Hi girls,

I noticed this, think Twinkle posted on the last Nov thread by accident:

Hi all,
On Holiday in malta its fab, but its very hot 104+ Josh and the kids are doing fine though. We fly home on Tue so will try and talk more soon.I was not about much before we went on holiday as father in law fell off bottom step and is paralysed from neck down and on ventilator so holiday was touch and go, i really dont like this year. Sam says hi he is on pc with me
well must go
love to all

Just having a quick break from the heat of back garden, LO having much fun splashing around and I am scheming to sneak off again and have a lie down. Hi to all x

browniechick · 02/07/2006 21:07

Hey all - jehees it's hot - too hot! Apparently the Midlands is on for a heatwave there was a warning on the news tonight
I'm not keen on the heat - just makes me want to sleep!
Rodeo / Diege, yes, must start thinking about the Stratford Meet (ooh how exciting, I will finally meet my friends!!! ) Am away from Saturday 19th August for a week, and at a Wedding on Sunday 27th. The 13th is my birthday, but am happy to share it with you guys!
Anyway, let's see when others are free. Diege - weekend is good, as then DH can see that I am not making these friends up !! - just kidding, he knows you're real! (He saw the JK text from Rodeo, and said - who the hell is Rodeo? What a funny name!? I had to explain I left the MN name in my address book, as would get confused else! Oh and also the fact that I can only remember peoples MN names!)

Thomas has been good today - had 2 mega naps (1hour, both morning and afternoon) Bless him, it is just too hot for them in this heat hey!? Have had a couple of claps of thunder here and some drops of rain, but not enough to clear the air.

Anyway, am shattered, so am off to bed shortly.
Night

Evening girls

Yah boo sucks to this weather it's doing me in & my rain dance isn't working either but I bet it will on Wednesday when i've got all the kids over at my house

Had a lovely day today as went to a friends house for a BBQ and saw her sister and kids, their little girl is only 3 but is as tall as Ben who is big for his age and they played really well together. The couple also have a baby boy a month younger than Thomas and they were hilarious together Thomas kept stealing the other los dummy out of his mouth and laughing. Not so smart when the other baby is bigger than you though

Twinkle thinking of you if you get a chance to read this, hope your fil is getting good care and making a speedy recovery. Glad you are managing to enjoy your holiday despite of everything you deserve the break.

Tex fab piece in the magazine you look great no wonder you are so proud of the piece. Frightened the life out of my dh when I picked up a baby magazine!

GG we've seen Fireman Sam too - not a bad show really and Ben really took the get out stay out message to heart!

We're up for the Stratford meet up, I've always wanted to visit there.

I've got to tell you all this as i'm really excited about it, on Thursday my friend has pulled strings for me to go and have a go on the police skid pan, GG you will know why this appeals I can't wait to let rip on a proper surface it's gonna be fab. My friend is going to video it so I'll see if I can put a little clip on yahoo later in the week.

Right best go and sort out Ben as he is having a rough night, lots of growing pains poor little monkey. Hope you are all well Beks

Londoner · 03/07/2006 09:24

Quick hi all,

Hope you all had good weekends... phew! eh! Feels a bit cooler this morning......maybe......

Well, house is a complete bomb site as usual for a Monday so better not catch up now...... but read your post BEKs which made me lol.... wow, can you post clips on Yahoo? Would love to see - you crazy woman! Hope Ben's growing pains have finished...
ChaCha, feel for you in this heat...... into ice lollies yet?

BEKsmum · 03/07/2006 10:18

Morning all

Just a quickie from me as trying to get tidied up after the weekend.

Diege how did Libby fair with chicken pox, I'm asking as we spent the day with friends yesterday and they've just called to say that their 3 year old has woken up with CP and she was kissing and stroking Thomas yesterday so he could get it too - lovely.

I'm supposed to be having a load of friends over on wednesday for my b'day but a lot of their kids haven't had CP, am I right in thinking Tom won't be infectious for another week or so or could he be carrying the infection now?

