Welcome back Rodeo - Tell us more about your holiday, it sounds wonderful. Show off all you like, not everyday you get such a nice break :)

Hi Diege, if I'm peckish in the morning I will eat breakfast, fact is, I'm usually not. Have something with the little one around 12ish though.

Beks - You haven't been online in a while, everything okay? How are the boys? Are your folks around? Can't remember if it was you or Enthusia but whose parents live in Andulucia? We are thinking of going this summer. I've never been to Islamic Spain but it looks gorgeous esp Al Hambra.

BoB - WoW! crawling already, bless him. That's lovely and his photos are really sweet - real little charmer! :)

That's it for me tonight, see you all later x

ChaCha · 30/05/2006 22:23

X posts Diege - well not exactly crossed, just me sitting here chatting with open window - of the PC variety that is.
Hello anyway x

Diege · 30/05/2006 22:28

LOL CHACHA! Have this picture of you now in study with open window, and little blue bird perched on tree outside Grin.
Make sure you have brekkie my girl!!! Will help stabilise your metabalism, even if you just have a yog and fruit!!

Diege · 30/05/2006 22:42

Ooh Ripple, mmmm Grin. Right, must sleeeeppppp!!!!!!!

BEKsmum · 30/05/2006 23:11

Hi girls,

Sorry for the quick post earlier but Thomas is in scream mode at present and has only just gone to sleep - little bugger!

GG sorry to hear things have been so rough for you lately, but glad to hear that you have managed to have a good heart to heart with your dp it must be really difficult for you to maintain the right balance of sympathy and patience, becasue personally if my dh came in at that time he'd lose various parts of his anatomy, the first being his head off his shoulders, so well done to you for handling it all so calmly.

Rodeo glad you had a good weekend, sounds lovely, very jealous.

Nova hope you are enjoying the luxury of your hotel to the max and having a great holiday.

Chacha, I've e-mailed Tex and Londoner and Tex is definitely up for the 20th, so that's 4 of us at least!

Things here have been a bit hectic, my mum & dad have been monopolising my time, dh has had a week off so I've been working him like a slave and Thomas has been a bit of a nightmare with only one 20 minute sleep each day which leaves me little or no time for MNing (boo) Smile.

Chacha they are in Andaluscia and it's lovely, unfortunately quite a bit more built up than it used to be but still a nice place to holiday. I keep meaning to get up to Granada too but just never seem to get round to it which is bad really considering it is only a couple of hours away from my parents home.

Things could be getting a bit busier for me too as I have an interview this week for an IT recruitment company for an evening resourcer, it's only 3.5 hours per night Monday to Thursday so shouldn't kill me - hopefully!

Got both boys weighed today, Ben was 3st 2lb and Thomas was 21lbs 14oz so both on the 91st centile, have got Thomas' 7-9 month check in a week or so but can't forsee any problems other than the sleep issue, which bothers me more than it bothers him Grin

Right sorry for the mammoth post, this is what happens when you don't post for a while Grin Got to go as dh wants his pc back, hopefully get back to posting more once half term is up, hope you are all surviving it too. Beks

Rodeo · 31/05/2006 00:24

OK seeing as I've been given permission to show off I will.......
Stayed with my friend and her family in Santo Domingo, Madrid. They moved when RollsRoyce posted her dh out there (something to do with aircraft engines), the house has got 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a big pool, huge garden, would cost about 1.5 million Euros to buy. RollsRoyce pay their rent, the boys schooling (they go to International College Spain), most of their bills, etc. They are obviously loving Spanish life, something tells me they won't be coming back, we've booked same time next year!!
They don't know the Beckhams but a few of their friends kids go to Runymead (Brooklyn's school), and say Victoria is v. nice if a bit dim, and Beckham is gorgeous in the flesh apparently - while waiting for the end of school, Sue's friend was stood behind Becks salivating over the sight of a bit of flesh and boxers peeping out of his jeans. And they watched Victoria have a slanging match with an older Spanish actress who's child goes to Runymead and who was making passes at David - think that was in Heat actually?......think that's it.......:)
Diege, just seen that it was your birthday on Saturday! You kept that quiet! Hope you had a lovely day :)
Beks, has Thomas always had difficulty getting to sleep at night? Have you thought about trying cranial therapy at all? Just a fleeting thought, but might help......if it happens a lot it might be something more than just a crabby baby? Anyway just a thought :)
Righ tmust get to bed x x x

OP posts:
Rodeo · 31/05/2006 00:50

Bloody hell, go away for the weekend and miss the best celeb gossip in the world ever!! Shiloh Nouvell - what do you think to that then? Have to say I have a disliking for the pair of them, but still love to hear the goss Grin
Diege, a manifold's a bit from the underneath of the car, erm, something near the exhaust?!

