Afternoon!! Well, Libby seemd fine at nursery; she cried for a bit, but took some of her bottle, and slept in the cot, so pleased Smile. She's shattered now as had to wake her mid-'big sleep' to go home!! Starting to look forward to tommorrow now, though am glad we have the long weekend Grin.
Well, DH has just brought me over a delish omlette Smile yum!!
Oh, before I forget, does anyone know where I can buy a pinstripe cotton wilkinet from? Have found the plain ones on websites, but no pinstripes??
Speak later!
Diege Smile

BEKsmum · 27/04/2006 18:05

Hi ya

Diege good luck for tomorrow in case I don't get on again tonight. Glad Libby was ok at the nursery today.

Chacha, posted the carriers off to you this evening, you should get them tomorrow, don't worry about paying the postage, you can pay it on the way back! Smile

L&SMum what a gorgeous photo, he is adorable and looks full of mischief.

Karma glad to hear dh is on the mend, would rather you had said he's shed some tears 'cos he was missing you though rather than the other way round Grin. This week is fast passing me by so if I don't get a chance to call you this week we'll definitely catch up next if you're not too busy playing Florence Nightingale!!! Smile

BOB lol ready for Sunday you must be joking Grin still it will all come together in the end - it always does.

Had a bit of a scare with Ben this week as he keeps having nose bleeds again, we went though this awhile ago and they seem to coincide with growth spurts. Took him to the drs today and they quarterised his nose, by sticking a long match like stick up his nose and burning the blood vessels that were too close to the surface. He was such a star and only cried a little bit but the dr looked at him like he was a big baby - obviously doesn't hva kids of her own grrr. Still Ben was happy he got a Lego Racer out ofthe ordeal!!!

Right off to masacre dinner, speak to you all soon. Beks

novadandypowder · 27/04/2006 19:14

My dentist was the same yesterday BEKs - Natalie started to cry while he was rebuilding my tooth and he began to panic, he called in the receptionist but that didn't work, so he sped through my tooth work then legged it out of the surgery to 'wait for me in reception'!

ChaCha · 27/04/2006 19:20

Not much catching up to do on here. Must be the good weather, returns to work & busier schedules.

Beks - Awww..thanks so much, you're a star. Will talk to you tomorrow :) Glad Ben is okay now. Forgot to tell you that DH saw the pic of you holding T and thought he was just gorgeous! It really is a beautiful pic.

Diege - Wishing you well for tomorrow.

Rodeo - I will be censoring your posts from now on. 10p per beep word payable to my account :)
(Just the teacher coming out)

Nova - Thanks for offer too but will be fine now. Really didn't want to buy anything new after paying 40quid for a sling that has never been used. My maternity pay is well and truly over!
Enjoy being a 'Notting Hill' mummy Wink I bet it has its perks.

Couch potato night x

GarfieldsGirl · 27/04/2006 20:08

Hi everyone, how you all doing?

I'm pretty chirpy today, Sean slept from 9pm til 4.30am, so I got over 7 hours for the 1st time in 6 months, but couldn't get back to sleep at 5 after he'd fed, obviously my body felt it had had enough! Hopefully not a one off and its teh start of lots of nice sleeps. Grin

Diege - Glad Libby's been better Smile, Good luck at work tomorrow.

Brownie - glad you've settled back into work well, sounds like you work with a good bunch of people.

ChaCha - how are you feeling now? The reason I don't like Sean on his back is just something I stuck with from when Owen was a baby. He used to bring up entire feeds, it would just fountain out of his nose/mouth/ears, so was worried about him choking if on his back, and its just stuck with me, although Seans never been like that.

BEKs - good to hear your friends out of hospital now, hope she's making a good recovery at home. Can you get naming ceremonies done pretty much anywhere? I've seen leaflets for it at the registry office, but didn't know about other venues.

Karma - Good to hear dp's on the mend, bet you'll be glad to get him home again. (but probably glad to get him out of your hair a few days later Wink)

Received a big Surestart pack in the post today, so gonna have a read through later tonight, thanks Golden (I think it was you) for suggesting i just go anyway. They've said priority is given to thoe living in 'deprived' areas, but most things are not full so I should have no rpobs going along.

ChaCha - did you get my e-mail?

browniechick · 27/04/2006 21:42

Evening All, Diege, glad Libs was ok at nursery - Good Luck for tomorrow.
Chacha - hope you are feeling better soon.
Well Thomas had a fab first day at nursery - he was a very happy boy, and had lots of naps and took all of his bottles. The staff loved him and said they wanted to keep him! They did make me panic this morning thoug - was training, so had my mobile with me on the front table on silent, and then noticed I'd had a missed call 30 minutes earlier from the nursery. Well I went into panic mode adn spent over 20 minutes trying to get through to them - they were permanently engaged! I was thinking all sorts. When I finally did get through, the senior nurse said, you know I thought you'd panic after I tried you! All they wanted was a password so that when my Mum picked him up, any seniors that hadn't met her, could make sure she was who she said she was (they are v hot on security which is good). Couldn't believe how much stress I went trhough!
Anyway, they said he was fine and was absolutely lovely and very well behaved (that's my boy!!!!! Grin).
Phoned once more at lunch time just to check once more - and again he was fine!)
I didn't get home till 5:30 - and he was at home with Grandma and his Daddy, and had demolished all his rice and was nearly all the way through his bottle!
Anyway, day 2 tomorrow! Am sure he'll be fine.

