Sympathy determined DD1 is like this sometimes.

I have one of those tiredness related headaches today. The creatures were working together. DD1 went to sleep at 11, DD2 woke up in the night and DD3 pooped at 6.30am!

Plan for the day...

Prop self up with caffeine and sugar.
Hoover.
Try not to fall asleep while standing up.

fusam · 28/02/2012 08:54

Sucks that I missed blue water. Hopefully can make the next meet up.

So sorry Determined I don't have any suggestions but wanted to say you are doing brilliantly.

Welcome Roxanne Envy at all the sleeping thru babies.

Got DDs eight week jab today (a week late), do they get sicky with this one? The house is in chaos at the moment with DD1's illness hoping she is well enough to go to nursery this afternoon, I am desperate to get some semblance of order.

AWomanCalledHorse · 28/02/2012 09:22

DH came home from work just now just to give me a hug because I phoned him in tears.
Struggling so much with DS...feels like my normal depression has kicked back in, hurrah.

fusam good luck today with jabs! DS has his 8wk jabs at 12 wks Hmm

msbuggy, hope you get through today awake!!

DSM, sorry Darcie is still acting up, hope things improve soon. x

mopsytop · 28/02/2012 09:44

dsm so sorry it's all so difficult with Darcies. You're coping so well!

Minimopsy is still put of sorts, screechy and warm although no actual temp but very warm nonetheless. She just hasnt been herself since her jabs last week.

Sequin1 · 28/02/2012 10:00

Morning everyone

Was night shifting as well last night, tried a dream feed last night, made no differenceSad. Thing is since she had tonsillitis is only taking about 4oz a feed so there is now way she will sleep
Through as not taking enough in the day Sad.

DSM ((hugs)) you are a great mum
[fusam] we have 12 week jabs today, E is 13 weeks but put it back a week after she was poorly.

[a woman called horse] i too am
Struggling however DP I think has got bored with my constant moaning.

Coffe and Biscuit for all those night shifters to keep you awake todaySmile

KateM77 · 28/02/2012 10:12

DSM sorry you're having such a hard time with Darcie at the moment. You're doing amazingly. Hope it gets resolved soon.

fusam their reactions to 8 week jabs are very variable. DD had no reaction at all, DS was just a bit dopey. Some babies get a temperature and get very grumpy and unsettled. You'll just have to wait and see I'm afraid.

Several hooray's today:
One for AWCH's DH for the hug
One for Hawthers and Farley for the weight gain
and one for Oi for the dress, shoes and handbag Grin

Rough night here too. DS seems to be getting worse at sleeping at night, rather than better. At one point he woke, I looked at the clock and thought 1.30 was too early to be feeding again after a 9.30 feed, then I realised there was another 1 on the display and was only 11.30 Sad He then woke pretty much 2 hourly through the rest of the night. I may throw in the BF towel early if it carries on like this Sad

In other news my favourite pair of jeans are about to go through at the knee (that's what you get from crawling around on the floor with kids all the time!) which means I'll have to go jeans shopping. I find that soul destroying at the best of times, let alone when I'm still carrying an extra 10lbs of baby weight and sporting a hideous muffin top. The old ones were from topshop, but looking at their website pretty much all their stock is skinny jeans. I have hips. I need a bootcut! Oh, and I need a 34" inside leg too. Any ideas anyone?

NorthernChinchilla · 28/02/2012 11:26

Kate - I too cannot do/abide skinnies. I live in flares and bootcuts. On the High Street, I've found both Next and Dottie P's sometimes do good flares/bcs, and have a pair of each upstairs.

LO did half one, four and seven last night, and I have a horrible feeling that today is going to be one of his staying awake extravaganzas. He's falling asleep on the boob because he's tired, but therefore not taking in enough food nor falling asleep properly, and so the two occasions I've put him down he's come awake again..trying a third time now, but my friend is going to text any second about setting off to meet up.

So sorry everyone's had a crap night; the worst thing I find is that it makes life/OHs/other DCs so much harder to cope with...

