby · 13/11/2015 16:06

I mean mzzzf, although buenos all round, why the hell not!!! Grin

FattyNinjaOwl · 13/11/2015 16:26

Argh! MN ate my post.
rrra hope you're ok. And that DS is on the mend, hopefully you will be home tomorrow.

I've been busy all day, but while I've been out I found these and just had to buy them they are so cute. I couldn't leave DD out so she picked a gruffalo dressing gown. Some woman tutted to her friend and said "you would never find me buying my daughter something like that, what's wrong with pink?".
Shock cheeky fecker, nothing wrong with pink, but nothing wrong with gruffalo either! We like the gruffalo!

Fanby · 13/11/2015 16:56

That is so rude fatty!! I hope DD didn't overhear!!!

From the age of 2 I'd pretty much only wear 'boys' clothes, I had a khaki coloured shirt covered in trucks and cars which was a particular fave of mine Smile

Frolicacid · 13/11/2015 17:44

Good afternoon augmums! I hope no one has blown away?
It's windy here, but we've avoided most of the rain so far. It's been nice to get out for a bit of a dog walk.
Ds is heading towards the 4th hour of his nap! Is it weird that I'm tempted to wake him because I miss him?

Well done on your run yesterday lily. What a day to start!

Glad things are ok with Ds rrra. Sending you masses of love and wellness vibes xx

Glad you had a lovely time fanby. You all look fab!
You can totally give me some bueno's if you want!

Those sleepsuits are lovely fatty. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the gruffalo. Some people have very strange ideas!

Tindel · 13/11/2015 18:33

rra thinking of you both and hope tonight is your last night in and you can go home soon.

fanby gorgeous pics, sounds like you had a lovely time.

We were at our music / sensory class today and J got to be a superhero, so couldn't resist getting a sneaky photo

Lilydreams · 13/11/2015 18:51

Fatty those babygros are gorge!! I'd have totally said something to the rude woman! People are idiots!

Tindel that pics well cute!

The rain has been horrendous here today although in fits and starts with sunshine in between so some lovely rainbows!

Picked up DS's photos I've only peeked in the box so far as want to look at them with DH when he gets homes but they look amazing! There's key rings that I can see and a little cellophane bag of sweets and a usb so we can print more ourselves- I opened the little box it was in expecting a big standard usb stick but it's a gorgeous silver heart shaped one!

There's masses of Xmas goodies in lidl btw- I resisted mostly but bought DH some choc coins as he loves them and got some little choc figures that I'll put on the table for each person on Xmas day. Having Xmas at ours for the 1st time and I'm really enjoying buying little bits to make it cute!

DS has just screamed from 6 till 6.30 for no apparent reason!! I'm so not used to it he's usually such a good boy and only cries when he wants something but he was clean, full and I had been trying to get him to nap when he started- bizarre! He's now panned out on me but ill wake him at 7.30 for a bath- wish me luck!!

kbro79 · 13/11/2015 20:25

Rrra hope you and the little guy are doing ok. Agree with mzzzf. Massive bit of perspective for me over a few rubbish nights and tricky days.

So sleep. If 3 times and once more for luck is a pattern then I have broken DS sleep. He had been knocking 5 or 6 hours out each night. Once did 7. This week we are very much back to 2 or 3 hours only. Growth spurt? Sleep regression? Just a baby being a baby?

Anyway despite the bad sleep we had a nice day today. Nothing exciting but he was in a much better fettle and I think I felt much more chilled. And had lower expectations about napping. Had thought that bad night sleep would result in more than a 30 minute nap from DS but not so. Today was prepared for that. Also went out (just to waitrose and bought something called a pot of joy. Is basically a chocolate orange in yoghurt form. Lovely) but made me realise whatever happens DS and I both benefit from a bit of fresh air, some open space and a pram nap.

Also still get big Friday feeling. Lovely to have DH around (despite us having words at 5am over settling DS.....)

Fatty that is ridiculous. People are mad! And so bloody interfering. You kind of become public property as soon as that bump starts to show.

Hope everyone has nice Friday evening and lots of sleep. DS is currently asleep on my lap so going to try and put him in his cot. Easy does it......

Fanby · 13/11/2015 20:45

The wind is immense!!! I do love a good storm, obv it's not that strong down here but I still like watching the trees swaying!

Frolic - I'm the same with molls, get so tempted to wake her!!!

Oh tindel - could not be any cuter!!!! Green is my fave colour too Smile

Ahhh lily - hope your DP gets home at a decent hour so you can have a look at the photos, you're being very good at resisting!

Oh Kbro - I'm wishing you a wonderful weekend. I think having sleep and then it being taken away is the absolute worst. I'm not looking forward to the 4 month sleep regression.
The lack of expectation is a good thing, it really does take the stress out. I know take days one hour at time. My personality type is someone who is always co ordinating and in control and ive really had to lose that side now and learn to go with the flow. If I work to Molly's schedule rather than mine I feel a lot less stressed. Hope you manage to get a break this weekend.

Xxxx

We've moved her cot into our bedroom for tonight, wonder how many times I'll be frequenting the bar???

Lilydreams · 13/11/2015 20:56

Kbro- I agree with the perspective. I've just read on fb that a distant friend (someone I used to go to pole with and whose husband works at my work but doesn't know we know each other if that makes sense) has today miscarried at 25 weeks her DS. I'm devastated for them and can't stop snuggling DS.

Oh and Kbro I think a baby being a baby on the sleep thing! Your pot of joy sounds beautiful I love choc Orange!

