I feel a little bit bad about starting this thread just now as there have been heartbreaking stories on mumsnet over the past couple of days. Ladies our thoughts are with you.

This antenatal club is particularly special, as after a long difficult nine months for all of us we are now the lucky ones who get to hold our beautiful little babies. There are lots of challenges ahead for us, of course. but hopefully we can all continue to offer support , advice and friendship during the more happy times

The Doctor sounds like a nutter. I would report him to someone.
Snowboo, It is very hard when you have to do all the work, my DH is very good but has been working a lot since we came back. DS 1 is on half days at school so havent been able to do much and am feeling a bit isolated now. How old is your DS snowboo ( I really like the name Austin by the way)

However am looking forward to the weekend, as I am going to see Robbie Williams in Milton Keynes. DH will have the boys all weekend, he he.

SnowBoo · 14/09/2006 11:14

DS1 is 4 in Nov, Austin is now 6weeks 1day!

A weekend off?? When dh is off he plays golf! Lucky you seeing Robbie!

Sitting here listening to Womble song....oh how life changes!!

slinkstah · 14/09/2006 13:29

yes my dr is a nutter i am changing drs tommorrow for another practise. i think it may be because she is muslim so maybe has different ideas on how to deal with foreskins etc. she is also old and obviously out of date.

snowboo you have my sympathies about your dp not doing much. mine does help out a bit, but he does not care for lo very often, he is still fingers and thumbs with him to be honest!

cori hope you have a good time this weekend seeing robbie
i can't bring myself to leave lo with anyone, even dp- i am probably over protective, but he really doesnt go long bettween feeds, so even popping to the shops without him seems impossible.

HellKat · 19/09/2006 11:17

Hiya all!
Wow never have a free mo to myself anymore lol. If Katie does'nt need me, Damian does.
We're all great here. She's 8 weeks old today, weighs 7lb10zs & thinks she's alot older by the way she acts lol. Little madam has mastered the art of flipping over onto her tum so she can't be put anywhere unless it's her bouncing chair or pram. Poor little sweety's caught my cold though (shame on me ) so she's lovely & snotty.
Hope everyone's doing well.
Big {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} to all!

cori · 19/09/2006 12:49

DS 2 has a cold too, dont feel guilty. They have to build up those antibodies somehow. Poor little thing is snuffling , and sneezing a coughing. Is also teething as well so not a happy bunny.

OP posts:
SnowBoo · 19/09/2006 14:24

HK, can't believe Katie is already 8 weeks! Its mad how the time is flying by.

Sat down and compared red books from Ds1 and baby last night and baby is steaming ahead! He is bigger in every way apart from height. He is 2cm smaller than ds1 but is just under 2lb heavier than him at the same age. Madness.

slinkstah · 28/09/2006 12:22

hiya all
ds2 has snuffles too, i keep picking his massive bogeys, he seems so pleased once there gone lol

im on a diet atm trying to lose the weight after pg i have 1st8lb to go but its just not shifting even though im blumin starvin!!!

petunia · 28/09/2006 14:46

Afternoon all,
Just a little update on how Emily's doing. She was 5 months old exactly yesterday! Where has the time gone? I started her on baby rice on Sunday- I know the government advice is to b/feed for 6 months but it had got to the stage where she always had her fist in her mouth and had started showing an interest in our food (she was looking longingly at DHs crisps on Tuesday evening and his yogurt at lunchtime today!) I'm still b/feeding her. A few weeks ago I bought a breast pump from a car boot sale for a quid! (I know that sounds minging but it's all been dishwashed and sterilised) I've never had one before and think it's one of the best things I've ever come across.

Hope everyone and their little ones are doing well.

SnowFrightBoooooo · 12/10/2006 21:54

where are we all?

petunia · 14/10/2006 15:28

Hiya snow. I'm wondering the same thing? I check in everyday but no one's been on, so I go away again!

TheIgnoredWoman · 14/10/2006 22:20

Haha Pet, thats what ive been doing then thought sod it, i'll see if im the only one about....

Hows it going? And where has Slink gone again?? Revives thread then buggers off lol....

petunia · 15/10/2006 08:15

We're doing OK, thanks. Little Emily (not so little!) is 5 1/2 months old and doing well on solids. She's just had her first breakfast (gluten-free rusk) and pureed carrots, apples and bananas are going down well.

