Retail therapy wise it could have been a lot worse! If I'd fled right instead of left I'd have been in Joules or The White Company.

Hope the dental work isn't too bad cheek. I really need to get an appointment for me and register J before he actually has teeth.

Sunday my dad still has the paper chains my grandmother and I made.

On sleep, I don't know if it's a new phase or the snotty nose throwing him off but J is waking up about 45mins after going to bed. Sometimes he resettles himself, sometimes he howls like the world is ending.

RIP Nelson Mandela. He shall be remembered for peace and reconciliation. A kind man, full of grace and ready to forgive.

A secondary school 'friend' once laughed at me when we did one of those "who would you like to meet" conversations. I think I was expected to say Bros or something, but I said Nelson Mandela because if I could meet him it meant he was free.

thank you. They couldn't fill all of them so im back for more on Christmas Eve. how festive Wink Wink

dinky j (maybe j is a troublesome initial) is getting worse at sleeping. up every hour again. but a joy in the day. hes currently loving trying to sit upright and the jumperoo (aka the circle of neglect). I've been following little olivers progress on Facebook. isn't it amazing? born so tiny but enjoying all the same things. what a miracle

hope no one has been badly affected by the storm.

Hello.
I've been mostly on FB lately, but it's really quiet in here. Is anyone left on here not on FB? You should register with FB under a made up name like Red Parrot to protect your anonymity & join us there. Grin
N has started waking more at night and I'm feeding her every time because I haven't figured out how else to get her back to sleep at night. By day she just chatters a bit to herself and goes to sleep. Tried to just give her a cuddle last night but she started trying to feed off my neck so vigorously I thought I was going to get a love bite, so I fed her.
I weighed her (& me, to do the calculation) at my parents house the other day - she's 14lb, which is coincidentally the same amount I've gained in the last 5 months Blush. I haven't looked in her book to see what line that puts her on yet.

Maybe N is going through a growth spout SNFED! Same for your J Cheek. Got my J weighed today - he's bang on the 75th percentile still at 8.14kg. My J is also trying to sit up but not such a fan of rolling. Love the new name for the jumperoo! And his sleep last night was good - only 3 wakes - third one being because (yet again) his nappy had leaked. I dont think the nappy has been invented yet that can put up with his nocturnal sees.

Hope all ok and no one troubled by the coastal surge.

I'm still here but not on the Facebook group! Maybe I should just join that group?
I got to crisis point 2 weeks ago with T's sleeping/waking at night, I got a book call Save Our Sleep (its in the car to go back to library so can't check author) I haven't stuck to the routine but I was feeding then cuddling T to sleep every night so he wasn't able to self settle so I started putting him down awake by 7 ever night and he's sleeping much better (watch it for a bad night now!) and he's much happier during the day generally too. I don't want to go on too much as it bugs me when other mums preach about what works but I also know how exhausting it is when your woken every 2 hours! Might be worth a look if you're interested.

Runswithsquirrels · 07/12/2013 19:26

Oh you should join us beginning. It's a secret group as well, so only we can see it.

I am injured and big toe nail-less thanks to an unfortunate incident with a metal gate yesterday. J was very good in a and e while I had the remains of my toe nail removed (as yuck as it sounds!).

On a brighter note took j and his big brothers to meet Santa today and while slightly bemused by the whole experience he seemed to enjoy it.

Ouch Dinky! That sounds gruesome , poor you.

Cheek, I hope your Christmas dinner won't be spoiled by dental work on Christmas Eve. Sounds a bit of a mean dentist to me - dr Humbug?

Beginning, you should defo come over to face book. I held out for ages but its quite handy. I'm only on this secret group (and a selling group in the hope to get rid of all the pointless shit that's cluttering up my life, but that's by the by) and I've got no personal info on there. I wish I had made up a birthday and called myself Zhi Zhi though!

Who do I need to tell my real name too for Facebook?
ouch dinky that sounds very painful!
I met up with my uni friends last night at stayed with one of them (with T) we had the most horrendous night ever with T not sleeping so he is extremely grumpy today, if I'd driven home we would have got back about 1/2 ish and would have got more sleep! Bring on afternoon nap time!

Ugh Thinking hope your nights have made a marked improvement. Is M teething or down with a cold at the moment? There seem to be so many pre-xmas lurgies doing the rounds right now.

Am off to Berlin at silly o'clock on Saturday morning. Feels like just yesterday that I was pregnant and booking it! Cant believe its so nearly xmas already!!

Ooh, Berlin. Lovely.

We were in Copenhagen this time last year getting v cold and eating fabulous Scandi-food. And not drinking! This year I'll have to resort to watching Borgen and eating pickled herrings from a jar, but at least I can have a drink or two .

Lurgie here. The boy sounds like he has a 60 a day habit...

Report
Abzs · 11/12/2013 03:48

Just getting over our lurgy, after 3 weeks of snuffling. How old does he have to be before I can teach him to properly snort the snot back? I can't stand snifflers...

Out in the snow on Saturday. A combination of pram and sling to get round a walk, then a cafe for lunch and a bit of Christmas shopping. J liked dh carrying him in the sling, but not me and neither did my back, so that's fine.

Had him out in the backpack carrier on sunday for a short walk from the house. Plenty of smiles and he fell asleep on the way home. First wear of his pram suit too, channeling Maggie Simpson I think.

Went to a baby group on Monday. J was far too warm and was in a short sleeve vest and bare feet, and rolling over and swimming backwards threatening to flatten babies half his age and size. Funny how I've forgotten how small and squished looking 2 month olds are.

Aaah Copenhagen - I have fond memories of wandering around Tivoli gardens when pregnant with DS1 and DS2. Would love to take all 3 boys there - maybe next year...

Abzs - sounds v christmassy where you are. What sling do you have? I find different slings suit different body shapes - and babies. I'm still using the close carrier for J sometimes for short journeys but now graduated back to my Beco for longer journeys - though think am going to trade it in for an Ergo as J doesnt seem to comfortable in it. DH loves the Baby Bjorn still - think it suits his long tall figure (and J's too). Sounds like your J had great fun at the baby group!

We have the Babasling - it's a cross body one. J likes to face out, which is a bit more unstable. I need more practice.

The back pack carrier is the Osprey Poco Plus. I got a deal on it before I quit my job at the outdoor shop. It adjusts enough for dh and me to use it.

Snow is all gone now. Enjoy Berlin!

I'm trying to decide whether to get another sling as M getting to big for for moby. I have a connecta but not feeling very comfy so looking for alternatives. What is beco like dinky?
Sleep no better yet, M does have a cold but I don't think that's the issue. Thinking maybe it's teeth but teething gel/powders doing nothing. Might try calpol tonight as I'm desperate for a sleep lasting more than an hour at a time!

Bet the snow has gone now abzs it's so mild this week! Really strange for this time of year
