He likes his hair collar length with a fringe, basically a pageboy. She's layered it and left the back very long. She's also ignored his natural parting/calf-luck and cut it with the parting in the other side. It looks vile:(

LittleMissFlustered · 29/02/2012 18:29

In more cheerful news I ordered some of those necker/bib things today.

It's just hit me that I'm feeling very crap, but have been too busy to dwell on it. I am going to go to bed early to stop me thinking too much.

KateM77 · 29/02/2012 19:10

We're on feed number 9 of the day now Sad Even swimming didn't settle him for long. The only way I've coped this evening is because my Mum came over to help, so we kept DS relatively calm whilst doing bath, stories, milk and bed for DD between us. The worst part of it is that he had calmed down a bit on the feeding over the last couple of weeks, which is why I'm really hoping it's a growth spurt. Don't know what I'll do if this continues tonight. DH pissed me right off earlier on the phone when he asked me why it was making me so tired Angry

Sorry for moany 'me' post

AnAirOfHope · 29/02/2012 19:13

Today i have ordered online

KateM77 · 29/02/2012 20:00

and now me and DH have had a row, because he's just got home and told me that 'we' don't want to stop breastfeeding Angry

msbuggywinkle · 29/02/2012 20:05

Oops...ordered DD2 an extra birthday present...purple scooter!

oi good that the poo is forthcoming!

lmf noooo! Hope you find somewhere to get it sorted. I do the MN haircut on DD1 who hates hairdressers.

air you have been very productive!

Miri is asleep for the night, just waiting on the others, then going to start on the Torchwood box set. Going out on Saturday, a friend's birthday meal at her house. The big DDs are going to sleep there and we'll stuff them in car seats to come home, they will entertain her DD so we can drink Wine

msbuggywinkle · 29/02/2012 20:06

LittleMissFlustered · 29/02/2012 20:20

Kate I have a spare swordfish if you need it...

Off to bed. With a tube of lansinoh.

Enjoy Janto Torchwood msb :o

aethelfleda · 29/02/2012 20:23

Hey misree, surely it's faulty so they should give you a replacement? Or do they weasel out of that if it can be "repaired?" If they don't sort it out PDQ (a month is too long when you have a newborn!) I think you should try the immortal words "gimme a replacement please or I'm calling Watchdoc and transferring my custom to John lewis"...

aethelfleda · 29/02/2012 20:37

And (((hugs))) and sympathy kate, I really don't think the guys understand quite how much we go through to do the feeding. It's your decision no matter how "involved" DH is: and he needs to respect that.

Today we mostly made costumes for school (World flipping book day tomorrow): sewing headress for Dd1 out of an old skirt and a pair of deely boppers so that she can be the witch from sleeping beauty, and constructing a picnic kit for DD2 to be the baby near from whatever next (complete with colander helmet and cardboard box)
I must confess I have no idea how many feeds DS racks up in a day but am pretty sure it's in double figures: after the usual evening grump DS has now conked a bit early so am torn between going to bed early and waiting up for my DH who's home (late) in 10 mins and will no doubt be wanting dinner prepared...

Coolhand · 29/02/2012 21:01

LMF sorry to hear you're not feeling so good. Go to bed and look after yourself.

Sending another haddock your way Kate!

On the nails front, Luke is always scratching himself - I've tried clippers, baby nail scissors and biting all with limited success - he is such a squirmer!

Just caught up on a couple of days' posts - can't remember who asked if drugs are involved in the sleeping through the night but the answer is no here - Luke has never had Calpol! He currently sleeps 7pm - 5am so has back tracked slightly but still, it's wonderful! If it makes people feel better he is much harder work in the day. I was stunned at Oi's description of baby falling asleep on playmat - he never falls asleep during the day without a full scale screaming match - he really fights it and never has a prolonged day time sleep unless it involves the car seat! He also hates the sling (he's a real wriggler) and demands to be entertained/carried quite a lot! I used to be able to put him in his chair and chat/sing while doing dishes or preparing dinner - now he'll sit for a few minutes and scream loudly to demand the next activity! He's fine in a buggy so long as you keep moving but queues do not work. So basically, he's a dream at night but demanding in the day and has a very low boredom threshold! Any ideas or tips would be appreciated! He's just a very active little boy who looks like he wants to be running before he's crawling!

Wishing good nights to everyone!

