I feel a little bit bad about starting this thread just now as there have been heartbreaking stories on mumsnet over the past couple of days. Ladies our thoughts are with you.

This antenatal club is particularly special, as after a long difficult nine months for all of us we are now the lucky ones who get to hold our beautiful little babies. There are lots of challenges ahead for us, of course. but hopefully we can all continue to offer support , advice and friendship during the more happy times

Hi all,

Uki: Good luck with the IVF! I've been through it...so if you want to chat, feel free.

Emily's feeding patten is better now. I am expressing milk with one of those electric pumps so she is having it more at set times which enables me to make more. We are also giving her formula. Full baby = happy baby = more rest for everyone!

Lots of love,

NS XXX

firestar,

It takes 1/2 an hour when full to express 4 flozs. At othertimes it is not worth it but you'll know pretty quickly.

Lots of love,

NS XXX

DonDons · 08/08/2008 14:36

firststar - it used to tak eme 10 mins to express 6oz (until the pump packed up)

becklespeckle · 09/08/2008 23:31

DonDons, yes time does fly past, Evie is 7 months old now, how slowly the pg dragged and how fast it is going now she is here! FWIW I am a bit of an ! over user too - hoping it makes me come across as cheerful rather than manic!

Uki that is great news about your test results although as Firsty said, am sorry too. As you say, IVF is not an easy road but knowing you will be far far less likely to MC must be a real comfort. I think the fear of MC will stop me from having anymore DCs (although 3 is probably enough). 3 mcs & 3 DCs gives me a 50% sucess rate which is not high enough for me.

Firsty, it is very amusing to watch her trying to crawl, today she has been getting onto her hands and knees, belly-flopping forwards then drawing her knees back under her - she looks like a drunk caterpillar!

Hi All

Thanks for all your good wishes.

newbishad- thanks for offering to chat, I may well have some questions , although i have a full day interview comming up, my goodness not looking forward to a day of interviews, sounds tedious.
how's bubs? glad to hear bubs is happier with more food.

Firsty- I'm not too sure when I will start, soonish I hope. How about u? plans for no. 2 we can be pg together again...ahhhh

beckle- evie sounds gorgeous, crawling away, I think 3 will proably be enough dc's for me too.a few friends have / are thinking of a third, but I'm scared a might be in the minority.

Hi Firsty
that's a shame about dh not wanting another when you do, are u ok with that?
I have known some men to change their minds, maybe he will come round for you and ds
there's been plenty of suprise third pg's in my cirle of friends lately, really 's me, as how do you not know how to make a baby IYKWIM.

Hi Daisy -how r u? you must be getting over being pg stage

I'm still waiting for an IVF start date, it's taking soooo long, very tiring, and although there will be hardly any chance of m/c it feels like there might be hardly any chance of pg at this rate.

anyway how is everyone else, successes are growing up super fast here, lots of walking

Hi guys

Sorry to hear you sounding so down Firsty, I hope your DH does change his mind about another LO, mine was adamant he did not want a 2nd (changed his mind when DS1 was 8 months) or a 3rd (changed his mind when DS2 was 3) and yet it was him suggested trying for each one. Men are a strange species and I find it hard to believe my DSs will grow up to be one someday!

Uki, I have to say I am always a little at surprise pregnancies, a friend of mine had 5 and another has just announced her 3rd! The LOs are indeed growing up very fast, Evie is now a proficient crawler, can pull up on furniture, take a couple of cruising steps and get into much mischief! She's so cheeky and cute though I can't be cross! Today she pulled herself up on the recycle bin and was delighting in pulling everything out!

Uki · 18/09/2008 11:27

Ohh Firsty- I think I understand, but you will be missed. Just enjoy Ty for now, they are learning so much it's amazing, isn't it?
seeyou sometime soon

Beckle LOL- 5 suprises, obviously not very fussed about having more then
My dh is definately on the strange species too, 95% top dad, except when tired and so is ds1 and he expects ds(3) to act like a 12 year old. Not really sure how that fits into the conversation but it is my grip of the day IYKWIM

Daisy-where r u?

newbishad · 01/10/2008 17:22

Uki,

Feel free to ask me any questions if you have any re IVF.

I haven't been on Mumsnet for a while but I will check in from time to time.