Sorry for bit of "me" post, am off to bed in a min, someone decided 6am was a good time to wake up!!!!
DH is currently ironing more labels into little clothes!!!! Bless

Speak tomorrow

beartime · 27/04/2006 22:01

Diege - I fed Caleb tonight when he woke crying at 9:30 Blush cos I just got GF's weaning guide that I ordered (phew - I feel so much more at ease about weaning now!) and she says if you don't wean them till 6 mths they can start to wake earlier in the morning out of hunger and wake at night. He's been waking at night but I've just done the reassurance thing and he's gone back to sleep. But he's also been waking earlier and not happy either - whereas he used to lie happily in his cot. So I thought maybe there's something in it and decided to give him a dreamfeed. So we'll see what happens in the morning...

Brownie - glad Thomas had a good day - I just read in the Babycentre update that now is a good time to leave them cos they are very sociable!

Rodeo · 27/04/2006 22:21

Evening :)

Good luck for tomorrow Diege, although I've probably missed you, your probably already in bed in prep! Glad your looking forward to tomorrow now, it'll be great :)

Nova, glad your not offended - bit paranoid now about my posts/tone of post after recent events! Great news about the nursery, when will she start? Oh and dp would give his right arm to spend the day with Harry Hill, he's a massive fan! I think he's v. funny too. LOVE You've Been Framed now he does it - a family fave in this household!

Took Jess to get weighed this afternoon and she's 14lb6oz - she's only put 1 ounce in 5 weeks Shock although she has been ill, and I've not been bfeeding her as much in the day and offering her formula (in every beaker/bottle known to mankind) which hasn't gone down well, so now I feel awful, like I've been starving her :( Well I'm not as sad as the little face to the left makes out, but I am a bit worried. Me and Bella are going away for a long weekend in 4 weeks so wanted to cut the bfeeds right down...argh! Oh but I have got good news - I got chosen to sample those bottles for Mothercare - maybe they'll do the trick!

Oh and a question for the bottle feeders - I'm not sure you're supposed to answer this but is there one which smells the least? I'm thinking maybe she doesn't like the taste, so wondered if you'd any opinions/preferences on brands??

Bit of a self absorbed post, sorry....

Brownie, Glad T had a great day! Bet it makes you feel so much happier leaving him when you know he's getting on fine :)

GG, What's in the SS pack? Hope you get a good sleep again tonight

Beks, have a brill day on Sunday, we'll be thinking of you :)

Karma, did you have a nice swim?

Chacha, are you better?

Hello Bob!

Shock just flicking through the music channels and there's a Snoop Dogg/50 cent video with loads of women with their boobs (well, implants) out! All dancing, boobs FULLY OUT only wearing knickers.......now somebody is riding a lionShock Bloody hell, I think I'm dreaming....

OP posts:
Rodeo · 27/04/2006 22:27

It's ok, it's ok, I'm just watching MTV - it's Johnny Knoxville riding a lion apparently and dp informs me it's 50 cent's P.I.M.P. video, so I'm not hallucinating.....

Hello Bear - you are such a GF militant Grin

OP posts:
Diege · 27/04/2006 22:57

Hi! Just me! Not in bed yet, too 'hyper' checking everything etc etc for work tommorrow!!! RODEO: lol at you and your porn videos Wink; wow, great at being picked for trial, v.exciting!BTW, on smell of formula, apparently Milupa (aptimil?) is the most palatable for BF babies Smile.
BEAR: right, hand me the baby rice!! I've been back on dream feed the last few days, though she fed well at 6 so will wait and see... Good luck!! Sounds like C is ready!!
Right, best get some sleep! Will do sneaky post tommorrow!
Diege x

beartime · 28/04/2006 05:23

Rodeo - I'm afraid I've been starving Caleb too after reading GF and realising he's prob waking in the night out of hunger and I didn't feed him Sad. And I wouldn't know cos I haven't had him weighed for 2 months Shock! But if you read those threads abt the new bfing growth chart it does look like bfed babies put on less after 4 mths than formula fed. Also - maybe you should try ebm in the bottle and then once she's used to taking it switch to formula? Not that I have any experience Grin

Am up the second time tonight feeding him feeling very guilty, I'm glad my HV appt is not for a week - I have a chance to feed him up a little bit!

beartime · 28/04/2006 05:24

Diege - LOL at baby rice! did the dreamfeed help with her early waking?

beartime · 28/04/2006 05:26

oh dear I'm in cold sweats - maybe Caleb has lost weight even Sad

tessasmum · 28/04/2006 07:19

bear - if he was that hungry in the middle of the night i doubt he would have gone back to sleep, i know ash wouldn't!

brownie - well done
diege - good luck

very wriggly baby on lap so will try and post later

GarfieldsGirl · 28/04/2006 07:41

aaarrrggghhhh get me out of here - MIL doing my nut!