MissRee · 29/02/2012 22:01

Aethel They gave me a "courtesy" buggy which is a stroller and in no way even similar to what I have Sad they did say they could ring around other stores to see if they had one the same as mine that I could use instead. By this point though after spending over an hour in the shop whilst they faffed around sorted paperwork and dug up fetched the temp buggy, Freya was screaming for a feed and I just wanted to go home!

If I don't have my buggy back within the 4 weeks or if it comes back and I'm still not happy, I will be demanding a refund and going elsewhere!

Hugemongous haddock for your DH Kate! Do what you feel is right.

Speaking of haircuts, DP had a huge row with his ex wife at the weekend after we dropped DSS off as we dared to get his hair cut without her permission Hmm. She made such a fuss of screaming and shouting down the phone at DP that DSS got massively upset and cried but apparently that's all DP's fault too Confused the woman is a nutjob I tells ya Grin

MissRee · 29/02/2012 22:05

Coolhand Freya is the same on the boredom front. The only thing I've found that keeps her attention for more than 10 minutes is Baby TV unfortunately. My justification that it's mildly educational as well as entertaining for them is not really convincing me to stop feeling guilty about plonking her in front of the telly to get things done! It is cute to see her waving her arms and kicking her legs excitedly though.

AWomanCalledHorse · 29/02/2012 22:19

Kate, would he like the chance to feed DS? My DH got really excited (DS was mixed fed before I gave up bf) about being able to 'do' something with DS.
Your DS has had far more breast milk than any baby I've known & you've done fantastically with it! Hope it gets easier for you asap...and that your DH doesn't mind getting woken up with a massive haddock to the face. Grin

MissRee, gah! How irritating for you!!!

When should I stop watching 15+ stuff with DS? All this talk of baby tv makes me feel guilty for watching Friday the 13th with him!

Feeling slightly less depressed today, seeing HV tomorrow to find out what she reccommends for DS feeding problems. Although I finally had my emergency dentist apt at lunchtime and I still can't eat.

EasilyBored · 29/02/2012 22:32

Kate, tell your dh that if he's so set on breast feeding, he can give it a go himself! You have to do what's best for you.

Oi, is it weird to say I'm glad he had a poo? Am v jealous of the cookies!

Boo to broken prams! Mothercare are a bit shit in general.

Husband been away with work till 9 tonight, and has to leave at 5 tomorrow so I'm doing the whole night shift. I'm mentally exhausted after being with squeaker, who has decided he wants to be held upright constantly, all day. Not looking forward to it.

We are now donebreastfeeding. I was down to two feeds a day, and today I'd just had enough. I'm a little bit sad, but can't wait to get back into normal bras and tops without those stupid clips. Now I justneed my milk to dry upas my boobs are killing me!

BeeMyBaby · 29/02/2012 22:38

As for fingernails - I use baby clippers, or used to until DH said that I wasn't allowed to after I clipped off the tip of DD2s thumb last month - she didn't cry at the time and I didn't notice the little red scab till the next day.

We had DD2s 2nd jabs today and although I missed my appointment by an hour and a half, they didn't mind and she followed it with a 5 hour sleep. Good times :)

aethelfleda · 29/02/2012 22:50

Ok, let's try that going-to-bed thing again, shall we??

LittleMissFlustered · 01/03/2012 00:11

MissRee I have to say that if either of my other two came back from time with their dad with new hair I would be apoplectic. It's outside of the boundaries of what he 'does' and I would find it very intrusive into our lives to take that step. It sounds odd, but maybe she just assumes your other half was 'trespassing' on her watch?

aethel I've heard tell of a mythical beast called sleep that dwells in the land of bed...

LittleMissFlustered · 01/03/2012 00:43

Adding that I'd not phone up and make like a banshee, but I'd make it known that stuff like hair doesn't fll into his weekly parenting duties:)

Hello those on nightshift! I jus woke up from horrible nightmare ugh. Didn't love going downstairs in the dark to get a bottle. Urrgh. Minimopsy back to half three feed. Finding it SO hard to wake up these days. Some nights my husband has to nudge me awake as I sleep through her cues. Wonder why so much more tired this week.

My period returned yesterday, alas :( maybe that's why. Always get really heavy, painful periods that last a week. Hoped pregnancy would prove things in that respect but so far it hasn't. It was fine putting my mooncup in but hurt a LOT to take it out so I had to use a tampon instead (sorry if tmi!). Will maybe brave mooncup again tomo but scared of the pain. Of course you fold it up to put it in but not to take out. Ouch! Bloody stitches. It's been over ten weeks.
