Oh plu, sympathies on the car damage, and to all with little tykes who are being awkward. ((hugs))
I've had a good day. I managed to shower, wash and dry hair, make up, feed LO, express other breast, dress and get out of the house by 8:30am.
I wore my Karen Millen dress, hold up stockings and stilletos and felt fab. Dropped LO off with a few bottles of expressed milk and everythingvhe needed for the day at the grandparents.
We interviewed 3 people. All great.
Colleagues said nice things about how slim I am/fab dress etc. Grin
Grandparents said LO was great.
Now home with LO asleep in my arms. Grin
But whilst he's no longer sicky with diarrhoea, yesterday he only did 2 small dry poops, and has not pooped since. Sad every so often he flails and cries so I guess he is constipated. (He usually poops with most feeds.)
Apart from bf and massage (if he'll let me), is there anything else you can recommend? I'm sure it'll right itself soon, but if I can ease things more quickly we'd all be happier.

MissRee · 28/02/2012 18:46

Will he take a bottle Oi? if so you could try some cooled boiled water?

KateM77 · 28/02/2012 19:12

Welcome zambooloo

Thanks to all for the jeans tips. I got some in Oasis in the end. As sequin said they hold in my flabby curvy thighs nicely. I have a pair of gap ones already and agree that they're good too. I tried on some 7 for all mankind ones in John Lewis too, just out of interest. They were fine but needed to be fabulous to justify the £165 price tag! £33 in Oasis will do me just fine thanks Grin

Sorry to hear about your crap day plu and pleased to hear yours went well Oi...until the lack of poo that is. Did you ever think you'd be complaining about DS not pooing?!

DD had a tantrum over a pair of socks this evening Confused

scoobyd00 · 28/02/2012 19:38

oi what a treat to get dressed up and go out. Sounds like you looked fabulous. I fit all my pre pregnancy clothes but don't wear the nice ones because I can't feed in them or they're not practical for baby sick, dog walking, toddler playing etc. DH and I have 2 nights away next week before he disappears for 3 months and I can't wait to wear normal clothes (grandparents are looking after DSs).

I can't remember who lived on the Norfolk/suffolk border (thread moves too quickly and can't scroll back) but I live near Dereham in the middle of no where, a good hour and a half away from east Suffolk.

Can I ask those of you who have more than one DC. How do you keep the older one in bed if they're wandering in the middle if the night! Currently DS 1 is up 3-4 times in the night and eventually I get bored of putting him back to bed and he ends up in bed with me. I have brought a gro clock but he's a little young to grasp the concept yet. Thought about a stair gate on the room but house is v small and his crying will wake DS 2. Any tips would be word hated as not getting much sleep at the moment!

plutocrap · 28/02/2012 19:43

It needs a new door, as I caught the edge of the door.

Extraordinary that something so expensive can happen at such low speed; I can't have been going ,mpre than 5mph, as I was turning onto a ramp in a multistorey car park.

At least it wasn't something which happened when I was onmy way back from Bluewater yesterday at 70mph! Shock That thought gives me involuntary pelvic floor exercise

(And, MissRee, if you could tell me of these places where you could get a car sprayed for that, I'd be very grateful!)

(Sorry, will catch p soon; I know there are some welcomes to do!)

plutocrap · 28/02/2012 19:54

Okay, I'm feeling slightly better now: look at this!

NorthernChinchilla · 28/02/2012 20:42

Oh that's a great thread Plu, I really enjoyed it. Must get round to reading the 'cutted up my pear' one too Grin. Really sorry to hear about the car, that's a bit of a nightmare; our neighbour was always doing similar going into the drive, and clipping the post. As you say, at snail-miles-per-hour, but in the end she took the post down...

Sounds like you kicked arse Oi, it must've been great to go off and just be your 'old' self for a bit, iykwim. I enjoyed going into work as well (getting the compliments is nice too I have to admit Blush) although I was in jeans, nowt as fabulous as your outfit! You sound like you need a cocktail to finish off a very fashionable day.
I feel like such an old fart being pleased with my new cardigan, but as scooby says, it's all about practicality for feeding!

Well, DS managed 50 mins in his cot this afternoon, and so that and the two 15 mins-ish in his pram have been it. It's a damn good thing he's happy being put down otherwise I would go crazy; he objected massively to the sling this evening, so he's just on his play mat at the moment.

Here's hoping we all get decent nights!

aethelfleda · 28/02/2012 20:59

Evening! Ever the optimist, I'm now trying to tank up DS while munching chili chocolate from Aldi (you may notice a theme on this thread involving me, Aldi and chocolate...) and a large Brew

DS was very sweet on his first encounter with his baby gym today, I'll post a pic if I can persuade it to upload. One of my friends (a zoologist) said that babies evolved smiling at x weeks purely in order to stop their sleep-deprived parents from deciding babies were just too much trouble to bother with and feeding them to the nearest wild animal....