Catch up with you all later. Have a good first day back Diege xx

novadandypowder · 28/04/2006 08:50

Well at 28wks Nat has finally put mummy out of her misery and rolled over!!!!

Back later when wriggly bum is napping Grin

ChaCha · 28/04/2006 09:30

Congratulations Nova - That's great isn't it? Well don Nat! :)

Rodeo - LOL @ your MTV video and well done on being chosen to test the bottles. No advice here I'm afraid, I'd been using goats milk to supplement b/f, doesn't exactly smell of roses!
On the b/f tip, it's nearly all over for me. Can't help feeling a little sad but glad I managed to mix feed for so long.

Had a big fright last night! DH came home late with movie, popcorn etc so we gave LO night time feed, put him down in cot and came through to watch movie. Just as we'd started film LO started screaming (a scream that I'm not familiar with) so went running through only to find that he'd GOTTEN HIMSELF STUCK WHEN DOING HIS 360 TURN AND WAS FACE DOWN ONE LEG STUCK BETWEEN BAR AND THE OTHER BETWEEN BARS AND MATTRESS!!!! Shock Shock
I picked him up, hugged him and burst into tears much to DH's amusement Angry
Kept him in bed with me last night. Thinking of putting bumpers round the bars, don't know what to do. He doesn't lie still anymore!

Time for brekkie x

novadandypowder · 28/04/2006 11:38

would a sleeping bag help Chacha? I know it won't stop him moving but it might stop limbs getting jammed?

babyonboard · 28/04/2006 12:22

Chacha - O does the same..one night he got both legs through the bars and started kicking me in the head!lol

Diege · 28/04/2006 12:30

Hi just a sneaky one from me!! Back at work, and have just managed to delete all my e-mails by accident Blush; oh, well, saves reading through all 1120 of them Grin. Libby seems to have settled well at nursery (just rang them), though she was very upset this morning when I left Sad.
CHACHA: agree, sleeping bag sounds the thing! Maybe check out the grobag web-site?
Best go, got to get ready for long-awaited flex.application meeting this afternoon!!
Speak later,
Diege Smile

ChaCha · 28/04/2006 13:26

Have we frightened everyone away? It's sooo quiet on here...

Thanks. Might just do that. Will have a look now.

Update: LO is lying here on sofabed sucking his toes!!! Smile Has also discovered that he can try and take his nappy off Shock

BoB - O and Z sound quite alike! What's age gap?

Rodeo · 28/04/2006 13:49

Afternoon :)

Just sneaking on too, I have got loads of housework to be getting on with but I keep getting distracted - and it's lovely weather, I really should be outside!

Poor little Z - I hate that 'OMG, I've hurt myself!' scream, a sleeping bag might do the trick, I gort mine from mothercare for 20 pounds each, although I came across a link page yesterday on MN were you can get 10% off Grobags, not sure how much they are to start with though, I'll find it for you if you can't find it yourself :)

Well done Natalie with your rolling over Grin

Diege, great to see you sneaking on at work - a bad habit I hope will continue Grin Naughty little Libs giving you a guilt trip earlier!

Gone back to feeding her in the day for a bit, just while she gets better and waiting for thouse bottles, although she is so happy for it, all smiley and contented - god more guilt!

Right, I can't hold the cleaqning off forever! Bye!

OP posts:
novadandypowder · 28/04/2006 14:41

Chacha - agree you can get sleeping bags cheaper than Grobag, might be worth looking at the kiddicare website as they do grobags/sleeping bags at a discounted rate? FWIW I would go for a summer tog rating (you can either get 1 tog or 2.5) as you can use them all year round by just altering what LO wears underneath.

browniechick · 28/04/2006 19:36

Hello All. Diege, hope Flex meeting went well and that your first day back wasn't too bad.
Nova - hooray for Nat at rolling over!! Smile
WEll, my first week back at work was ok - feels like I've never been away! Didn't ring nursery today to check on him - he had such a good day yesterday that I thought, I won't pester them, and I know they'll ring me if any problems....
I picked him up at around 4:20 and found he'd had another sooper day!!! He had done some painting!!! They had done hand and footprints with the babies! On big pieces of paper that say, my hand/footprint at five months (or whatever age)!!!! They are soo cute! Again he took all his bottles and he had lots of sleep during the day! He was zonked out by 6pm though, so he is obviously having lots of fun!
I have never seen a child wolf down his rice as quick as T did today - think he is ready for something other than rice now! He has been on rice once a day for 2 weeks now.
Well DH is out tonight (Badminton awards do) so he will be in very late and very drunk! Can't complain though as I am off out tomorrow night on a girls night out!
Hope all are well, oh and well done Rodeo on the bottle testing.
