Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ZylaB · 07/07/2015 12:15

Me and H have got stinking colds, luckily she's just about ok breathing to feed. Poor love, I got the calpol out and she's sleeping now. It's also pissing it down so I'm not going to playgroup this afternoon! MrZ goes away tomorrow morning until Friday for work, not looking forward to is, especially as I feel shit and H is grouchy when she's poorly :(

WilHarlot · 07/07/2015 15:10

Oh that sucks zyla.

I've had a lovely day but could do with a nap that's never going to happen. I'm trying to hide in the car whilst microwill has a sleep.

ZylaB · 07/07/2015 16:03

Hah wil that thing when you get home but don't move in the hope they stay asleep?? :) hope you get a nap

PixieChops · 07/07/2015 18:32

Lol wil ive been there! I used to leave P in her car seat and leave the front door wide open so I could keep an eye on her in between jobs!
Pis enjoy your night out. I never went out after having P and since having R I have a massive urge to get drunk and reclaim some of my social life back! I really wish we would've made more of an effort to go out and do stuff when we had the chance.

Well I pretty much had a bitch fit yesterday. R was constantly crying and wouldn't stop. I'd had a grand total of 5 hours sleep in 3 days and was feeling extremely grumpy. P had gone down for her afternoon nap yesterday and I was also hoping for a nap and willing R to sleep but he just wasn't having any of it and continued to fuss and cry.
In the end I rang my mum. Id had enough! I was desperate and exhausted. Within an hour she'd wisked R away for a sleepover at her house so me and MrPixie only had to deal with P. She slept through and we were in bed for 8pm (somehow I managed to be up for a bit of dtd- maybe it was just an energy burst from knowing I was going to get a good kip!) anyway I slept for pretty much 11 hours.
I still have a killer headache and I'm currently blind in one eye (5 days that's been going on for) but I feel loads better.
My parents are coming to ours tonight (for round 2) and babysitting so me and MrPixie can go out for dinner (and I can drink some rum) which will be nice as we haven't done anything just the two of us in months!
Another bonus is that MrPixie is also on R watch tonight so I'll get another 8 hours in! Bonus!!!

RPopz · 07/07/2015 18:34

Bummer Zy Sad I've got a cold too, feels like one side of my face is about to fall off!

Glad you got a bit more sleep Tee. Sounds like you're doing really well with the expressing. I gripe a bit about not being able to go out without minipopz (not that I've got anywhere to go!) but it's my own fault for never building up a boob milk stash I suppose.

Met my sisters for lunch today and heard about all the delightful things DM has been bitching about me for (apparently me telling her I didn't want to go and visit her, DH trying to take advantage of her and take all her money, DH using her debit card to buy loads of stuff for himself, me "starving" minipopz... All total bollocks). Had hoped she might be a reformed character after the whole near death experience thing, me rushing round wiping her arse for her for the last 4 months with a newborn in tow etc etc. Apparently not! Angry

RPopz · 07/07/2015 18:35

Blind in one eye pix?!?

FurryScoob · 07/07/2015 18:50

Enjoy your night out pixie

Flowers for the snotty viroids, calpol vapour plug ins worked really well for miniscoob & there only £5 in asda at the moment.

No advise on the milk expressing, I never had enough for feeding never mind anything else.

popz your mum sounds extremely ungrateful, hope the rest of your family realise your mums taking rubbish.

Weanings going well here, miniscoob now snacks on magazines & post Confused who needs a dog!

WilHarlot · 07/07/2015 20:41

Grin Scoob.

Pixie what do you mean blind in one eye?!

Popz that's utterly horrendous of your Mum. Was it a good idea of your sisters to tell you really? Your mum is bloody lucky to have you and I'm sorry that she can't appreciate it Thanks .

I'm the same about moaning I can't leave the baby but I should have made more of an effort with the bottle initially. It just seemed like such hard work at the time though. Mind you the wee bugger darling could at least give me a night's sleep by now.

RPopz · 07/07/2015 20:54

Oh minipopz is into paper... Especially takeaway menus and train tickets! Shock Its all roughage right....?

I don't know how we got onto the subject Wil but I'm not surprised really. She did it while she was staying here -bitching about DH to me in his own bloody house. She can be incredibly ungrateful.

RPopz · 07/07/2015 20:56

What's her sleep like now wil? MiniP had "4 month" sleep regression til about a week ago where he was taking forever to go down and then waking every 2 hours. He's doing about 4-5 hour stretches again now though.

rm00054 · 07/07/2015 22:15

He's only 13 days, so I guess too early to express properly?

Feeding has gone worse than worse today. I have a rare circulation disorder which apparently affects my nipples when breastfeeding too. It's so painful, today I was in tears all afternoon Sad DH has been great, looking after both me and baby! I couldn't bear the thought of feeding and was getting worried baby would be getting dehydrated so I sent DH out to get some emergency formula. Both me and baby are much happier now he's got something inside him. Hopefully I can persevere with the breastfeeding but if I can't again I'm much happier knowing we've got the formula. And DH is also happy he can take over some of the feeding responsibilities.