Right, girls, roll up your sleeves for the nightshift and good luck!

aethelfleda · 28/02/2012 21:02

Here we go:

DS checking out the baby gym

seven77 · 28/02/2012 21:13

Aww aethel looks like he's having a great time.

Sorry to hear of all of those who can't shake off illness.

plu ouch, sounds like a very bad day.

DS has been whinging all day and DD has been a bit grizzly with teething, I can see two tiny teeth under her gum. It's not all bad though, DH came home with fish and chips and Sauvignon, and bought a whole side of salmon from the fish man who delivers to the pub for £7.50! And we've discovered that we have very cute baby fish in the fish tank.

I hate iPhone auto correct 'word hated' was supposed to be 'welcomed'.

aethelfleda · 28/02/2012 21:19

Wow seven, a for your DZh!

Sympathy plu: I once dinged someone's door in the work carpark, had a fit of concience and fessed up, it cost £650 to repair (this was 10years ago) as they had swanky metallic paint. The dent was tiny, but claiming for it would have upped me premiums so I just had to swallow and pay up...

One day, northern, your baby will nap. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow...

Sympathy about the tantrums kate and determined, my DDs will sometimes have the most enormous strops about the stooopidest things...

OiMissus · 28/02/2012 21:20

Did somebody say cocktail? Grin What a lovely idea.

LittleMissFlustered · 28/02/2012 21:28

Loathe to go to bed. I know that as soon as I go up he'll wake and want feeding:( I suspect I'm going to have to do the room shuffle sooner rather than later:(

AnAirOfHope · 28/02/2012 22:00

gerr Air went to sleep at 4pm and has not wake up let - i think he will wake at 3am and be up for the day then Angry

I hope DH is sleeping too as he is so getting up with son!

Being ill puts his sleep all out of order and it takes weeks to get him right again.

OiMissus · 28/02/2012 22:23

Love the baby gym photo. For those not in the Facebook group, I've uploaded a couple of photos of Alistair - showing off his glistening locks.
here Hope the link works - the photos are on my mumsnet profile page.

aethelfleda · 29/02/2012 01:35

.....

LittleMissFlustered · 29/02/2012 02:18
hawthers · 29/02/2012 02:51

Woken up with a large welt on my arm. Don't think it came from the hot water bottle I took to bed with me but can't see what else could have caused it. I couldn't have burned myself in my sleep could i? Surely I would have woken up if I had touched something that hot? Oww it hurts....

LittleMissFlustered · 29/02/2012 02:59

Could it be a pressure welt rather than a burn welt?

I have been piddled and yakked on so far this evening. I m hoping that octopi with my genes don't like hat tricks...

hawthers · 29/02/2012 03:22

Hmm it looks like there is a bite/blister in one end of it, how odd. I've been caught out by the peeing loads in the last couple of days including all over the floor at the baby clinic while ds1 exclaimed loudly "ds2's done a wee on the floor" repeatedly

LittleMissFlustered · 29/02/2012 03:27

Very bizarre. Could it be a midge bite? I fought my way through a cloud of them on the way to drop my daughter at cubs tonight:/

Pee went all over his swaddle blanket. Have had to improvise with a sheet>_

aethelfleda · 29/02/2012 03:32

Weird H, hope it's not too sore

. oh no, that's a type of cheese. Mmmm, cheese.
(wonder if she's up too?)

Xiaoxiong · 29/02/2012 03:47

Mmm yarg. We had a wheel of yarg as one of the layers on our wedding cake of cheese. God that was a brilliant decision if I do say so myself - we were eating the leftover delicious cheese for ages afterwards.
Bleurgh - 3.45am and I have been feeding on and off for an hour - DS is farting about (literally) and not going the fuck to sleep!!! And DH is snoring peacefully beside us...Envy

mopsytop · 29/02/2012 05:25

Bummer about the car plu.

aethel, that pic of your son is Too.Cute. !!!!

Can't get into your pic Oi, it brings me to a 'change registration' page. Weird.

hawthers, could it be a spider bite? (spiders DO bite sometimes in Britain, they're just not poisonous but you could be a bit allergic?).

Minimopsy went midnight to five instead of half three. Maybe she will slowly go longer until she goes through. 5 hours on a row is still a big improvement!! Ended up ringing GP yesterday for advice as she's been so out of sorts and GP said to bring her down so she could look at her just to be on safe side. She couldn't see anything to worry about which was reassuring and said I didn't have to apologise for acting like an over-anxious first time mum because a) she was the one who told me to bring her down to the surgery and b) they'd much rather you brought in your tiny baby if worried to be on the safe side. She said they never mind seeing small babies. So that was reassuring. It's nice to know nothing major wrong so I don't need to worry. Minimopsy must have been feeding off my stress too cos after my trip to doctor she was a lot calmer and less upset, probably because I was less worried. Hard not to stress though when your baby is poorly and upset and you don't know what's wrong or how to help them!