OP posts:
Diege · 31/05/2006 08:39

Nooo, has Gwen had her's then??? Agree RODEO, don't feel anything for Brangelina, but like the goss all the same Grin. Hey good goss on Posh front. You can be our overseas correspondent!
Well, shopping will have to go on hold for the time being (we're facing wage cuts due to strike action in HE at the mo', you may be aware from the news? - I'm in the union and partaking in the action). So had final splurge last night - pout cosmetics (using discount code from Heat Grin); Haivainas (sp?) flip flops for hols; some mother earth carrier off mumsnet - I know!!!so not me Grin; what else, what else...oh yes Blush some final bits off e-Bay.
There, feel cleansed now Grin.
Well, shattering night after Scarlett getting me up at 2 for a 'snuggy', then waking L with then cried on and off for 3 hours Sad. Will get through the day with the 3 of them!!
Looking forward to final episode of the Line of Beauty tonight Smile; has been a great series.
Gosh and what a bitch that Imogen is!!!!!

novadandypowder · 31/05/2006 13:20

ok you know you're addicted when you log on on holiday! In my defense I'm looking at the T-Mobile site as my phone isn't working here...no thats not really washing is it...Blush

so far holiday is fab, Nat was great on the plane, we've been upgraded to a better room, the food is delish and the sun doesn't stop shining. Nat has had a few settling in issues, but on the whole I think it's ok.

Just waiting for DH to get back from his massage so I can go for mine Grin

babyonboard · 31/05/2006 13:23

twinkle1 · 31/05/2006 17:20

Diege how are the girls feeling ?????:)
Twinkle

Diege · 31/05/2006 17:42

Hi TWINKLE! They are recovering well thnaks, though L is still v.grissly and scratching herself to death Sad. Should be back innursery/school soon - thank god!!!

Rodeo · 31/05/2006 19:02

Oh poor itchy Libs, Jess was in semi-close proximity to a baby with chicken pox last Sunday so if she gets it it'll be this weekend!

Nova, ooh sounds lovely :) Have a great time - we would love holiday updates, so that can be you're excuse if you feel the need to log on again!

Oh have a question....Went swimming today, Bella learnt to swim without armbands at the weekend but with a mask and snorkel. She brought the mask only but she didn't use it and left them at the side of the pool. When she collected them on the way out trailing behind dp (I was already out getting Jess dried off) a lifeguard told her that masks weren't allowed. She didn't tell us til we were in the car and now I've come home and thought about it I want to know why, or if she's got it wrong. Also a bit Angry that they approached her not us and it left her feeling uncomfortable. Might ring the baths tomorrow.......Sorry that's a bit long! Think I'll copy and post it in another section see if anyone can shed some light on it!

OP posts:
Diege · 31/05/2006 19:18

Hi RODEO! Would def.ring baths tommorrow; a bit off that they approached her and not you or dp.
'Scratchy' as they've cristened her should be back at nursery tommorrow, as all her spots have scabbed up (sorry if you're having your tea Grin.
Well, had 'run in' with local 'posse' down the park today. They nearly knocked Scarlett over on their bikes, and then basically monopolised the slides etc so no-one else could use them (they are 11 ish and the park is for 6 and unders). I ended up shouting at them until they skulked off, but the looks I got off the others parents!!! They (the parents) had gradually retreated to the few swings that the older kids hadn't monopolised, and were just trying to ignore it, but I couldn't. Just thought it was so stupid that no-one else could use the things, and made my blood boil!!! Well, rant over Grin. Do you think I overreacted??? (I was tired...) But the thought of dds not being able to go on the slides etc when they had been looking forward to it all day really upset me.
Well, time to tidy up and have some tea Smile

Rodeo · 31/05/2006 20:06

Grin Diege! No , I don't think you were over reacting, I'd have done the same! Love being bossy, I think I might join the police force - maybe we should join together after you pay cut?? We'll both have pass our driving tests first (well, I'll need to start learning first!)

Oh thought I'd give you all a tadpole update....... they hatched into tadpoles about (god when was it??!) 6 weeks ago, they got bigger we fed them lettuce and fishfood.....but that's it!! No legs or anything! They've been on the kitchen worktop all this time BUT today I got fed up of them and dp poured them into an unused, dirty, leafy, small paddling pool at the bottom of the garden! So we'll see how well they do out there, the poor stunted taddies!!

Think we're having a midweek takeaway curry tonight, how naughty! And I'm supposed to be going on a joint diet with my sis, we both want to loose a stone so not a great tea, ah well, I'll start after the weekend :)

OP posts:
Rodeo · 31/05/2006 20:10

Oh and a baby update!

Jess is up on her hands and knees!! Grin Not quite catching up with the boys (O & S!) but it's a start!

OP posts:
beartime · 31/05/2006 20:24

Hi everyone - just wanted to let you know that I probably won't be coming on much anymore cos I don'tlike all the swearing. I'm not trying to make you feel bad, just thought I should be honest, and I do love you all Grin, but when swear words start echoing in my head I think its getting a bit much Smile so i just went and located some christian mums chat sites to go on, tho' I don't know if any have a postnatal group Sad so I may come on here occasionally to get some updates of where your babies are at!

