min it really is madness! I've spent the morning staring in horror at some of the piles of chocolate and assorted stuff that people have bought their kids, as kids we used to get a few eggs from family and that was it.

Urgh! Announced babies birth on facebook today (we announced our first on Xmas day, about a month or so after she was actually born, so it seemed fitting to use Easter Sunday for the newbie) we'd already briefed a lot of people on my general 'people stealing my babies identity through facebook' paranoia, along with the fact that we don't put the kids actual birth dates on facebook... So someone (who we had briefed) today on the anoucement post asked specifically what date the baby came on... Sometimes I do wonder if I talk to myself...

Minion · 05/04/2015 17:17

Oh god wil, deep breath and go in.
What comes out of my daughter just clears rooms. Fucking neocate. It's vile. Dark green and smells like a farmyard.
Every Sodding time!
You have my sympathies.

I believe my in laws have bought her something as she can't have eggs etc. No idea why. They're in their way back from holiday tonight so am hoping theres a delicious bottle of rum for us too!

willywallace · 05/04/2015 17:33

If they come bearing rum, let them away with anything.

Maybe they forgot Boo. Just ignore the question, they'll probably forget they asked.

How come my baby is the only one who isn't showing improvement in her sleeping patterns? Not fair. I'm obviously doing something spectacularly wrong.

TheBooMonster · 05/04/2015 18:14

wil micro doesn't sleep properly, and it feels like she never will but she is only 2 weeks! Though typically she's asleep now and has been for long enough that I so could have had a nap...

I don't even get people's obsession with knowing the date, I gave the time and weight because people are obsessed with that info and it seemed fairly harmless grumbles grumpily but the only people who need to know the date are family and they already know...

ZylaB · 05/04/2015 19:08

wil you're doing nothing wrong at all! Different things for different babies etc. Flowers Brew

I didn't get an egg :( DH said he was going to buy H one, which I told him meant getting me one to eat as I'm feeding her (see! Good plan!!), then H had a meltdown in tescos so I took her to the car to feed and he forgot an egg :(. Hope they've got some Galaxy ones reduced tomorrow!

RPopz · 05/04/2015 22:32

Easter presents are totally not a thing. Although my Mum did give me a tenner to get myself an Easter egg and I'm 29... Hmm haha. The PILs came round earlier with some clothes for DS and an egg. Apparently they checked it'll still be in date when he's 6 months old so I take it that means I can't eat it for him!! Angry

Does it feel like you're shitting glass pis? And hurt for hours afterwards? Could be a fissure... I had one and it was fucking agonising. Got some ointment from the GP though and some stool softener. Vaseline, hot baths and painkillers also good!!

willywallace · 05/04/2015 23:53

There will be tons of reduced eggs tomorrow zyla - gorge yourself!

Thanks but pretty sure I am doing a lot wrong. I had it all figured out last time in some routine which worked amazingly. Unfortunately I can't remember what I did. I think expressing and giving a bottle before bed really helped but think I've missed my window for getting that to work. Sigh I'm going to have one of those toddlers who's up four times a night aren't I?

Popz totally eat DS' egg. You're unlikely to give your baby chocolate for quite a while - certainly not a whole egg. MrWil's friends kept buying it for MiniWil when she was a baby and I couldn't work out why they thought it was a good idea.

ZylaB · 06/04/2015 06:43

You're not going to have that wil she just needs to get her head around the idea.

I didn't want to say anything yesterday, as I didn't want to tempt fate (and it'll probably fuck it up now!), but H went to sleep in her bedside cot at 10pm last night and sat night, did a 4 hour(!) stretch on sat, a 4 hour 20 stretch last night, had nappy change and big feed, then back to bed for 3 hours! I'm so impressed with her, it's basically 10pm -6am with 45 mins or so for feed in the middle Grin

Bet she never does it again now lol

willywallace · 06/04/2015 07:08

Does she always have a dirty nappy or do you change her anyway?

I've decided if I don't let her sleep before the eleven o'clock feed, then my night is fine. But if she sleeps downstairs first then I'm screwed. I'm effectively keeping her up until midnight when she's tired though. Is that bad?

