Oh bloody hell Min Confused At least you're in the right place to get some answers. Really hope she's ok.

Horrible day here, my father in law died Sad Really sudden, DH is devastated. It's awful, he was such a lovely man.

Minion · 08/03/2015 21:54

Oh Ness, I'm so very sorry for your and your dhs loss.
Sending lots of love to you both and your families

willywallace · 08/03/2015 23:33

I'm so sorry Ness. Big love to you all, especially your DH.

Hopefully it's just the reflux or a food allergy making her not want to feed Min as I guess that might be fixable with different meds/formula.
It's horrible for you to have to go through that - must be stressful at feeding time Thanks .

Minion · 09/03/2015 01:09

Weirdly she's absolutely fine at feeding. No crying, nothing. It's just that after about 100mls she gives up.
I'm up. Have to feed her 3 hourly... Yawn city!

willywallace · 09/03/2015 04:37

Haha not going to lie, I'd take 3 hours inbetween wakenings. I see every bloody hour on the clock. How's it going? Is she managing any more?

Minion · 09/03/2015 07:22

Nope, still being a monkey. I think they may put her on a high calorie milk later.

JuniDD · 09/03/2015 09:25

hi all.

so sorry about your FIL ness what an awful shock. xx

Hope the drs can sort out little R min and your night wasn't too bad.

DD thankfully did an awesome sleep after the shenanigans at the hotel but was then awake for two hours in the middle of the night.

zyla hope you're ok with MrZ and feeding going ok.

wil how old is dd2 now?

Not sure how long I'm going to last with my NCT buddies...just feeling very different. Wish you guys were IRL friends!! xx

Sorry for your loss Ness Sad Hugs to you and DH Thanks

Have they got any ideas what it might be Min?

RPopz · 09/03/2015 10:29

That's a shame juni. A couple of people have said to me it was the best money they ever spent and met a good bunch. Luck of the draw I guess.

How you getting on Zy?

willywallace · 09/03/2015 10:32

Aw that would be ace Juni. I always feel a bit of an outsider in mum groups too. Others seem to make really good friends whereas I treat it more as a getting out the house exercise or somewhere to take the toddler. I stuck with the group I met first time round and actually do get on better with them now. After a while you might find one or two of them you gel with better. Microwil is 7weeks.

Minion · 09/03/2015 13:38

Hi all.
Paed has been, all looks good. He doesn't think she has reflux at all, just a bit refluxy cause of her age etc.
He suspects something called catch down growth, whereas she is probably now just taking on what she is supposed to, and going back to her original centile.
We're just waiting for the dietician and then we're outta here!!

I've made friends (what am I, 8?) with 4 ladies from post natal but I'm not too sure if they're on my sweary and filthy talk wavelength just yet. We're still in the polite zone.
I do too wish any of you were closer tho!

Nessalina · 09/03/2015 13:53

I've been really lucky with my NCT group actually, they're lovely. It'd be great to have you guys too though!

Surreal here, just sorting out funeral stuff Sad

cookielove · 09/03/2015 14:48

Hello all :)

Why won't my baby sleep through

ness so sorry for your loss! Sad hugs for you and your family!

min yay for breaking free!

will every hour you poor soul! Sad

min oddly I was on a night feeder thread which moved to Facebook and one of the mums lives in the same town as me and now we are friends :)

I forget where everyone is, is there a list?

I didn't manage to get to a nct or NHS class as he came so early but I do love going to classes and I have a great group of mummy friends now :)

FurryScoob · 09/03/2015 15:49

So sorry for your loss ness Flowers

Sounds like your getting some answers min

Has E still got a cold cookie or has he just decided getting up in the nights good fun?

juni I feel the same with my NCT group, their lovely people but I just don't fit in. They all live in new build houses that look like show homes & have flashy careers whereas we live in a house that's at least a 10 year renovation project & I would happily give up work for the next few years to stay with DD. They also think talking about farts is embarrasing so their not likely to be discussing battered fanjo's & cervical mucus anytime soon!