Love NS XXXXX

Uki · 19/10/2008 10:38

Hi Newbishad
thanks so much, it is all quite a process. ihave a new understanding of it all, as i didn't realize all this work up stuff and the amount of meds. i have had only my 7 jab so far, long way to go. probably the worst thing is my negativity i'm worried after tests there wil be no ems. I've been given a slim chance and am almost certain to be FET the month after as fresh would be out of time, arrrg

hows everything with you?

where's daisy?

Woooozle100 · 24/10/2008 15:49

hello all - i forgot about this thread too. Hope you are all well

Uki - best of luck with ivf/ Is it pgd you are doing? I have a balanced chromosome translocation which prolly caused reacurrent my mc. I would go down pgd road for future pg - long long way off if at all tho

All the best

BouncingTurtleSkulls · 26/10/2008 08:35

Hello!!

Uki - best of luck with the IVF, will keep my fingers crossed for you

Daniel is 10months tomorrow

Jossiejump · 26/10/2008 23:11

Just returning to MN, after a break and wanted to say hello to the familiar names (and not familiar as well!)
My little gorgeous boy is a not so little 11 month old and is walking. When I think back to this time last year when I was waiting for his arrival after 3 m/c I can't quite believe it. He is spoilt rotten by everybody, including his 2 big brothers-I'm just thankful that I didn't give up hope. (Sorry if I sound soppy, but I am!

BouncingTurtleSkulls · 27/10/2008 06:49

You don't sound soppy at all, that's wonderful!

LackaDAISYcal · 27/10/2008 20:07

I keep on losing this thread as well!

hi everyone , especially Uki; thanks for asking after me

38+5 here and getting very fed up. Have been having niggly pains for over a week now and then this afternoon something went twang when I sat down and I've had regular, not terribly painful tightenings since, although since teatime It's been getting a bit "more" and I have awful backache/periody cramps and just can't get comfy.

But, looks like I might be in for the long haul with this one; tricksy third labour and all.

firsty I've probably missed you, but if you are lurking, my DH wasn't keen on trying again after my two mcs and when we actually sat down and talked about it, it was because he didn't want me going through the trauma of another miscarriage. Once we had discussed the pros and cons and he saw how important it was to me, he relented a bit.

Good luck with the IVF Uki, and I hope you get some good news soon.

I#ll try and pop in and keep this in my sctive convos, but I'm generally around on AN/PN and whatever crops up in active convos. DH has just got a job locally so he will be home every night so I may find my MN time severely compromised soon enough

Take care everyone

BouncingTurtleSkulls · 27/10/2008 21:02

My word Daisy, it has come around quick - doesn't seem that longer ago you told us your were pg!
Good luck and I'm sending lots of nice labour vibes your way

LackaDAISYcal · 27/10/2008 21:41

hi BT...I have been following you around trying to catch you but always seem to miss you online....of course I could FB you,but that would be too easy!

I still have your article from the Durham picnic. Do you need it sending back?

I saw my new consultant today about my VBA2C and it was a very positive meeting in which she has agreed that I don't have to have CFM and can be checked with a doppler at 10-15 minute intervals. she also didn't insist I arrange a post dates elCS which the old hospital were pressuring me to do; she just said call us when you are fed up waiting (within reason of course) and hasn't even arranged a post dates appointment for me as she is happy that I will labour spontaneously and naturally

BouncingTurtleSkulls · 28/10/2008 08:58

Daisy - yes that would be great! Have you got my address?

That's brilliant news about you VBA2C. Will be checking for your Birth Announcment. Have you had many twinges yet?

LackaDAISYcal · 28/10/2008 10:11

I don't think I do BT; can you email or FB me?

LOTS of twinges going on. Was woken up four times last night but getting up and walking it off helped. Also had a couple of big BHs/small contractions this morning. normally BHs don't kick off till mid afternoon so it's all stepping up a gear

BouncingTurtleSkulls · 28/10/2008 13:59

OOh, could be any day now
Will message you tonight when I get home with my address.

BOOkleSpookle · 28/10/2008 15:06

Oooh Daisy! Good luck hun! Sounds like things are starting for you! FWIW my third labour was the least tricksy (apart from DD getting stuck but that was due to the size of her!) and fastest although I was induced. Positive easy birth vibes flooding your way from me!
