Diege · 28/04/2006 22:22

Hello everyone!! Thanks for your good wishes SmileWork was fine, if a little dull (didn't know what to do with myself on train journey in!). Flex meeting OK, and think we will work something out (me going to 4 day, with extra poss of 'research day' at home) though will mean dropping down to 0.8. Quite happy about this though, so fingers crossed!Libby a lot happier at nursery too - gave me a massive beam, and really chatty on way home Smile
GG: nice present!! DH got me one last year, and I'm never off it! Do any of you remember me having to go to library to post?? Seems a distant memory now! GrinEnjoy it GG!
BROWNIE: T sounds so settled Smile; HOW proud must you be of him Smile. Enjoy your night out tommorrow!!Hi everyone else!! Speak properly tommrrow!

Rodeo · 29/04/2006 11:25

Morning!

Another nice day up here, hoping it stay's for the holiday weekend!

Diege, glad you had a ok day, libs sounds like she settled in well :)

Was at work last night too and we were rushed off our feet, although my best workmate was back from Australia so it was lovely to have her back, made the night go so much quicker :) We made quite a bit in tips too which is always a bonus!

Got my bottles this morning, and they look really cool, they've got kind of 2 teats, one thinner firmer one in the middle covered by a really soft wide silicone outer. The milk pools in the outer reservoir and then squeezes out really easily into baby's mouth, think I'll try and get some EBM out for a try later but I've not done it for ages and probably only get an ounce off!

Right, better get dressed, ds has got an open day at his playgroup today so we can talk to his keyworker and look at his work and he's really excited :)

Have a good night out Brownie!

Hi everyone! Hope you have a good day at the Open day RODEO, and can also squeeze out an ounce or two Grin. Did you decide on a brand of formula? Just a thought, but the follow-on milk are supposed to be more palatable (6 months plus?), might be worth a try? Must be nice working in such a 'people' environment; quite isolating at my work, but am moving to a new office which I'm pleased about. The people in the corridor seem friendlier than the last lot too. Am pleased that I will have more time with dds - esp. as it means I can pick and drop dd1 up from school 2 days a week now Smile.
Am going round to prospective childminder's house this afternoon, so Open day for me too Grin.
Hope everyone is well, and enjoying the bank holiday Smile
Speak later,
Diege Smile

yorkshirepuddling · 29/04/2006 14:32

Wow - There is no way that I can catch up so i'm not even gonna bother - Sorry I have been away for so long but we decided to make our own stationary for the wedding and I have spent every evening for the last few weeks doing that so no mumsnet. I hope everyone enjoyed the meeting in London. Holly has also found her feet and likes it when she hasn't got hre nappy on as she can get them in her mouth then - she does tend to try this when on the changing table though and rolls over onto her side, almost falling off. We managed to get her into a swimming class this morning - I can't swim so not confident enough to hold her in the class so had to be saturday mornings - completely unphazed by it all especially when having water poured over her head- just looked at the instructor, smiled and blew the water out of her mouth and nose.

Bob/karma the hospital food when I had Holly mad me laugh I ordered a cheese and egg platter and when it came it was half a boiled egg and a small pot of cheese - that was supposedly a meal.

We have just started weaning although Holly is only 5 months on the advise of the health visitor - we tried the baby rice but Holly hated it so much that she refused to open her mouth any more - so I tried apple - she she seemed ok with until daddy came home and we showed him she went into complete meltdown. Shes definately a daddys girl.

Sorry for the self obsessed post. I'll try to catch up on the last few posts.

Hope you are all well

yorkshirepuddling · 29/04/2006 14:57

Chacha - try the growbags - we got some whe Holly was born and only jsut started using them but she pulls on sheets and loosens then and I was scared they would go over her head and her arms and legs are everywhere - we don't have any problems and would be pretty hard to get legs stuck plus they are lovely nd snuggly and Holly seems to sleep better in them although still not got back to through the night yet.

twinkle1 · 29/04/2006 16:04

novadandypowder · 29/04/2006 16:50

welcome back Yorkshire Grin

We've booked our holiday - woo hoo!!! Going to Crete on 29th May for 10 days. Saw \link{http://www.tinytotsaway.com/\this website} that delivers all your baby stuff direct to the hotel so no need to fill our suitcase with nappies and bottles.

Hope you're all enjoying the weekend, we made the mistake of going out clubbing last night and now we're both too knackered!

GarfieldsGirl · 29/04/2006 19:49

Just got back from dinner with dp, we were only out an hour, but it was nice to just have that little time out child free. Got back to find both boys on their own in the front room, Sean in his rubber ring thing (which he can wriggle out of) with a rusk in his mouth Shock. Not quite sure where mil was.

