chul hope you have a lovely time, you really do deserve it!
kk when do you go to look at the other ring?
It rained all night, not doing much today apart from going cinema this afternoon to watch Snow White and the huntsmen.
Where are mlisc, cake and tsc?

Trudyla · 15/06/2012 19:41

Have a lovely time chulita. Sometimes it seems like hard work to make the effort when you'd much rather sleep but it's nearly always worth it in the end.

Loving the Ween story Grin

M is only just starting to speak which I think is normal for bilingual children. I absolutely love it. It's so special hearing her try a new word all the time. My favourite phase so far.

We're off to England tomorrow. Dreading the journey but looking forward to being there.

Will try and keep up on Ipad.

memphis83 · 15/06/2012 21:30

trudy safe journey and hope the weather is nice here for you!

I have just been to see Snow White and the Huntsmen, was very good, although I wonder why people think Kristen Stewart is a good actress she was the worst thing about it!
Also been looking for a 'ween' book for L the only child friendly one was Peppa Pig meets the Queen, im sure he will love it though, at least it will save him walking around with last weeks newspaper!
Had confirmation about the wedding venue being booked for us tonight!

Woodlands · 15/06/2012 23:20

Yes I am loving this phase of new words every day! Shame about the sodding buggering tantrums though. I am totally sick of it. I feel like I am always walking on eggshells to try to avoid tantrums, but I really don't want to be that simpering parent begging their little darling not to do something. I am finding this stage tough!

I was going to ask, is J the only one of the toddlers not to have his canine teeth yet? It's now over 6 months since he got any new teeth!

memphis83 · 15/06/2012 23:35

woodlands L has only just broke his top ones, no sign of bottom ones yet

WhatSheSaid · 17/06/2012 07:45

How's everyone's weekends going?

I went to a big art exhibition yesterday, lots of pictures on loan from Scottish national gallery, stuff you don't see a lot of here like Van Gogh, Monet, Dali. Even had a Lowry to remind me of Manchester :) it was the last weekend before it closes and was v busy, was lovely to wander round on my own with no small children...

Today I met friends at a cafe for lunch and the Prime Minister was there! It's one of his local cafes apparently. It's such a small country.

Then took the kids to a park to meet up with friends, have had loads of me- time too.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 17/06/2012 09:06

I went into town for an hour and a half yesterday just to get some time on my own too wss and it was LOVELY. I bought a new top and a necklace for our jollies next week - both in the sale AND I used my NUS card-£30 of stuff for £14.70...I love a good bargain me Wink

Sooooo, nobody has been seeing my status updates for the last two weeks because I somehow accidentally changed my settings. So you haven't seen any photos or news from me! Div.

Memph I have never seen you answer the question about when your wedding is, other than 'a long way away' Are you going to actually tell us the date?

Hope you had a lovely anniversary chul and dh.

it only hit home yesterday that it's W's birthday in about 3 weeks. Better sort some presents out!

memphis83 · 17/06/2012 09:15

mlic I was wondering where you were, I thought you may have gone off fb and yesterday put your name in and saw it was there so didnt click thinking you must be busy but now seen your statuses!
The wedding 29th March 2014, ages away but hen whwn i tell people they seem to think in wedding terms its not, and wen i say we want a baby before they look like im crazy! If it happens i plan on spending the 9 months making miles of bunting!
I planned on taking mark out for dinner tonight but like every fathers day we have got to spend all afternoon with his family

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/06/2012 19:33

Yes same it's D's birthday on the 9th- 2 days after we get home from Spain. I've got a consultant app in the morning but we'll do something in the afternoon, not sure what though. I'm not buying him much, I got him an early present of 3 largish trucks/ digger type things from tk maxx because I was a bit worried they weren't going to be there next time I went in.

Spirael · 18/06/2012 14:04

Quiet in here at the moment! Where are you all?? Are you all off at Centreparcs again?

Woodlands, M is only just getting her canines through at the moment. It's been months since any new teeth had appeared, but looks like all the canines are coming at once now! After that, is it just the second set of molars to go?

M has her first freckle! Grin A little one on her arm. I have loads all year round and my DM is covered from head to toe as well. So M has the genetic potential for perpetual freckles from my side, rather than it being skin damage from the sun or anything.

