MLady · 07/07/2006 13:26

Fantastic! Yes, BoB is near here, and Tex and BEKs, it'd be lovely to have a gathering wouldn't it! Muffins, yum!.

babyonboard · 07/07/2006 13:56

sorry londoner shouldn't have posted that..especially given my experience of crazy real life people stalking..lol

I have reported myself, so they should remove it!

Oz will not wake up..and I don't want to make him cry..lol..any tips?!

OP posts:
Londoner · 07/07/2006 14:03

Oh BoB thank you.

RE: waking baby.. make some toast? Smell of food usually wakes mine...

Failing that, pretend to run yourself a nice bath, creep around a bit on eggshells and pretend to make a quiet phonecall.... that should do it . Good luck.

babyonboard · 07/07/2006 14:09

Job done..I put some music on in the bedroom..lol!
He's now sucking on a rice cake..hehee

I'll send your love to tex londoner..I know she gets little chance to post here..I'll be the same soon! hehe

talk soon love to all
Twinkle & Co.

ChaCha · 07/07/2006 15:57

Really sorry to hear that Twinkle Hope you've had a good rest on holiday though. Any holiday snaps to share?

Londoner - LOl at run yourself a bath, make quiet phone call DS has been great today, have managed to do a lot of chores and am ready to start work this evening. The sight of freshly washed babygro's, little PJ's and other bits makes me feel very...what's the word? Maternal? Hmm..not sure. DS is happy today because we've been playing together, I've been singing to him, he's seen me around doing stuff while he sits in highchair nibbling, playing on floor etc.. This is going to sound really strange but I feel that he felt somewhat neglected when I was busy all the time with work - my imagination really? He's one happy little boy today, thank God.

Question: Gave him a jar of fruit for first time (very handy when you just can't do the homemade stuff) it was apple and blueberry. Homemade purees are always apple and/or pear. Anyhow, and this is TMI be warned, his pooh this afternoon has been awful, teal/grey coloured and his little bum is all red and blotchy have never seen this before and was wondering if it was a reaction to blueberry? Anyone? Thanks.

I've become a little too hooked on Hollyoaks...wonder if OB will spill the beans...he heee!

Rodeo · 07/07/2006 17:09

Afternoon!
Wow it's busy on here! LOVE it!
Chacha, aw at you feeling all motherly looking at the washing, wish I felt like that about my washing! But to me washing's just a constant drain on my time and energy !
Twinkle, what awful news about your FIL How old is he? Love to you all anyway x
Londoner - I also have a MN psuedonym (sp?)! I was 'itstings' for one thread I started, LOL! Like your method of waking children, how nice I though it was just me who woke to the smell of cooking. Mmmmm, bacon sandwiches! Thanks for the sunshade link, think I'll get one for ours - the quinny has a particularly crap sunshade...
Lil, nice to hear your news, well done to Nate the little crawler! I'm sure he'll speed up v. soon!
Diege, like your work from home days, they sound fun! Where are your gorge jeans from?
Joe's got his picture in our local paper today, his playgroup has taken responsibility for some new recyling bins and the mayor came to visit
And I've found out who his teacher is for next year, and she's v.nice. Phew! Got some little sweatshirts for him and a little bookbag! Ahh!
Meant to say earlier, thinking of all you Londoner's on this sad anniversary.
Speak later x

babyonboard · 07/07/2006 17:38

Hi again!

Twinkle..
Thats sad news..best wishes to you and your family
don't worry about posting on here hope you keep happy despite the madness at home..

Chacha..today I washed some newborn babygros
and didn't put them through the dry spin..just hung them on the radiators to admire..(oh dear..) ..knew there was a reason I didn't give them away..teehee

Diege.. sounds like a crazy day! at least some of your many activities were pampering though! lol at 'not maternity!' comment..but glad to hear you might be considering it...

Rodeo..aah! how lovely..it will be nice to cut out and keep that pic!

