I feel a little bit bad about starting this thread just now as there have been heartbreaking stories on mumsnet over the past couple of days. Ladies our thoughts are with you.

This antenatal club is particularly special, as after a long difficult nine months for all of us we are now the lucky ones who get to hold our beautiful little babies. There are lots of challenges ahead for us, of course. but hopefully we can all continue to offer support , advice and friendship during the more happy times

Good suggestion about the tummy massage - need to make sure you massage in a clockwise direction. It does get better!

becklespeckle · 18/07/2008 00:46

Newbishad, did a baby massage course recently and another stroke good for moving wind along is one called I Love You. You stroke 2 fingers down the left hand side of baby's tummy (I), then stroke 2 fingers along the top of baby's tummy, starting from the right and then take them down the left hand side (upside down L) and finally starting at the bottom right hand side of baby's tummy stroke 2 fingers up, over and down the left hand side (upside down U). Hope thats clear(ish).

Daisy, glad Emily is okay! I suspect I will have a little tyke on my hands too as Evie gets older, she is already getting adept at getting things she shouldn't have and she's not even crawling yet! I also found my 3rd pregnancy a lot tougher going than the previous 2, a few people I know with 3 also found the third more tiring.

BouncingTurtle · 18/07/2008 15:36

Cool! Hope it all goes well

Uki · 27/07/2008 12:52

Hi All

it's been ages, since i have been on mn at all. Just busy, ds1 had a big 3rd birthday, we are trying to buy a new house, not successful yet, and been doing a little work while LL naps. He will be ONE in 2 weeks, just gone too fast really.

Justjules - BIG Congratulations, such a bumpy ride, but they are just sooo precious to us now.

newbishad - Welcome Your story sounds amazing, another totally precious sucess. Congrat's. I hope you are getting some better sleep?I found ds1 needed loads of burping, that and the washing machine to put him to sleep. the midwives showed me how to burp with him sitting on lap and your hand suporting under his and a pat on the back, it worked really well.

daisy - WOW november your pg is going so fast, for me anyway

firstar- how r u? how is gorgeous Ty going? any new tricks?

newbishad · 27/07/2008 13:00

Uki.

Thanks for your kind wishes. Sometimes I can hardly believe we have Emily.

Heat and colic don't match. We continue to struggle. Your burping ideasa are really good. My mother showed me how to do this and it does work!

Lots of love,

NS XXXX

becklespeckle · 27/07/2008 22:44

Hi all, just checking in. Can't believe LL is nearly one Uki! Newbishad, sorry to hear Emily is still colicky, hopefully the heat will clear soon and she'll feel better. Evie has been off her food and milk in the heat and more sicky as well. Another tip for burping is to put her on your knees, support her under the arms but in a sitting position and rotate her body in gentle circles - was the best way to get wind out of Evie!

How goes it Jules?

Well Evie is 6.5 months now and in the last week has been getting up on her hands and knees and rocking, she has tried a couple of times to move her legs to crawl but tends to dig her toes into the carpet and end up on her face instead! I'll have my hands full once she's crawling though, she is already an expert at getting to the TV stand just by rolling!

Big hello to everyone else! Hope little ones (and bump in Daisy's case) are all doing well xxx

Hi Firststar - another one turns one!
How time flies, it mskes you really appreciate why you should treasure each moment with your little ones, they don't stay little for long!
I had a 10.5 mo around the house, and it really brought to my attention how much baby proofing I need to do around the house for when Daniel gets more mobile!

Uki - found anywhere nice yet? Is it a local move or are you going further afield from where you live?

Hi Daisy - we'll have to meet up again soon, I'm thinking I might come down to Leeds, as I hear there is a Bravissimo shop and I would love to try out their bras! I've only been to Leeds once, for a Hen weekend, to be honest the night out was crap but the shopping was fab!

Newishad - how's the colic, is it getting any better?

Beckle - Daniel has been doing similar (think I mentioned that on our PN thread!). And thanks for the comment about my pic, I do scrub up well when the occasion calls for it

Hey ladies I'm back after a little 6 month break thanks Beckle for reminding me about this thread I'd forgotten it was here how are you all?? and all the lovely babies?

BouncingTurtle · 03/08/2008 21:22

Hi MrsMacjr - long time no see

So lovely to hear that you and Xavier are doing well! You were so good at pep talks on our antenatal thread.
Your pics are lovely, what a beautiful little boy but you must upload some recent ones

DonDons · 05/08/2008 12:14

Lovely to see MrsMcJnr back - I was getting a bit worried about you there! You were sucha great support to me on the KNicker Checker thread. Glad to see Xavier is thriving. Hope you are well too.

Hello to all the other previous KnickerCheckers too - sorry to crash your thread!

newbishad · 05/08/2008 14:43

Hi all,

Thanks for all the advice about colic.

The colic isn't that much better! We are now giving her one formula feed at night which helps. Curiously she seems better after the formula feed (anyone else found this?). We have considered going over to bottle feeding but for the momment I am perservering with breast!

Hi to Mrs. Macjr and DonDons.

Lots of love,

Hope Ty had a fab birthday on Friday Firsty! Time has flown, can't believe how fast either! They do get ever so speedy at rolling don't they?! Evie is now trying very hard to crawl although she can't seem to co-ordinate her arms and legs in the right order - so funny to watch! She is now very fast at dragging herself commando style around the room though, today she even managed to get down the step into the conservatory!

Hi MrsMc, welcome back! How is life with little Xavier? Did you move to Spain yet? Hope you are well!

Hi DonDons too, how goes it?

Newbishad, glad the formula is helping Emily a little, colic is horrible. Have you tried Actimel? It definitely worked for me, I used to find that if I forgot to drink it or drank it late Evie would be unsettled that evening.

DonDons · 07/08/2008 10:13

Hi Beckle! Going really well thanks! Amelie is clapping on weight like nobody's business and is a right chatter box. She keeps me very busy and I can't believe that she is nearly 4 months old! Where does the time go?

DonDons · 07/08/2008 10:14

oh dear - over use of exclamation marks

BouncingTurtle · 07/08/2008 10:50

Hey everyone! Expecially to Dondons! Glad to hear your dd is healthy and happy

Newbishad - glad things are starting to improve, colic does improve when babies get older.

Uki · 07/08/2008 12:00

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY Ty, hope you had a nice day and ate your first bit of cake

Newbishad- how's the colic now? my LL is sleeping better now he is on formula, but he is nearly a year and i'm sure i wasn't making enough milk. now he wakes up for nappy changes, spoilt boy

MrsMc- HI there -often thought of you, hope you had a nice babymoon it is nice to just chill for a while after all the drama of conception, pg and birth.

Bouncing - Hi there, house progress is slow, we have made an offer on a house about and hour and a quarter closer to the city, we moved 2 and half hours away, and now want to be a bit closer.it is a lovely house but i'm not sure i want to pay through the roof IYKWIM

I have also had some big news on the miscarriage front. we do want another baby, so I have had a lot of tests and they have found i have a chromosonal abnormality, was a big shock but has sunk in but if i have IVF with testing I will be 95% guarranted to not have a m/c, Science eh?. it has taken away MY fear, but of course it's not an easy road.

DonDons · 07/08/2008 12:55

Thanks Bouncing - good to hear from you again

DonDons · 07/08/2008 12:56

Good news Uki - best of luck

BouncingTurtle · 07/08/2008 16:57

That is good news Uki, hope the IVF works for you
I guess this piece of info about the chromosomal abnormality must make your babies feel all the more precious!
