DeterminedandSpecialMum · 04/05/2012 07:35

DP & I like mini board games Aethel what was it.

I thought I'd try & dream feed Sky at 11:30 last night - didn't work she fed then, then again at 1:30 then again at 3:30 waking at 6am. Knew that hr nap yesterday afternoon would come back and get me last night Sad

Must find the energy for shopping later Smile

I was using the copper coil between having my girls. Not on any contraception apart from condoms as we want TTC3 after the wedding. However, after no3 will be getting sterilised Grin

Hello tyel! DH moved into the spare room when DD was born so I have done every single nightfeed and wake-up. He is rubbish when he has a disturbed night and has a lot on at work so most of the time I don't mind but there have also been moments of seething resentment! I think the worst was when I had been trying to get DD down for 2 hours in the middle of the night (wind) and got him up to help because my back was killing me and I was getting very frustrated. I woke him up and got back into bed while I waiting for him to come and help. And waitied and waited. Went back in to find he had rolled over and gone back to sleep. It takes a lot to get me angry but he definitely succeeded that time! He has also recently decided to start exercising again and wants to get up an hour earlier to do so. Seems such a luxury to me to have got so much sleep for the last 5 months that he is able and willing to do that while I clamour for every few minutes sleep and rest I can get! Sorry moan over.

DD just woke once for a feed so not feeling too bad but was also up in the night checking on DS as he had a temp of 39.6 yesterday. No other symptoms except off his food so I think its an ear infection as he's prone to them. Called GP and they said just to treat with painkillers but I'm not sure whether to gett him checked over anyway before the long weekend in case he does need antibiotics. His temp went down to 37 before bed as gave him calpol and nurofen but was 39 when I checked on him at 2am so gave him more calpol. Not taken his temp yet this morning but he still feels hot. HMmmmm

Rashkakeller · 04/05/2012 08:34

Ds woke me at 3am last night so no 5 nights in a row sleep through for me. He did go straight back after, wide awake and went back to sleep so could be worse but still...

Feel shit, had the sinus headache from hell all night with the occasional respite plus kept having tickly coughing fits. You know its been a bad night when you wake in a bed littered with used tissues, nice!

Sorry, a bit mememe this morning! Have a nice day everyone, hopefully a nice long weekend for those working.

aethelfleda · 04/05/2012 08:37

It's a game called Dominion. it's a bit like a collectable card game but you buy the set whole and everyone starts with the same ten cards, and you build a mediaeval county to earn victory points. It's not pictorial and kiddy-interesting (i reckon you'd need to be eight plus to find it engaging). We have quite a few off-the-standard games here as we've had gaming friends since uni and every so often one of them will say "hey, have you played xxx yet, it's great!" and we'll meet up to play. It's a bit like social bridge playing but with more variety!

aethelfleda · 04/05/2012 08:39

Well, rashka you did say you were due a bad one!

gee could well be a viral thing: are you going to give him ibuprofen and see how it goes?

Wishbus luck, we've an inset day so are attempting chessington...

Figgygal · 04/05/2012 08:47

Gah another disturbed night 1.30 and 5.30 which I know isn't bad compared to some of you but I'm utterly hanging. Dh still Ill too so generally poo around here.

Lo has just had porridge ahead of breakfast bottle 2, bath and rhyme time this morning.

Is anyone else's babies becoming clingy? He keeps crying if people as much as talk to him let alone pick him up. Took him to work yesterday he didn't make a good impressionConfused

hawthers · 04/05/2012 09:27

This dropped off my list odd.

DH totally annoying me as f slept from 1 to 4 and he said that was a good night for us.. from the man who got 8 hours sleep last night. Then he got shitty with me when I snapped back. Going to be a looong day

Kitty5824 · 04/05/2012 09:32

Demanded feeding at....1.15, 3 (I fell asleep whilst feeding him so not sure how long he ate/slept), 4.45, 6, 8.15. Back now very sore becasure of sleeping propped up in bed.

I've got Mum's car for the weekend (she's visiting my Uncle in London - and is having afternoon tea at the Ritz today Envy), so he will now sleep pretty much all day whilst I'm doing stuff and not tonight. Bleurgh!

In other news, am off to feed Mum's cats (the reason I have her car!!) then to Tesco to buy lovely food to fill my shiny new Fridge Freezer. I had a Fridge Freezer in the last house, but due to rubbish positioning and already broken freezer drawers it became more trouble than it was worth to get food in and out. So it's been over 2 years since I had an easily accessible freezer!

First item on my list? Ben and Jerry's core. Bet that's been eaten before DH gets home from work......

AWomanCalledHorse · 04/05/2012 09:51

We have a tooth. Now it hurts me more than it hurts him Grin

Off to feed the toothy one. Gah!
Full post later.

CherryBlossom27 · 04/05/2012 09:59

KateM77 that's awful that your library is closing, i know the country is in debt, but libraries are really important, they aren't just for borrowing books! I know at my mums local library they help people who can't read and write to fill in forms and help them read their bills etc, they're also a good meeting point for things such as rhyme time and for finding out local information etc.

Figgy, no I'm in Hertfordshire otherwise would love to meet up, your LO sounds exactly the same as mine...both eating machines lol!

Tyel feeling for you, that is rubbish! Hope things get better soon or if not can you get a break for an hour or two?

Rashkakeller · 04/05/2012 10:11

AWCH a tooth! Congrats :) Hope LO refrains from testing it on you, ouchie! My dd bit my nipple once but she was older and knew exactly what she was doing because she was smiling! Little madam!

Kitty I bought 2 b&j core icecreams when I went shopping - they're on offer at Morrisons and Tesco. Can't wait to try them!