Brownie - have a good night ut tonight. Smile

GarfieldsGirl · 29/04/2006 20:37

Has anyone seen this?

For all you \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1375&threadid=168723&stamp=060429191206\deal or no deal} addicts

BEKsmum · 29/04/2006 21:22

Evening girls

Really should be cracking on in preparetion for tomorrow, but have run out of steam.

GG love the Deal or No Deal game, could waste hours on there. Not impressed so far though as have one 50p and 10p - sounds about right!!!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and that Diege your first day back wasn't too bad.

Will catch up with you all on Monday once the Naming Ceremony is over and the in-laws have gone home, keep your fingers crossed for good weather for me girls.

Take care for now Beks

Diege · 29/04/2006 22:43

Hi everyone Smile. Just watched a v. scary dvd (The Descent); would highly recommend it, though not exactly what you would call a feel good movie!! Good luck for tommorrow BEKS, I'm sure it will be a lovely day for you, so enjoy yourself and remember, lots of deep breathing and a nice bottle of wine planned for when they're all tucked up in bed!
HI GG and Yorkie; Holly sounds a natural in the pool; I'm like you with swimming, so well done for even getting near a pool Grin. GG Shock at MIL!!!Did you get an explanation??? NOVA: wow, Crete, it will be great.make the most of it with one baby though, as it will never seem like a holiday again when you have two! GrinThe service you mentioned sounds great; more room for your stuff too! TWINKLE: LOL at Josh's interrupting stratgey; it really does seem like he has a sixth sense when food is around Grin; I like the way he leaves it until the fork is right up to your mouth, tase buds tingling!. BTW, RODEO, L&Smum, Yorkie??, me and Twinkle need the meadow hall again, and have been tentatively thinking of another sheffield meet-up?? I could have a 'working from home' day IYSWIM!!!
Right, must get washing dried, or will have to wash it again Blush.
Take care everyone!
Diege Smile

novadandypowder · 30/04/2006 10:13

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh GG now I'm never going to be off the computer Grin

twinkle1 · 30/04/2006 17:12

well i am oficially going mad!!!!!Am seriously thinking of having number 4 ,my hormones must be up the chuff!!!!
Im after opinions???? am i mad??? would anyone else consider 4???? if i do go for it i will do it sooner rather than later as time is on the march for me im 32!!!!!!!! and josh would have someone close to his age to play with...
Diege have a think about dates for meadow hall:)
twinkle & josh

Diege · 30/04/2006 20:13

TWINKLE!!!!Oh go for it I say SmileI think we will go for 4, though not till Libby is in school most probably, though I am 36 next month!! 32 is nothing!!! Oh how exciting; what brought on the thought? And we were only talking about it last week... Grin...hmm, strangely envious...Seriously though, if it's in your mind now, even just a germ of an idea, and you're only 32, then there's no way you will hold out till menopause!!!Grin. As you say, a little playmate for Josh would be brill...and look at what a great mum you are Smile.
Yep, meadow hall here we come Smile. Fridays are best for me, though will have to make sure I have my moby on me in case work calls!!Blush. RODEO, L&SMUM, any dates you can/cannot do in the next few weeks say?
Well, not much going here (in fact T'S post is highlight of day Grin). Children's party (packed full play barn due to rain - hell's hell), and whinginess like you wouldn't beleive from dds. Hoping for a more relaxed one tommorrow Smile. Oh, before I forget, Libby's excema is horrendous now (she's scratching till it bleeds Sad. Have posted on health thread, but just wondering if 'the family' Grin have any useful tips to keep us going till DRs next week?
Diege Smile

novadandypowder · 30/04/2006 20:54

Diege - I swear by baby balm from Neals Yard, I use it on Nats bum diddly and the excema on my hands and it clears it up really quickly. You can buy it online £6 a jar.

Twinkle - how exciting! Agree 32 = plenty more baby making years. I think I'd like 3 or 4, but it's easy for me to say that when I've only got the one. Come back to me in a few years (lol!).

DH out at work again. Been gorging myself on the toblerone he bought back from switzerland.

Very excited about the holiday, I was sick on the last two that we went on, so hope that the TTC didn't work this month or it might happen again.

