Oh bugger, that was it, we need to get him a high chair! Had forgotten Blush.

Have you got the blinds and everything sorted for you now Oi? Hope it feels a bit better if so. I had to laugh when I remembered the bf advisor telling me to picture his face, and his little hands touching the breast to help stimulate production, etc... I try not to think of his windmilling arms thumping me in the chest and just take the paper in with me instead- helps the time pass really quickly!

I'm a fan of Roy DSM, I think he's great. Seeing him conduct an interview in fluent Norwegian was something else.

Finishing watching Terminator film tonight, the last one with Christian Bale.

hawthers · 01/05/2012 22:07

Right I'm off to bedfordshire. Hmm wonder how long I'll get. Will check in with the night shift later

hawthers · 02/05/2012 04:05

What happened? Did I break the thread?

Thank the lord f has only just woken for a feed so I've managed to get nearly 6 hours sleep already and in a row too! That is more sleep than the last two nights put together. Hope the quietness means we're all getting some rest.

GeeandTee · 02/05/2012 04:43

No sleeping through here :( had to settle DD at 9, 12.30 and 3.30 and just given in and given her a feed but think will just do one side rather than the usual two. Will be nicely lopsided in the morning though!

GeeandTee · 02/05/2012 05:31

Hmmm apparently one side was not enough. She then gulped a load of air so am endlessly winding again. Nrrrrrrggggg.

aethelfleda · 02/05/2012 06:53

I got a good break from DS (9 til 4: woohoo!) though he then fed at 4,5,6, and is back on boob now again. I will probably feel better when caffeinated, but it's daft not to feel happy and bouncy after a good block of sleep. May have a cold coming...

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 02/05/2012 07:03

Sky blessed me with 8:30 - 1:30, feed then woke about half hr ago. even tho got good stretches of sleep, I feel so tired still Sad

Weaning class today - will get the results of my cake later lol

MimsyBorogroves · 02/05/2012 08:10

I've just had the best night since Sprog was born! He fed at 10pm, then nothing until 4am - then up at 7.45. I'm in shock!

Figgygal · 02/05/2012 08:15

4th night up in a row and 2nd with 2 stops 11.45 and 5.15 after him sleeping through since 8 weeks and having not had 2 wake ups a night since before that it's killing me Sad. He seems to be hungry though as he won't settle without food and then inhales 7oz bottles before going straight back to sleep. Does this mean he's hungry/growth spurt rather than sleep regression? I had dropped his bottles by an oz a couple weeks ago after the hv warned me about his weight but Sod it they going back up today and I'm finally pureeing stuff. He has been getting porridge and fruit mush but think its time to get the veg out. Didn't have plans today anyway thank god

Rashkakeller · 02/05/2012 08:43

Figgy, definitely sounds like food to me, ds is the same when he wakes at night - literally feeds for say, 20 mins tops then goes back down no probs. If it were something else, surely they wouldn't go back down? I personally wouldn't worry about weight too much at this stage (unless it was extreme gain or loss) because he'll lose it once he gets mobile - how can a baby overfeed?

Ds treated me to a 3rd sleep through in a row despite being snotty and coughy - I haven't done anything different and not weaning so who knows why but I'm certainly appreciating it!

Talking about distracted babies when feeding in public/anywhere, my favourite is when ds just gets the flow to full pelt then decides to look around. The resulting arching stream of milk through the air is not embarrassing in the slightest, no...

msbuggywinkle · 02/05/2012 08:46

Morning!

Miri has been doing 7pm to 6.30am (the universe is still rewarding me for putting up with DD1's awful sleep!). She occasionally has a quick feed when I am going to bed, but doesn't wake for it.

Plans for today?

Nothing exciting here, washing, waving educational materials at small girls, figuring out what to cook for dinner that isn't pasta again.

OiMissus · 02/05/2012 08:50

We had 2 feeds last night. Feed at 10.30 bedtime, then woke at 1.30, and then at 5.15, so not bad at all. My alarm clock goes off at 5.45 so I just need to stretch him to get to 5.30 on a regular basis, and then eventually stop the 1.30 feed. Other fabulousness is that he slept in his crib all night. :)
In the evening he sleeps on the footmuff on his pram (I can't help calling him a baby on a stick now :) ), so last night we took him up in the footmuff and put it in the crib (open, so there's no fear of over heating, he's just lying on the cosiest comfiest quilt. Very jealous.) So even when he had been fed, he settled happily in his crib again.
And yes, he likes to pull back - in public - when I'm in full flow.Blush

Rashkakeller · 02/05/2012 08:53

I have the lurgy (thanks kids) so a day at home methinks.

Got 10 tonne of washing to do and various household chores to do so tres exciting here...

And we're having pasta tonight!