ZylaB · 06/04/2015 07:12

She does always need a change wil yes, it's at least wet which she hates. And if keeping her up helps her sleep at night, I'd do it!

ZylaB · 06/04/2015 07:19

I keep meaning to ask on here, I think one of my boobs produces more milk than the other, it feels larger to me, I get more from it if I express and it leaks more. Does this mean H isn't getting enough from the other? Should I express from the smaller one more to try and stimulate it, or will H do that enough? (Am I normal?) Grin

JuniDD · 06/04/2015 07:48

Totally normal zyla. I understand most women have this. You don't need to do anything and I think babies like the difference. Also common for babies to have a preferred side. My dd prefers the smaller side which is ace when I'm engorged. Sad

Very tired this morning...

Hi Spring.

Yeah I think micro has a preference too. Certainly one side is easier when we're out in public. Do you think you feed from one side more?

I fancy getting out for a walk today. Getting cabin fever. I'm also due a namechange when I can be arsed. Don't worry, it won't be anything less than obvious.

JuniDD · 06/04/2015 12:50

Scored a lie in today! Fell asleep with dd after morning feed, Mr J came in and took her for an hour. I did wake up when he did this but he thinks otherwise. I may send them out later and watch some TV...or sit outside in the sun. Weird day though, still in my PJs which I haven't done since the early days!

BTW wil on the sleep thing, dd seems to be getting very random with it so it's all up and down for me.

I am failing spectacularly at getting E to sleep through he has now got a great routine through the day, yay and bedtime is going well but oh dear god the nights are terrible, last night he was up for three and a half hours :( the only bonus is he had a lie in!

I have a painful fissure I need to get sorted too :(

willywallace · 06/04/2015 13:48

Oh no to the fissure Cookie. I thought it sounded the same as Popz's one.

I guess some babies just aren't great sleepers. I reckon if I start putting her in the bouncer chair after first wake up, she'd stay asleep longer.

Sounds like heaven Juni!

RPopz · 06/04/2015 14:26

Just eaten my son's first Easter egg. I am a terrible mother. Grin

RPopz · 06/04/2015 14:45

By way of payback he's just sharted spectacularly across me/ the living room during newly implemented (and soon to be rescinded) No Nappy Time. I'm pretty sure some went in my mouth. Shock

FurryScoob · 06/04/2015 15:16

Hello spring

Grin well done minipopz!

wil maybe you have one of those magic babies that suddenly sleep through & never wake in the night again.

Enjoy your PJ day juni peace in the sun sounds lovely.

DD has spent the last 3 nights in her big cot in her own room but I've spent them wide awake & checking on her all the time! I'm a pilock who needs to get a grip

ZylaB · 06/04/2015 16:56

wil I'm pretty sure I feed fairly evenly from both sides, but H does seem to latch onto the slightly smaller side a bit easier. juni good to hear it's normal!

Had a lovely walk in the sun, love our pram now she can go in it without screaming., Grin

cookie sounds ouchy :(

rpopz eww, poor you!

willywallace · 06/04/2015 18:21

I love this time of year! Sunny walks with baby are the best.

Furry get a video monitor. Screw the cost, it'll save your sanity.

JuniDD · 06/04/2015 18:24

Well, I didn't end up with any time to myself but on the bright side MrJ has actually managed to stay awake all day and done things in the garden so that's good.

I think it is teeth cookie as she's doing some super green poop and her arse is all sore. Got her bottomless on a puppy pad for some nappy free time...she can really wee when she goes!

Sorry about all these poorly adult bum-bums, get to the drs all of you.

We are currently without any classes on the timetable...I am quite happy about that, but planning to do sing & sign at some point...It's weird now she's coming up to 6 months, weaning on the horizon and summer coming. Feels like something is ending. But of course, so many things are beginning! it's just all so bittersweet I guess.

Minion · 06/04/2015 18:48

We've have a roller! Knackered herself out doing it, she fell asleep as soon as she Burped, but we have a roller!!

cookielove · 06/04/2015 18:48

We did sing and sign juni

Tonight E is going in a travel cot, I hope it helps with the sleeping lol