Hope that makes sense any advice please shout! Beks

Rodeo · 03/07/2006 10:44

Morning

Another beautiful day! Am determined not to complain about the heat one bit, it'll be winter before we know it! Just had to turn the Jeremy Kyle show off - some people have s**t lives How depressing.
Am having a guilty mum morning too. Shouted at both kids this morning (just due to general dawdling and not getting on with simple tasks, book bag missing etc.) which meant tears from both just before we left for school. Also whilst trying to get the pushchair out the back door, which had helpfully been jammed by one hundred sit-on toys and bikes, I knocked Joe over on his bottom and he fell arkwardly on his ride-on tractor. Cue more tears from him Oh dear. Plan to fill the paddling pool up for their return and make some ice-lollies to make up for being a dragon.
Glad you're all up for Stratford! Dates I can't do are 19th-26th Aug, weekends are better for us too, Sundays being better than Saturdays, but could probably make a Saturday too Already asked dp and he's quite happy to come, yay! Beks, brill that you're up for it too! Any other takers? It's not too far from London for you other London-types to come up!
Planning a impromptu paddling-pool party for Bella's birthday on Wednesday (she'll be 7!) seeing as Wednesday will be the height of the heatwave! Ice lollies being top of the shopping-list
Is anyone elses baby getting up really early because of the susshine? Jess was up at 5 this morning kicking away in her cot!
Twinkle, thinking of you and your FIL, hope you're enjoying your time away
Right, with you Londoner on having a tip fot a house after weekends, back to the housework/Phil n Fern x x x

Diege · 03/07/2006 12:24

Hi everyone. Oooh I love Phil and Fen RODEO, remember sending phil a valentine's card when I was about 14, the shame of it . Don't feel too bad about the shouting btw; I don't know anyone who does keep their cool consistently in those minutes before leaving the house..and then of course you have the guilt all day... and I do think it's OK for kids to see you losing it from time to time, so they see that grown-ups do react in stressful situations, just as they do, iyswim (from some book of course, toddler-taming I think???). LOL at toys and buggy pile, we are just the same, cue me screeching every morning..'I can't get the buggy out...Jonathan come and help!!!!)
Will check calender and see when we are available for Stratford (middle is best as we are away beginning (Whitby) and end (26+).
BEKS: bad luck with the pox ; unfortuantely they are potentially infectious from contact, though some babies have immunity until 12 months (if you've had it). Libby didn't suffer too badly at all, didn't even need calpol, though rash was quite impressive! LONDONER: morning!! Have picture of you pottering around the garden in the sunshine, all calm and serene. Am I right??
Must go, am being called by colleagues for lunch (bliss..)
Speak later!
Diege x

Rodeo · 03/07/2006 12:48

How about provisionally booking the 13th then for Stratford?? Are you sure you don't mind it with it being your birthday Brownie? Thanks for the reassurance Diege Just picked Joe up, said sorry for knocking him over, and he says it's ok, it doesn't hurt anymore and he still loves me!

ChaCha · 03/07/2006 13:01

Hi girls,

Beks - What is it you're going to be doing? Explain to me please, sounds like fun anyway! Will look fwd to seeing video clip. Sorry to hear that T might be coming down with CP but I do hope birthday plans are unspoiled. Are you doing anything in the evening? Any plans without kids?

Rodeo - That brought back lovely memories of being a little 'un. Home made ice-lollies in the garden after school, they will be chuffed Happy birthday to Bella, seven eh? WoW, bet you wonder where time has gone.

Diege - Hellloooo. LO is still sleeping till 8ish here but doesn't actually sleep until very late now - he's becoming quite loud, can I say aggressive? Really shouts at us, screams at the top of his voice and can be very, very grumpy. He can also be an absolute angel and I love him to bits, cheeky monkey!!

How is everyone else? Hi Londoner, ice-lollies, second reminder, yum yum!! I am enjoying olives, pitta bread, nibbles etc. at the moment and managed to start on last year's ritual of 4 massive glasses of ice-coke last night Am going to move onto fizzy water very swiftly!