Guess everyone else is busy but be nice if they put in a "hellooooo" every now and then!

slinkstah · 17/10/2006 18:27

helloooooooo!! im here, i pop in and grumble to myself theres no one around then i pop off again lol

Eden is almost 4 months, i am going to wean at 5 months i think as he is going down in the weight charts yet i am feeding him constantly.

and big news......
i am now back to my "just after having baby" weight, only 1.2 stone to go and ill be back in my "thin" jeans ive lost 12lb over the last 5 weeks

hope everyone is ok
when did you start weaning emily petunia?
snowboooooo hows ya LO
love slinkPumpkinPants

TheIgnoredWoman · 17/10/2006 18:51

whoooo its Slinky Slink! lucky you, ive been gaining weight as i am a pig!!!

TheIgnoredWoman · 17/10/2006 18:51

soz, will post properlyl ater....ds1 has now decided to join me!!!! Arghhhhhhhh

petunia · 17/10/2006 21:26

Helloooooo slink!

I started weaning Emily 3 weeks ago when she was 5 months exactly. I think her weight was OK but I didn't like seeing her with her fist in her mouth all the time and looking at our food (she hasn't done that since I started weaning). I'm still going to wait another couple of weeks before introducing stuff with gluten in (following government advice and because I'm slightly asthmatic and everything to do with the allergy side of things)

Ps I think wools is about to join us. From reading on the pregnancy thread, she's booked in for induction tomorrow.

slinkstah · 18/10/2006 12:07

lol i started gaining weight fast after i had him and was horrified when i came back off holiday 12lb heavier could fit in any clothes, i can now again though phewwwww!
i am thinking about weaning ds2 i would like to wait til 6 months but i am so tired of feeding every hour day and night my boobs are empty when i wake up!!!

i have been trying to mix feed aswell but he wont take a bottle- not even with my milk in it. I have had to put off going back to uni because of this.

also he is sitting up for 10 seconds before falling over, he is a week off 4 months so this is amazing i reckon, my baby is really superman lol

anyway i could do with buggy recommendations, what do you all have? i really want one that faces me as dont like not being able to see him when we go out. I do feel i can't protect him from bags etc, and in london people dont care where there bags or lit cigarttes go.

well LO has just fallen asleep i hope he's asleep long enough for me to get some lunch.

Snowboo · 18/10/2006 19:56

Well i have the Urban Bebecar pram/buggy, Maclaren something or other, a Spanish buggy thing, a Mamas & Papas pramette and a Mothercare cheapy red one!!!!

slinkstah · 19/10/2006 00:20

5 i definatly need to add to my collection i only have 2! i have a graco quattro deluxe and a mothercare citilite the older nicer colour version than the one in the recent catalogue. I am shopping for another - ive been looking at bebecar they look really nice. i did get a mamas n paps but i thought it was pap!
i have to buy one sell one though as i only have a small space to keep them in a communal hallway otherwise they have to go in the living room and then we may not be able to watch tv

Snowboo · 19/10/2006 13:08

Hmmmm. Maybe i should just get rid of some??? Hehe. Collect anything if given the chance!!!

cori · 20/10/2006 20:03

Hello everyone, Sorry havent been around for a while. I have just come back from Australia, can you believe it. I had an emergency telephone call a few weeks ago, my nan was very ill so I decided I had to go home and see her. So we were all booked and on a flight within 5 days. It turned out to be a great trip and I was there for her 90th birthday. Everyone very happy to see us, and both boys travelled perfectly.

Nathaniel is doing well. he is five months now and is able to sit up for a couple of minutes at a time, he is also trying to crawl despite my best efforts to prevent it. I have also started on solids because he takes up to 8 ounces at one feed so poor thing seems really hungry.

Hi Ladies,

Well I've finally managed to make it over to this thread from pregnancy after miscarriage thread.

I gave birth to my 3rd child last Thursday - dd named Orla, 7lb 10oz - she is beautiful.

Am breastfeeding (with a couple of bottles of formula thrown in) but finding it quite hard, although the last day or two has been somewhat easier.

How are you all doing - glad to be able to join this thread at last.

SlinkyPumpkinPants · 27/10/2006 10:10
