Very sorry to upset anyone that had crappy nights with LO's but i am about to shout from the rooftops (so ignore this next line if you want!!)

He slept from 7pm-7am!! With no dummy or wake ups woo hooooo :o :o

Ok thats enough of my little outburst!
Does anyone know where you can get good toys that encourage grabbing? As he still is really rubbish, and kind of still his his grasp reflex... he is a slow developer though, it takes him a while to get things. Although he did roll from front to back the other day, he didn't mean to at all and started crying as he scared himself so much!!

Kri5ty · 25/02/2012 10:12

Its a good job we love them....

I put him in his cot in his room for his morning sleep, i heard him chatting on the monitor, so i went in, he looked at me, giggled, then started straining and did the biggest poop ever!!

easily how did squeaker go on in his own room?

NorthernChinchilla · 25/02/2012 11:02

Unsurprisingly, since he didn't bloody sleep yesterday, he did his longest stretch overnight, 11-4am, which I believe counts as sleeping through under the sciency definition. My body then again decided this counted as 'enough', and I was awake for the next two hours, but got another 3 the other side.

Obviously there are some ^ whose babies sleep for 12 hours overnight but I shall not be jealous, oh no! Grin
< secretly runs off to ask MNHQ for a 'blowing raspberry' emoticon >

Did you do the 'oh my God is DC OK' check when he did kri5ty?

And figgy, I'm sure it was only a few pages back where you were swearing he'd be your only one! I really don't know if I want more, and no idea what DP thinks.

My DS was on about the 25th centile when born sotired at 7,7 , and then weight wise leapt up to the 75th after about two weeks where he's stayed. As people have said, I think they just find their own level, whatever that be, and then stick to it. Be interesting to find out if your bathroom scales weighing was accurate; we did DS with a towel and fishing scales at his gps, and that was bob on!

Sorry you're still suffering with the evening grumps aethel, that's pants. I hope that southern stretch of the M25 doesn't defeat you, my Dad had to traverse it daily for years with a massive commute, so I know how grim it can be...

Right, reviewing papers for work today, and getting the violas potted up. Will also do nails; the varnish remover ran out part way through, so I'm looking dead classy atm!

Kri5ty · 25/02/2012 11:43

northern nope... i slept straight through!! oooops lol then when i heard him stir, looked at the time and though "oh my gosh"!

Haha a blowing raspberry emoticon would be fab!! I think last night was just a fluke though tbh!

AnAirOfHope · 25/02/2012 12:07

I put the gel on Hope last night at 8pm and she slept from 9pm till 5am Smile and i have put 2 more full body gel-up on today and she is fast a sleep with her Dad and her skin is looking so much better its unbelievable - i wish i had the gel 5 weeks ago.

We are all getting ready to watch the 6 nations England v Wales game at 4pm

Go Wales Grin

girlsyearapart · 25/02/2012 13:06

Wow go kri5ty!
That's a fab sleep.

H has decided not to sleep through anymore but still giving a good stretch.

My mum looked after all 4 this morning while I went to aerobics as the rugby means big bucks for Dh as hes a black cab driver..

When I got in she was holding H like an unexploded bomb as he had been spectacularly sick all over her himself & the floor..

She had sent my dad to go buy kitchen roll!!

HoneyLovesCake · 25/02/2012 13:21

Well, I'm on my own for the weekend. OH got the train this morning to London for his BF's stag & he won't be back 'til midnight Sunday. We managed to have a wee row this morning after he woke DS by banging around looking for the overnight bag while I was trying to eat breakfast so I've just cheered myself up by buying Rocco this for the summer...total impulse buy, very naughty as I'd usually buy a huge bundle on ebay for that much Grin Men are so annoying; apparently since I wanted a baby I need to stop complaining Hmm he seems to have missed the fact that it wasn't the baby I was complaining about. He's out 3-4 nights a week playing snooker but apparently me wanting 10 mins to eat a bowl of porridge on my own is asking too much Angry Oh yeah, & apparently I don't appreciate him FFS

Sorry about the rant Blush

Sling talk...I have a moby, a wilkinet & a maya ring sling, all in black because OH said he'd want to use them too (but he's only used the wilkinet). I want something prettier for a wedding I'm going to in May & something lighter for the summer...any recommendations?

