Oi has alistair stopped being sick now?

MissRee · 26/02/2012 18:42

Eeeps me and Freya are massively excited about meeting some of you lovely ladies and babies tomorrow Grin I will be writing down real names and which baby belongs to who as I am totally rubbish at remembering this stuff Blush

Freya was an absolute nightmare for me on Friday - must have been simething in the air northern! typically though she has been an angel all weekend whilst DP has been home Hmm

mopsytop · 26/02/2012 18:43

MissRee and northern, minim

mopsytop · 26/02/2012 18:44

MissRee and northern, minimopsy was a nightmare on Friday too...

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 26/02/2012 19:06

I can't make Bluewater tomorrow Sad will def make the next one - when will the planning start? Grin

MissRee · 26/02/2012 19:30

The children have been plotting against us...Confused

LittleMissFlustered · 26/02/2012 20:05

plu In classics there's a thread about 'if toddlers were on mumsnet'. It's hysterical:o

hawthers · 26/02/2012 20:10

Pre weigh in weigh in result is 210g woop woop - new regime appears to be working....

LittleMissFlustered · 26/02/2012 20:15
mopsytop · 26/02/2012 20:20

Woohoo hawthers!!!!!!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 26/02/2012 20:25

Well Done Hawthers

I've not weighed myself post pregnancy yet! Scared too lol.

OiMissus · 26/02/2012 20:31

I want to come to Bluewater! Envy
However I am going to baby massage, so that should also be nice. Smile
I'm going into work on Tuesday all day interviewing. Ali's going to grandma and grandpa's.
Wednesday - some ladies n babies will be chez oi for coffee and cakes.
Thursday morning is swimming.
Friday... Dunno, I'll have to think of something. Oh I should get my haircut... But it takes 3+ hours... Can I ask Ma n Pa to have him again...Hmm
LO's tummy seems to have settled (thanks for asking mopsy. His nappies have been very colourful today, but he's only spitting up a bit.

OiMissus · 26/02/2012 20:33

And then I meant to say "what plans do you have for the week?"
And fabulous pompoms for farley's weight gain!

aethelfleda · 26/02/2012 20:44

for Hawthers and Farley: Well done madam!!

Sympathy for kablooeying washers and annoying DPs....

Am really feeling the internet-lent-detox: Facebook ignoral isn't bothering me much as if I'm not seeing updates I'm not really missing them. Am making the odd exception for internet shopping (went back to Figleaves.com for another Hotmilk nursing brandplashout as the one I bought was really good quality, way better than the M&S ones that always seem shapeless after a few weeks' use).

Also going to use it to check traffic tomorrow for Bluewater: all rather exciting! Will see how long journey takes: google maps reckons one hour ten but that will be without any traffic. Will see some of you on the nightshift first...

Xiaoxiong · 26/02/2012 21:16

Hello all

Finally got my internet reconnected (the DD wasn't set up properly and we were cut off!) and we are back in business on mumsnet! Inspired by meetups in person with two of our Dec '11 royalty, who were full of good advice and have gorgeous babies...you can take it from me, Rocco and Albert are two very cute boys and if Honey is ok with it I will post a pic of us as well as one of Rocco giving Pirran a penetrating glare Smile It was funny meeting up because it was like being on a blind date - Honey is just as you imagine from her profile and when we got home that night and my MIL was asking what she was like my DH just said "she was so goooooorgeous..." with a sort of swoony look on his face Grin

I totally forgot to take a picture of me and aethel when we met up on Thursday but take it from me, she is just as awesome in real life as she is over the interwebs (not least because she bought me a lemon cupcake, puts her kids in totally psychedelic cloth nappies and knows how to shoot a longbow) and Albert has gorgeous tiny ears that stick out just enough to make your ovaries tingle and start counting the months till ttc-ing could possibly start...

(By the way aethel after you left I accidentally shoplifted some soap from TK Maxx - I didn't have enough hands to push the buggy and carry all the great stuff I wanted to buy so I put some soap into the buggy hood and forgot about it - it then fell out on the train home!! I bet I'm now banned from the store Grin)

Anyway enough from chez Tyel - Pirran is getting over a cold he caught at a mums and babies coffee morning so we have been sucking industrial quantities of green snot out of his nose with an aspirator, and he is drooling through most of his clothes, and the guaranteed way to make him laugh is to speak to him in mandarin chinese - he seems to love the sound of it for some reason!

Wish I could come to Bluewater tomorrow but as I don't drive I would have to battle right across London during rush hour to get there in time Sad Would totally be up for the next one for sure (by which time perhaps I will have my licence...) Have fun though!!

seven77 · 26/02/2012 21:23

That's really great news hawthers, you must be so relieved.
figgy what a pain about the washing machine.
oi sounds like a busy week, I have no plans other than getting Eva weighed.

DD was spectacularly sick on me earlier, must have been the whole feed she brought up, then sat there grinning at me. Is that amount of sick normal? I only have DS to compare to but he just wasn't a sicky baby. Other than that we've had a productive day, two loads of washing, changed the beds, mopped the floors and cleared the veggie patch ready for rotivating.