OiMissus · 02/05/2012 09:10

I'll be working, nipping out to Argos at lunch to buy a little fridge for milk storage in the office :), then working.
I'll pick BOi up from my mum's tonight and then have exclusive cuddles as DH is staying in Lutterworth tonight. Although I may stay at mum's for tea...
The new blinds in my office are lovely. You know, I haven't done a thing with the office since I started here 8 years ago, maybe a twizz around and tidy up is in order... some new pics... some fancy branded stuff...
The whole Altrincham office is awful. All our other global locations are lovely, and have the new branding, and look great. It's shameful that the Global marketing wotsit (me) works in this pit with branded stuff from the 1970's. Hmmm... time for some changes...
I'm not really a wotsit (puffy orange thing, there's no false tan here, don't have the time), my real title is VP Marketing - ('Merican CEO) - very silly. :)

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 02/05/2012 09:19

Best get cracking with my housework: I feel like i'm being slatternly Shock

Not sure what to do for dinner tonight - although I feel like toad in the hole for some reason.

Weaning class this afternoon, am going to take my Sweet Potato & Choc cake in and will let you know the responses!

KateM77 · 02/05/2012 09:32

Well, after getting through the day on just one 50min nap yesterday, DS slept 7.40-7.10!!! Shame I was wide awake with giant boobs from when DH's alarm went off at 5.45, but can't complain at all at a solid 7 hours sleep. I don't think for an instant that the sleeping through will last - if DS has slept for long stretches in the past it only lasts 3 days and then it's all change again - but I will enjoy it for now.

Northern yes, I've tried the muslin over his head too, and it just doesn't work

HoneyLovesCake · 02/05/2012 10:20

I couldn't sleep after 3am dream feed again. From a cosleeping point of view he's doing brilliantly so far this week...still feeding frequently but not waking at all; if only I could get back to sleep :(

I'm going to try & put him upstairs for his naps today as he's become very noise sensitive lately & I'm fed up of tiptoeing around...I suppose earplugs are a no no Grin

I'm on hold to hmrc & getting fed up so maybe one of you can answer; do you include Maternity Allowance with your earnings if you're self-employed. I think SMP is taxable but not MA; is that right? I'm being very organised this year & filling in my tax return now.

OiMissus · 02/05/2012 10:39

Just booked flights to a meeting in Canada. 3 nights without my BOi in June... :(
That will be a test!

HoneyLovesCake · 02/05/2012 10:42

Ignore the tax question...they picked up eventually.

Morning nap is not happening; he woke as I put him down I have left him there while I make myself a Brew. Maybe he will fall asleep on his own...not bloody likely though as I can hear him babbling away. My arms ache too much to even attempt rocking him, he's so heavy now!

MissRee · 02/05/2012 11:49

Sorry for mememe post but I haven't had a chance to catch up.

Still feeling like death warmed up cooled down. Lost 6lb overnight. I don't know whether to "woo" or cry Sad I have pepto bismol now, please bob let it work!!!!

HoneyLovesCake · 02/05/2012 11:53

Oh dear MissRee that sounds awful; hope you're able to get lots of rest. I know it's wrong but I'm the timiest bit Envy of the 6lbs weight loss though Blush

MissRee · 02/05/2012 11:56

At least now I'm back down to pre-preg weight Hmm Freya is being an angel today thankfully so we're resting up.

Rashkakeller · 02/05/2012 12:04

Get well soon, MissRee - I'd woo at the weightloss, if you're going to be ill, might as well have a nice side effect! I had food poisoning once, had to go to hospital for injections to stop me being sick - weightloss = 0 (grr)

Oi, do you get to enjoy the sights in Canada or is it purely work? I'd wibble at leaving ds too!

I'm addicted to a new app - logo quiz. Glad to see im using my mat leave wisely haha

I'm not on the thread fb page but if any of you facebookers would like to add me, I'm Debra Roberts on there (because that's my name, obviously) ;0)

OiMissus · 02/05/2012 14:27

rashka I've been to our office there a few times now, but each time we've flown from the US office (nr Atlanta), to Buffalo, and travelled by car through Niagara to go into Canada (loads cheaper to fly within the US). I thought Niagara falls to be a bit rubbish, Niagara the town looks awful so we bypass it and go to Niagara on the Lake, a very pretty town, and visit the vineyards. :) Last time we went to one of the vineyard's restaurants and did their FABULOUS tasting menu. Oh my Bob was it amazing.
This time, we're going direct, so I'll see Toronto. Pre-BOi I might have added a few days to see more, but no more - however, we'll be going into the city on one evening and - I think - having dinner in the SkyTower, and the meeting ends at 2 on the last day, and we don't fly out until 11.30pm, so I hope we'll travel into the city a have a quick wee looky around. (I'm sure our canadian colleagues will either tell us where to go what to see, if not be great hosts and take us around. :)
(Flights are about £500 return direct from Manc!)

OiMissus · 02/05/2012 14:29

Oh - get well soon MissRee, and I agree if you're going to suffer it's nice to have something to show for it. Weightloss is the best.
Talking business trips, after my first visit to India I got an horrendous case of Delhi belly on the flight home and it lasted for quite a few weeks after, and even though I felt like I had rid myself of all my internal organs I had not lost an ounce.