Diege · 30/04/2006 21:15

Thanks for the tip NOVA Smile. Have just ordered some on-line (any excuse to shop!!). I also get excema on the back of my hands, and at front of wrists, so may work for me too Smile. I'm also in post-choc sickness/guilt (Lindt chocolate bunny on top of fridge that has been calling my name since Easter...poor dds!!!Grin; their dentist will thank me!!).
Hope ceremony went well BEKS!! Was thinking of you today, and hoping you had better weather than here!!

twinkle1 · 30/04/2006 21:54

thanks for all the pos vibes about No. 4:)
diege go to the chemist and buy some diprobase (which ia a emollient ) and some eumovate (use it sparingly) It works really well we get it off the dr for all 3 of us !!!!! the more often u use the diprobase the better:) it is really soothing, poor libby:(
Well hormones are still raging !!! i must be flipping nuts!!!!:0
twinkle

Diege · 30/04/2006 22:08

Thanks Twinkle! Yes, will do - have heard about diprobase before, but never tried Smile. Her poor chest is the worst, red raw and really scabby. Seemed to appear over a few days, and got a lot worse after using Johnsons baby bath stuff Blush. It's also really 'wet' behind knees Sad.
Hopefully, will get it sorted!
Right, off for bath and generous application of self-tan I think!
Night all!
Diege x
PS: will be waiting for an announcement Twinkle! Wink.

Rodeo · 30/04/2006 22:30

Evening!

Diege - Poor Little Libs :( I didn't know she suffered with excema, hope the baby balm sorts it out. Me and dp have just attacked an easter egg while watching 24 and he's feeling sick now! Not me though, I've got a stomach like an old boot, think I'd be able to lick a raw chicken and not get ill Grin not gonna try it though. Just watching the v.addictive Miami Ink - dp is in love with Kat Von D!

Meadowhall sounds great Twinkle & Diege, Friday's fine with me, L&Smum, if I maybe got myself up to Kilburn after the school drop off I could get a lift with you??!! Only Fri I can't do is the 26th May (I'll be in Espana!!) and maybe half term week would be tricky. So either 12th/19th May or June? Twinkle, 4 sounds great! If you're both up for it then def. go for it!

Right off to bed after MI, we're off to the seaside (Filey) tomorrow! Although I think it's going to rain! Fingers crossed for ok weather!

Hope you all have a nice BH Monday :) x

LaylaandSethsmum · 30/04/2006 22:31

Evening all!!Smile
Twinkle, no.4 i don't think you're mad at all i'd love 4 kids ( don't think DH agrees thoughGrin)Good luck!

Diege have you tried Aveeno cream? Its oatmeal based and really good for eczema type conditions. you can buy it over the counter but can be quite expensive but obviously GP can prescribe it for free!!

Another meet in meadow hall would be fab! Don't think i've got much planned in the weeks ahead, don't know how far ahead you're thinking but I go away on 22nd June for 2 weeks but hopefully we'll meet before then!

I think Seths teething he's been really off it the last couple of days hardly eaten anything today, crying a lot and wanting to be held all the time Sad I've given him calpol but I remember in the dim and distant past about some homeopathic granules?!? can't remeber what they are called anyone any ideas? Or any tips on how to help him! I don't remeber Layla being so bad with her teeth at all.

Off to bed as i'm sure i'm going to have a disturbed night! xxx

LaylaandSethsmum · 30/04/2006 22:35

Of course you can get a lift with me Smile! Would DP bring you up to mine do you think?

Fridays are ok with me too. Off the top of my head can't think of any that I can't do as long as I can get Layla sorted.

LaylaandSethsmum · 30/04/2006 22:39

Diege some info on \link{http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100004785.html\Aveeno cream}

Rodeo · 30/04/2006 22:45

L&S, that'd be brill, dp'd be fine to take me, he has a class from 8-9 so I could prob get to yours for 10? :) Are they the Nelsons teething powders? Think someone used them not long ago - was it Nova's Natalie? Hope he gets better soon. Was thinking earlier about that old lady in M&S comparing our babies, cheeky woman! 'Oooh isn't she small' Grin Cafe Nero was a very good find too!

OP posts:
Rodeo · 30/04/2006 22:49

Ooh that cream does looks good, I bet it would work on my itchy shins! Took the children swimming today and they're really itchy now and body lotions don't quite work. Jess loved the pool, we were in for ages, for so long she started to turn blue Blush time to get out!

Right really must go upstairs, J has been crying for the past few mins, better check she's not got legs stuck a la Chacha's Z! Night x

OP posts:
yorkshirepuddling · 30/04/2006 23:12

Just a quick visit before bed but I should be able to make a visit to Meadowhall after all I practically live there on the rainy days at the moment as Holly doesn't like being in the house all day and likes the sparkles in the Jewellers (like Mummy) and its only 15 minutes drive from me. I go back to work at end of May though and although I only work around the corner don't think I could skive for that one.

I was going to say nelsons powders as I've heard they are good - I think they sell them in Boots

Night all - hope you are all enjoying the bank holiday.