We had a lovely time at tex's..though short as I ended up napping, then O took ages to eat his lunch (proper risotto for the first time!!) so we didn't get there til mid afternoon...T is so sweet and so full of energy..he delighted in telling me all about dinosaurs and showed me some he'd made from lego! R is such a cutie, (and had the best outfit on...I want a girl!!) and amazingly dextrous, she was passing things from hand to hand and bashing them together...also very chatty! lol

Best go get busy now...FIL and girlfriend are visiting tomorrow and are very very fussy, so lots of food to buy and cleaning to be done..

OP posts:
ChaCha · 07/07/2006 17:46

LOL BoB - I read that as napping at Tex's place, he hee..was going to suggest we find a niche at Londoner's for an afternoon nap, ha ha! only kidding. Good luck with family visit, btw, does your DP speak another language? And if yes, will Ozzie be learning it?

Rodeo - The baby's garms are the only thing that I delight in washing. The rest is boring and as you say. Awww at sweatshirts and wee bag!

I Just watched a kid's drama about JULY 7 bombings, was really, really good, and i noticed someone familiar, 'oh' i thought 'i used to go to school with her' waited for the cast and yes it was! Just read that she has appeared in a few films and dramas. Amazing!

ChaCha · 07/07/2006 17:48

Gosh
My posts are just too riveting for words!

babyonboard · 07/07/2006 18:14

chacha..don't be so silly..
everything goes on here..and your post wasn't dull at all..
some of mine have been...
and on that note I'd like to mention I was worried oz had been sick on tex's lovely rug earlietr (but no..just all over his top) ..blah blah mummy talk..snigger

I read my post back and it does read like I napped at tex's..lol..I didn't but..londoner..hope you have a nice fresh bed for me and chacha..just in case!
Londoner do you have a bbq? we could all bring dishes and have a nice garden party.

I love seeing people I know on tv..makes me feel a bit famous too..teehee

chacha..yes he does, and yes he will..we have gotten dp's aunt to post books for babies in their language , so he has both...

it's a very useless language for say, jobs or holidays, , but pretty much the same as serbo croatian which is much more common, plus he will be able to talk to his family there (i can't with the elder generation which is very frustrating!)
and watch amazing foreign films without subtitles!

I have learnt a little, but can't roll r's and with my english accent they still don't quite understand me..
I did however get a round of applause for managing to say 'I would like the fish, salad, cheese, bread and a beer please' lol

OP posts:
babyonboard · 07/07/2006 18:20

Chacha..how about Z ? will you teach him arabic?

and if it's not too personal a question..will you bring him up with your religion?

OP posts:
babyonboard · 07/07/2006 18:26

only me.lol

re. the bombings, I am consciously not watching the news tonight as I know I will cry...It was so awful that morning, me and my flatmate had the radio and t/v on, from when they said it was a power surge, to all sorts...getting mixed reports , being really confused.. to them finally aying what had happened..we were both trying to call our d.p's and friends but couldn't get through..my flatmate ended up going off on his rollerblades to central london where his girlfriend worked ...

It was so so sad that day..

OP posts:
Rodeo · 07/07/2006 20:52

Oh Bob, it must have been terrible It was awful watching it unfold on the news up here, but if I lived there and my family and friends were there it would have been 10000000x worse. How does it feel now, living and travelling in London? Glad you had a nice time at Tex's. Hope you gave her our love I also read it as napping at Tex's LOL! Pictured you knocked out on her sofa!
Chacha, LOL at your famous friend! And your addiction to Hollyoaks! How is Z's bottom? Maybe it was the blueberries, they can be quite acidic can't they? I whizzed some strawbs into some greek yog for J for lunch and you should have seen the colour!! It was toxic pink! I couldn't beleive how bright it was! If it'd been a bought strawb yog I would have binned it thinking it had colouring overload! LOL my posts are almost as riveting as yours
Aw, all our bilingual babies, that's really fab
Right, off to enjoy my friday night, dp's out fetching a takeaway (again!)
Night xx x

BEKsmum · 07/07/2006 22:49

Hi ya

Londoner can I invite myself along next week? Ben will be at school so I'll have to shoot off early but it would be great to see everyone. Bob with only one in the car I could pick you up & drop you back if you like, as long as I'm back at the school for 3:20. Promise not to practice my new stunt driving on you

Chacha z's nappy sounds ok, as Rodeo says they can be quite acidic but don't panic when you see tomorrows nappy contents as they will be very dark to black so don't go giving youself a fright like I did the first time I saw the aftermath

Diege do you really get paid for these working at home days - if yes can I have a job please!!!

