and no A+ for me today. I have my blinds: check. I have my new mini fridge: check... but I've forgotten my pump parts again! I have the pump, but not the attachments. I put them in the bag last night... I must have put them in BOi's bag by mistake. Grrrr!!! he'll have to have formula tomorrow. :(
I'll pick some up on the way home.
Maybe I'll make some ruity mush for him. If I get apples, which are best? Personally, I like Granny smiths, but I bet there are easier ones to mush, n'est-ce pas?

Rashkakeller · 02/05/2012 15:05

Sounds fabulous, Oi! I've always wanted to go to Canada but will have to wait until the kids are older, I guess. For now, it's holidaying in the UK, cheap and cheerful holidays abroad less than 4 hours flight away and our promised trip to Orlando when the kids are old enough to enjoy it properly!

I think golden delicious might mush better but as you're peeling them anyway, I'm sure granny smiths would work. They can be a bit tart though so BOi might not be keen!

MimsyBorogroves · 02/05/2012 15:32

Rash - I'm addicted to the logo quiz too.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 02/05/2012 16:40

My sweet potato & chocolate cake went down a treat Smile

OiMissus · 02/05/2012 16:44

We did Orlando a couple of years ago (latched onto a tradeshow so I went for free!), we stayed at the Loews Royal pacific Resort at Universal Studios (with Virgin). We wanted to do Universal rather than Disney. Heartily recommend staying on site as even though it didn't get us into Universal for free, once we'd got our tickets, our room keys doubled as fast-track entry for all the rides. Yipppeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think we spent the equivalent of 2 days on the Simpsons ride alone. (and we shaved hours off the queue times)
As for holidays now, I think we'll be staying within driveable distances. (saw interesting farm holidays in tent-like structures in the mumsnet partner deals thingy - they look nice, sent for brochure, but I doubt we'll holiday this year if when we're moving house.

NorthernChinchilla · 02/05/2012 19:57

We've had two holidays in the nine years we've been together- I dragged us off to Bruges for a long weekend when I was 5 months pregnant as I was determined that we'd get another in before DS arrived!

DS technically slept through last night- down at 7.30, dream feed at 10.45, then woke for a feed around 5, and then back to sleep. Not Envy of DP at all, oh noooo. I'd definitely up his bottle again figgy- if your DS has always been big, then he's going to remain big, and the HV is just talking out of her hat.

That happened to me last weekend Rashka, when we were out in Pizza Express- DS pulled off just as the flow really kicked in, and the spurt went vertically as he had his nose in the way Blush! Hope you're feeling a bit better. And yup, the muslin is just pointless Kate, as is trying to wrap my cardie round, turning away from the noise, etc...

I did that HLC - there was nowhere the Moses could be without it being noisy, as the house is all through on the bottom floor, so that's why I started putting him down upstairs. I'd keep at it though, you may find eventually he gets better sleeps if it's quiet.

How're you feeling now MissRee? Is your DP looking after you?

It's birthday central round here, again- one month last year we had DP's Mum's 70th on the 10th, my Dad's 60th the following day(!) my birthday four days later and then one of my oldest friend's wedding seven days after that! Now we've got a close friend/colleague's 60th party on Friday, DP sister's 40th on the Thursday, and then his birthday 10 days later Confused!

Figgygal · 02/05/2012 20:12

Right he's had 6 bottles today, apple and porridge and has had about 15 mins sleep since 2 this afternoon so am hopeful he will stay down tonight.

I'd love a holiday but don't see the point when he is this young think it would be more of a chore with All his kit. Thinking devon and a week in scotland at home with parents this year will be extent of it. My bro, sil, niece, parents and sil parents are going to Florida next yeAr I want to go but dh doesn't - he doesn't like Disney (??), Sil or America (in no particular order). I'm proposing on going without him as didn't holiday last year either due to bump and so will I expect be gagging for a holiday. He has 3 weekends and a week away planned this year bird watching so he has little ammunition to stop me.

AWomanCalledHorse · 02/05/2012 20:26

Dropping in.
Rash, my friend is playing the logo quiz and needed my help getting all the vair posh logos

DSM, sounds..interesting! Could you taste the sweet potato or was it more for texture?

Mimsy, a late hello..I've not seen you around before (unless you're a nnchanger?) as I'm terrible at keeping up with this thread, love your name!

Oi, oooh good luck with 3 nights away, would LOVE to see Toronto! We've done 1 night away from him (a few times) and I miss the screaming little poo bucket.
Can you heat up Pink Lady apples? They're my favourite, green apples are all too tart for me.

