DECEMBER 2005: SETTLING DOWN???????

Hope no one minds but i thought id start a new thread as the last one was so long!!!

HOpe you are all well.
Sweetheart: CONGRATULATIONS on passing the exam! What a massive achievement for you! WELL DONE
George: I have gone through all Aelx-Leighs clothes too and had to sort through all the next age bracket, its so upsetting isnt it!
SCULLY: Alex is also a very windy baby! She is definately her daddies girl in that department IYKWIM
FLUTTER: hows George doing now with wind etc? Did you try gaviscon? fingers crossed fort he flat, bet you cant wait to get your own space again!
EBBIE: how are things with you babe?
Jays: How are things with Harriette??
Nemo? Where are you?? Hope you and kids all ok, how is DH new job going?
After the nightmare i had on MOnday i ended up having to take Alex-Leigh back to the doctors on friday. Gaviscon worked a treat for 3 days and the on Thursday she started vomiting again and screaming in pain. We booked to see a different GP at the surgery who was great and immediately diagnosed REFLUX and has put Alex on ENFAMIL milk which goes solid in the tummy thus preventing her from regurgitating the whole bottle and stomach acid. She seems to be doing ok, still getting some sick but very small amounts comapred to before! Was discharged from Therepy on Friday, therepist said i had worked really hard to start the grieving process and has said she is happy im well on my way and wants me to stay on anti depressants for 6 months. Dh has handed in his notice at work, long story but he is no longer happy there, this means he now has 6 weeks to find himself another job or we will be in a very bad situation!!! Im trying to be supportive but its hard! I start back at work in 2 weeks and am looking forward to finally earning some money again, although what i earn will not be enough to pay bills if DH doesnt get a job!
Got to go as Alex has just woken up from her nap!

Take care all.

hi all
we arent around as having horrendous week..last week I was ill then started bleeding having threatened miscarriage..luckily had scan on mon and everything is fine.

Tuesday Hannah was taken into hospital again and is still there so dont know when she will be home.

scully · 03/06/2006 11:14

oh dear Nemo, hope you and Hannah are ok now Shock
I developed mastitis on Thursday so have been feeling quite awful for the last couple of days, antibiotics seem to be starting work though now I hope.
Hope everyone is enjoying this gorgeous weather, which has finally arrived Smile

ei23 · 06/06/2006 11:01

hey everyone!!Smile how are you all??
nemo sorry to hear about hannah being poorly again and your troubles with the new pregnancy!! hope everythin is ok now big hugs xx
scully ouch about the mastitis hope you are feelin better hun xx
jus a quick question what do/did everyones babies weigh at 5 months??sian is 17lb 8oz and the health visitor has told me to cut down her food/ milk intake to avoid her becoming obese in later childhood!! surely i shouldnt be putting her on a diet just yet! shes tall aswell as chubby so i felt a bit offended by her saying shes too heavy for her age!Angry should i be??
anywho...where is everyone hiding? hope all is well! love to you all xx

Nemo1977 · 06/06/2006 21:35

hi EI
I wouldnt worry about sians weight I was always being told Adam was very big for his age and as a baby he was. Now however he is a whooping 28lbs and has been for over a year yet is the height of a 4yr old so very thin and very tall. Hannah is around 16lb now as she was weighed in hospital last week but keep getting told she is underweight yet she is a porky little thing with rolls of flab like mine..lol

hope everyone else is ok why are we sooooo quiet now?

scully · 08/06/2006 10:03

This should help you feel better EI, at week 20 dd2 weighed in at 12lb 13oz Smile
& she's moved up that lovely graph too, now on the 9th percentile, was on 2nd Wink
But to look at her she is healthy, happy and I'm sure I'd here if she was hungry. But I compare her to dd1, who was 12lb 14oz at 21wks and never got to the 9th percentile Shock Smile
We just have small babies it seems, who don't gain loads of weight, dd1 is still a lightweight, 4yrs old and about 16kg (sorry not sure what that is in stone!)
Just got back from the doctor and I have another dose of mastitis, developed on the other side on Monday and no amount of feeding or massaging will shift the blockage I can feel. Given me longer dose of antibiotics this time though so hopefully infection will clear properly this time.......
Yes, where is everyone??

sweetheart · 08/06/2006 19:36

Hi all, I hope you are all well. Nemo hope things get better soon hun.

