ZylaB · 03/07/2015 22:57

cookie don't be daft, of course you didn't! Grin

juni I used to be hugely fussy and I suppose I still am but have come on loads since I met MrZ, so I'm hoping H will take after him!

In my pissed state I tld MrZ I want another! H isn't even 5 months yet, wtf is wrong with me? apart from knowing I'm an old fart and finding out ore eclampsia didn't start of kidney problems as a diabetic

ZylaB · 03/07/2015 22:58

Oh, and being drunk, I luffs you lot! You've all helped me cope so much, especially the first couple of months which were so so hard, thank you! Xxx

PixieChops · 04/07/2015 02:21

Wil don't get too jealous... I'm up because DD has thrown up everywhere, and now there's a storm coming so looks like a long night for me HmmConfused

Minion · 04/07/2015 07:34

Long night here too! Screaming head off in her sleep from 1:30-4:30! The little monster is wriggling around her cot so much and going onto her front, gals asleep then wakes up and needs us to turn her back (even tho she mastered that before front to back rolls). Then when you turn her, goes back onto her tummy.
Wonder how long it'll take her to realise tummy sleeping is much better..
Yawny yawn

PixieChops · 04/07/2015 07:54

Well I managed to put her back in her cot (after stripping it) at around 3:30am and she's still fast asleep bless her. She's not been sick again which is good but she's supposed to be at a 1st birthday party today so going to have to see how she gets on this morning before I decide whether or not we can go.
I know one thing- DD is going to need a bath when she's up! She brought up burger and cheese and cheesy sick stinks!

cookielove · 04/07/2015 09:11

Ewwwww pixie that sounds grim! Fx she is fine for her party :)

wil before food we had no routine at all, just winging it!

E is his bed napping! Yay for self settling babies :)

min we had the reverse as E was a tummy sleeper he would roll onto his back and then wake up crying cause he was "stuck" he was quite able to roll over both ways during the day Hmm fx this pass quickly for you :)

minimooo · 04/07/2015 10:38

Morning! Lagging behind a bit, only adding stats on 3rd page, oops!

Name: Minimoo
Age: 31
Dc: dd who is 9 weeks old tomorrow
Any more? Not on your nelly. Not after that birth!

Been so busy the last week, I've not had time to mn. Have made good progress though and can now walk about outside, yippee! I walked all the way into town and back yesterday (about a 15 min walk each way) with the pram. Felt amazing to get out and about. Even if it was to go to the dentist

Been having almighty rows with dh which has been truly horrible. Can't work out if it's because he's being unreasonable or because I'm tired and hormonal (started my first post-pg period a few days ago, boo!) Suspect it's probably a bit of both.

Shame about the disturbed sleep pixie! Hope you can still go to the party today.

Ha zyla, hope you had a good night and you're not suffering too much this morning Grin

Loving all the baby rolling. E has started to make moves to push herself over. She's going to get a shock when she finally does it because she absolutely hates being on her tummy. We've tried doing tummy time but she screams blue murder!

PixieChops · 04/07/2015 12:47

Think we'll make the party, she only threw up once and has been her usual lovely (irritating) self!
Mini- me and OH argued quite a bit after DD was born. It was because I wasn't getting out and doing anything and I was pissed off that he could bugger off to work every day and I'd be stuck in! You need to find some mums and get involved with baby groups. I won't lie, meeting up with other people and being able to vent and whinge was amazing. Our relationship has been fine since and that's why I've made such a huge effort to go out after this birth. I had a c section 2 weeks ago and have literally been dragging myself out and the babies since a week ago. I'd go mental if I stayed in all the time.
I don't know about your birth experience and it took me 6 months to go out properly last time so well done for getting out after 9 weeks! Just keep it up and guaranteed you'll stay to feel better x

WilHarlot · 04/07/2015 17:11

Oh Pixie that's crap on your night off Thanks .

I agree Mini that fights and resentment are really common after having the first baby. It's such a massive change and in a lot of cases the mum ends up doing 95% of the child-related work so it's easy to feel resentful or just be quicker to anger because you're tired. If you can keep talking when you're both calm, that helps. Things will settle down Thanks .

I have the grumpiest/clingiest baby today.

Question for baby led weaners: how do you give meat?

PixieChops · 04/07/2015 17:24

Very very small slithers will, DD still only has 7 teeth so we will cut it up for her into tiny pieces.
And thanks for the Thanks, can't wait to put my feet up at 7 and have a Brew!

DD attended the party, quite stressful for me with her plus 2 week old DS. She was so clingy, think it was because there was loads of people and the fact that she'd been up for a good few hours early this morning. Fx she sleeps tonight!

ZylaB · 04/07/2015 17:26

Hey, I feel ok today, surprisingly! Grin though I'm now having a slight concern cos in my drunk state I decided to jump MrZ (bringing the grand total number of shags since baby to a massive 4 Hmm )and we didn't use anything, watch me have gotten pregnant before my first post baby period!!

