Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DesperateHousewife21 · 09/06/2012 16:17

I'm going to keep this baby in comfy sleepsuits/ onesies etc for a few months this time! I put D in dungarees and jeans at about 6 weeks old poor thing.
This one is staying my baby for as long as poss!

It'll be nov so warm clothing will be a must, can't wait til she's around 1 and can wear dresses etc I LOVE girl clothes shopping!

memphis83 · 09/06/2012 17:48

Dh as a winter baby she can have lots of lovely girly cardi's and blankets! Have you any idea on names yet? My best friends having a baby and i have neen buyimg like crazy!

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/06/2012 18:39

Aww cardis!! I forgot about those. I've a started a list of girls names, I started it before we found out and I couldn't even think of one single boys name I liked so maybe that was a sign?!
There's a name I really like but is a bit unusual and dh is a bit hmm about it but we're going to get a list of lots and decide nearer the time or even once she's here.

But....the name will stay a secret til she's born I'm afraid, I'm not even divulging our 'maybe' names Wink

Chulita · 09/06/2012 18:40

I don't blame you on the clothes front, B is 13wks and still in babygros. I don't like dressing them too young and tbh I think dresses on little ones look daft. Once they're a bit bigger though, they're great! Every time S gets sopping wet and I have to change him, I wish I could stick one of L's summer dresses on him - so much easier!

viksam · 09/06/2012 20:27

dh now really, i respect ur decision not to tell anyone any names but surley that doesnt include us!!!!!!!!!!!!! does it?? I mean we wont tell anyone........really!! If F was a girl i would have liked to name her Robin Martha, i really like that name, my friend has just called her new baby Florrie, thats cute i think.
Oh chu that night really sucks a big one, how are u still going?? Its just madness how they can wake up so much in the night yet still wake up at shito'clock. What was the fever all about? Can you express into a bottle for dh to give or could u give the occasional bottle of formula to give u a rest, i didnt bf so i dont know if that suggestion is really out of order?? you need a rest though, we should do a spa weekend up in the midlands, im desperate to get away, how bad it that!!
mylife hows W?
memphis did you finish your kitchen?
Well we have the football on here so im gona have a tragically early saturday night bed time and i dont care that its still day light out side!!
I cant keep up with my rock and roll life style.....................

Chulita · 09/06/2012 20:53

B's on a growth spurt so I've got nothing left to express, DH wants me to express some so we can go out next week for our anniversary so I'll see if I have any luck this week. I've given him formula once when I had to take S to A&E and my neighbour had him for a bit but he had the worst wind for hours afterwards so I'm reluctant to do that again! I'm sooooo up for a spa weekend :) yeah! (just when he's feeding a bit less) We're thinking of going to Birmingham Sealife Centre in Nov for L's 4th birthday, I thought of asking if you'd fancy meeting up if you were up with your family (and memphis if she's within driving distance)

kkfairybrains · 09/06/2012 21:00

Just a quickie to say a big congrats to you DH!!! Lovely news. One of each is lovely Smile. Dying to hear your names!!

memphis83 · 09/06/2012 21:08

dh i agree with vik...come on spill! If L was a girl he was going to be Eden Freya but if I had a girl now I like Rae but dh isnt keen!
chul YES YES YES I love the sealife center! Come on vik!

Chulita · 09/06/2012 21:13

Sorted! Nov meet-up at Sealife then Grin

Chulita · 09/06/2012 21:14

If I'm ever stupid enough to try for a girl, we like the name Heidi Rose [vain] no idea if we had another boy!

Woodlands · 09/06/2012 22:50

Oooh lovely news DH! Hooray! If J had been a girl he would have been Zoe Violet. Love Eden Freya!

Yes where is Cake? Has she been on this thread at all?

We had planned to get J to nap in the pushchair today as we had a mortgage appointment at 2pm, but he was still awake (and tantrumming) so I ended up breastfeeding him through the whole appointment! Oops! Luckily the advisor was a mum of four and didn't bat an eyelid. He eventually fell asleep at the end and I stuck him in the pushchair, so we went to the pub. We woke him after 45 minutes and he went down to sleep at 8.15 tonight very easily - so we reckon limiting nap time is the key.

I really want to try leaving J for the night but all my family would be sad not to see him if I went to stay with anyone, and all my friends have small kids too so it would be odd to go without him. I think we should have a no kids meet up!

kkfairybrains · 10/06/2012 00:55

Freya is my next girls name if I ever have another girl! I love it. And no idea for a boy! Anything I like dp doesnt!
Cake Is on holidays woodlands! Lucky ducky Grin
Jealous of this potential meet up!

memphis83 · 10/06/2012 07:27

kk come over! Grin
woodlands a no kids meet sounds good!
chulita already thinking about baby 4??? My friend has just had a Heidi.

