Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ZylaB · 06/08/2015 20:09

Someone slap me please...we just packed away the sidecar crib thingy cos it's too small - she can't roll onto her side properly without burying her face into the side of it, even though it's still long enough for her - and I blubbed!!

She's 6 months on sat ffs.

She's going in the travel cot in our room for a few weeks until we go away to get her used to that, then into her own room when we come back. I liked being able to open my eyes and see my little baby

Slap me again, in the next breath I'm saying I can't wait until she sits up for longer than 45 seconds to play with toys!

RPopz · 06/08/2015 20:25

I felt similar when we put the bednest away Zyla! I don't think he even noticed he wasn't sleeping by me anymore haha! Shock

Have you got a fan for the bedroom La? Its about 20 degrees here and I've put Isaac to bed in a babygrow. He's got a thin summer sleeping bag which I'll prob put him in later. When it was really warm I just put him to bed in a vest/bodysuit and put a blanket/ muslin over him later if needed. Giant muslins have 1001 uses! Smile

Lol at MrLa and his obsessive tidying Grin

Hugs wil - is she seeing anyone you could get advice from?

RPopz · 06/08/2015 20:28

I'd say go with the caboo sling wise - you won't get much wear out of it otherwise. I'd dress him quite minimally, depending on the weather obvs, as the sling itself counts as three layers (from the two passes and the top layer). Plus I'd be say it'll be more forgiving on your c-section scar. The waistband on the ergo is quite chunky.

WilHarlot · 06/08/2015 21:33

We have a paeds app at the end of the month. I have a friend who has been quite helpful though which is good. May just have had a bit of a cry on MrWil, must get a grip.

cookielove · 06/08/2015 21:35

Hello

E's room is 24 and he is in a long sleeve vest and a 1 tog bag! I have a thing about his arms being covered! The only time his arms have been out is when we had the heatwave and his room hit 27.

Everything I've read about co-sleeping always says don't do it if you have a preemie (I have one of those) if you smoke, and if you have a memory foam mattress (I assume there were other rules that I have forgotten) the matteress being an issues as they may sink and being little not be able to escape and of course over heating!

LaLaLaaaa · 06/08/2015 22:06

Wil it can't be easy but you are doing great xx

Thanks for outfit advice he's now in baby grow with short sleeves and no legs and I'll put blanket on him

His breathing stresses me out. He pants a lot, party after nappy change, as if stressed. He's just had a half hour crying fit and then panted to the point where I almost phoned hospital. Now his breathing is normal again.

RPopz · 06/08/2015 22:26

You're entitled to be upset wil xx

Minipopz was quite a panty baby I think? His nose was blocked for ages as well from all the birth goo.

The frigging neighbours have gone away for the night and left their dog behind. It keeps barking and howling, which is upsetting puppypopz. And will upset me considerably if I can't get to sleep tonight!! Angry Who even does that!?

RPopz · 06/08/2015 22:34

Also he really flipping hated being interfered with (nappy changes, dressed/ undressed etc). I think that's a generic newborn thing.

DulcetMoans · 07/08/2015 02:10

There are bound to be days it fetid harder than others wil. Are you optimistic about the appointment coming up?

They breath weird and make funny noises all the time la, it's really concerning. J whines and squeaks while feeding, sounds like it's hurts almost. But I think it's all ok, just trust what you think is normal for your baby. Hard at the beginning while your learning him though!

DH does sound a bit unreasonable there fleur. Is he the type you can sit and have a talk to, clear the air?

Poor doggy popz! Do you know how long they've gone for?

Sad news on the cot progression zyla but all necessary! Where are you going for camping? It's brave but fun I'm sure!

I breastfed in public today for the first time! It was a BFing even so everyone was but a good way to ease me in. Saw the rest of my NCT group too, nice to see grown ups!

ZylaB · 07/08/2015 06:22

We're not going camping dulcet? Did I have a dodgy one handed typo? Grin. We're off on a cruise in September :) :)

DulcetMoans · 07/08/2015 07:13

Haha. Sorry zyla, brain must be making stuff up now! Cruise will be much easier hopefully!

PixieChops · 07/08/2015 07:50

Well done Dulce for getting out and about!
Sorry Wil I seem to have missed something, why are you off to the paed? Hope everything's okThanks
Aww Zyla that poor pooch and poor you! I'd be going a bit bat shit as well

R went to the dietitian yesterday, he's been confirmed as having a dairy intolerance and will be on this new formula until he's 1. We also have to make sure when he's being weaned that he's not having any kind of dairy (you'd think this was simple but dairy haas so many bloody names! Confused)
He needs to be fully weaned at 6 months so I must start at 4 months! Not because of the intolerance but the fact that he's huge and he's in 3-6 month clothes at 7 weeks old and is on the 91st percentile for weight!!! He's also on the 98th for length so he should even out a bit eventually.
Also told her about the nightmare I had getting the Drs to listen to me about Rs intolerance and she was furious and is writing my Drs practice a letter Grin she's also telling them that there's no way that he's going back on his old formula after a month for a couple of days to see if his symptoms come back (which is what the Dr said I must do) I really like our dietitian.
P is off to the childminders for the first time ever today. I am so nervous, I really hope she isn't upset all day, I'll be devastated Sad

PixieChops · 07/08/2015 07:53

La baby noises are scary, with P I used to jump out of bed because she'd sound like she was choking, or she used to squeal a lot in her sleep!
R just grunts a lot but I don't even bother to look at him because I know now it's just something babies do. If you have another one you'll probably be the same but with your first you always shit yourself, I nearly gave myself a mental breakdown worrying all the time with P!

