Even though dc3 is end of August, thought I'd start a sept thread :-)

How are you all doing?

dS1 is 9 dats old. Feeding well and surely sleeping well but it's hard to know as I keep falling asleep at night feeding him!

september I suspect it is your antibiotics but it won't be doing your lo any harm other than a sore bum, poor thing.
My DS is still having poo problems. The lactulose has done nothing. He's still really unsettled before pooing and then produces a big lump followed by very lose poo. (sorry tmi). We have our 6 week check today so I'm hoping the dr will start looking at other issues. I'm lactose intolerant and so is DD so I suspect it's something like that.
DS is now over 14lbs and is in 3-6 mth clothes at 6 weeks. Is anyone else's 'little' ones this big??!!

Honeybear30 · 28/10/2014 13:24

September antibiotics gave both myself and DS upset tummy. Was a pain! And a mess lol.

September yoy need something lije actimel to restore your insides and help your lo. Ring local pharmacy they can help

CoolCat2014 · 28/10/2014 15:36

nazly - I've been worried about DD being on the breast less, so took her to get weighed on Friday and she's stay bang on centile. She's having lots of wet & dirty nappies, and when I pumped this morning I got 120ml in just a couple of moments, before I'd only get 40-60ml and took me a while! so I'm guessing she's drinking a lot faster? Could it be the same for you?

I'm having major leakage problems... When my letdown happens it's like a firehose, DD pulls off and milks sprays everywhere Blush not sure how to deal with it!

topmammy · 28/10/2014 16:04

Honey, the only thing I've done differently recently in regard to my diet is eat asparagus (DHs new obsession lol). Apparently asparagus can make your wee smell different? I haven't made a point of smelling my own wee to see if it's the same as Jessica's though... maybe I should lol. But yes its a strange vinegary smell. Odd! She's fine otherwise as you said about your lo too.

Coolcat- try expressing/pumping a little bit off before feeding to release the initial pressure? I've had similar spray problems that makes Jessica choke and this is the only solution I've found. But it's happening less often now my supply has regulated more.

ilovemonstersinc · 28/10/2014 19:29

Sorry about short post September. I meant to also add that antibiotics kill the good bacteria in your gut which gives you the runs. Sometimea it can actually be a problem which is why I recommend speaking to pharmacist and also some actimel or other Probiotic to help restore the good bacteria. Hth ps I know that as ds has been on loads of antibiotics once it was 8lots in 6weeks after he had his feeding tube put in his stomach and pharmacist recommended the Probiotics and that if he got bad diarrhoea then had to go back to him. 1 of ds problems is constipation so would have liked a bit of diarrhoea lol.

ilovemonstersinc · 28/10/2014 19:30

Top how is jessica doing?

Anyone heard from whiteblossom or donteven? Or even waffles?

ilovemonstersinc · 28/10/2014 19:32

Also forgot to add baby has a cough and cold. Hes a lil unsettled and its most likely going to be thr virus that we've all had thats causing it. Obv keeping very close eye on him as bronchiolitis season is here Angry

KatharineClover · 28/10/2014 19:32

bananapickle Danny started moving into 3-6 month clothes from 4 weeks, he has massive feet, long legs and body. He was 9lb 15oz when he was born though, I think he's going to be tall - DH and I are both the smallest of our sets of siblings at 5'10" so he has tall genes :)

topmammy · 28/10/2014 20:56

Jessica is doing well thanks ilove. Only thing that's a bit worrying is her fold under her neck got really really sore :( It just flared up over night. I've put some Metanium on it which seems to have helped. The stuff doesn't wash off though so I'm just leaving it to do its thing rather than rub the area at all. Hows your lo doing?

No idea about whiteblossom etc Hope they're ok!

ilovemonstersinc · 28/10/2014 21:37

After a bath pat dry and powder her up a lil to keep folds and creases dry. Ime ive found thats happened due to sweat/ being a bit wet after bath and not dried enough etc. Mum told me that and she has 6kids Shock

Any pregnancy news from anyone yet Grin

KitKat1985 · 29/10/2014 03:16

Haha, no Ilove! Though I do already get asked frequently if we're planning on having another! Truth is yes I have always wanted 2 kids, although the thought of doing the whole 'pregnancy, labour, sleep deprivation' year again isn't very appealing if I'm honest; though I'm sure eventually we will. Also I have a years maternity leave and suspect my work would not be impressed if I went back pregnant / got pregnant again too quickly. Having said that I wouldn't want a mammoth age gap. Probably will try for 2nd after 6 months or so after going back to work and see how it goes. Strange to be thinking of this stuff already! x

ilovemonstersinc · 29/10/2014 05:45

Lol. Well... no im joking.
Well I bloody hope I am. Theres the teeniest tiniest chance I could be. Didnt actually know I could get pregnant like that thanks mn Hmm but im due on and tmi but im constipated which for me is a sign of af and im cramping too. Typical that I have a few big days ahead and it will be 1st days of periods Angry ds1 is being admitted to hospital for camera tests up and down him.

Allisgood1 · 29/10/2014 09:29

Ilove...you are insane Smile do you hope you are? We haven't even managed to DTD yet!!