Figgy, I know someone who took their 2 month old (pfb) to Disney Land then to Lapland a month later. WTAF?!
I suggest you go to Florida, give DH & DS time alone together, esp. with all his planned time away.

We're still ttc, no joy...right, going to read this entire thread now (Bob help you all if there is a new thread by the time I've finished)!

LittleMissFlustered · 02/05/2012 20:35

Today I mostly drank coffee. Tomorrow I plan to do housework:/

Hope everyone has a nice evening. I'm off to bed with Octoboy, seems like its been a long week already.

aethelfleda · 02/05/2012 20:57

Hi AWCH, good to see you!

I have an unexpected mini-holiday with the girls as it's polling day, inset day, then bank holiday all in a row. W00t!

Ahem. Sorry for brief geek-speak, won't happen again.

In other holiday news, MIL (who's lovely) wanted us to go to Canada. In August. Bad timing, complicated as I'd be flying alone with the three toget out there. In short, not gonna happen. dH suggested we look into a short break in a self catering cottage: we usually camp but obviously self catering would be easier. Except he wants us to do it end of August and the prices are Shock about £600+ for a week, and that's for the smallest ones. Not sure it's going to happen as that will eat into the moving house fund!

NorthernChinchilla · 02/05/2012 21:19

Hello AWCH, good to see you!

Gosh, 5 days aethel, am jealous...

Figgygal · 02/05/2012 21:48

Darn hes just woken but gone back to sleep with a cuddle my hopefulness of a good nights sleep has gone out the window. Off to bed to try get ahead of him.

Hi AWCH - ttc again wow you are a brave woman!!

aethelfleda · 02/05/2012 21:51

Well, northern, we won't be doing that much exotic with it as DH says he can only get Friday off work. So tomorrow will probably be a lazy morning and then Gardening or go out to park if it's good or bowling if it's wet. friday we are planning a Chessington excursion with DH. saturday will be an antique steam fair visit (Carters tours all around South East and it's FAB) Sunday is collapse in heap day and visit SIL and bro's new house and then Monday who knows! DDs are happy about it anyway.
Right, bedtime for me. See you all later

OiMissus · 02/05/2012 22:29

Great to hear from you awch!
Are you bf? (I can't remember) I am, and have not had a period yet (sorry, should I say AF? I'm not v good at acronyms). Anyway good luck "ttc". Grin get me!Grin
I want to, but I need to make myself invaluable at work again.
This thread does move fast. Are you on facebook? If so, find me Vanessa Ashworth, or contact EasilyBored, as we have a top secret club there too.
Who else have we not heard from for a while? joMouse, fairybayleaf,... must go to the stats thread.
Just watched "the duchess" on TiVo. My word, how different are feelings now we are mums?? At one point she is given the choice to never see her children again. The tears were POURING down my cheeks!
Another glass of White wine will sort me out. But now I'm watching "one born every minute". Grin
I wish us all an easy night and a great sleep. Xxx

scoobyd00 · 02/05/2012 23:01

Struggling to keep up with the thread as only really get chance to read in evenings. Still waking frequently for feeding plus DS1 wakes at least once. Still refusing a bottle,oi how long did it take for DS to give in? Currently trying a bottle every day with occasional oz being consumed. Not looking forward to this weekend as everyone away doing family stuff except me. If the weather's bad I'll be pulling my hair out.

Holidays- off to majorca end of may for 10 days. Flying with 2 will be fun but have GPs with me to help.

Feeding DS2 and DS1 just started to cry- bye!

Morning all! Off to nursery for minim

mopsytop · 03/05/2012 07:37

Gah I didn't press post! Off to nursery for minimopsy after a week off and I reeeeealllly don't want to leave her. Feel like I'm back at square one :(

In other mega exciting (for me!) news, she's starting to grow new hair-blond and fuzzy. She still has a dark brown mullet since she was born which hasn't fallen out but is just moving down her head as she gets bigger but now I think maybe she will be blond . But the main thing is she will no longer be a baldy-slash-mullet head!!!

Well done on the good sleeps yay! And sympathies for those still struggling :(

GeeandTee · 03/05/2012 07:52

Settled DD at 3, gave up at 3.30 and fed her but only one side (usually do both), settled again at 5 and 5.30 (wind) then woke up at 7. Not too bad. Still feel mega tired as always though.

Been raining heavily all night here. Not much planned today other than sainsburys, and might give DS his lunch in the cafe there as a treat. Hopefully I can feed DD without her being too distracted.