Lucas is six months old today - I can't believe it. He's doubled his birth weight and now weighs 16Ib 5Oz.

I go back to work on Monday and I have to admit I'm not dreading it - I thought I would be. I'm only going back 3 days a week and I know Lucas will be in brilliant hands with my mum so I'm quite looking forward so having some grown up time.

Everything else here is good - just got back from holiday which was very nice and relaxing, and I'm making the most of the beautiful wether here.

My dd had her birthday yesterday so we had family round for dinner (outside in a huge thunder storm!) we are going to a theme park on Saturday without Lucas (giving her some special time on her own for being such a good big sister) and then it's her party on Sunday. I'll be going to work for a break at this rate!

Love to you all - would love to hear how some of you are getting on - Ninah, DQ, george. I've been totally rubbish at keeping in touch lately! Sorry!!!

bonkerz · 09/06/2006 21:44

Hi all, very quiet here! I have been reading but not posted cos worried i may bore people!!
Alex-Leigh is doing very well, still in regular 2 hour feeding routine alternating bottle and solids, weird girl cos she prefers savoury to sweet!!! Shes stretched out alot in the last few weeks and is filling out 6-9 month clothes nicely so am spending money on 9-12 month clothes to keep up with her! A very smiley little girl and wonderfully patient which is a god send when i have 2 two year olds demanding my attention as well!! She has started to get EXTERMELY vocal though so not sure how long the patience thing will last!!! Not had her weighed since she was 3 months old, mainly because of working! Have weighed her at home as best i can and reckon she is about 16lb ish, have noticed she is evening out alot since going on to solids despite still drinking about 30oz milk per day!! She is very active though and sits with cusions around her, she also loves being on her feet and Dh loves standing her up at sofa and playing chicken with her (much to my digust!!)
DS has had a few problems at school recently to the point where they excluded him for 24 hours but to cut a long story short i toughed it out and made complaint after complaint about ds having a label and being punished in front of the class etc.....hate his teacher....and he has been a star pupil this week!!! All this though has taken its toll on me!! Dh has just finished 7 weeks of training for his new job and has been away alot so ive been virtually a single parent and emotionally im shot! Went to doctors on monday and he took me off citolopram anti-d and gave me prozac BUT im too scared to take them!! Yesterday was a bad day and i had some shakes and was very irritable BUT im on day 5 nopw without any pills and am ok at the moment, i really want to avoid going on to prozac if i can help it so will see how i go!!
think thats it! Im going to get my hair cut short tomorrow cos im fed up of having to tye it back so alex-leigh cant get at it!!

Hope everyone is OK, hows Hannah and pip nemo??

Hi all,

I haven't posted for a while as I have been really busy with Dylan and life in general. I also have been really stressed out and so would have brought the thread down.

Anyhoo I have some news....................

I'm getting married!!!!!!!!!! Grin Grin 3rd March 2007 at a beautiful place called Oaks Farm in Shirley - have a look on the web if you can.

Finally things are sorting themselves out! dp Has found another job after being unemployed for 2.5 weeks. His old company has asked him to come back and we get to keep the redundancy package!!

Must dash as Dylan is awake but will get back on here as soon as so I can catch up with you all.

Hugs to you Bonkerz!