It's actually pretty good timing, as M has been fascinated with my freckles recently and keeps pointing them out to me. All of them. Hmm Anyone elses LO's have any freckles?

Birthday arrangements happening here too, M's is on the 7th. Shock I think she'll be getting a whole load more Brio train stuff, since she seems to love playing with that. We're going down to my parents for her actual birthday and the plan is to either go to a Steam Fair or the Aeroplane Museum, depending on the weather. Can you tell M seems to love transport??

What's everyone else planning? :)

Off to Norfolk on Wednesday to spend a week there with the in-laws. Can't wait! Life has been so manic, a holiday will be bliss!

OP posts:
memphis83 · 18/06/2012 14:51

spirael I have loads of freckles, I am hoping L will have dh's skin tone as he goes tanned and never burns, L thinks mine are dirt!
For L's birthday we should be going to West Midlands safari park on the day before with a friend and her daughter, then on his actual birthday (12th) we are going to Gullivers Kingdom then will have a tea party for family on the Sunday, we bought him a 4 foot trampoline with enclosure for his birthday but gave it him a month ago to get the most of the heat we had, he wont know anyway, he is getting loads from other people, the balance bike we bought him when he was tiny is still huge for him so my gp's are getting him a small one, mum is getting him the new Micro scooter with the seat attatchment, dh's mum is getting him a sand and water table and im hoping someone will get him a basic brio type track and my sis has got him an aquadraw and postman pat in a helecopter.
L loves transport of any kind too, trains, vans and bikes being his favourite but loves that we live near the airport and a gliding club!

viksam · 18/06/2012 21:04

We havent planned anything for D's birthday yet, my folks are having a big garden party for their 50th wedding anniversary the week after so we wil probably sabotage that and have a cake there. We have brought him the toot toot vtec garage although im starting to regret it as we were at my friends house today and they have it and my word its noisy.
Im soooooo tired today, im gona go to bed in a min, F is so unsettled and has cried on and off all day, hes an absolute nightmare at the moment, hes so unsettled and i really dont know why. I think its tummy/wind/digestion but i really do not know and hes driving me nuts. Im finding him really really hard to deal with and i am running out of patience often. I had to pop out to the car to grab something earlier and i really just wanted to get in it and drive away. They both slept on the way back from my friends house for 20 mins at 1ish and neither of them slept again all day, consiquently they were both vile by tea time and D hardly ate anything. I can hear D on the monitor now starting to moan, i bet he has a bad night from hunger. OH JOY, Hes crying!
A dummy and a muslin was all that was needed. I wish it were that easy for F, off i go to bed when i can still see blue sky, whats that all about! Can u guys tell im mega fed up, sorry, it is just hard work at times and i could really do with a break.
Sorry memphis if this maudlin post effects ur broodyness, it shouldnt, i love them loads, its just me finding it all a bit much at times.
Hey ho tomorrow is another day, as they say!

memphis83 · 18/06/2012 21:41

viksam don't worry it won't put me off, when I feel I can't cope with L I put in an SOS to my mum or sister to whisk him away for a couple of hours so im afraid im a pretty shitty mum when I lose the will to live, you do so well living away from family, obviously I only have the one but im sure it will get easier once he is a bit older and can communicate a bit more! Do you give D milk before bed which would fill him up if he didn't eat? L has eaten loads today and still gone to bed with 9oz, I really need to get him off of formula but he just hates milk.

I took my mum to the venue where we will have our ceremony today, it is a council ran museum and its always open to the public, well today there was some sort of carers thing going on there like a convention, well the local city paper was there and took photos of mum, L and me and took our names, I had no make up on and mum was having her botox tonight so I hope it doesnt turn up in the paper!
Also as its the mayors room, court rooms from 600 years ago it has the old fashioned cells still there with the cells, stocks and some sort of torture device in it, we went in with dh the other week and L freaked out and was so upset, went today and he clawed at the door screaming noooo ouuuttttt he got so worked up (eventhough we didnt enter them) he could hardly breath and was shaking, now 30 seconds before we went to the door he was laughing and chatting with the gardener sniffing flowers, very scary!

