I can't be arsed with scratch mitts anymore but I noticed yesterday he he'd scratched his face again... Tis odd how they don't seem to mind it.

ZylaB · 11/03/2015 22:27

H scratches herself lots, I e trimmed her nails as much as I can, but she still manages it. She hates the mitts. Mind you, she hates lots of things, mostly being put down! (Still screaming every time we try to leave her to sleep)

willywallace · 11/03/2015 22:30

Both mine have been terrible for scratching themselves, am sure it will heal up.

Ten weeks you say? We must be getting them all in one block then. In which case I can't wait for the next 2 1/2 weeks to be up. She is a demon tonight. Maybe the hospital today was a bit too stimulating for her.

Ah Popz, I'm a bit like that with MrWil's friends. Always scared there'll be a bit of "I saw your gf's tits" mentality - although I'm sure they're not in the least bit bothered in reality.

willywallace · 12/03/2015 02:39

Yuck I'm up already. What's she playing at?

cookielove · 12/03/2015 05:45

I have been up for almost 2hrs

willywallace · 12/03/2015 06:45

Oh no Cookie, what a wee devil.

Is he really hungry or just wide awake?

I think I prefer it when she goes to bed after midnight - means I'm up less in the night.

willywallace · 12/03/2015 06:50

Ah Lauren he's so cute. He looks sturdy. How's he getting on?

laurenamium · 12/03/2015 08:01

I think I'm being discharged today to go home, minilauren has to stay Sad I keep crying hysterically about it, then crying more because I should be happy to be at home so I can see DD more and be a bit normal for her...

I also don't know how I'm going to work going backwards and forwards to the hospital and juggling DDs school pick ups as well as being here for minilauren...my head is battered when I think about it!

FurryScoob · 12/03/2015 08:12

Morning viroids

I've been for a photo hunt & he's gorgeous lauren
Are we due for loads of newbies soon? The grads thread seems to have got very full since I was last on, the jsers must have been busy!

Off to collect some new parts later & attempt to fix my washer ring my DB to come & fit them

willywallace · 12/03/2015 08:14

Good luck Furry.

Can't DP sort school pick ups Lauren?

FurryScoob · 12/03/2015 08:16

Flowers lauren how old is DD? Is she old enough to understand why you need to keep going to the hospital & that it won't be for long?

ZylaB · 12/03/2015 09:51

lauren hugs. That sounds so hard! Don't they have rooms you can stay in? Are you expressing for him? Only ask cos they had some women in side rooms who had babies in neonatal and they were expressing and taking milk up..

laurenamium · 12/03/2015 10:26

Good luck with the washing machine furry! DD is 4 so she understands but she would definitely benefit from some routine and her own things- she's staying with grandma at the minute and is taking it well, but not the same as her own house and routine!

zyla I'm expressing Smile I've been in a side room but the ward is busy and they need the room for new people who have been separated from their babies and are recovering from sections etc so that they don't have to go in the main rooms with the mums and babies.

they have 4 flats too for families that live far away but they're all full. I'm just hormonal, I've sorted out a plan in my head and there's a fund available for costs of taxis and hospital food etc which I'm going to apply for today to help with taxis until I can drive again. If I can get that then me or DP can do backwards and forwards trips, DD can have routine and not spend her life at the hospital and minilauren can have someone with him 8:30am- 11:30pm...I think that's going to be the best plan. I just need to stop crying long enough to vocalise it now HmmGrin

Does anyone else bottle feed expressed milk? Is it a nightmare long term or is it manageable?

ZylaB · 12/03/2015 10:54

Bless you lauren sounds like a sensible plan! We cup fed H and gave her top ups for a while as she was so reluctant to feed. I think a worry bottle feeding immediately may cause more chance for problems with getting him onto breastfeeding after. That said it may not be a problem at all! Different babies, different things :). Just be reassured they have tiny tiny stomachs at first so you won't get a lot of milk, but it'll be plenty for him! (I thought I wasn't getting enough until someone pointed out how tiny they are)

Hope it goes well x

JuniDD · 12/03/2015 11:03

massive hugs Lauren, your plan sounds great. take it day by day, and he'll be home soon. xxx

Minion · 12/03/2015 11:17

I expressed for the first month as she wouldn't latch on no matter what, but we also ff too. Got 1-2 bottles of bm some days. But I'm not going to lie, it took a massive chunk of time, so I stopped.
I'm now wworrying it's that that has kicked off her feeding probs as tge reflux coincided with me stopping expressing.

RPopz · 12/03/2015 14:24

Sounds like a sensible plan Lauren. Hugs Thanks The hormoney crying is shit and probably worse for you with everything you've been through. Make sure DP steps up with the support - starting by replacing your choccy! Any idea how long the little man will be in for? I'd just try and express as often as you can manage and don't worry if he needs formula top ups for now. Every little drop helps Smile Could try cup/ syringe feeding if you don't want to give him a bottle?

Random question: do babies still wear growies to bed in the summer?

willywallace · 12/03/2015 15:56

They do in Scotland Popz Grin . If it's really hot I'd just put a bodysuit on but usually it's pretty cool by night time here.

I know people who have started off expressing Lauren but found it hard to keep up. I find it tough finding time to express at all with MiniWil to look after. But I'm sure people do it - maybe ask on the infant feeding page if you need advice. I agree with the others - do what you can and try not to stress. And listen to zyla because she is the Queen of perseverance!

Min I gave MiniWil formula occasionally starting at about three weeks and this coincided with her getting reflux. Now it transpires she has a dairy intolerance and I was mad with myself. But it turns out this one is exactly the same and she's never had any formula. I think it just doesn't show itself fully until they're a few weeks old. So don't feel bad.

RPopz · 12/03/2015 16:42

I've got a mamas and papas voucher to use by the 22nd but all their clothes are so shit at the moment. Thought I could get some growies in bigger sizes cos he's got a tonne of stuff for up to 6 months.

ZylaB · 12/03/2015 18:36

Do you need anything else popz? I got some Moses basket/pram sheets, cotbed sheets and a cellular blanket from there on a 3 for 2 offer :)

RPopz · 12/03/2015 19:53

Don't really need much tbh Zy. Plus its a £15 one and you can't seem to get anything for that!

Minion · 12/03/2015 20:21

She's put on 6oz in 4 days!
Yessssssssssss. Here's to chubby babies!

Do you need extra things to hang off playgym?
Mirror for the back seat of car?
Cup holder for pram?
Sun blind for car?
Umbrella for pram?
Happy nappy for swimming?

Just going through things we need seeing as though we're about the same stage or so.

willywallace · 12/03/2015 21:13

Hurrah Min! Well done.

They're cute Popz. If you're unsure get 9-12 months?

I am feeding instead of napping. Unamused.

ZylaB · 12/03/2015 21:25

Yay min that's fab weight gain.

I think the HV fell out with me in tues when I had H weighed, as I told her she was marking it in the wrong place in her red book. She looked at me funny when I showed her where the dot should be....don't mess with the maths teacher!! Lol