Have had a productive day, ordered very foldable stroller for taking away/using when there's no space in the car, it's a baby jogger city mini zip and folds up teeeeny tiny, excited about it arriving next week. We also ordered travel cot, decided to go with a Babyway one, cos it's what my brother and SIL use and H slept well in it when we stopped over :)

JuniDD · 04/07/2015 17:42

wil I give her meat in chunks or strips. The BLW book recommends meatballs too so they can hold it in their little fists and take nibbles (or drop it on the floor as BabyJ does). She actually ate today though, had some crumpet. A lot of coughing to get it down but down it went. She also did a massive poo as we were leaving a shopping centre so I thought "eh, I'll change her as soon as we get home". Of course she's sound asleep and I'm worrying about her poor botty getting burned.

Gosh, all you shaggers are making me feel quite the puritan!

Sorry about rough nights, babyj was knackered and did a great night but she is still asleep now so who knows...better get her up actually and get that nappy sorted.

cookielove · 04/07/2015 18:55

juni I hope the bottom is not too sore!

At nursery we are not allowed to give meatballs as it is a choking hazard! I give E little chunks of meat, he is so hit and miss but chicken and ham are the most often eaten!

E has learnt to climb today Shock and yesterday said boo which apart from da da is his first actual word! Grin

ZylaB · 04/07/2015 19:02

cookie that's great :)

PixieChops · 04/07/2015 19:30

Aww bless! DD is well ahead physically (walking- pretty much running!) but she's not really saying that many words yet, she'll say mama and dada and also Tilly which is the name of her favourite toy. I don't really know how many words (nearly) 14 month olds are supposed to know

WilHarlot · 04/07/2015 19:57

That's fine at her age Pixie.

I fail to see how meatballs are more of a choking hazard than a lump of chicken breast.

I'm going old school with weaning. I can't get my head round the baby led stuff.

cookielove · 04/07/2015 20:23

Probably because they are circular and can block the throat! We have to be really careful about what foods we give the kids, what it is and in what form :)

Did any of you hear about the little girl in a preschool room who choked on a cube of jelly at nursery, she died eating jelly! How sad is that?

minimooo · 04/07/2015 21:49

Ah that is sad cookie Sad

My cousin raves about BLW. I need to look into it a bit more because I can't make my mind up about it. I'm so scared of choking because my little brother choked when he was a kid and it scared the bejeesus out of me.

Thanks for the reassurance re arguing with dh viroids. I was beginning to feel really down about it. It's good to know that it's not just us.

ZylaB · 04/07/2015 21:52

juni what book is the BLW one you're using?

mini what wil and pixie say is true, I think it's pretty normal, such a huge change to your lives. Don't worry :)

WilHarlot · 04/07/2015 21:55

I just don't get how they manage to eat anything?

Ah cookie, I think the meatballs in my head must be bigger than the ones in your nursery manager's head. Grin That does make more sense.

RPopz · 04/07/2015 22:54

I got the Gill Rapley BLW book Zyla. A friend leant me the BLW cookbook which is probably better, as the first chapter basically summarises the entire BLW book and then the rest is recipes.

Wil you can give them strips of meat. Apparently they just mostly suck the juice out and gum it at first. The whole BLW ethos is that it's not really about "eating" at first - it's just playing and exploring textures and flavours, and joining in the meal time experience. (As wanky as that sounds!). Babies don't really need much from food at first so it doesn't matter if they eat much. The point is they eat exactly as much as they want/ need - which apparently babies are quite good at. Tbh, you'd be surprised how much they do eat - minipopz ate a whole piece of toast for his brekkie, cut into fingers. The whole sensory experience of it seems to be tiring for him too as he's having quite reliable naps not long after meal times now Smile Its time consuming though so I can see why it wouldn't necessarily work with a toddler in the equation too.

Glad you enjoyed your boozy night Zy! I'm not very conscientious about that sort of thing... Blush

Hi mini - glad you're feeling better!

RPopz · 04/07/2015 22:56

Think we had our first weaning poo earlier though... HOLY FUCKING MONGOOSE. I can still smell it now

ZylaB · 05/07/2015 07:03

juni thanks, I'll take a look!

popz lol, just lol. I'm not looking forward to that!

wil the meatballs in my head are large too!

teejayem · 05/07/2015 10:41

Nipples....dissolving...too..much...feeding....

No sleep, just snacks and naps, Mr tee did 11-3, I did 3-7. And with all the food comes ALL THE POO. Nothing like dozing off at 5am to be awoken by a sharting baby on your chest.
Please tell me there is a break in cluster feeding soon.....

ZylaB · 05/07/2015 11:06

Aww tee poor you, keep slathering on the lansinoh! Brew
It will get better, remember TT's tummy is tiny at the moment, as it gets bigger so will the breaks between feeds!