Weird TMI question but DS has had mucus in his poo 2 days running now, should I be concerned? Lots of lovely big mustard poos Grin but the last 2 mornings his first poos have had mucus in them, I'm wondering if it's from swallowing snot overnight

I have DS's first giggles on video & just took one of him staring intently at the wooden toys on his bouncer & spinning them on purpose [proud mum emoticon] They're less than a minute long but I know I'll treasure them when he's a smelly teenager telling me he hates me all grown up :)

I've decided to put off ttc until DS is 9 months; realistically it probably wouldn't happen sooner while bfing anyway so I why put the pressure on. Also, I've been doing a bit of research & it seems that about a quarter of babies self-wean when you get pregnant due to less milk & colostrum coming in. :( I'm hoping to BF until DS is 2 at least but I don't want to wait that long before ttc...he's a greedy little thing though so I'm crossing my fingers for successful tandem feeding!

HoneyLovesCake · 25/02/2012 13:27

Missed your post kri5ty 7-7 Shock that's amazing!! Envy

KateM77 · 25/02/2012 14:10

kri5ty that's amazing. Getting lots of sleep feels wonderful :)

Honey rant away! You're not being unreasonable at all...it sounds like you're the one who's not appreciated.

Air that's great news about the gel working so well. Such a shame you didn't have it earlier.

Having a productive day here. DH has been to Tesco and finished painting the spare room, and I've done lots of housework and made lentil and tomato soup:

Fry a chopped onion in olive oil. Add 6oz red lentils, a tin of chopped tomatoes, 1 and a half pints veg stock, 2 teaspoons marmite and some thyme. Simmer for 20mins. Blend.

Quick, easy, tasty and good for you. Although it's a little spring-like outside today for a hearty soup Grin

I'm going to out myself now as having a playroom and 5 toilets in my house Blush. Must make sure my DC's know this is not normal, and is not how Mummy and Daddy grew up!

msbuggywinkle · 25/02/2012 14:38

HLC neither of my elder two weaned during pregnancy, I have tandem nursed twice now! My supply drops to practically nothing at 20 weeks, I did encourage them to keep going by offering a couple of times a day, they then upped how much they were nursing when my colostrum came in...they both thought it was apple juice! DD1 weaned when I was 20 weeks pregnant with Miri, but has had a few goes since Miri was born, mostly whe she has seen her best friend (18mths older than she is) nursing!

mopsytop · 25/02/2012 14:58

Nice one re: sleep kri5ty and gel Air. sorry your husbands being s pain Honey. the ''you wanted a baby' thing is totally unfair, it's his child too. Doesn't sound like he pulls his weight much, you're doing an amazing job!

Minimopsy has been grizzly, feeding less, a bit stubbly. She's only 9 weeks (ten on Monday) but I noticed a little white spot on her lower (middle front) gum - cd it be a tooth starting? She seems awfully young. I asked my husband to buy some teething gel just in case because also, when I put my little finger in her mouth she bites down rather than sucking ...

Going to make spinach, waterchestnut and prawn gyoza in a bit-got gyoza wrappers from the Asian store, FAR too much faff to make from scratch. It's enough faff making the gyoza but they are so yum, worth it I think! What are you all up to tonight, anything exciting?

mopsytop · 25/02/2012 15:00

Grizzly not stubbly!!!! Don't worry, she's not growing a beard!

mopsytop · 25/02/2012 15:01

Sorry not grizzly, dribbly. Argh!

seven77 · 25/02/2012 15:45

mopsy I did laugh at her being stubbly!

honey I got my Ellaroo wrap as I thought it would be cooler for the summer, she seems to get quite hot in the stretchy wrap, and it comes in loads of pretty colours. I'll let you know how I get on with it. Have a for DH if you think he needs one.

No plans here tonight, Chinese and DH is finishing the painting, depending how busy he's been at work. It seems a lifetime ago we actually had exciting plans for Saturday nights.

aethel am not Madonna but canoften be found gyrating around the house in big spangly knickers. Nor am I Angelina, but can often be found lusting after a bit of Brad. (but only in his younger, more innocent days).
msbuggy earthship?
Kristy 7-7 , Air 9-5 EnvyEnvyEnvy
I was delighted with LO going from 1-6, then 6-9! Kristy my LO is not reaching for things either. I've not been following what he should/should not be doing -maybe I should. But he's a healthy, happy little wriggler -that'll do me! Grin
northern you have nails??! Mine are soft, ripped and flakey. I think All my calcium is going in my breastmilk. My hair is very weak too.
honey my DH is on a stag weekend too, and we'll be waiting 9mths before ttc -see you on the June/July 2013 thread. (or some point thereafter). Love the polo set. Tres chic. Also loving that there are a few of us feeling broody again already! Smile
Kate the next time my toilet breaks, I'll come visiting. The house I want to buy has 5 toilets, a playroom and a "play patio" no less. Smile I may be kidding myself that I could afford it.