I am really struggling with anxiety. My usual level is around a 3. Now I'm at about a 7 in the day and 8 at night. Some nights it's a 10. I have no idea why other than its tummy bug season and I get very anxious about it. I've started the fluoxetine now but DS has started spitting up more. Does anyone else's dc spit up more some days? He's gone from occasional to every feed but it's about a tablespoon worth. It's not affecting his sleep or his mood and he's still happy. I'm pretty sure it's the meds but DH said he's happy to deal with a bit of reflux over me being hospitalized for mental reasons Confused

ilovemonstersinc · 29/10/2014 12:03

Lol allis I meant I bloody hope I am joking. Definitely do not want to be pregnant any time soon!

Baby was coughing a lot more this morning so took him to gp. Hes got chest infection. He only started coughing last night.

Allis Flowers anxiety is shit. I suffer really bad too at times. Im sure your my long lost.twin!. Won't go into detail about what I get anxious about as I dont want it to fuck with someone elses head but I will say the day I started telling myself its just a horrible fear face it and it will go away it helped sooo much. Im still a nervous wreck at times like you my nights are the worst. I truly hate it but when I start to feelshit I tell mmyself my boys deserve a mum who isnt worrying all the time. Easier said than done I know but oncw you break the habbit it becomes easier. What also made things click for me was the speakmans therapy show thingy. There was a woman who would bite and lick everything in a pattern her thinking was if she didn't her family would become ill. They helped her see that it was bollocks. The reference they gave her was the mayans would sacrifice someone each night as they believed that made the sun come up each day. Obv its bollocks and worrying about ssomething unnecessarily as something might happen is bollocks too.

It still doesn't stop me from worrying but I worry less so im less anxious iyswim?

Allis I really hope that ^^^ helped. Will try and link the video if I can find it on YouTube. Hope it helps others who arw worrying too

CumbrianExile · 29/10/2014 13:29

No plans for getting pregnant again anytime soon ILove haha. Just about getting my head around one baby!

Can I ask how often your babies are pooing? A was averaging about once a day, but the last two days its been a lot more frequent. It looks normal, not runny or anything, so don't want to be going to the doctors over nothing, but google is getting me in a tizz!

topmammy · 29/10/2014 17:47

No DTD here yet either! I'm beginning to feel sorry for DH now lol but I don't feel like it or I'm just too tired.

Cumbrian, Jessica poops around 2 or 3 times a day. But it's normal for them to go without pooping for up to 10 days apparently according to my HV. I wouldn't worry too much unless there are other symptoms too.

velvetlilithi · 29/10/2014 18:04

Can I ask what type of thermometer do you use for your babies?? I hsve classic, then ear/head, and even rectal. Didnt try the rectal one so far, but temperature in ear or heasd is very different. Ear and under arm was close but still not the same. Dpnt know which one to use to get most accurate reading.

ilovemonstersinc · 29/10/2014 18:13

Velvet I use the one they use in most hospitals the braun in ear thermometer. They are very good imo and mine is4yrs old. Auction of ebay brand new.

I said to dh im due on soon so your mine before that Blush

Acorncat · 29/10/2014 18:13

I use a digital thermometer and attempt mouth and underarm but not sure how accurate it is as I used it on myself and it was pretty low.

Feeding has been excruciating on one side the last few days - gp said it was just irritated Hmm so went to breastfeeding clinic and they said its thrush. Oh joy! So an embarrassing phone conversation in the middle of a busy shop with gp about my nipples and I now have medication. Hope it works soon, can't carry on feeding with this pain for much longer.

cookielove · 29/10/2014 18:27

I have the braun one too, i think it is the most accurate although when ds had a temp after his injections we used the braun and an underarm one which flashed red when it recorded his temp being to hot which was good.

Ds really struggles to poo gonna try and get a Dr appointment about it. Have been giving him diluted prune juice.

And no sex here, dh is going insane![flush]

cookielove · 29/10/2014 18:28

Not flush Blush

KitKat1985 · 29/10/2014 18:44

Jessica seems to poop near enough constantly! At least 8 times a day! She does like her food though so probably not surprising!

How is everyone finding nights at the mo? Last night wasn't one of Jessica's better nights so have been flagging a bit today. We generally get her down between 9-10pm but she is still waking about 3 times a night (sometimes more) for feeds, and settling her in her basket after each feed can still take sometimes 2 hours (she only really settles to sleep quickly when she sleeps on people's chests). Hoping she improves soon because I'm going insane. She'll be 7 weeks old on Friday. xxx

Acorncat · 29/10/2014 19:51

Nights are a bit rubbish still here too. He sleeps on DH downstair till about midnight so I can get some sleep, then he's been sleeping for up to 2 hours in his basket then possible another 1 or 2 hour stretch later in the night. The rest is filled with feeding, keeping him upright and trying to get him back to sleep. It's hard when he's fascinated by the night light and smiling at me and I'm just wishing he'd fall asleep! I really struggle to stay awake when I'm holding him so we do end up napping like that which scares me. Last night was the first night he's slept soundly without refluxing but I think I've buggered it up again by giving him his medicine late today and I had some dairy after I've been not eating it Sad