Fusam, sequin AWCH and Determined (think that's everyone!) really hope you can make it next time. AWCH are you going to be OK if your depression's kicking in? Do you have a good GP (and/or midwife/HV) who understand your condition and can help? Glad your OH is being a star.

...and I can hear DS has woken again, sod it, but will ignore for a few minutes whilst I type.

Get well soon stellie, that's grim for you.

Right, off for lunch, please God the pram ride makes him sleep

seven77 · 28/02/2012 12:02

Sounds like everyone had a bad night, strong coffee all round. After sleeping through for the last few nights Eva woke up at 4, though I can't complain compared to what some of you are going through.

AWCH your DH sounds like a star.

DSM out of interest how was she for your parents at the weekend or does she always get her own way with them? What about at school? You're doing a great job, it can't be easy. Hope your appointment comes soon.

Tidying up here today and new washing machine being delivered this afternoon.

zambooloo · 28/02/2012 12:35

Hello Everyone,
Please can I join thread? I did post occasionally on anti-natal thread but have just been sort of lurking since then.
My first dd was born on 29th Dec. We are doing well - having some sleep issues but then I think we all seem to be!
Everyone sounds very friendly on here, looking forward to some sympathetic chats!

fusam · 28/02/2012 12:54

KateM77 have you tried gap for jeans? Their boyfriend cut and skinny bootleg are quite good for my grande curvy arse. My MIL commented once to DD when she had a reausable nappy on, 'oh look you have your mother's bum' Hmm. She is lovely really I think it was one of those did I say that moments and we looked at each other like Shock.

DD2 has had her jab and been sick twice on me already. Wonder why I bother showering some days....

HoneyLovesCake · 28/02/2012 13:17

Grrrr, I am illogically irritated. I just put DS down in his bouncer while I got myself ready for us to go out for a 3 mile walk...I need to go to the post office so I thought I may as well go the long coastal route & get some much needed exercise. He has fallen asleep He hasn't fallen asleep out of my arms in a month; any other day I'd be overjoyed. I should be happy but I'm just irritated & confused...do I wake him to go for the walk or let him sleep & have a bit of lunch now instead Confused

Welcome back zambooloo :)

Sod it, I'm having a sausage sarnie Grin Bet he wakes up the minute the grill goes on!

AnAirOfHope · 28/02/2012 13:34

I have cancelled Hope's jab today as she is still ill. So its next week now.

Everyone here still ill.

Bored of being ill now, Air was sick twice last night.

Sequin1 · 28/02/2012 13:39

Welcome zamboloo

kate also try oasis as they do stretchy jeans which I find flatter the my flabby thighs Grin

fusam hope DD feels better soon, we have our jabs this afternoon

I know how you feel airofhope we have had a sickly house for the last 3 weeks, bored bored bored of it. Best to postpone jabs we did the same

AnAirOfHope · 28/02/2012 13:50

I'm finding it hard to mumsnet cos i'm holding Hope and she keeps smiling in her sleep and its so cute its very distracting Grin

zambooloo · 28/02/2012 15:17

honey glad i'm not the only one who has a clingy baby! She won't sleep unless in my arms - lovely cuddles but can't get a thing done! How old is your little one?

Sorry to hear some of you are poorly!

NorthernChinchilla · 28/02/2012 15:24

Yeah, one of those days...

On the pram ride down he slept for about 15 minutes (after fighting it for the first 15), and then the ride back less than that, as he popped awake in the Post Office.
Since half bloody eight this morning.

Met friend for lunch, as then as the cafe didn't do any chocolate cake, we ended up wandering to Pizza Express to get some. We get seated in the window. Now, as DS has his favoured position, I just go ahead and put him in it- which is on his back, on the floor.

I know he's happy down there; there's no way anyone can tread on him as we're in a bay and not a thoroughfare; and it's warm.

'Course, to the rest of the world wandering by and looking in the floor to ceiling windows (not to mention the rest of the restaurant) I'm the worst type of yummy mummy that's plonked her child on the floor ffs!, not even in his pram, to have her coffee and cake undisturbed Confused

If I can't persuade him to sleep in the next hour or two, I'll put him in the sling and go for walkies; as he's currently on his play mat, I'm going to rush around and get some jobs done!

