DP actually complained about DS's sleep last night- after his dream feed he went through til 6! Why, why is he complaining about the best night's sleep ever?! We've had a couple of good nights in a row here too- really hope I get one when I do the night shift at the weekend.

For complicated reasons mainly DP being a tit and coming down half an hour late I'm not going to get my dinner til late tonight, and am ravenous.

Oi- I do not know what has happened to me since I became a parent. I've always had a soft side, but now- oh God! I cannot watch, hear or read anything that's even mildly about children being in some way not totally adored and cared for even the beginning of the sodding Star Trek film as mentioned without being a blubbering heap.

Not only this, but has anyone found their broodiness increased after having children? Before, I was not broody- I knew I wanted children, but not broody. Now I envy pregnant women, and have to stop myself picking up all the children I'm oggling Blush

We're getting a bit more hair too mopsy, tis exciting!

Hurrah for your LOs HLC and LMF - let us hope that this is the start of something good... Smile And yay for the shoes too, I spend a lot of time in Clarks shoes as I walk everywhere, and they really last.

Hope Freya's OK MissRee. I agree, the clinics are a nightmare- I always wear layers so I can peel off, but several times I've come home (being frank) slightly whiffy as I've had to wait so long in the roasting heat.

Off to a party tomorrow night, just tried on my dress and it fits fine, even after the odd decade! Bit tight around the bf'ing boobs, though after a glass of wine I won't notice Grin.
(Just realised that sounds awful and would like it noted that DS will not be getting vino-via-mother for his dreamfeed!)

KateM77 · 03/05/2012 20:37

Oi in case you hadn't worked it out from my highly inventive nickname, it's me that's friended you on FB. Can I join the top secret group please? Smile

KateM77 · 03/05/2012 20:40

I cried at Desperate Housewives last night Blush I blame the children!

Rashkakeller · 03/05/2012 21:06

Talking of Facebook, that timeline thingy doesn't seem to let you leave a message when friending people! But thanks for adding me, Oi and not mistaking me for a weird stalker

I'm another with heightened emotions since having kids! And more broody. Dp says we are only having 2 but as I got pregnant with ds on Cerazette and only found out at over 12 weeks (when we officially started trying!) then he is a bit nervous haha

OiMissus · 03/05/2012 21:33

I've sent EasilyBored a msg to add you Kate. I think I have to be Admin to invite you. So, Rashka, which one/who are you? I can't keep up. Blush
My cold has turned into a damned annoying tickly cough. I'm going to keep us all up all night. Sad

Figgygal · 03/05/2012 21:35

Cherry im off to rhyme time at library tomorrow too you dont live in bristol do you?

I have to say im not broody at all but i do cry at anything though i always did, i once cried at Armageddon so much when i stood up at the end i fell over.

I have had an utterly disgraceful day today diet wise I've lived on milk bottle sweeties and toast!!!! I must start the diet back to work in 7 weeks and none of my suits fit. Sad

GeeandTee · 03/05/2012 21:37

I am so glad I told my GP I didn't want cerazette! Think lmf got pregnant on it too.

DD has very runny nose today but it is clear and watery at the moment. Really hope it doesn't mess up the sleeping!

NorthernChinchilla · 03/05/2012 22:05

NOOOOOO! Don't! I'm on Cerazette!
I just told DP that two people on the thread got preggers whilst on it- his face was a picture Grin. I remember LMF saying that; anyone else in the same boat to make me run out and buy a test cos I'm emotional, tired, and have no period a bit worried?

And figgy...how? How did you fall over from crying at Armageddon?

Xiaoxiong · 03/05/2012 22:36

Just a quick drop in to say the last 10 days have been a steady downward progression through the various circles of sleep deprivation hell. Last night was the worst so far - woke every hour. Tonight we went to bed together at 8pm and it's not looking much better. And somewhere along the line DH has, using the fact that he is working full time as his justification, checked out of helping me at all after 9pm and has started sleeping in the spare room to get a good night's sleep. I want to kill him. And possibly myself too. I'm mostly annoyed that he is doing his usual addictive personality thing and thrown himself 100% into his new running regime - he began exercising at my suggestion when he was horrified at his weight when we got back from the States so I guess i now have only myself to blame that he goes running every day and hasn't done any tidying, washing, changed the sheets etc in weeks. I feel a pull-your-weight explosion building and I hate it - why am I in the position of nagging harridan all the time.