L slept all night and has just woke, dh thought it was 8 as his phone was still on France time! So i jumped out of bed but have come back up!

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/06/2012 07:36

Ummm I'll think about it Wink

Maybe I'll tell you the list nearer the time when it's full and you can pick your favs (or tell me they're all shit!)

Chulita · 10/06/2012 09:12

I often think about number 4 memphis but if we did it might have to be adoption, I'm pretty broken at the mo and not sure I could do it again myself!

WhatSheSaid · 10/06/2012 11:06

dhCongrats (bit late :) )

A fourth Chulita .

viksam · 10/06/2012 15:12

chu i dont want to meet you now coz i fear you may be slightly insane!!!!A fourth????I swear id do myself in if i had a third, you must be a very patient very tolerent very amazing moma.
Im soooooooooo pissed off, F is being an absolute mare, he awoke again last night at 11.20 and i didnt get back into be till 12.45. He was again just wide awake, and the only thing that settled him was to have him on me and move him up and down, god knows why or whats wrong with him, has anyone else had anything like this, he is very sicky even a long time after his bottle, Hes doing massive poos, hes retaining lots of wind and hes is struggling to settle to sleep and when he does its a fitful sleep, he just doesnt seem content, ever. Theres no sign of teeth but u never know whats going on underneath. I really dont know how to handle him or what to do. I have stopped weaning as i fear it may have been giving him a poorly tummy. He had a trip to the cranial osteopath on friday but he was cranky before that. He just doesnt want to do anything and cries all the time. I give up, i question my parenting ability, really i do!!!!

Trudyla · 10/06/2012 19:08

Sorry you're struggeling viks. That's the thing with babies, isn't it, you never know what's up and why they are upset. I hope you'll get a better night tonight. Oh, and I don't think you should question your abilities, sometimes there is just nothing you can do and you have to remember that it's just a phase.

Me and my big mouth about our great system and me sleeping through. Last night (DPs night on duty) F was so upset and cried so loud that he woke M, so I had to go settle her and she had a dirty nappy so I had to change her, too. I then got up with F at 6 cos it was Fathers Day and I wanted DP to have a lie in. Oh well.

Not much going on here other than having to make life changing decisions and not being able to think straight, so just the usual stuff Grin

Oh and can I just say, whatever you do, Try and not have two children that are teething at the same time. That is all. Wink We may have a breakthrough for F though, I could see some white bits, so he might get his first tooth over the next few days. Yay. And M is on her last ones, this one is either the last or second to last. Hurray.

Chulita · 10/06/2012 20:09

viks it's nothing to do with you, nothing! Babies are just babies and they are totally unpredictable. B's been really unsettled and feeding nonstop the last 2 days, he cries if he's not on me, sometimes cries if he is on me, won't sleep for longer than 20 mins and has generally been hard work!
I'm not mad re 4, I don't think we'll have any more, I just feel like I've got room for another in the family.

trudy yay for nearly done teething! S has 4 left to go I think, I've not stuck my finger in his mouth for some time but the way he is I don't think I will :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/06/2012 21:08

Thanks wss

I don't think having 4 is mad it depends on the age gaps. Four babies the same age at once would be v v hard yes but if they are spaced out by 2 or 3 years it would be ok. My sister has 4, oldest is 10 youngest is nearly 1. It's hectic in her house at times but it's lovely too.

Saying that though I'm sticking with two!

memphis83 · 10/06/2012 21:31

As L should have been a twin we apparently have a high risk of twins again, but i only want 2, dh will be having the snip after the next one!
L has been so good today, hes into nature at the mo, loving snails and spiders 'nails aaaa piiiiders'

booked our wedding venue today!

Hope all of you with babies get decent sleep tonight!

memphis83 · 10/06/2012 22:15

Hmm not sure why that went twice

Chulita · 11/06/2012 11:22

Seriously...B was up every 2.5 hours, last fed at 4.30 then I had to wake him up at 8 so we could get L to nursery. The older 2 were up at 6 of course...why can't he sleep 3.5 hours in a stretch at night rather than in the morning!

I'm trying to decide what long-term contraception to use, I've seen 3 HCPs and they've all said something different. DH is reluctant to get the snip after a bloke at work was limping around having had it. I jokingly say that after 3 emcs it's his turn to suffer but I don't really want him to if he's not keen.

memphis83 · 11/06/2012 15:26

chul i have had the implant and I put on 2 stone on 6 months, but my froend thinks its great. I have had the injection for years with no effects except for no periods. The patch is suppost to be good.
I know about 10 people who had te snip, only one had to have the day after off work the rest went back with no problems...apart from my cousin who had to have it 3 times as his swimmers were getting through but they have changed the proceedure now.
