Hope no one minds but i thought id start a new thread as the last one was so long!!!

HOpe you are all well.
Sweetheart: CONGRATULATIONS on passing the exam! What a massive achievement for you! WELL DONE
George: I have gone through all Aelx-Leighs clothes too and had to sort through all the next age bracket, its so upsetting isnt it!
SCULLY: Alex is also a very windy baby! She is definately her daddies girl in that department IYKWIM
FLUTTER: hows George doing now with wind etc? Did you try gaviscon? fingers crossed fort he flat, bet you cant wait to get your own space again!
EBBIE: how are things with you babe?
Jays: How are things with Harriette??
Nemo? Where are you?? Hope you and kids all ok, how is DH new job going?
After the nightmare i had on MOnday i ended up having to take Alex-Leigh back to the doctors on friday. Gaviscon worked a treat for 3 days and the on Thursday she started vomiting again and screaming in pain. We booked to see a different GP at the surgery who was great and immediately diagnosed REFLUX and has put Alex on ENFAMIL milk which goes solid in the tummy thus preventing her from regurgitating the whole bottle and stomach acid. She seems to be doing ok, still getting some sick but very small amounts comapred to before! Was discharged from Therepy on Friday, therepist said i had worked really hard to start the grieving process and has said she is happy im well on my way and wants me to stay on anti depressants for 6 months. Dh has handed in his notice at work, long story but he is no longer happy there, this means he now has 6 weeks to find himself another job or we will be in a very bad situation!!! Im trying to be supportive but its hard! I start back at work in 2 weeks and am looking forward to finally earning some money again, although what i earn will not be enough to pay bills if DH doesnt get a job!
Got to go as Alex has just woken up from her nap!

Take care all.

sweetheart, ninah , george, thankyou so much for my emails. they mean such alot, even tho i barely get time to respond!
have been busy, i do alot of graphic design/photo enhancement for people, in the process of making it a business rather than a hobby.
Sweet Daisy is perfect, sleeping, feeding, smiling, laughing (dont those belly laughs melt your heart?:) ) taken me four children to get the easy laid back one!lol
shes had her first taste of fruit puree, but I'm in no rush for weaning yet!
interesting to read how you are all doing with your little ones, nice to know they are all well and growing up.
hope to 'speak' to some of you again soon
take care...x

dq nice to see you on here and its lovely to hear you sounding so content with your family!!
luv an hugs to you all xx

scully · 15/05/2006 16:53

How's the new house Flutter, all moved in now? Great to hear from you DQ, I am amazed by how you manage to fit everything in, with 4 kids in tow Smile Can you believe our dd's were 20wks yesterday, where is the time going. I know what you mean about the belly laughs, dd2 has such a great chuckle, you can tell she really is finding it funny. dd1 manages to get the best laughs from her, they speak the same silly language Smile
dh and I are now at the stage of discussing when to have no. 3, not if Grin Other decision is which country, here or waiting until after we are in Australia. I am leaning towards here, even if it delays the move by 6mths, but he is more for waiting until we are there. Our house is going on the market in a few weeks hopefully so we'll see how much interest there is in it and go from there I guess.

Haven't started weaning yet, probably will do in the next few weeks I guess but will be a bit sad for my baby to be growing up so quickly Sad

bonkerz · 15/05/2006 20:49

Hi all, My my we have gone quiet havent we! Could it be our little darlings stopping us from mumsnetting!! SHOCK HORROR!!!

Well, i feel rubbish!!! Alex-Leigh is teething and taken to waking two or three times a night just chatting and wingeing for her dummy, she does go back off with dummy but wakes the minute she loses it again! Work is busy busy as i have taken on some creche work to help pay off the overdraft! This means i have 5 kids on a monday and tuesday and am exhausted. Guilt is doing wonders for my emotions too as i have finally admitted defeat with DS and put him into an afterschool club two afternoons a week, amazing really considering i started childminding so i could be the one to pick him up from school etc and now my childminding is preventing me from doing that! Just fed up of hearing my own voice nagging him so much!
Dh is away again on a training course for his new job so it feels like im a single mum again and i hate being here on my own IYKWIM!!
Sorry to be all doom and gloom! Things are not really THAT bad i suppose! Alex-Leigh is a stickler for routine which is great for me but she is starting to get a bit clingy and doesnt like it if i am out of her sight!! She is an absolute darling though, wont roll over but quite happy to sit up with cushions around her for a while before toppling! Loves being in the walker at toddler groups and actually started moving around in it last week much to my amazement!!
Nemo: hows pregnancy babe?
Flutter: hows new house?
Scully: Alex is on 3 meals a day now and i know what you mean about them growing up too fast!
Ei: glad you are doing so well!
DQ: you really are supermum! Full of admiration for you!
Where is everyone else then, hope you are all ok.