Fanby- my favourite colour is green too! Our wedding was Apple green and chocolate brown- sounds awful but was lovely, my bouquet was green cymbidium orchids.

So 2 minutes after my last post DS woke up and started screaming again he was inconsolable and after another half hour I gave him calpol as its so unlike him. He settled within 15 minutes so something must have been hurting the poor poppet. I hate how they can't show us what hurts!

Slowifeandthegrumpydwarfs · 13/11/2015 21:10

Evening all,

Have loved the weather here today, windy but bright blue skies and then occasional showers with the most fantastic rainbows. It's been brill.

One of my best friends from London came up today to visit us and meet grumpy 2. I don't miss living in London at all but I do really miss my friends. Was so great to see her and catch up, we jabbered non-stop. Grumpy 2 is being super engaging at the moment as well, all chuckles and smiles so we had a lot of fun playing with her. I'd forgotten how much I love it once they are out of the newborn phase and become genuinely interactive.

rrra where are you guys up to? Any news on little rrra? Hope you are heading for home tonight xx

fanby nice to hear that you had a good holiday, your photos are lovely. Molly looks a natural in the swimming pool. Good to have you back on the thread.

kbro glad you are feeling more positive today, I agree that getting out with the pram is a bit of a lifesaver. The HV I had for grumpy 1 told me to get out for a walk every day if only because a baby shouting sounds quieter outdoors than it does indoors and is therefore less stressful. She was so right!

fatty people are morons. 'Nuff said. What could possibly be wrong with a child liking the gruffalo!?!

giraffes glad you found and liked the star snug. The medium is massive, if you want to be able to use it now get the small.

I borrowed a Beco carrier off a friend today and loved it so have taken the plunge and ordered one. Very excited for it to arrive now so I can carry grumpy 2 more often, we are both getting a bit fed up of lugging the pram everywhere. My city is not designed for a pram, it's all steps and cobbles!

What has everyone got planned for the weekend? We are off to the rugby tomorrow and then nothing else. The weather is supposed to be dreadful so I think we will be lighting the fire and playing endless rounds of grumpy 1s current favourite board game www.amazon.co.uk/ORCHARD-TOYS-Pirate-Race-Game/dp/B00IE73JRW (presumably your 'friend' in the super market fatty would also object to pirates Grin)

Tindel · 13/11/2015 21:22

Fanby I think letting J set the schedule has been the biggest challenge for me. It is a lot easier if I feed him when he's hungry, let him nap when he's tired etc. It doesn't always work, but we've had too many upsets when I've tried to get clever and go against what he's telling us.

Green is my favourite colour and it's nice to put him in something that's not blue! I was so pleased with him at the class today - he was overwhelmed after about 10 minutes last time, but he got almost to the end this time.

Grok · 14/11/2015 00:08

Evening all,

Hopefully you're all cuddling your DH/DP/DC tonight a bit tighter after all the terribly frightening attacks in Paris tonight. So sad.

Kbro, def founds like sleep regression. Mine is going through it too. She used to sleep 12 hours with one feed, and now only does a few hours at a time and takes ages to settle. The good news is, this too shall pass :)

Tindel, what class were you in? My HV recommended baby massage to help baby soothe and sleep. I'm thinking about signing us up!

Has anyone had troubles with their LO not taking a soother or not liking carriers/wraps? Mine doesn't like either but I'm hoping to try other kinds that might work. I have the Kari Me wrap sling thing but find tying it up and getting DD into it can be too fussy and dd screams. So others we've used Nuk which she used to take but stopped. I tried Tommy tippee cherry soothers tonight but no joy.

Hope everyone is cozy inside with the crazy weather outside!

mzzzf · 14/11/2015 01:39

Grok the Parisian attacks are just grotesquely awful aren't they?! Sometimes I fear the world DD will grow up in but the old hippy in me still ultimately believed it's a beautiful place with (a majority of) beautiful people. But WTF is going through someone's mind to be a suicide bomber...? So sad.

DD went down at 8.15 for me tonight and had only just woken now for milk/cuddle. She's only taken about s quarter of her bottle. I can feel she's got a sizeable wee in her nappy but bad mum alert I'm not changing it right now as she's not bothered by it as she's falling asleep on me again. I'm not messing with the zzzz's!

Weather is howling in Glasgow tonight and apparently it's not that much better in the Lake District over the weekend so the wedding could be fun!! Grin

Re the carriers/wraps. Sometimes if mini mzzzf is in s tizz or just a bit grumpy then she'll scream bloody murder and wriggle for the first 5-10mins, gradually getting quieter, then will inevitably conk out. Have you given it enough time each ho maybe?!

And I've found the best dummies to be the MAM ones. Plus they glow in the dark do it's easier to replace dans le gob in the middle of the night!

Hot toddies and comforting cheeky coffees all right on a night like tonight at Mugabe Nights. Lots of virtual hugs to one another (I massively appreciate you ladies!!) and a candle on the go for Paris x

FattyNinjaOwl · 14/11/2015 03:16

I've not long got home. I've been in hospital with my friend. She's 14 weeks pregnant and her (now ex) bf, punched her in the stomach a couple of days ago. She's sort of been in shock I think. She has got her keys back and he's left (I made sure of it) and then we've been up to the hospital. She ended up phoning another friend to come and take me home and then go back to her as we had been there 5 hours and she still hadnt been seen, and she felt bad at having me away from the DCs.
I hope she's OK.

How is everyone?