No news from Enthusia? Nova? BoB? Was wondering if Enthusia might be PG as symptoms that she asked about were not dissimilar to mine? No news? Are you out there? [wave]

Lots of happy hormones here today and a good appetite, have some work to finish and then some time with LO. Went to Dr this morning, am almost 7 weeks PG according to PG calculator, dating scan to be booked soon so that will be a better indicator i'm sure! Felt very real walking out of surgery this morning armed with Emma's diary and all other bits. Feeling more excited now rather than just shocked

Hope I haven't rambled x

Diege · 03/07/2006 13:38

Looking at hols, we come back from Whitby on the 12th, so not sure if we could make the next day (bit of an over-kill on the travel front, but will have a think...)
Hi chacha!! Ooh, Emma's diary...I remember being pregnant for two consecutive summers. I think the summers never feel the same without being pregnant, as memories are so much formed by maternjty clothes/trying to keep cool etc, etc!!
Enjoy it, it's a special time (she says forgetting about rehydration drips in the hossie!!) !

browniechick · 03/07/2006 14:03

Hey all! Gosh, still sooooo hot!!!!! phew! I's a cooking!

I don't mind if meet-up was on my birthday -once you get to a certain one, the all merge into one, either that or we start going backwards!!!
Otherwise, early September? Looks like August is getting full!! We is all such busy people!!

Well, Thomas is down having a sleep, so am taking opportunity to have lunch in peace (come on MN!) and have a sit down. Too hot and tired for much else!!

Have a good, but hot! Day everyone.

Brownie

Londoner · 03/07/2006 14:30

Hey!

Lol Diege, I should just say yes, I am floating round garden serenely, but no, working away in kitchen as ususal, sorry to shatter your illusions! lol! Elizabeth is playing with wooden spoons, pots and pans etc.... she is so close to crawling but prefers to be left to play sitting up so I keep taking her upstairs for 'crawling practice' sessions on our bed where she loves to roll about and squeal. Apparently I used to crawl around on my hands and feet really fast, so maybe Elizabeth will do this... am fascinated, my others all waited til 9 months to crawl....Lol at Libby shouting to passers by on boats, love it, "... ahoy babble!"
BEKs, don't tell your guests?..............lol at Thomas grabbing other babes dummy!
Rodeo, love your dh being asked for ID. Oh, and so exciting about Bella's B.Day, 7 is heaven according to my dd1!
Hi Tex, will try and sneak a look at article in shops......
Lol at you and your coca cola again ChaCha, glad you're feeling chipper. Enjoyed reading about Zayn 'the tyrant' lol, yes, E keeps losing her temper with me too! Yesterday she bit down hard on her cutting tooth and was in sudden pain, screamed stared hard and raged at me and then grabbed my nose and squeezed it as hard as she could, which made her go bright red and shake! She was not pleased when I laughed!

Right, pots and pans no longer interesting.... hi to all....

GarfieldsGirl · 03/07/2006 14:51

My goodness! 562 msgs in a month & 2 days, we are chatterboxes!

BEKs - a skidpan, I keep promising myself to go on one, Thruxton's not too far from us, but my dad would want to come, and he'd turn it into a competition and analyse it all afterwards, and I just want to go for a bit of fun. You'll have a great time

So BEKs & Bella share birthdays then!

Gotta decide to drive or walk to school, mmmm, decisions, descisions...too hot to walk...too blinking lazy to drive, I hate it when people drive to school when there's no need. I think thats my decision made then! So must go. See ya!!!

I'm up for a get together in Stratford, only about an hour and a half from me, am pretty easy on dates, just not 26th August, but I think thats already been ruled out anyway.

Twinkle - I hope your fil is making a good recovery while you've been away. I'm glad that the holiday has been able to take your mind off things (to a degree) and that you are having a good time.

I think the heat has zapped Sean out at night. He didn't wake 'til 4am this mornign, and that was because Owen came into us, and then woke up again at about 9am. He's normall awake almost all night.

Owen had me creased up before school today. I kept asking him what was missing, and he didn't realise 'til we were out the door that he'd forgotten his trainers!