Love to all

Jaysfirst · 16/06/2006 12:26

Wow people are still here!!! I thought id drop by and say a hello to everyone, like everyone i have been kept busy with Harriette, shes such a sweetie though i dont mind any of it!!!
Shes getting big now much like the rest of the babies, weighing 18lbs and 8 ozs two weeks ago (5months) and now has two teeth through!! my baby is all growing up and its happening right before my eyes!!!
DH and i have decided to move back to Nottingham, and have sold our house and found one already, all in the space of about two months, its now all in the hands of solicitors etc. We have also decided to try for another baby at the end of July aiming for a gap of 18 mths between babes, will keep you posted.
Hope everyone is ok love to you all xxxxxxx

ei23 · 16/06/2006 16:23

hey everyone!Grin
how are you all? were great!!
sian is growing so fast its amazing how much she hascome on in just a few weeks!! she can sit unaided now and is on 3 meals a day!! shes a big girl now and is in her 6-9 month clothes as the 3-6's are too small! me and dp are getting on really well and are considering trying for another baby in a few months!
anywho gotta fly so see you guys later luv n hugs xx

scully · 16/06/2006 18:08

yay, nice to see people posting again, yay, was beginning to think I'd need to answer my own posts Wink
Well had our house valued today so it should be on the market next week, so fingers crossed it won't take too long to find someone who wants to buy it.....Once we have an offer we can decide which route we take back to Australia (thinking about a little holiday on the way there) and I can start getting quotes from shipping companies etc.
dd1 and dd2 are both great, have been getting on so much better with dd1 since the weather improved and she isn't under my feet for 12 hrs a day, but can go outside and play. Definitely makes me want to move even more now, as I just wasn't coping with us all being cooped up inside from Dec to May.
Are your family in Nottingham Jay? Congrats Kangel, that's lovely news, I'll have a look at the venue.

bonkerz · 16/06/2006 18:59

Jays, let me know when you do move, maybe we could meet seeing as im only and hour away!!! Alex- Leigh weighed 18lb 1 oz today so so much for evening out! She has been quite poorly the last couple of days and has a high temperature but shes not really grumpy with it! Still not rolling over here but definately trying although she is sitting with cusions and likes being on her feet! Have started giving some finger foods (melon, banana, rusk, biscotti, rice cakes etc) which she is loving due to teething!
Health visitor came out today and told me to go back on anti Ds as im not doing too well without them! Dh and i arguing loads and am having horrid dreams about DD and DS dying. Not nice and have become quite paranoid so may start the tasblets tomorrow.
Hope everyone elase is well.

bonkerz · 24/06/2006 20:48

Hi all

Alex-Leigh has chicken pox!She has been poorly for over a week now with temperature etc but i thought she was over the worst of it. Took kids out today to soft play and whilst changing her nappy noticed 2 spots on her head, 3 hours later and she had three times as many and tonight she has gone to bed covered in calamine lotion and dosed up on calpol!! Poor thing!!!
Started on my anti-ds on friday and its been a great week! Dh and I are talking again and had a good week.
Have satrted a campaign to stop a block of flats being turned into a hostel for ASBOs and Druggies, these flats are at the end of my road and i am fuming over the plans! Thankfully so is everyone else in our village! I have been main spokes person and been in the paper and on 2 local radio stations this week! Got a huge meeting next tuesday with press and news crews!! ME? LOCAL CELEBRITY? PAH!!!! amazing how throwing yourself into other things improves your mood!!!
Hope everyone is doing OK.

Hello all.

Glad to hear so many of you are doing well. It would be great to hear from a few more of you out there!

Who's due back to work - long gours stuck at desks should promote more chat

Well, guess what I happen to be doing at the moment yep - I'm back at my desk 3 days a week. It hasn't been bad coming back, I'm actually quite enjoying it although I did find myself looking at photos yesterday and missing my baby!

Lucas is coming on leaps and bounds - don't think it will be too long until he's on the move (god help me) as we're all early walkers (me dh and dd).

Only down side to being back at work is that I haven't found a gap in the week to go to the gym yet. I'm starting to feel the frump! Still, I have a couple of weddings coming up so hopefully that will spur me on to find the time.

Hope everyone is well - I'll stop blabbering now.
Love to you all and the babies!

ninah · 28/06/2006 14:22

Hello again! congratulations Kangel - and Nemo! wow you go girl ...
Kangel your squirrel story was Bleurgh!
All well here with children happy and thriving, still not back at work (Wimbledon, good weather - I know I'm lucky this year). Sounds like you have the answer DQ - a business you can run from home that you love doing as well. I'd like to find something that fits the brief otherwise it's back to the office ...
Scully you're going back to Aus? wow, good luck with that - and Jays, moving
Such a lot seems to have happened since I last logged on it seems so much longer than a year ago we had the TP blues
Best to you all

hitchcock · 30/06/2006 19:39

hi new to this thread hope everyone and babes are well my dd was born 4/12/06 so is it ok to join you all?