Wow it seems like gaes since I've been on here.... well the story so far is.........

Thinks here are pretty good, Lucas has started sleeping much better and generally sleeps from midnight to 6am which is ALOT better than he's been previously. He is starting to sit unaided and is very keen to roll over but can't quite figure out how to move his arm from underneath him. He's doing well with his solids too - absolutly loves any type of fruit but he's not so keen on veg (possibly a sweet tooth inherited from yours truly Blush!) He's just under a Ib away from doubling his birth weight - little porker!

We are off on holiday in a couple of weeks so I am busy making huge lists of everything we need to take. Once we get home it's nearly time for me to go back to work which now I've managed to negotiate part time I'm quite happy about. I do like being at home with the kids but I will enjoy having a couple of days a week to be an adult (I'm trying not to sound selfish!!!). I'm not the sort of person that could ever be a full time sahm so I've found a happy medium!

i'VE REACHED MY PRE-PREGNANCY WEIGHT JUST IN TIME TO PILE IT ALL BACK ON ON HOLIDAY Grin(Whoops Capslock!) Although I won't be reaching for a bikini quite yet Shock Wink Still got another stone or two to loose first!

Everything here is pretty wonderful at the moment!

I hope everyone else is doing well - Nemo congrats on your pregnancy (your a brave lady Wink).
DQ geat to hear things are so blissful with you - it's fab to feel contented isn't it Grin
Ninah - hope your doing well babe - sorry I haven't been in touch so much recently, I promise to do better once I'm back at my work desk Wink Grin
George - how's little Jake? Haven't heard from you in a while.

And hello to everyone esle - sorry if I've forgotten anyone!

ebbie22 · 16/05/2006 21:45

hey guys, how are you all?congrats nemo on ur wonderful news...

been a real hectic couple of months, with one thing and another, not wanting to bore u all though...lol

SH how did u manage to get bk to pre weight?????????

dramaqueen72 · 17/05/2006 00:24

ebbie you dont bore us, I do hope all is well.
s/h well have a fab holiday! I dont know about my weight -not doing anything as stupid as ever weighing myself to start with- but i've changed shape.may be about what i am 'usually' but its a heck of alot flabbier. blurgh
I'm all ** at Lucas sitting up...blimey! I'm in no hurry for daisy to be doing that (large bumps on head and much crying with that stage....) shes very wriggly when on the floor and has comtemplated rolling over but hasnt.
shes tried apple and mango as dd2 was eating some and Daisy was desperately trying to eat the spoon too:) but gosh nowhere near weaning yet. no rush,no hurry to grow up like I say.
right now she has a cold which isnt fair on such a sweetpea...:(
Ei, you sound happy! lol
bonkerz I'm no super woman, I'm just more laid back I think! the more children you have the more you have to be!Grin
thank god i can work from home, as I put my hand up to being total wuss and detest leaving daisy for any time at all. I hate it.
george do check in, having nagged me too its the least you can do!LOL
scully, please stay in kinda touch, I'm so fond of your littlest short person -being born the same day as Daisy and all! and your sweet dd1 was a honey when I met her too!
I'm all agog at the new due dec ladies...I cant believe its coming up fast to six months....
Hope all pg again ladies feel okay.
and WTG on the toothies little George!

kangel · 17/05/2006 00:50

Hi all, am glad you are all ok!!

I am not coping at all as I sit here crying my eyes out. DP is out of a job in 2 weeks so next month we have my £400 maternity pay to live on!! But not only that but we are in a battle with DP's ex as she has decided that she wants to move SDD 100 miles away from us which means that we would have to do a 400 mile round trip every weekend to see her, not only can we not afford this but how unfair is this on SDD who is just 6!!!
Meanwhile I am trying to become a registered childminder and cannot learn the standards as my preggy brain and memory still remain.

At this moment I cannot stop crying Sad

Sorry for putting a downer on here.

bonkerz · 17/05/2006 18:25

Kangel, if you need any help with becoming a childminder let me know. I can send oyu all my paperwork if you want!

THANK YOU!!!

kangel · 17/05/2006 21:28

I just had to share this with you guys.....