Why is breastfeeding so difficult?!

Sorry to bring the Fred down.

PixieChops · 07/07/2015 22:24

Rm breastfeeding is bloody hard work, you've done really well to stick at it, I did it for a day and gave up (tongue tied baby with low blood sugar) in the end you have to do what's best for your baby. R was thought to have Jaundice and when Mw asked how I was feeding him and I said formula she said "good that's the best thing for him" I was shocked as it's always breastfeeding which is rammed down our throats to be best and that formula is the devils drink!

I'm not completely blind in one eye but it's unbelievably fuzzy and I've had a headache pretty much now for 3 weeks. I'm going to the docs on Thursday morning and hoping they'll sort something out as it really bloody hurts!
Had a really nice time out, didn't stay out long but it was good just to chat and be ourselves with no kids! Smile

RPopz · 07/07/2015 22:25

Don't worry about that rm - many of us have been there. Breastfeeding is tough, those first few weeks are killer. I was in no way prepared for how hard it was at first. Hope miniRM does a decent sleep with some formula in his belly and you and your nips will be back fighting fit tomorrow! Brew Thanks

Might nipple shields help with your issue?

RPopz · 07/07/2015 22:26

Glad you had a good night Pixie Smile

WilHarlot · 08/07/2015 08:28

It's so hard at the start Rm but it does get much easier after about 6 weeks. I did exactly what you did when MiniWil was about the same age. Finding a bfing support group really helped me. That being said, do what's right for you - noones giving out any medals.

No 4 month regression here Popz as she's never slept well enough to notice it. Saying that she now goes about three hours instead of two.

teejayem · 08/07/2015 10:11

Jesus Christ, I've just had to get IN the bath with TT after the poonado to end all poonados. He even managed to get it on the Death Star lamp in his room, Christ knows how I'll clean it. Poor little guy has been supergrumps all night and no wonder if that's what was on the brew...

We need to move house Sad our lease is up at the end of the month and it's just too expensive with me on ml. I am so bummed, I love our house and we've done so much work on it. Really rare to find a landlord as accommodating as ours; thee cats, two drumkits, and was happy to let us redecorate how we wanted. Plus it is quite a naice area, close to fast London train etc. The only way we'd be able to afford it is if I went back to work in December, and I'm just not happy sending TT to a stranger at 6 months. (Plus the cost is extortionate) - my salary would cover my half of the rent and childcare with nothing spare. So we need to move further out, which is fine, but we only started talking about it last night and Mr tee has emailed our landlord this morning to say we are not going to be able to renew another year , the bloody tenancy runs out in two weeks!! I bloody hope he lets us in a rolling month contract or we have two weeks to sort a house and move. I love him but he is a fucking chump sometimes...

RPopz · 08/07/2015 11:12

I'm sure he'll let it roll, if he's been really decent up til now Tee. Seems a shame to have to move though, especially with TT being so young. Could you try and work something out with the Landlord?

WilHarlot · 08/07/2015 11:16

Oh fuck Tee. Surely he'll give you time though? He sounds quite accommodating. Probably a good time to move anyway if TinyTee has just covered the place in shit Grin .

Childcare is expensive but someone once reminded me not to look at it as all money coming out of mother's wage as it makes it seem worse. Going back to work is a sensible choice financially if there is a net gain for the whole household. Although this comes from someone not going back to work.

RPopz · 08/07/2015 11:56

Grin Wil

ZylaB · 08/07/2015 16:49

Hehe at poonami tee and I hope landlord continues to be nice and let's you go month by month!

pixie hope your eye gets better!

New pram arrived and it does fold up dinky! Will be really good for taking away/keeping in the car without using up all the space :)

PixieChops · 08/07/2015 17:06

Oh Tee! I'm sorry to hear about that, hope your landlord is understanding and let's you stay until you can find
something suitable.

I can actually see today and my headache has gone! 2 good nights sleep has well and truly sorted me out.
Took P to a playgroup today and she's covered in paint Confused not that I'm arsed but she did it 5 minutes before we were going to leave and I'd managed to keep her relatively clean for nearly 2 hours!

RPopz · 08/07/2015 20:33

Oooh what did you get Zy? DM is desperate to buy minipopz a buggy... or she was before she started being an ass... Hmm

ZylaB · 08/07/2015 21:44

It's a baby jogger city mini zip, got it for travelling and when the car is full dos the fold is small!

Minion · 09/07/2015 01:13

popz, I'm Grrrrrrrr on your behalf! Like you need that shit!
Night wakings have restarted. I feel tee th numbers 4 and 5 may show up soon enough
The bastards!

ZylaB · 09/07/2015 10:07

Just had to go and get antiseptic sudocrem for H's neck crease. Poor love, she's got a cold and since having it her crease has been red, also think hot weather isn't helping. Have been cleaning and drying it and putting some bepanthen on it which has always been ace up to now, but this morning it was really bad! Pharmacist blames the weather, but I feel bad cos it's sore. Going to clean, dry and sudocrem it 4 or 5 times a day, poor H is in the wars at the moment!