Welcome back:o

I'm ver' jealous of the meet ups. I shall be all green and source fresh haddock for all future man-slapping:)

BeeMyBaby · 26/02/2012 21:29

pluto I think its fine generally if a BF baby only poos once a week - my DD1 did this for the first 12 weeks or so (followed by horrendous diarrhoea until she was weaned), and DD2 hardly poops at all, mostly just wet wind.

Can't remember who was talking about the bumbo, but I was pondering putting DD2 in her sit up bath seat, but have found that her neck can initially manage it but gets tired too quickly (like during tummy time).

As for age gaps, there was 17 months before my eldest brother and sister, and two and a half years between my second brother and I, and my sister and I both hung on to our older brothers like limpets- we loved them so much - and with a 9 year age gap between my eldest brother and I, he used to look after me and his friends always played with me, so I think it has alot to do with nurture and having a brother/sister relationship as I think there can be alot of sibling rivalry between two girls or boys - as you obviously can't plan for what gender you are going to have its best to really focus on not allowing your children to be jealous of one another. I am definitely wanting to wait until DD2 is in free nursery before the next one as those tiny 2 and half hour breaks would have been amazing to tire the older sibling out and get a short break.

plutocrap · 26/02/2012 21:33

LMF, is that the one with the "cutted up pears"? It is brilliant, but I thought I would be gentle and nor recommend it straight away; it is a bit more vicious than the irrational toddler tantrums one! Grin

Brilliant work, Hawthers! Smile

Welcome back, Tyelperion! It's good to hear you so enthusiastic; that sounds like recovery to me!
Sorry you won't make the BW meetup; you will have to do a SW London thing, and make us SarfEasters jealous...

MissRee · 26/02/2012 21:34

Arrrgh LMF I've just lost an hour and a half in MN Classics Grin

Figgygal · 26/02/2012 22:21

Today's not been good what with the floor and all and now LO has been up since about 2 apart from a 20 min nap he's been put down to bed 4 times since 9.30 and still won't go to sleep he's crying with his eyes shut!!!!! I have completely lost track of how much he's had to eat today it must be about 1.5ltr which Is ridiculous for a 9 wk old baby. We've had to take a break from the hungry baby as it constipated him but he's now sometimes not even going 2 hrs between 7oz feeds in day though sleeping from anything between 8.30-10 up to 7am without food. It can't be healthy can it for him to eat that much???

Been watching/trying to watch bridesmaids since 7.45 and still got half hour to go!! Children eh!!

Coolhand · 26/02/2012 22:29

Brilliant news Hawthers!

Serious haddocks to some partners out there!

We've had a busy couple of days so I haven't made it on here - there was loads to catch up on! We had 4 friends round for dinner on Fri night and Luke slept the whole time - it was great!

We were at my sister-in-law's house for dinner this afternoon. She is lovely but her hubby is just horrendous and really pushes my buttons - every time I come away fuming. He is disgustingly sexist in his comments, is completely disrespectful and rude to my FIL, which is apparently 'banter' and progressively swears more and more with the more alcohol he consumes. I am seething right now about the comments he made. It almost always ends up in hubby and I arguing as he feels that his sister and hubby think we (or I) look down our noses at them - he says my discomfort and annoyance is palpable. The thing is, I always go in open minded and friendly and it goes downhill. An example of the comments today included - you're lucky you had a boy (to my husband) - you've secured the family name - you want your first born to be a boy. Also, and I'm not making this up, his friend called round who has a 5 week daughter - he said 'He didn't get a boy, he got a bitch - wee girls are bitches' - at which point I couldn't keep my mouth shut - apparently this is working class banter which I am too much of a snob to get - it's just abusive.

Needless to say there was absolute silence in the car on the way home - I came in and made a beef casserole to take my frustrations out on something. I'm now sitting with a large g and t and beloved m/n to try and unwind further. I just hate the thought of taking Luke there when he is old enough to understand what is being said - I don't want him to ever think it is okay to talk to anyone or about anyone with such complete disrespect. Anyway...

In other news, Luke has slept through from 7 to 6.30 for 3 of the last 4 nights - the one night he didn't he wasn't fed, just needed soothed back to sleep. I feel human again! Not hopeful about tonight though - his routine was totally messed up by aforementioned visit and he has been doing a fair amount of tossing and turning already!

LittleMissFlustered · 26/02/2012 22:39

plu It is, I loved that one:o

Sorry MissRee!

Cool I'd be very hacked off, and I'm from common-as-muck working class stock. Disliking behaviours like that has nothing to do with 'class' and everything to do with respect. I feel for your poor sister-in-law:(

mopsytop · 26/02/2012 23:12

God coolhand, excusing such mysogyny (sp?) as banter is disgusting. I hate the way banter is used as an excuse for so much vileness and if you don't 'get it', you are dismissed as 'uptight' or 'snobby' or whatever label. GAH! Major sympathies!!! God, imagine calling a tiny baby girl a 'bitch' and thinking that's acceptable. It's disgusting!

mopsytop · 26/02/2012 23:14

And why should you not look down on such behaviour!? Nothing to do with class as LMF says.