Nemo1977 · 01/07/2006 21:27

hi hitchcock..welcome to the thread..it is a little quiet at the moment with people getting used to juggling the littlies.

SH glad you are enjoying being back at work.

Kangel congrates on your wedding date.

Bonkerz hope Alex is a bit better

Ninah hi nice to catch up with you..how are things??

WE are all ok..H is sick yet again with another chest infection so back again to gps on monday as this course of antibiotics have not shifted it....sigh. I am 12wks pg tommorow..blimey where has the time gone???

Hope all the littlies are well..H is trying to crawl at the moment which is funny as she gets on all fours then tries to lurch at something[usually adam] but ends up looking like a flailing swimmer on her stomach..bless her. Cant believe how quickly they are growing up.

scully · 09/07/2006 17:13

A whole week without posts, we are all busy!
would love to tell you all what we've been up to, but have trouble remembering when I do get a chance to sit down here and type
We took both dd's to Wimbledon on the 1st Friday evening. dd1 was great, and sat very still and quiet whilst we watched some doubles games and dd2 slept in her pram. Bit of an effort to queue in the heat but worth it once we were in there. Had a picnic in Hyde Park with a friend on Monday and even managed to go into a few shops along Oxford St, not for very long mind you but anything is better than nothing
dd2 is now shuffling all over the floor, not crawling as such but certainly not staying where I left her lots of chatter now as well, and she is doing well with her solids, only thing she hasn't really liked so far is avocado.
We've had loads of viewings on the house so hoping for an offer we're happy with soon.
Hope everything is good with you all

Hollyboo · 09/07/2006 18:13

Hi I'm new to this thread as well. DD was born 11/12/05. Two teeth, flying on solids although she much prefers her cereals to her savouries. Not panicking about it just yet. Rolling over, nearly sitting up but no crawling at all. Talks constantly and I have images of her school jornal already saying 'Holly was very talkitive today in class' like her mum. Can't see where the last seven months have gone. It's scary really. But I don't remember what it was like without her

Jaysfirst · 09/07/2006 21:29

Hi Holly, hi everyone, how time goes by without you even noticing it!! Harriette also has two teeth and is getting by now on three meals aday. Her milk consumption has dropped, mainly having two bottle of 7 ozs morning and bed, with anything between 3-7 in the daytime, but she is drinking about 5ozs of water so i am not worried. Weight gain is good, sleeping is good, she seems to have a bit of a continous cold ( runny nose, sneezing and coughing) but i am putting it down to teething. She rolls over back to front and vice versa, sits on her own, and turns herself in a complete 360 degree circle, no crawling as yet but thats ok, we move to Nottingham in about 5 weeks so i hope she doesnt till we get there, will make my life easier! Most days consist of going for a walk, meeting the antenatal group and their babies, going swimming, and generally enjoying having a baby...............oh and also getting used to the idea that i will have another one in March!!!! Found out yesterday i am five weeks pregnant today! Really strange as i feel somewhat reluctant to tell people becasue of a massive fear of something going wtong. Never felt it the first time round but becasue that went well i feel like this one wont....just being daft i know and i am sure all wll be fine. Off to join the Due in March thread! Harriette will be 14 mths when the new one comes along....what have i done!!!!!!

Hollyboo · 09/07/2006 23:09

Aaw congrats Jaysfirst. Great news, hope everything goes well for you. They'll be great company for eachother. And you'll be fit as anything running around after them
We had Holly through a cycle of ICSI treatment and we're thinking of going again next March so hopefully I'll be joining the 'due in Dec 07' thread. Holly will be two by then, hard work but worth it.

scully · 13/07/2006 22:15

Great news Jay, congrats
I'm still keen for number 3, dh almost there
Hard to believe our little Dec babes are 7mths old this month