Oh and just thought I should let you know that i asked Dh about ordering some of those Johnny socks for a friend who had a baby boy and he said to split them up, two for them, two for another friend with a boy, and.... two for us - yippeee! So I fell for the socks too Grin

Rodeo · 31/05/2006 20:37

Bear - Oh dear, think I'm the main swearing offender, sorry you feel need to leave, keep us informed with Celeb's progress :)

OP posts:
ChaCha · 31/05/2006 20:57

Evening all,

Bear - I'm sorry you feel the need to leave. There were a few posts recently that could have been classed as containing offensive language but on a note of faith, I strongly believe that we must show compassion to all of God's creation. We all have our own way of dealing with life's tests and it could be that your kind words, small deeds etc. could help that person find their way. I don't mean to come across as being harsh but we live in a society where the bigger test is the one of perceverence, patience and mercy.
For what it's worth, it was a once off from someone who genuinely needed to get something off her chest and was her way of having a rant.
If i've stepped out of line here or have offended anyone, I'll apologise and move on. Just the way I feel.

Nova!!! You're supposed to be on holiday LOL :o Sounds great, wish I was there, enjoy every minute, take lots of pics and have fun!

Diege - You were right to stand up to the 'posse'. I had a Little Britain scenario in my mind as I read your post, you know, the one where he leaps out his wheelchair and batters the boys in the park?

Rodeo - LOL Bossy Boots!! Yes, agree, call the pool.

Off to London tomorrow at 7am, Yikes!!!! We have to do passports and have managed to borrow friend's car seat before we undertake the new car seat faff. Thought getting a travel system meant easy!! Humph.

Talk soon x

twinkle1 · 31/05/2006 21:19

Diege!!!
Go girl!!!:):):)You did right, i would do the same!!!! Must admit to having a giggle at the thought of you telling them off :) It must be the teacher in you :) Glad to hear the girls are on the mend:)
Bear keep in touch you will be missed:):)
By heck my son can shout he is like a mini fog horn!!! dont know where he gets it from!!????:)
twinkle & Josh

browniechick · 31/05/2006 21:52

Ooh Blush Chacha & Bear - hope it's not me that has offended with my language? (does bugger count? perhpas it might when combined to make buggery arse?) Have to make sure I don't swear, particularly with the Brownies, so only use mild words generally? Sorry if these are not considered mild & have offended Sad

Diege, I would probably have said something too - although sometimes these youngsters can be particularly vicious in this day & age! (ooh I sound old!) So you have to be careful, but if they looked harmless, then I would have said something.

Rodeo - glad you had a good holiday Envy - but I am going to Wales in August!! Grin (think I might have mentioned that a few times!!!!!!)

Nova - what are you like!? Just can't keep away!!! Wink

Have worked out why T won't eat his weetabix - he prefers it warm! So simple Smile. He has now decided that he doesn't really like the trio of root veg (potato, carrot & parsnip) that I made - although, he liked it before! Perhaps he is now thinking that he has far more tasty treats, and this is a bit bland & boring!? Am thinking of trying it with cheese in it to see if that tempts him!?

Oh, Thomas slept through for me last night!!!! Yey for Mummy! He didn't wake at all, so will see what happens tonight. Eventually he will break the habit and keep going through the night, I guess! (or is that I hope!!!Grin)

No signs of these blessed teeth yet! Think this has to be the slowest teething ever! They have been on their way for over 3 months now! He has started to bend himself over and chew on the edge of the highchair, so am wondering if he is trying to push them through? Who knows! They'll appear in their own time I guess.

Brownie & Thomas

browniechick · 31/05/2006 21:54

Ah, actually just thought - I might have used a few stronger words when referring to my Mum's boss & her bullying/harassment situation at work? If this is the offending post - then Blush sorry - fairly out of character, although I make no apologies for what I actually said, but apologise if it offended anyone. I still don't like him much!

B

BEKsmum · 31/05/2006 22:05

Evening girls

Nova, love it, you really are hooked like the rest ofus. Glad to hear you are having a great holiday, bring the sunshine back in your suitacase will you Smile

Bear sorry you are leaving, look after yourself and Caleb.

Chacha have a good day tomorrow, hope you don't have to cue too long at the passport office.

Rodeo, well done Jess, what a clever girl. Your w/end away sounds fab and isn't it great when you've got friends like that Smile
Thanks for the cranial therapy suggestion, he really is a nightmare at the moment and not himself at all but it's nothing specific. If i have a bad night with him again tonight I'm going to take hm to the quacks tomorrow for an MOT. He is definitely in some form of pain though as he has that shallow breath holding type breathing, just wish he could point to what hurts.

Diege welll done you for telling the posse off, they drive me mad but I've never got the guts to challenge them. Don't know when I got frightened of teenagers - sad really.

Not going for the interview tomorrow now after a row with dh, long boring story but he wants me to work, I only want to work evenings, but he thinks it's ok for me to work until midnight / 2am and then deal with the kids all day - I think not! Thought I had it sorted with this job now he can wait till I'm ready to go back to work. That's me officially throwing my teddy out of the pram Grin

Karma we will get this call sorted out one night this week.

Hope everyone is well Beks