I went for a walk to visit my brothers girlfriend today, it was a lovely walk - long but all down hill.
Finally got to her house and took ds in and all the baggage that comes with a 5 month old. Their house is very small or as she describes a 'rabbit hutch' so I took the buggy round the back to put in the garden out of the way. I folded it up and picked it up to put against the wall and was horrified at what I saw!!......I shouted for my brothers girlfriend to bring some tissue so she did and stood well away and refused to see what I was doing, anyway I wasn't brave enough to go near it and so kindly left it for DP to deal with, I wasn't really sure what I was dealing with but could give a detailed description and I had an idea of what it looked like.

Anyway a while later we decided to go to the shop to get some lunch and so walked back the way I had walked a couple of hours earlier. After about 5 minutes I was determined to clean the buggy and so stopped and looked for a very long thick stick, which on first attempt snapped in half. I managed to do it though - I unraffled the mess with quite a bit of heaving but felt much better knowing that it was off! Within a couple of meters of doing this my bro's g/friend screams and throws her arms around me............there it was!...........there was the culprit!..........................

I hope you have a strong stomach!............................................................................................................................................................................................

I can't manage to win the lottery but I can however manage to get the stringy inside remains of a chewed up squirral wraped around the wheel of my buggy!!!! Shock

I still feel sick now!

ebbie22 · 17/05/2006 21:41

YUCK....

sweetheart · 18/05/2006 17:02

Hi all, hope everyone is doing ok.

Ebbie - it hasn't been easy to get my weight down - I've been doing weight watchers for the last 8 weeks as well as trying to get to the gym a couple of times a week and I've also taken up playing netball. I'm really glad I've done it though because I feel brilliant - so good in fact that I've even starting saying I'm going to be sensible with my food on holiday AND take my trainers so I can go for a run. I must be mad Grin

DQ - I haven't been in a hurry for Lucas to grow up either and now he's sitting up I feel a little sad that his real tiny baby days are over (and thats the last for me). With the weaning, we've had such problems with him taking any milk from day 1 that I just thought I'd give solids a try - he absolutly loves it and as a result of filling himself up he's sleeping better too which makes me a much happier mummy! He's also doing a little better with his milk now. The weaning was really led by him.

kangel - sorry things are bad for you at the moment hun - have you thought about speaking to your GP?

Hope everyone else is doing well, take care
SH xxx

dramaqueen72 · 19/05/2006 13:39

nice to see you sh!! gosh we used to talk ten times aday! miss that! good for your cute boy on the food front, glad hes doing so well at it.
sitting up? omg! Daisy is far too laidback for that! hes growing fast bless him. stop mentioning the running youre making me feel bad!lol......

scully · 19/05/2006 20:23

Regards weightloss, I definitely think having an older child to run after helps with that! If you don't have one, hire a 3 or 4 yr old, the pounds will fall off you (wink)
On a more serious note, has anyone else noticed their relationship with their first child has changed sinced the arrival of the baby? Maybe it's just me getting used to being a sahm but I'm really struggling with dd1, she turned 4 last month and drives me nuts most of the time with her asking the same question 20 times if she doesn't like my answer and just generally arguing about most things. I try not to lose my temper, but have to admit to struggling on that. dh thinks I'm too hard on her but it's hard with no other family around to ask, and her being our eldest and us not wanting a nightmare child in a few years time......

bonkerz · 20/05/2006 08:50

scully, found myself worrying about the same thing! DS is 5 and all i seem to do is shout and argue with him! HAve put him into after school club two nights a week cos i really cant cope with him and am concerned that im not showing him as much love as i should!

OP posts:
sweetheart · 20/05/2006 14:56

I am finding exatly the same with my 6 year old dd. She constantly argues back to anything I say to her and I find myself wound up by her all the time at the moment. I have been making an effort the last few days to shout at her less as I do think I'm ott hard on her and as a result we are developing the sort of relationship where she won't feel she can talk to me when shes older.

scully · 22/05/2006 20:53

Thx sh and bonkerz, it's so nice to hear that I'm not the only one struggling with this age, finding it so much tougher than I ever expected, with dd1. I'm also worried about when she's older sweetheart, I don't want to just fall into this pattern where I'm always shouting, but I want her well behaved at the same time. Consequently I'm enjoying dd2 before she starts talking non stop for 13hrs a day Wink

scully · 31/05/2006 13:24

Where is everyone?? We got back on Monday after a lovely 5 days in France. Spent 1 day at Disney & 2 days in Paris. Saw loads but relaxing & feel like we've had a proper break. dd1 loved Disney but amazingly talks about going up the Eiffel Tower just as much :) dd2 just smiled at everyone & made friends :) & we discovered her 2 bottom teeth have come through, clever girl :)