Minion · 09/03/2015 15:50

I'm in Cheshire!
I'm out! With a trial of neoCate.
Apparently it'd be about £40 a tin to buy.. God love the nhs.

JuniDD · 09/03/2015 17:52

Glad you're out min, god bless the NHS indeed!

I'm in Bristol and actually just went round one of their houses for a cup of tea which was really nice! I think it's partly not being great in groups and also partly not fitting in. They're all into food and houses etc and I'm not. Then I think, Argh, I'm not into anything and feel shit about myself. But I'm just into Other Things. I'm also really paranoid that no one likes me atm which doesn't help.

sorry for that splurge of emotion!

Microwil will sleep more soon! 8-10 weeks was magic for us... I hope it's the same for you wil

Baby is now asleep in her pram suit on the floor...not quite sure what to do next!!

OP posts:
Minion · 09/03/2015 17:54

Ffs! We've just given her her first bottle of neocate and she wolfed down 120mls.
Sadly shortly after she started really arching her back and bringing her knees up to chest. She's never done that before, even with reflux.
So it's obviously causing bad wind or something.
Been reading online that it can take 3-14 days for it to take affect... Fuck sake.

RPopz · 09/03/2015 18:29

I totally get that Juni. I always feel the same in groups. Glad you had a nice afternoon Smile

£40 a tin!! Robbing bastards. Could it just be tummy ache cos she's not used to being so full after a few days of not eating well? Hoping for 3 days rather than 14 for you!!

willywallace · 09/03/2015 20:12

Why doesn't he think it's reflux Min? It sounds like reflux obviously I know more than the very qualified paed Wink What is neocate for then?

Juni you and I sound so similar Grin . I always assume people don't like me.

Big hugs Ness.

How many times are you up in the night Cookie?

The baby is starting to be a bit smelly. I really wish I could give her a bath!

RPopz · 09/03/2015 21:16

Why can't you give me her a bath wil? Confused

My mum is always incensed that we only bath babypopz once a week or so. Apparently she bathed us everyday! Shock Haha.

Minion · 09/03/2015 22:23

Not sure why hes against the reflux idea, but I've just given her her second bottle of it and she demolished another 120mls! And as long as we vigorously burp her after she seems ok.
I hope this works!

Neocate is a fully synthetic formula, so hasn't been anywhere near a cow or is milk. Apparently reflux is a major side effect of the intolerance and not many people realise it.

willywallace · 10/03/2015 05:43

Oh he thinks she's dairy intolerant? Sorry, I thought you'd decided against that. MiniWil is - it's a bit of a pain in the arse so I hope R grows out of it soon.

I think daily baths are bad for the skin Popz, so I'm with you. I can't bathe MicroWil because she has to wear the thing 24/7. She is flipping wide awake! Slept really well for the first part of the night and has clearly decided that's enough. Keeps rooting but doesn't want fed and keeps spitting out her dummy Angry .

laurenamium · 10/03/2015 06:11

Good morning Smile can I come join the grads? Grin I might not post much but it would be nice to have somewhere to come in the early hours!

I've had a read through and neonate is expensive Shock can you get it prescribed?

Baby I was born by emergency C section on Sunday morning and is currently in neonatal unit in the intensive care bit, BUT he's doing amazingly well and there's talk of moving him to the high dependency section soon Smile

JuniDD · 10/03/2015 07:05

Congratulations Lauren and welcome. Glad baby boy is doing well xxx

Why did dd wake up at half six full of beans and now tired already? Just stay asleep!!

OP posts:
Minion · 10/03/2015 08:42

Hi Lauren congrats on baby boy and hope you both are doing well. You say you don't post much but you'll be joining uus between 1-4 am in no time!

Yep can get neocate prescribed, hopefully it will sort her. Both feeds this morning were only 80mls tho. Hmmmm.