WilHarlot · 07/08/2015 08:19

As long as he is sorting his breathing out by himself I wouldn't worry La. Only thing to look out for would be asthma if it's in the family but I think that would get worse quickly and not resolve itself.

Great news Pixie! The df weaning isn't too hard these days as all allergens are listed in bold on the back of packets. It's a pain in the arse having to avoid yoghurts and cheese sauces though. I've just read that avoiding dairy in pregnancy would have lowered the risk of an allergy. Someone could have told me that before, after Mini had problems Angry . Something to note if you're planning any more children Pixie.

Alas not too hopeful about the appointment after speaking to other local mums Dulcet but it's a necessary part of the process. It's an assessment appointment so won't actually give me any practical advice as yet. Pixie I think Mini has autism.

WilHarlot · 07/08/2015 08:21

Also well done for bfing in public! You'll start to find it less daunting now I'm sure. Micro is also doing the moving her head away whilst still attached to nipple thing - so fucking sore!

RPopz · 07/08/2015 10:34

Well done on public bf Dulce! I'm sure the first time is the worst, you'll get a knack for it soon. Glad to hear you've been out and about too. Nearly survived a whole week flying solo! Wink

Neighbours have got a caravan, they regularly take kids away to it and leave dog behind Hmm Another neighbour checks in on it a couple of times a day but it's not good enough really. I wouldn't have a house to come back to it I did that with ours!! Shock Not sure when they'll be back.

How much does R weigh pixie!? Sounds like a lot of puree making in your future.... Wink

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 07/08/2015 11:05

Morning ladies

You seem a friendly and supportive bunch and I wondered if it's ok to join your thread for a bit of light relief and moral support? Currently in the throes of coping with 5 week old and 3 year old and reassuring to see people on here going through a lot of the same experiences/ dark moments!

WilHarlot · 07/08/2015 11:10

Poor dog Popz.

Hi and welcome to the madness Snapdragon. I know that feeling well, you'll survive (if only just) Wink . Is the baby letting you sleep any?

SnapdragonAzZ09 · 07/08/2015 11:22

Thanks WilHarlot! Baby R (DS 2) sleeps like a dream when sweatily welded to me but screams like I'm sticking hot pins in his eyes when put down! Have been using a sling but it's just so hot at the mo. At night he'll sleep if swaddled, but again it seems too hot. One of those babes that needs to be held close ALL the time I guess!

Pisghetti · 07/08/2015 14:56

Hello viroids! I'm in the land that mobile data forgot - thankfully I have wifi. Spent 15 mins in the sun yesterday - got totally roasted boobies Shock slathered on the factor 50 today - it's pissing it down Grin you know how when you go away you always forget one thing? We forgot the raincovers for the pram and none of us have a waterproof large enough to go around BabyPis in the sling so she and I are under house arrest while DP and DS are out trying to find a shop so we aren't forced to have toast and biscuits for all three meals today Wink she was in a foul mood earlier with one glowing red cheek but after some magic crack cocaine baby teething powder she is all sunny again Smile

Hi Snap

Aww Zyla I don't blame you for feeling that way - I reckon I'll be the same when the time comes.

Fleur is be Angry in your shoes. How dare he think he knows better than you how to look after your baby? He clearly knows shit when he can't even pick up after himself....

Hope you're ok Wil x would there be coping strategies on the SEN boards or is there an autism association who might have some info?

Pisghetti · 07/08/2015 14:57

BabyPis keeps pinching the burnt skin when she's feeding Sad

WilHarlot · 07/08/2015 16:16

Yowch Pis, Aloe Vera? Where are you?

Yeah I'm on some fb pages. I'll figure it out.

minimooo · 07/08/2015 17:17

Ooh ouch, pis! Poor thing. Hope the holibobs improve!

wil that sounds very stressful. Not something I have any experience of so I can't offer any advice I'm afraid, but I hope you get what you need from the paed so you can move forward Flowers

fleur that must be very annoying to have dh giving out instructions like that. I'd be pissed off too. Good news on the dog being moved though.

Welcome snap!

Well done dulcet! Brilliant that you've been able to bf in public. How does it feel to get to the end of the week without dh in the daytime? Getting out and about makes everything feel a lot easier ime. And it helps the day pass.

Glad you've gotten somewhere with the dietician pixie. Must be a weight off your mind to have the support and the correct formula for R.

I've just eaten an entire pack of jaffa cakes while writing this post. Feel sick, urghhhh Shock

RPopz · 07/08/2015 18:28

Blimey mini! Did you eat really fast or type really slow?? Grin

Hi snapdragon Smile

Gutted Pis! Hope you get a decent dinner and the weather improves! That bloody rain cover is like my parental kryptonite. I never remember to take it anywhere.

Minion · 07/08/2015 19:22

Hi folks"
Back in the land of good weather, it was absolutely shockingly cold and wet over there. No wonder it's the Emerald Isle, so green.
I've read through but there's so much since my last visit it's hard to keep up.
Well done dulce, Bfing in public is brilliant.
R has me confused again. After turning her nose at milk since week 8, today she's done a complete 180 and snarfed her full bottle (170), then 110, then 170 and just had another 200.
It may only last the day but I'm over the moon.