ChaCha - Emmas Diary - I only got that 1st time round, not fair!!!! [stamping feet emoticon]

Rodeo · 03/07/2006 22:31

Just a quick one before bed, I'm sure J will be waking at 5 again tomorrow, urgh!
Yay GG another Stratford taker! OK so early Sept? That'd be fine with us, Augusts are always a busy time with everybodys hols! So how about the 3rd or 10th Sept? It'd be back to school time but that shouldn't matter should it? Any more takers?
Yes I'd forgotton you share Bella's birthday Beks! Remember from last year - wow has it really been that long?? Or rather, have I really been a MN addict for that long Hope you have a lovely one anyway Beks, you may need to fill the paddling pool right up though, and add a few ice cubes!!
Glad your feeling happy Chacha, long may it last! I'm really thrilled and excited for you too, I wonder what you'll have?? (No, don't just say a baby!) I'm going to be unbearable asking about baby names, I LOVE that topic. Think I might go for a job at the registry office!!
LOL at E's tantrum Londoner! Jess get's quite stroppy too. Today she kept lobbing her water beaker out of the trolley and reaching to pull on Joe's hair and ears while going round the supermarket. He finds it hilarious getting beaten up by her. He says he loves her 'little hands and little feet and her big head'!?!
Right better get off, dp's itching to get on to read his emails. Oh and before I forget, got a few bargains off play.com today. Got the new Charlie and the Chocolate factory DVD for 7.99! Right, speak tomorrow. Night! x x x

Diege · 03/07/2006 23:05

Hi all . Am feeling so sick, having demolished a family-size cadbury's wholenut bar (to celebrating losing 3ibs at SW, lol!!)
Early Sept would be great for me in Stratford, though if I'm the only one who can't make the 13th, please don't hold back on my account
Hope all the babies sleep better tonight...sooo hot, though not going to last up here!! Happy birthdays for Wed for Bella and Beks . Was trying to organise card for Bella from jasmine, Rodeo, but don't think I'll be able to get my arse into gear as in course tommorrow from 8 till 6 . Will get her to write a little note instead .
Falling asleep here in a pile of A-level papers; just read a classic ("questionnaires are better [than interviews] as they save time trying to get people who have committed suicide to come and talk to you"...oh I shouldn't laugh...).
Right, bed!

Londoner · 04/07/2006 10:05

Morning ,

Beautiful morning here!
Hope all you ladies with early-start babies are okay(as if mine isn't right)..... Never occured to me that the 4\5 o'clock waking could be due to light, derrr.... it always helps to find a reason for things, thank you Rodeo!
Diege, burning the candle at both ends lady, no wonder you're downing family size candy.... Lol at you celebrating losing weight with chocolate! Can you have an 'early' night/relax tomorrow? Am worried you're headed for crash and burn ...[cluck cluck]. Good advice on losing it with your kids, you're so right, thanks for that.
Twinkle, welcome back today, hope you managed to relax on holiday. Much strength your way.....
Rodeo, love picture of you sat in Joe's goal reading, lol! That's brilliant, soooo funny...... Hope you had a better morning today, can relate strongly to frayed tempers at morning school run, feels rubbish when that happens. Echo Diege's feeling on this one, and you seem like a lovely mum so hope you're over beating yourself up on that one, so sweet Joe accepting your apology in such a gracious way, that's a lovely skill to have.
Brownie, lol at you and 'Brown Owl knows best' , love it.
BEKs, Happy Birthday for tomorrow!
Well, more crawling practice on the schedule for Elizabeth today, she's just having a power nap right now .

You have a great day now!

Oh, "HAPPY 4TH JULY TEX!" AND EVERYONE!

babyonboard · 04/07/2006 13:46

Hi all,

Yeah BoB - here, lets move some of that tumbleweed out the way with ..................

?????????HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEKS & BELLA!??????????????

Hope you both have a great day!

ChaCha · 05/07/2006 10:17

Morning girls, it's very quiet on here lately (or do i just talk a lot )

H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y B E K S!!!

AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELLA!!!

Hope you both have a lovely day!!

We are due stormy weather here but just a little thunder so far. How is it everywhere else?

DS was very restless last night, think it was just too hot for us all. Looking fwd to some cooler weather. He only wants to eat his cereal and fruit purees in this weather....should i be worried?

Talk again when there's someone to talk to .. hee heee!! x

Londoner · 05/07/2006 10:47

Hi ChaCha!