viksam · 19/06/2012 20:21

memphis i did give D milk yeah but i dont usually, How much milk does everyone give now? He did wake once around 9ish but slept otherwise so thats good. F however woke twice and then woke for the day(he thought) at 4.50!!!!!!!! NO WAY MAN, Thats what i thought, so after much rocking etc i got him back off and spent till 7 having a lovely sleepy cuddle. I went to get F weighed today and talked to the HV about his poo and sick etc she strongly suggested to wean him and suggested he may have a slight milk intolerance, she said forget rice and go straight on to veg and fruit, so today hes had banana and sweet potato, he seemed much more ready for it this time and opened his mouth readily. He was still a swine to settle, i really hope it doesnt make him worse.
Hope everyone is enjoying the sun!

memphis83 · 20/06/2012 09:51

viksam glad weaning is going ok.L still has about 18 oz of milk a day!

spirael forgot to say we got L some great wooden cars a bit like brio all different car, bus, a mini, fire engine, police car and ambulance £13 feom jojomaman bebe.

L had really bad night terrors last night at one point he had a nightmare and he was throwing himself head first into cot...them he was up for the day at 3.30 I.want.to.die

viksam · 20/06/2012 13:53

memphis oh my thats too early, what do u think was bothering him? U must feel awfull, can u get any rest today? Thats loads more milk than D has, i wonder if D has enough. Funnily enough (well not funny AT ALL really) D also had a really bad night, he woke three times crying which for him, for about four weeks now, is very unusuall. I gave him some paracetamol in the end because i have a feeling its his teeth and he did settle after that, he doesnt do well in the heat thoughand it was hot in his room. F was also up three times and was a nightmare to settle each time so im also very tired today. D has gone to the cm today, i really didnt want him to go, i have decided to hand our 4 weeks notice in today, which will give me 6 weeks with them before i go back to work, 3 of which dh has off. I spoke to the nursery today, its gona be sooooo expensive, its £480 for one child for three days and we are putting both in! she said because theres two she could offer us some discount, im hoping its 10% which will put it under £900. I do wonder why im going back to work as i will hardly have any money left but its about more than money.
F is asleep in the garage in the pushchair and has been for the last hour and a half, hes needed rocking twice but otherwise has slept soundly, i love my new door into the garage from the house, makes things so much easier, he had his morning nap in the car on the drive too! bad moma!
Where is everyone????

memphis83 · 20/06/2012 14:29

vik I reckon they are all at cp! L has a history of night terrors but I feel bad for dh as L hasnt slept well all week and he is having to drive 500 miles a day and they normaly share drivig but this week its all him. I went bed when L did but he only had an hour but i feel a bit better now, am I mad for wanting another?
Ah just had my first proper conversation with the rugby player neighbour and i look rough but he is so lovely

Chulita · 20/06/2012 20:35

I wish we were at centre parcs. We were away at the weekend and FIL lived up to his usual self...hey ho, can't expect anything different. We did however have a lovely day on Saturday at a miniature railway place, S was fit to burst he was so excited with the tiny trains, buttons to push and a small train to ride on!
B's still up 3-4 times a night for feeds, I'm averaging 4-5 hours a night in 3-4 chunks and I've been getting dizzy spells at odd times during the day. I'm sure it's just exhaustion though, if I shovel a few biscuits down range they go but obviously can't keep eating biscuits so I don't faint. I'm going to see if DH can give B a bottle this weekend for maybe the 1st feed so I can get a decent run of sleep. He's away next week and the week after though and I'm absolutely dreading it.
viks childcare costs are shocking! re milk I don't give S any really, he has some at breakfast and sometimes he'll have some nesquik at teatime but I don't make a special effort to give him any. I also love the door through to the garage, we use that far more than the front door!
memphis Grin at you swooning over your neighbour! Fingers crossed for no night terrors from L tonight!

Woodlands · 20/06/2012 21:59

Urgh Viksam that is a lot of money - that's why we're planning on a bigger age gap. Ideally we'd have a baby next summer so J would get the free 15 hours a week while I was on ML, and then by the time I went back to work J would be starting school so still only one in childcare. But whichever way you do it it's expensive...

