Weaning here has gone no further than a taste of peach juice on a finger. He seemed to like it, so I could try some actual peach may be.

Rolling seems to be reserved for his Taid only as he has barely even tried to since we got home from my dad's.

I didn't drive any where yesterday thinking

That sounds pretty scary Thinking! I'd have sworn too I think!! Our family car is a Volvo xc90 so would be fine in the snow but the school run car is a small aygo so it'd be worse than useful in the snow!! M sounds like she's growing beautifully.

Glad your GP was helpful MrsD - and that feeding is going better now you've started weaning.

Holding off on weaning here for abit - I know from giving him meds that J still has the automatic tongue thrust and he cant really sit upright v well yet. I did purees with ds1 and blw with ds2 which was so much easier - suspect will try to go the bow route with J to, reflux permitting. Off to a weaning workshop with him tomorrow which should hopefully be interesting...

N has had her worst night ever - awake every 2 hours - which wouldn't be so bad if DD1 had t been awake most of the night too. Can't complain really, but hoping thus is just temporary. We had (have) the non-sleeper with DD1.

Planning on leaving weaning until Christmas dinner unless N shows any great interest before then. We'll probably just give her some food to play with & make a mess.

A CatB tale

CatB wants out and is warned that it is cold today. CatB goes out. Has rapid change of mind and jumps up to windowsill in usual manner to demand readmittance. Slides along and off black ice on sill...

CatB is readmitted, only slightly disgruntled.

Dh has made up the big cot for J today in the annexe off our room - it remains to be seen if he sleeps any better in it! Am still cramming him into the carrycot of the pram - there's about an inch of space left around him!

I hope J sleeps better in the big cot, dinky. N was in a crib before we moved house, but she's in the travel cot now and I think she sleeps better. She doesn't lose limbs out of the side of it, which is a bonus.

Dinky Hope your J likes his new bed just enough to sleep in it, but not play around. Our J seems to have decided that feet to foot is passé and shuffling up to dunt his head off the bars at the other end is the way forward. He's also taken to throwing poor Teddy around.

We went out to Braemar today. There's snow on the ground in town there. Forgot J's coat so he ended up wrapped in my insulated gilet.

Abzs - DS1 and DS2 went through that phase- I remember it well! Fortunately J isnt that mobile yet (probably because he's still in a swaddle bag) but I'm sure its only a matter of time.

Hope you didnt get too cold out and about...

I decided at 3am on mon morning when T was screaming and wouldn't go back to sleep after already feeding 3 times enough was enough and it was time for tough love and a decent nights sleep! So last night I braced myself for hours of screaming (while wondering how long I'd actually last!) so after T feed I gave him a kiss, gave him his teddy, told him I loved him but it was time for sleep and put him in bed turned the light out and held my breath...blow me he went to sleep with bearly any fuss by 7pm! I couldn't relax as I was convinced he'd wake all evening...he stayed asleep until half midnight, fed and went straight back to sleep...then at 5am he was wide awake after his feed but I repeated the routine and he chatted for a few mins before going to sleep! Refreshed from a 'good' nights sleep I put him down for a morning nap at just gone 9am, he cried for less than 5 mins but mainly tired crying and he's still asleep now!
Sorry for the epic post but I had to share while its all going so well! I've already baked a cake and prepared dinner, now having a cup of tea! Smile

We are full of cold here. J spent most of last night experimenting with his new dark brown voice. And competing with dh's snores for keeping me awake.

Have spent weeks putting up mental obstacles to doing stuff. Now there's a genuine one I'm a bit annoyed. Was going to go to the cinema per thinking's suggestion but while baby noise is allowed I'm not sure coughs are.

Cor, it's quiet over here!

Beginning, it seems whatever has possessed your baby is having the same effect on mine. After much hideousness last week, This week he's been asleep by 8, fed once at about 3 and woken at 8ish. And he's napping in the day. So much so that I made an apricot couronne (sp?) and a loaf of rye bread.

Thinking - car escapade sounds terrifying. Hope you are all ok.

Dinky, how is J getting on in the big cot? F seem to love the 'arms flung out' baby sleep pose in his. And SNFED, home that your youngest lady bucks up her sleeping ideas soon.

Looking forward to the London meet on Thurs!

Good going Beginning - long may the good sleeping last. My J has a cold which is triggering his reflux again so he's not spending much time sleeping in his cot at night - but today he did 2 big fat day time naps (one in his cot) which gives me hope that one night in the future he will sleep through! Glad to hear F is being a sleeping beauty Clenching.

Abzs - go to the cinema armed with water and lozenges and enjoy. Hope the colds pass soon.

Cheek - hope j napped in the end. My j does that too - my rule is if I can't get him down within 10 minutes I give up and try again later...

Dinky T also has reflux but it seems to be a bit better since we started weaning, we were up every two hours feeding and T wouldn't go back in his bed so have hope!
Last night he only woke at 12:45 and 6:10, had milk, got dressed, had breakfast and went back to bed just after 8! He's 6 months on thurs (4 and a half corrected) so don't know if its an age thing, the cranial osteopath last week, the food or just one of those things but fingers crossed it lasts!

Sounds like the dreaded four month sleep regression is passing over for some of us, way to go beginning and clenching please let it be L next, please, please, pretty please? How's J sleeping in his new big cot dinky? L is still waking every two hours on a good night as he has been for nearly six weeks. Last night though must have been the worst so far for me. Had to take DD to the out of hours Dr as she's had a raging temp and sickness for three days. I think L is coming down with a cold as he is behaving like his got a sore throat -really hungry but crying and pulling away as soon as he starts feeding - he woke up every hour throughout the night and I was also up tending to DD. and now I have a sore throat too Sad so feeling quite sorry for myself.

Hoping for a better night tonight, but I've only just managed to get L to sleep, he's on my lap still so fingers crossed he doesn't wake up when he goes in his cot. Wish me luck ... Here goes! ...

Such a busy week, back and forward to hospital appts 3 times meaning having to drive through rush hour traffic 2 days as appts at 5.15. But at least the Dcs have all had their bcgs! Ds1 had to get a blood test for something else and managed to get it done without needing the special cream to numb the skin. Brave boy, I was really proud of him Grin
Looking forward to some quiet time at weekend. M has been quite unsettled over night not sure why. Dh wants to start weaning her but Im sure she will settle again. She's only ?20weeks so I want to hold off solids a bit longer. Plus I keep telling him starting weaning does not automatically mean she'll sleep better.
Quite encouraging to read here how some of the babies are doing so much better now!

Glad your DC are now all covered against bcg Thinking - what a FAFF though having different appointment times for them. On the blw workshop I went to the leader mentioned weaning can make sleep worse to start with as their digestive systems get used to kicking up a notch so probably wise to ride it out
