Even though dc3 is end of August, thought I'd start a sept thread :-)

How are you all doing?

dS1 is 9 dats old. Feeding well and surely sleeping well but it's hard to know as I keep falling asleep at night feeding him!

Sorry that wa meant to be a question! Where does it say 18 points per pound? That's a bargain!

Honey - it doesn't say about it, but there is a bonus points thing this weekend with everything giving 12 points per pound, but when I went to online checkout it must have added baby club extra points also as it was working out I was getting 18 points per pound! What coupons are you talking about? The baby club ones?

Honeybear30 · 02/11/2014 15:19

Oh I see! The coupons are the ones that come in the post every couple of months for your advantage card? But now they are in the boots app if you download it. Handy!

bananapickle84 · 02/11/2014 17:45

Anyone been brave enough to go away with their babies yet? We're off for the week to see the in-laws tomorrow, feels like we're packing the world! I'd forgotten just how much stuff one little person needs. At least our DD now only requires one little suitcase.

ilovemonstersinc · 02/11/2014 18:48

I took ds1 on a 8hours flight at 4months old.
went for 6weeks!
I took enough to last a week or two and then bought from the shopping malls there.

CoolCat2014 · 02/11/2014 21:59

We are going away at the end of the week to my parents, it's a 4 hour drive and I'm a bit nervous how to work it if she needs feeding or changing suddenly! Hate leaving her crying.

Been trying to get her to take a bottle so that I can go out occasionally, but she's refusing :( will try again tomorrow, just hate wasting the milk!

Allisgood1 · 02/11/2014 22:52

Re: going away. I'm avoiding long car journeys as ds just screams. Went 1.5 hr away last weekend and it was a nightmare. He screamed for 15 minutes solid before finally passing out. I have learned to block it out but wouldn't like to subject him to that again so it will be some time before we go that far again.

Re: sleep. I get max 30 min naps in the day and 7-8 hour stretches at night. DS is now 9.5 weeks.

I took my DS. To the in laws when he was 3 weeks old and he almost needed his own trailer for ll his stuff! We drove 2.5 hrs to see his godfather the other day - he just falls asleep. However it has sent his sleep routine out of kilter. We had been getting 7.30-12.30, 1.15-3.30, 4-6 sleep hours. Last night was 8-11, 12-2.30,3,4,5,6,7. So far tonight has been 7-11, 11.30-2.30 and fingers crossed for the last session. I find settling him down for the last section a bit stressful.

He has stopped having massive feeds - had been having anything from 80-200ml. Now he is more regularly around the 80-120ml mark.

Ella really hope all ok and the tonsillitis does not make an appearance x

bananapickle84 · 03/11/2014 04:36

ella I'm sure your little one will be fine. I had tonsillitis when DS was 2.5 weeks old and he didn't get it. Don't beat yourself up Smile

We're leaving just before lunch so that the 2.5 hr journey is over DS's big daytime nap. Hoping it works as it's the first time he's been in the car for more than 20 minutes.

ilovemonstersinc · 03/11/2014 07:39

Ella tonsillitis is an infection so if the girl say put her fingers in het mouth then babys or put lo dummy in her mouth then babys then baby would most likely get it. If its tonsillitis caused by virus then she might get it. Dont worry yourself too much be happy you was offered a break. The break here for me was taking ds to hosp for theatre and he woke at 3am and didnt go back to sleep

CumbrianExile · 03/11/2014 14:42

Ella - hope your little one is ok?

I drove up to my parents the other week, its about a 3 hour drive usually but there was an accident on the motorway so it took longer. DS wasnt too keen, but luckily DH sat in the back with him so could entertain him and try and get him to stop crying.
We are flying out to Ireland in a couple of weeks to visit the in-laws, and as much as I am looking forward to seeing them, I am dreading the flight. How to you take a baby on a plane!? ILove - i think you are very brave, I am worrying about a 1 hour flight!

ilovemonstersinc · 03/11/2014 16:07

I booked the baby crib seats so they were the ones at the front middle aisle under the big tv thingy showing maps etc there was space for a clip on mini crib and me and dh took turns in looking after him. I waw advised by mum to give him some calpol before flight for jetlag and he slept most ofthe way. Its aactually easier taking them whrn they cant be up running havoc

CumbrianExile · 03/11/2014 16:30

I don't think aer lingus offer those Ilove. But I'm sure we will be ok. It's all these firsts isn't it. But people have done it before and survived Grin
Hope your eldest ds is doing ok?

ilovemonstersinc · 03/11/2014 17:07

Hes still bleeding inside from his tube and in stool. His tummt is hurting him and hes just been sick but he is now smiling again. Thank you for asking

topmammy · 03/11/2014 18:38

Cumbrian, I've not taken a baby on a flight myself buy a few people from the August Babies group have and they've said people were so nice and asked if they could help lift bags etc.

Jessica had her second lot of jabs today and she is not a happy bunny now :(. The cries are different after jabs, they sound like she's in pain and actually make me cry. Hopefully she'll sleep it off. Have got calpol incase of a temperature.

cookielove · 03/11/2014 19:26

ilove sorry to hear your lo is doing better.

I've been reading but not posting (blush)

Ella I hope your lo doesn't catch anything :)

Eli has been put on lactose, which has helped. Please tell me that he will start sleeping a bit longer at night soon. He is almost 3 months. But being 6 weeks early means really he is only 6 weeks old. He still sleeps a lot through the day. And through the night wakes up every 4-5 hrs!

velvetlilithi · 03/11/2014 19:30

My ds is crying all the time. He's either feeding/sleeping or crying while awake. Only once in a couple of days he has a moment when he's awake and calm and watching toys around him and 'talking'. It's not the cry like he's in pain so even that I know he is windy, it's not the reason why he cries. It doesnt matter he's fed,has clean nappy, isnt cold or hot. He just cries, often from sleep as well. Sometimes wont help even cuddling, or dummy, even skin to skin.. I dont know what to do.. I cant cope with it any longer. It breaks my heart. It's going on for weeks now and seems like every other day is worse and worse. Feel really down lately Sad Sad

KatharineClover · 03/11/2014 20:11

So sorry to hear your struggles velvet - this website might be helpful www.cry-sis.org.uk xx.

Right. Does anyone else's LOVE do this - Barney does it occasionally - used to be in middle of night but gas just done it now. Big feed. Put down. Cries. So you wind, some burps, some farts, put him back down cos eyes close. Cries. Hands in mouth. Surely you can't be hungry. You just had 140ml. More winding. Gripe water. Sleepy so put back down. Cries, everything suggests hunger. Ok so it's 2.5 hrs since last feed, here you go. Takes 20ml and falls asleep. Anyone? Please someone say it's not just my son....,

Allisgood1 · 03/11/2014 21:11

Lol holls. Yes from 7pm that's my story too only I'm bf so don't know how much he's getting. The last feed is very little.