Dizzy spells don't sound good chulita. Definitely try to keep your blood sugar levels up if it helps but maybe try more protein/wholegrain stuff rather than biscuits?

memphis83 · 20/06/2012 23:02

chul what did fil do? I hope you get some more sleep tonight.
Ive just got in from having a drink with my friends for my best friends birthday i really hope he sleeps. Fil came over at half 6 and started gettinghim worked up so i told dh to tell him to calm him down or for him to leave i was so cranky! cant wait for weekend staying in hotel but god help my mates if they snore!

viksam · 21/06/2012 08:12

Advice please
Im really really pissed off! F was only waking once for a feed at arounf 3-4am, fab i thought but nooooooo, for the last around two weeks now hes waking at 12ish i dont feed him then i do offer him water though, then again at 3-4 for a feed and then is taking ages to settle and then he is waking again at 5ish for the day. I simply couldnt get him back to sleep this morning and i could hear D so we all got up. He shouldnt need this feed and when he wakes he seems to have a bad tummy. He settles better on his side, almost on his front and his nappys are still mucussy, grey and flecky, looks like seseme seeds. The question is do u think i should do CC, i really worried hes getting into the habit of me coming and i soooo can not go down the same road as D. Those who did CC with #2's did it bother their #1's? Also do u do it at night time wake ups or just when your putting them down at first? I like you chu absolutly done for, I feel so sorry for you with your DH away next week, maybe we should go to CP!! Lets put it on the credit card, anyone for a holiday?????
Its my birthday today and both children are mardy and DH had to go out early so i feel blue Sad

memphis83 · 21/06/2012 09:43

viksam Happy Birthday!!!! I really have no advice as you know L had bad gut until a few months ago and took ages to get anywhere with docs.
I lay in bed and sobbed this morning he just wont sleep he is wired all the time. Dh gave him a bottle i the end at 4.30 and at 5 he was shouting me and pratting about I am ashamed to shout at him lie down and shut up! And you know what? He bloody did, and slept til i had to leave for work an hour later. So maybe i need to just be firm with him refuse milk and be strict? What do you ladies think? I just cant think what is up with him

viksam · 21/06/2012 13:15

memphis dont be ashamed man, it drives you nuts, Im sure we have all done it, i know i have. This level of sleep deprivation is really really hard to deal with, i have no idea how you managed to go out in the evening, my social life/life is on hold completely. I do think they respond to us being firm, i know D does. He has been waking tragically early too, god knows whats going on with them. I did cc with F at his morning nap, only had to go in once after 5 mins of crying and he went straight to sleep after me settling him again. Just, at his lunch time nap i was going to leave him for 5 mins again but he didnt even need that he was asleep after 4!!! Lets hope this is the right thing and will help him settle at night too. Maybe i have been too soft on him too.
Just had some beautiful flowers delivered from DH, lucky girl. Im already looking forward to my chinese and wine tonight!

Chulita · 21/06/2012 14:17

memphis S certainly listens when I'm firm with him, not always but often it takes my Serious Voice to get him to listen. Mornings though are hit and miss I still haven't worked out how long a nap he needs. Yesterday he had about 10 mins in the car and he went straight to sleep at 7 and didn't wake up til about 6.30. He's just had 2 hours though so we're scuppered!

Happy Bithday viksam ! I didn't find that cc with S woke L up but then L can sleep through anything. S is far more easily disturbed so we'll have to see with B.

woodlands it makes sense to wait for the 15 hours funded, some places give you 18 hours which is even better!

I've started running again, only when I go and pick L up from nursery. I run there, get her and run back with her on her bike. About halfway home she gets tired and ends up sitting on the buggy with the two boys, her bike balanced on the handlebars...I feel like a right pack mule! Need to do it though, I hate being unfit and I've not been this unfit ever I don't think!

viksam · 21/06/2012 19:54

Chu U have just had ur third child, u need to cut yourself some slack man! Have u still got ur 360? I like mine now although when i see people in the babyjogger i do get a bit jealous cos it looks so much nicer. Did u do cc with both of urs and would u hesitate to do it with B? I feel like its my fault though cos im the one thats rocked him to sleep all the time but no more, hes a big boy too so my poorly back really cant take it. F is 24 weeks now and he weighs 17lb6oz D didnt get to that till 31 weeks.
I have wine and im waiting for my chinese now with both boys asleep so all is well with the world (untill the door knocks and the babies wake up and i dont get to eat my tea and it all goes tits up!!)
chu what date were u going to the sealife center in Nov?
memphis What was the diagnosis with L's poo's in the end and is he ok now?
