I feel a little bit bad about starting this thread just now as there have been heartbreaking stories on mumsnet over the past couple of days. Ladies our thoughts are with you.

This antenatal club is particularly special, as after a long difficult nine months for all of us we are now the lucky ones who get to hold our beautiful little babies. There are lots of challenges ahead for us, of course. but hopefully we can all continue to offer support , advice and friendship during the more happy times

cori · 03/11/2006 14:27

I have been in touch with Arabica. Her DD still has feeding problems, a lot of reflux i think so her weight gain is slow, I think she has quite poor muscle tone as well, they havent reached a diagnosis but have ruled out lots of nasty things. Hasnt had any ops as far as I am aware/

no offence to anyone else lol

i have started weaning!!!! he was so ready as even the first food he had he was opening his mouth for the spoon. I was planning on waiting til he was 6 months but with ds2 already sitting unaided and chewing his hands like crazy i thought he would be ready.
diddle are you weaning josh yet?
cori - if ya speak to arabica send hugs

MrsChristmasboo · 19/11/2006 19:34

Mygirl congrats! And welcome to the dark side!!

How old is Eden now Slink? Austin is sitting up and doing all the things he shouldn't be doing, keeps waking up really hungry. Spoke to nurse and we agree he is nearly ready to eat!!!! ARghhhhhhh

Cori, send my love to Arabica, hope all is ok there.

twocatsonthebed · 21/11/2006 12:43

And now I'm here too! Along with baby Edie, who was born almost a week ago (two weeks late!) and is absolutely lovely. Will post a full story of the rather roller-coaster birth and first week at some point, but we are now home and everything is fine. Can't wait to join in properly when my brain comes back a bit more.

wools · 21/11/2006 17:03

Great to have you over here Twocats and very many congratulations - love the name Edie by the way. Look forward to hearing more news when you get time.

petunia · 21/11/2006 17:44

Evening all,
Haven't been on a while and there are more graduates! Congrats to Mygirl and 2Cats.
Slink- welcome to the weaning club! I've just started Emily on lumpier food. She doesn't really like anything other than breastmilk for drinks though. Desperately looking for something else that she might like to drink.
Emily's 7 months old next week, and noticed she's got 2 teeth that have just pushed their way through at the bottom. She's trying to crawl, another week-10 days and they'll be no stopping her!
Hope everyone else is well.

twocatsonthebed · 22/11/2006 18:01

Birth Announcement as promised.

We've now been at home for three days, and, so far, are coping really well - have had a few problems with breast feeding sitting up, mainly due to the size of my norks, but other than that, all is very well, and the c-section is healing extraordinarily. Went out today for the first time to Boots (ooh, all of 300 yards from the house). Tomorrow we may get in the car....

MrsChristmasboo · 22/11/2006 22:55

Congratulations 2cats!

Slinkstar · 27/11/2006 16:30

hiya
congratulations twocats the birth sounds stressful but im so glad you now have your precious baby

eden is 5 months now and is having 1 meal a day, if you could call a tablespoon of apple puree a meal

i had a driving lesson last week and it was a disaster, i was crap and i almost exploded the clutch and made it smell really bad and the instructor got out of the car and checked it and everything !!! it was 2 hours long and i thought eden would be ok but he screamed and screamed and dp had to call me back after 1 1/2 hours.

So, mygirl, in the end your dd was born just a day after mine! You sound like you are being very industrious - I am still at the new mother stage of congratulating myself when we're up, dressed and speaking in coherent sentences. Although she is a very good baby at the moment, and I am anticipating that it will all fall apart in a few weeks....

wools · 29/11/2006 18:16

Hi e veryone,

Slink - I can;t believe Eden is 5 months already - times flies.

Mygirl - life sounds very busy for you - good luck with the househunting. Orla has still got dry feet and hands and she is 6 weeks tomorrow.

Twocats - Know what you mean about getting yourself up and ready...today I was still in my dressing gown at 10 o'clock even though I had been up since 6.

cori · 04/12/2006 19:59

Hi everyone,
Glad to see all your babes are doing well. Nathaniel is almost 7 months, has been crawling for well over a month and is pulling up to stand. Started on solids but he is not overly interested likes bread sticks and such things but not to fussed on purees. Am not stressing about it though. He is a big lad anyway so will get the idea eventually.

So whats everyone gettting for there DBs for there first Christmas.?

happy belated birthday mygirl
hows ya dd4 doing?

hows everyone else doing?

Eden was soo consipated last week i took him off solids completely, poor guy was screaming in pain whilst trying to poo. he's better now and ive started him back on solids but am keeping off starchy stodgy veg and bananas.

I didn't dare ask the health visitor what i should do as on her last visit something very crazy happened(it could only happen to me i swear!) anyway i filled the kettle to make a cuppa for her and basically my tap fell to bits and water started spraying everywhere! my healthvisitor was stuck holding a towel over the tap for 1/2 hour whilst i rang the plumber - the stop cock was in the wall fully plastered over, and when the plumber finally got to it, it didnt work!!!!
so poor health visitor left completely soaked

how's ya xmas shopping going? i have almost done. got eden a fab m&p rocker - wanted to let ya know its half price in argos atm!

Morning all,
Not been on lately, been very busy in the petunia household.

Slink- hope Eden's OK. DD1 was constipated for a few months when I was weaning her because she wouldn't drink anything. The doctor put her on lactulose. All DDs also liked the water from cooked eating apples in a beaker.

Little Emily's doing well (now nearly 8 months old). She's had her first dose of antibiotics this week though. She caught a cold and was wheezing terribly. I took her to the doctor, said her chest was clear but as a cover, he's given her some antibiotics (think because she's so young, there was so much catarrh on her chest and he didn't want it turning in to an infection). It seems to be clearing up now. Not sure how much she weighs but she's definitely heavier than DDs 1 and 2 at this age. Her kness and thighs are so big that we think she's going to be a women's rugby player!

So all that remains, is for me to thank you for all your support this year and to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year (and to use one of these . I like the festive smileys )

Happy New Year to you all.

haven't been on here for ages and ages, hope everyone is ok.

Had a goof first Chrismas with Joshua, he's been wonderful.

Slink i've had constipation problems with Josh in the last week too. I read somewhere that Bananas can help it rather than hinder it, he's very reluctant to drink any water right now, but hopefully things are getting slightly better.

Hows everyone doing?