I was going to spend the weekend sorting and cleaning, but I spent today eating biscuits, with LO sleeping on me, watching the Sex and the City film (hadn't seen it til today < shame on me emoticon >

Kri5ty · 25/02/2012 19:16

air what is the gel? i have missed posts from the gremlins in my internet connection!

oi i figure he will catch up eventually but i still feel like i should encourage him! He has started to take great interest (ie wont look away from) the tv if its on, so have to switch it off now :( lol

msbuggywinkle · 25/02/2012 19:41

oi earthship

aethelfleda · 25/02/2012 20:11

Evening all. Am about to get my umpteenth cup of Brew as DS has just conked (marginally less grumpy tonight so far). Managed a Skype conference meeting today ( re-enactment hobby related, not work!) but have slight headache as there was lots of annoying audio feedback and dodgy mike at the host end. At least it was audio only so no pressure to look tidy and they didn't get an eyeful when I was feeding DS. They all like a bit of double entendre anyway so when they asked for a comment I gave them one....:)

HoneyLovesCake · 25/02/2012 20:37

oooh the earthship is fab msb very grand designs!

ellaroo looks very nice...I'll keep an eye out for one on ebay though; you know how much I like a bargain Wink

oi I shall indeed meet you on the june/july bus...if AF comes back though I think I might find it hard not to ttc a little bit earlier...sooo broody.

I had the best intentions today; brown rice & veg stew for dinner but DS somehow worked out that DP is away & mummy has to deal with him all alone so has been exercising his lungs >_< I have just broken out the secret stash of ben & jerry's. Might go to bed early if there's nothing good on. Night all. :)

aethelfleda · 25/02/2012 22:07

honey and oi: I know you're planning more and that's lovely but there's no dead rush: a tiny gap can be nice later on, but enjoy your first LO before the next steals their baby thunder (said to me by a friend who had a 15 month gap between dS and dD. her little boy took his first steps when she was 36 weeks pregnant and knackered, she felt that the pregnancy took her attention away from enjoying him fully).

Enjoy the illicit icecream fix (I've just had my equivalent: a Sainsburys taste the difference salt-and-pepper toasted muffin with posh butter: lush!)have attempted the so-called dream feed thing as DS conked at 8 today, and was just stirring so I shoved a boob in his direction. We'll see if it worked... Night all!

Figgygal · 25/02/2012 22:23

Just crawled into bed not expecting much tonight LO not slept much today so fell asleep on his bottle at half 8 but he usually has another one around 10 so he's down a feed. Have to say he seems to have calmed down a tiny little bit with feeding still eating every 2.5-3hrs but that's because he goes a long time overnight. Saying that we went for a walk today and after an hour he started screaming and LOUDLY ended up practically running home to get him fed as people were looking at me. We taking him to see DHs grandfather tomorrow he's only been once so far and cried ALOT had to take him home quite quickly so fingers crossed he's a bit better tomorrow.

OiMissus · 25/02/2012 22:29

Good point aethel. I can't work out the best time, there doesn't seem to be one.
LO has been either asleep, feeding or being sick today.Sad Poor mite just keeps throwing up. I guess sleeping is the best thing for him, hope he's ok through the night.
When he wakes, when he's being sick, he still wants to feed. I'm trying to dissuade him and take his mind off it -if his tummy is upset. Is this the right thing to do?
He had diarrhoea this morning too. Sad

EasilyBored · 25/02/2012 22:59

Quick question, those of you that ff or mix feed, what kind of routine are your babys on? We've just been doing whatever seems right at the time but I think we need a bit more of a structured routine.

4madboys · 25/02/2012 23:02

easily R and M very quickly fell into a pattern of feeding every 3 hrs and then when a bit older every 4 hours and they woudl give us longer stretches at night, say 5hr then that went to 6hrs etc.

i wouldnt go for mega structured but a pattern will develop and you can jiggle it about a bit to suit you!