NorthernChinchilla · 28/02/2012 15:25

And hello zambooloo!

zambooloo · 28/02/2012 16:14

It's great that they have started to interact with stuff - dd now loves the fisher price rainforest bouncy chair. She is totally over excited by the lights and movements - her arms and legs keep going crazy, it's like she can't quite believe something could be so amazing and it means I can actually put her down awake and happy! I'm used to putting her down for the bare minimum of time and then just about managing to go to the toilet before all hell breaks loose!

So northern I'm glad your ds likes the play mat and lying on the floor happily - who cares what people might think!!

EasilyBored · 28/02/2012 16:14

Bought gripe water from boots. It comes with a little spoon. Yeah, that isn't going to work. Unless it mummy is supposed to wear the gripe water all over her jeans?

msbuggywinkle · 28/02/2012 16:14

Also bored of sickness...one or other of us has been sick for about three weeks solidly. DP was ill at the weekend, DD2 is coughing and snotty now.

I am still awake (just) sodding DP rang me to suggest a chippy tea, so now even though I have cheese sauce made for pasta I want fish and chips. Am doooooooooooomed to be the size of Buckingham palace a house forever!

northern ignore! Miri is the same, she likes being down in the middle of things when she is awake (opposite of the others) she even yells at me to put her down! Some babies just like looking around.

Hello zambooloo!

air I know the feeling, DD1 was getting cross with me earlier as I kept stopping reading to coo at Miri, who was laughing at me by my feet!

jigglebum · 28/02/2012 16:21

ahh this is the 3rd time I ve tried to post this and it seems to have got lost each time.

welcome zambooloo

sorry to hear of poorly babies and adults.

we had a bad night here too, after a miraculous 10-6 on sunday night too. Last night we were 10, 2, 4, 6 again - sigh. trouble is she has got into the habit of feeding a little and often and wont take more than 4ozs of her night tome bottle and can't get through the night on that. I feel like I am still feeding all the time, which is exhausting and I am thinking of giving up on bf ing soon as a result. just have to get over the guilt factor of switching to bottles.

I second gap jeans as being quite flattering and having a good choice. Next are cheaper though. I am back in most of my normal clothes but my stomach still needs a lot of work!

EasilyBored · 28/02/2012 16:48

Sorry for all the poorly peeps, hoping you all feel lots better soon!

northern as long as he's happy, sod what everyone else thinks.

Hi zambooloo!

Very jealous of the chippy tea mrsbuggy!

Went to baby cinema today, was really good. Squeaker was quite well behaved. Really enjoyed the film (the Marigold hotel one), would def recommend. Last time I went to the cinema, my waters broke that evening, so maybe squeaker is going to be an actor/director?! Or just a film buff.

plutocrap · 28/02/2012 17:46

Apologies in advance for a moany post: it;s been a very discouraging day. WHEn I picked DS up from preschool yesterday, he'd been refusing to sit nicely so they could open the door to the parents; lotsof tantrumsyesterday PM (his screeching prompting coinciding with DD's screeching). I therefire kept him off today, to givehim a chaceto catch yp on sleep, but it wasn't a nice day at all. I had to take him out of soft play for fighting (and noyt bthering to eart the food he had asked for). I was already stresssed because of the wrst thing, which was pranging the car in the car park (long car, big turning circle... ouch). We went on to a bodyworks, to get the first quote, anf after DShad run about amongst theshiny new cars in the showroom attached probably touching them with sticky hands , the man came out with a quote of £1698.75.

At least that included VAT....

Very demoralising.

plutocrap · 28/02/2012 17:47

Forgot to say, I've just had a measure of Baileys on ice, and must admit it has helped bit!

MissRee · 28/02/2012 18:00

Ouch plu not a good day. That baileys was well deserved, I'd say!

How much damage did you do? That sounds awfully expensive to me... I know places that would spray a whole car for that!!
