Mmmmm Jaffa cakes!!

Owee pis that sounds horribly painful!!

So E was at nursery today and at the end of the day we join up so I got to be with him for a while (yay) anywho he wanted to walk he can take 3 or 4 steps by himself but then gets to excited and launches himself at us. One of my work colleagues was sat about 6-7ft away and he walked all the way there really steady and slowly! We all cheered, when he walked back to me he got to excited and launched himself to quickly and fell over Grin

Well done all you ladies for bf and persevering with it when it's so bloody hard, stressful and painful. Despite the pro bf message I've found that it's hard to find the right support to make it work once the baby's born. It didn't work out for us (baby had 100% tongue tie and we couldn't get bf established, sadly) so now trying to get to grips with formula feeding. Any tips on how to make the sterilising/ kettle boiling/ milk cooling with a hungry baby screaming at you a bit easier
would be much appreciated!

Oooh whoops I forgot to say hello to snap

So hello snap Grin

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 07/08/2015 20:17

Hello cookielove! How old is your intrepid explorer?

cookielove · 07/08/2015 20:18

He will be one on Thursday Shock

minimooo · 07/08/2015 20:22

Haha popz I type pretty slow jaffa cake gobble machine Grin

snap get thee a tomee tippee perfect prep machine! I've been formula feeding for about 10 weeks now and I absolutely couldn't live without my perfect prep. It's a bit pricey but so so so worth it. Get it next day delivery from Amazon. Honestly, I promise you won't regret it!

minimooo · 07/08/2015 20:23

Yay for E's walking skills! Wow, one year old already. cookie that's gone so quickly! Shock

cookielove · 07/08/2015 20:34

I second the perfect prep machine! I love ours!! Grin

I know mino I cannot believe how quick it has gone!!

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 07/08/2015 20:41

Ooh minimoo, thanks for that, sounds amazing! I wonder if you can use it with a different bottle brand, I will investigate.

Cookie, a year old, such a bittersweet milestone!

WilHarlot · 07/08/2015 22:02

Still can't believe he's one. Our babies are getting so old Sad Sad Sad . I'm really sad about this because I won't have another one.

DulcetMoans · 07/08/2015 22:05

Quick stop off to drop a link for perfect prep machine - came up on our local NCT page. Not used this site myself but if it's all good then that's less that half price!

www.playpennies.com/tommee-tippee-closer-nature-perfect-prep-for-under-fifty-quid-delivered-code-amazon-135391

I'll check back in about 2am to catch up I expect!

RPopz · 07/08/2015 22:14

Walking! That's amazing cookie Smile Can't believe he's a year old already either. Where's the time gone eh.

Aw Wil - I imagine it's quite bittersweet having your last baby. All their little firsts are your "lasts". I keep getting stupidly paranoid about secondary infertility and not being able to have another! I am a drama llama.

KatoPotato · 07/08/2015 22:26

Hi snap! You can use any bottle with the perfect prep, but if it's a bit spendy here's what I did with ds1. It's basically the manual version of the perfect prep machine:

Sterilise all your bottles and fill with boiled water minus two oz. Pop them all in the fridge. When it's feed time add boiling water to the cold to make up the required level, add your powder (dispensers make this eve easier - brother max do an excellent one) and shake. Feed is at perfect temp.

This is also a good method for out and about, just take the bottle with water, some powder in a dispenser and a flask of boiling water.

KatoPotato · 07/08/2015 22:27

Ps: you might want to experiment with the amount of boiling water:cold ratio, depending on the size needed! But you can play about with just water. If you don't refrigerate the bottles you'd need less boiling etc.

WilHarlot · 07/08/2015 22:36

We need a new fred. Anyone on pc?

PixieChops · 07/08/2015 22:39

Is there a new Fred?

Popz R was 12lb 4oz at 5 weeks old and he's on the 91st percentile for weight. He'll be on steaks at 6 months!

Depending on whether or not Mini is autistic Wil there's loads of stuff out there and lots of help with regards to the severity of it. I've worked with both ends of the spectrum in children. As long as he/ she gets the help they need at an early age it'll be a lot easier for you to deal with xx I have my fx for good news for you though Thanks

LaLaLaaaa · 07/08/2015 22:39

Hi everyone I'll catch up ASAP but in the meantime please can you think positive thoughts for my wee boy. We are in the hospital as he seemed but off today and I took him to doctor. He had fever so we've been admitted for 48 hours. He's had blood and urine tests and has a wee canular in his arm - his screams broke my heart :(

Can't believe we are back here only a week after leaving. He seems better now he's had pain relief but he's been groaning with pain all afternoon. He's very sleepy and struggling to feed.

I am so worried

deeplybaffled · 07/08/2015 22:44

la - so sorry to hear that, and will hope that he bounces back really quickly. Unmumsnetty hugs Flowers

KatoPotato · 07/08/2015 22:44

Oh fuck la! Sending so much love and positive vibes! They can go down quick but they improve really quick too. God your mothers instinct must be razor sharp. What have they told you so far??

RPopz · 07/08/2015 22:47

pixie - I'm just curious as to why the dietician wants him to wean early due to size! Someone has to be on the 91st percentile... I don't remember how much miniP weighed at 5wks but he was almost a stone at 8wks old. I haven't had him weighed since! I know R has additional issues with his intolerance but - I don't get it!

RPopz · 07/08/2015 22:48

oh La - rubbish X post. Gentle hugs to you and B x

PixieChops · 07/08/2015 22:48

Katos right they do improve quickly x really hope he gets better soon, love and hugs to you all and well done you for taking him straight to hospital. Some people would've just kept him at home for a bit longer to not cause a fuss xx Thanks

PixieChops · 07/08/2015 22:49

He's jumped 2 percentiles due to feeding, they say they can jump up 1 but 2 is a huge different so she feels he'll benefit from solids at an earlier age.