Aethel Yep def due a bad night but not as bad as some of you have to put up with. And to be fair, it was me keeping me awake, more than ds! Hope you have a great day out!

Feel a little more human now I'm up and about. Ds is napping then we're off to my mums for a cuppa because my sister is coming over with her sproglets. Might have a Mac d's today, feel very much like a dirty burger and fries...feed a cold, starve a fever...

GeeandTee · 04/05/2012 10:17

DS still grizzly but temp a bit better. Have given ibuprofen, teddy and postman pat!

Kitty sleeping propped up is the worst!

A tooth! Ouch!

AWomanCalledHorse · 04/05/2012 11:40

Tyel, sorry to hear DH is being a running arse, can I throw a fast ? hope you & DS have a great time away, and he starts feeding.
hawthers, hope it's not too crappy today!
Gee, hope DH is apologetic & grovelling today.
My DH has decided to cancel his gym membership for the meanwhile, he's been once in 6 months, he's had a bad back since the labour (stooped over for 15hrs) and really needs to see a physio or someone.

Air, haven't seen TinTin sorry!

For those who love card games, can I recommend Dobble it's a very simple idea that's fun for all ages (so Darcy might enjoy it DSM, not trying to sound too much like an advert), picked it up over the weekend & it's the only thing we can play around DS's sleeping/me me me moments (we're sad bastards who play games quite a bit).

Figgy, DS has all of a sudden stopped going to sleep in the cot, only with me though, anyone else puts him to bed he'd happily fall asleep in the gutter (probably)! And he has to fall asleep holding my hand. Will have to remind him of this when he is a cool 16yr old.

Hope you feel better today Rash, McD's is the best thing for any sort of illness!

Kitty, hurray for new(ish) fridge freezer!

It's our wedding anniversary today, DH is working all day/weekend, his present hasn't arrived from the USA & I'm feeling a bit poo as it was this time last year we told everyone I was pg.

seven77 · 04/05/2012 13:11

Hello, sorry to hear about all of the sleepless nights and grumpy partners. I've been AWOL for aages, DH has been off work so we've been spending quality time with the DC's and he doesn't know how much time I spend MNing

Happy Anniversary AWCH!

Eva has taken to solids really well and is now having two proper meals a day. And we're all go with our flat auction, it's only 12 days away and open viewings started today, eek!

Hope everyone is ok and that I haven't missed anything important but I don't have time to catch up on 25 pages!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 04/05/2012 13:35

AWCH Thanks will look into that for Darcie.

I have been very spoilt by DP today. Breakfast out, new clothes & the new Iphone 4s in white Grin

Currently scanning photos into upload to my nans digital photo frame.

KateM77 · 04/05/2012 13:36

Just to redress the Cerazette balance, I've been on it for years due to menstrual migraines and have had no issues. I did however conceive DS on the one and only occasion we DTD in the month after I came off it, so will be very careful if I forget any pills or get ill!

Good luck at Chessington today Aethel. I worked there one summer. Job. From. Hell.

Rash as I suspected it was a relatively bad night here too last night. Although with just one wake-up at 3.30 I can't complain.

Very glad it's nearly the weekend. The DC's are exhausting me today. DS has refused to nap once again today. Off out to a friend's this afternoon so at least he'll have some sleep in the car each way she says hopefully. DH has just emailed to say he can leave work at 4.30 today too so will be home early for a change Grin

Kitty5824 · 04/05/2012 14:14

Yep, Ben & Jerry's is half price in Tesco. So I bought double!!

What to have for dinner tonight? Not used to having so much food in the house.

Too. much. choice.

Nap time, just going to feed Seb to sleep first :-)

Figgygal · 04/05/2012 14:55

It's official I hate pureeing!!

Those of you who are friends on Facebook will have seen my status update re: the state of my self and kitchen after attempting to purée veg it's everywhere!! I can't wait for him to be ready to do blw though I'm back to work in 7 weeks

CherryBlossom27 · 04/05/2012 15:30

Kitty yes I've been buying up Ben and Jerry's, sod the "mummy tummy" when there's ice cream to be had in my opinion!

Being nosy, is there a Facebook group for us dec 11 peeps?

LittleMissFlustered · 04/05/2012 15:55

There is, send EasilyBored a private message and she'll hopefully get you added:)

awch wow! There can not be toothed babies on the thread, time is going far too fast!

Weekend plans...yay for bank holidays!

Tate tomorrow for story telling related to the paintings.
Sunday, eat a roast and vegetate.
Monday, Tudor themed May day festival with the PIL.

CherryBlossom27 · 04/05/2012 16:26

Ok thanks LMF :)

MimsyBorogroves · 04/05/2012 16:40

Boo to all of the late nights and grumpy babies.

I'm mightily peed off. Took Sprog to HV 10 days ago (and saw a staff nurse) because I thought he had thrush. She assured me it wasn't, and that the "weird white gunge" would disappear. It hasn't. Took him back today, and "oooh, that's definitely thrush".

I also feel really sick and flu-ey.

OiMissus · 04/05/2012 17:23

Boo to periods msb, but hurrah for the Tate, that sounds really good.

We also love games over here, can I admit so spending most of our Winter in Wales cottage honeymoon playing Yahtzee? :D

A tooth? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Tyel - very jealous of your holiday! 27 degrees sounds particularly nice.
Hello again seven, welcome back.
I took today off work as i felt awful last night and this morning. Don't feel so bad now, apart from the dripping nose. Ali's nose is the same. :(

I am now an administrator on the facebook page, so friend me (Vanessa Ashworth) and I'll find out how to invite you.

We've no plans for the weekend yet. We're helping friends move house on Monday, but that it.
Why did someone have to mention McD's?! i really fancy a durty burger now!