LilJ - way to go Nate, there goes your peace and quiet!

Twinkle I don't know what to say, anything I think of sounds so inadequate, love to you and your family during this traumatic time. We're all here for you if you need us in any way.

Bob I'm with you, I haven't had the news on all day today as Ben would have just asked too many difficult questions, he is already morbidly fascinated by the flowers that are left at the roadside after an accident so this would have blown his mind. I find the whole terrorism thing hard to understand I don't see how a fanatical minority can ever believe that they are acting on behalf of the peace loving majority and using religion as the base of it just seems ludicruos(sp) to me as I believe faith can only ever be a personal thing. Sorry that all got a bit heavy didn't it

Stange as it may seem to you guys who don't live in London but yesterday on the train & tube it just didn't occur to me what the next day was, I think you just don't think about it, if you did you would never travel in London and I think after all the years of the IRA bombings in a weird way it just becomes second nature to you and you accept the possible dangers believing it will never happen to you.

Right on a lighter note I am taking Ben riding for the first time on Sunday any advice for you girls that ride would be greatly appreciated.

Right off to bed, night night

Londoner · 07/07/2006 23:29

Hi,

Just dropping in, shh, am meant to be packing... BEKs, that'd be great! BoB can you invite Tex aswell please, in case she doesn't see this? And if anyone else wants to come you're very welcome.

nighty night, speak monday......

ChaCha · 08/07/2006 12:25

Sorry Londoners - there's been a change of plan. DH has changed working week in London to next week, so he's there the 18th, 19th and 20th. Have i now messed the plans up or can it be postponed a week?

Londoner you probably won't see this until Monday. Hope it's okay.

Diege · 08/07/2006 21:53

Hi everyone Hope you are all having good weekends. It's raining here , and to thinbk how I was only willing it to rain last week!!.
Nothing much to report here, though Libby can now move the length of the lounge floor by crawling on her back if this makes sense; a sort of shuffle with back arch...think she will def. be the LAST one of the babies to walk, lol .
Oh BEKS, yes yesterday was a spectacularly lazy day on my behalf...would have been for it if they had tried to contact me work . I certainly payong for it this weekend, as have had nose forced to grinbdstone by looming deadlines!! (still managed 3 hours off to get highlights done though, hee hee!!!)
Speak tommorrow!

babyonboard · 09/07/2006 13:43

Hi all!

Diege lol at crawling on her back! shows initiative at least! hehhee

Chacha..I will be free..hope londoner is too.

Beksmum, if you can make the revised date then that would be lovely! ..if we didn't have tots in the car I'd be tempted to see you in action!

Best dash....we are busy busy busy so I just came in here to hide out for a quick cake and coffee in peace..lol

GarfieldsGirl · 09/07/2006 14:31

Hi everyone, looks like its busy weekends all round

bob - lol at you sneaking in a cake & co9ffee!

Diege - re babies. When we met DP wanted a family like he's got (his mum had 9!!!!!). I told him where he could go with that idea. He's been saying that if O had been like S, then we wouldn't have had S, but I think the other babies in the street have made him realise that Seans not that bad. I'm hoping to convince him to have 2 more at least. Maybe I will turn into his mum after all! Def dounds very positive for you having more.

Just had a major panic when I saw th stuff about GA splitting. But not 'til next year, Phew! TBH, I thinkits been coming.

Enjoy the rest of your weekends.

GG xx