Anyway I figured the weeks of grim winter weather weren't helping so today I booked tickets for me and Pirran to fly to Andalusia for 5 days - we are off on Monday afternoon from gatwick. I hope it will all be easier to bear somewhere where the sky is blue and it's 27c...

LittleMissFlustered · 03/05/2012 22:36

Yup, me and cerazette aren't on speaking terms >_<

Having trouble sleeping tonight and I've woken the octopus with all my shuffling about:( Suspect it will be a bad night from here on out:/

Cross-post Tyel

Hope the break does you good and that things seem brighter soon:)

No directions needed for these...

Hee hee- cerazette is usually quite reliable: it's better than the other progesterone only pills (minipills) cos it works just a well in ladies over 70kgs (the other POPs tend to fail more in these ladies). It's a newer sprt of POP and actually suppresses ovulation in some people (so periods stop). Downer is that if you stop taking it or miss pills it can stop being effective without you realising. Most pill failures are due to either forgetting, or being unwell which affects the pill absorption.

If you want super duper protection with very little failure chance then try what's called "double dutch": using two methods at once (so using pill&condoms or Mirena coil &condoms), or get an implant. It depends on how much of a disaster shock another pg would be IYSWIM?

I'm not hormonal, but I remember weeping like a good 'un when I saw "Philadelphia" for the first time when we were all pregnant....

LittleMissFlustered · 03/05/2012 22:48

I think I fell down at the 'ill' hurdle. I spent a lot of last spring feeling dire:/

As for hormones, I remember barking my eyes out at one of those programmes about Longleat. There were no deaths or baby animals involved >_

Cross-post tyel, oh no, that's sucky! Really hope DS settles himself into a new routine for you soon, it's an old wives tale that formula makes them go through, but it does fill up a little tummy for longer. I had a similar issue with my DD2 and gave her a 6oz formula bottle once a night at 7pm from about this age: she still woke two hourly in the later night but I got a 4 hour break after the bottle which kept me functioning....

LittleMissFlustered · 03/05/2012 22:49

Barking?! Bawling!

OP posts:
Rashkakeller · 03/05/2012 23:09

My cerazette failure was tummy bug related, I believe! I'm back on it though because I still haven't got round to arranging an implant.

Tyel, sounds tough :( Im sure your break will do you the world of good, this weather does nothing to lift your spirits. Sorry your dh is being a numpty.

Oi, I'm Debra! Could you add me to your message to Easily at all? I pm'd her but she doesn't know me because she doesn't post very often Confused

Urk, I have the dreaded tickly cough too, so many bugs about!

Rashkakeller · 03/05/2012 23:11

Northern, I'm sure your pill will work for you but if you get ill, then def use a back up unless you're ready for another baba!

hawthers · 04/05/2012 01:07

tyel my total sympathies. F just woken for his first feed of the night having had nearly 7oz of high cal milk at 8pm. Complete evidence of formula not increasing the likelihood of more sleep. One night in every 4 is bearable with only one wake up but last night there were 3 and tonight is bearing up to be a corker.

Also managed to have a quick argument with DH before he decamped to the spare room as to whether I thought it was his fault that f woke up. Apparently I don't know is not the correct answer and for the record I do think he woke f up with his huffing and shuffling in bed

hawthers · 04/05/2012 01:10

And v Envy of some Spanish sun. I get to pack for my three boys and then spend upwards of 6 hours driving up the m1 for a cold week at mil's. She is a mother of four though so has total sympathy for where I'm at so I should actually get a break.

LittleMissFlustered · 04/05/2012 04:17

Just emptied the washing machine and pruned the tumbler ready for morning. Now feeding again as apparently one boob wasn't enough:/

Hope isjust awake. Can i just shout on here go to sleep baby. Zombie

aethelfleda · 04/05/2012 05:26

Dh persuaded me to play a (very cool) card game last night (we both like geek boardgames). He talked me into a second round, and so got to bed late (plus DD1 took forever to get to sleep). So he got his fun game and a good nights rest, I got tired and from 11-2 asleep, then 2.30-5. Feeding. Again now, will be knackered in morning. He'd better not be cheerful and hd better provide tea in a gallon jug.....