Yes, Elizabeth is Just the same, only wants bananas/soft fruits and cereal...... I suppose it's fine as the cereals are fortified with vits and iron aren't they? Was thinking about this too. Reckon they're still getting most of their nutrients from milk aren't they? Maybe we could make some baby smoothies to get more down them?
Disturbed nights here too, and mosquitoes.... dancing round at 1am on an insect killing spree, lol and grrrr. And Elizabeth is waking up every hour from midnight for a bf, yawn. Looked on Kellymom for info and they say babies are due a growth spurt at @ 6 months and 9 months so maybe it's a combo of the heat and growth spurt? Remember between 6 months and 1 year being full on with the others, funny as so many people say this is when it starts to get easier, can't say I agree! Babies are v. entertaining and cuddly at this stage though. Anyone else's baby 'pinch and twist' while feeding..... keep placing soft toy/my finger in Elizabeth's hand to prevent this but then she uses the one behind my back to continue? Any ideas/tips would be much appreciated.... is that what those baby necklaces are for?

GarfieldsGirl · 05/07/2006 11:39

Happy Birthday BEKs Happy Birthday Bella

Londoner - sorry you're being woken up every hour, but its so nice to know I'm not the only one . The hot weathers actually improved things for us. I think because usually Sean won't have milk during the day, but is currently exceptionally thirsty so is actually having milk (and keeping it down), so he's doing very well at night and not waking until 4am. We are also getting the pinch and twist with the 'underneath' arm.

ChaCha - We were woken this morning by thunder, which continued for a few hours, and then VERY eavy rain until about an hour ago. Hasn't cooled it down though, and still 'no air' out there. So BEKs when you do your raindances, make sure they're for clearing rain!

Dopey mummy alert!!! Drove up to Tesco yesterday, just getting a trolley when I realised I had no money or cards. I'm so glad I remembered before I went in, and not at the checkout, so had to plod back to car and get home in rush hour traffic. OOh speaking of shopping, Tesco vans just driven past. Back later xx

Londoner · 05/07/2006 11:58

Hi GG, glad to hear Sean's doing better at sleeping.... but 4am is an unspeakable hour, don't you think? And the birds are doing their morning song by then which can make it hard to get back to sleep again once babe is down again... beautiful though it is..... Thanks for your post, I'm not alooooone in the pinch and twist... are you bf? Sorry can't remember...
Have you tried Tesco online shopping? It's great, I do mine that way now, and can always find a voucher online to pay for the delivery somehow....

Rodeo · 05/07/2006 12:09

Morning!

Happy Birthday Beks!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes for Bella - I must show her later She had a lovely party yesterday, I spent most of the time smothering children in suncream and fetching drinks but it was fun She's had a great time opening her presents too, she's been after a Leapster for ages and has finally got one!
Jess is also refusing food, and agree that it is probably the heat, I'm sure having mostly milk for a while is fine, but the baby smoothie idea is fab! Naptimes are also a bit difficult too in the heat, I've put Jess up 3 times this morning to have her screeching 15 minutes later - think she's finally gone off now!
Londoner, love the idea of crawling practice! Never had you down as a pushy mum 'Twist & Pinch' sounds painful! Get a set of chunky beads on, think there's quite a few on the high street at the mo? Seem to recall (through baby-induced fashion-fogginess) they are in at the mo??!! Bob?! Diege?!
GG, I'm usually on the wrong side of the checkout when I remember to check I've brought my purse, I've not yet come a cropper, but always get that panicky sinking feeling!
Diege, hope those papers are going ok Thanks for the tip re getting info out of folks who have committed suicide - I now know to go down the questionnaire route!
Bob, Hello! Any cooler down your end? Cloudy up here but no rain yet....
Bugger I've just spilt tea down my linen trousers, better change before playgroup pick-up. Bye! x

Rodeo · 05/07/2006 12:13

I obviously mean 'Pinch & Twist'! And have a great time on the skiddy thing tomorrow Beks!!

browniechick · 05/07/2006 12:33

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEKS & BELLA !!!!!!

Hope you have a lovely day!
Rodeo - glad to hear Bella had a fab party

It has rained a bit here today (after almighty thunderstorm and torrential rain last night!) but nothing too spectacular as yet. Air appears slightly cooler, but not holding out much hope!

Ooh - for the shopaholics (Diege / Rodeo!!) am off to the Debenhams sale tonight - have seen a fab top that I am hoping to get (providing they still have my size left!) and obviously any other marvellous bargains which have to be had!

Well, better go and do some work!
Anyone heard from Nova? Hope her and Nat are ok. Am worried about them - sending you girls!
Speak later,

Brownie
