Just popped on to say big hugs to blizy mrblizy and zoe today xx

ledkr · 26/02/2012 10:32

Thoughts today for blizy and family who deserve it

No ledkr words of wisdom today as there are none xxx

ledkr · 26/02/2012 10:38

k2 sorry didnt mean to offend re lentil weavery, its just that she is one. My mate has had 5 home births and she is 6ft2 has purple spikey hair, tattoes,a boob job and piercings and she's about 16 stones. Defo not a lentil weaver.
She has massive babies and gives them baby rice at a day old Shock They are all alive and well.
Sorry re dh.I have times when i despise mine too.He is wonderful too but after being mauled by a baby all day i just want to be left alone daaaaaalings!

RobinSparkles · 26/02/2012 10:41

Hi all,

Not posted in quite a while but just wanted to pop in and say:
Blizy, I am thinking of you, your DH and Zoe today. You're in my thoughts often but particularly today. Lots of love to you xxx

Hope everyone is well and Happy Birthday to all the babies! Can't believe how quickly this year has gone!

americanexpat · 26/02/2012 11:35

blizy - thinking about you and Zoe today. She's often in my thoughts but today especially. Xx

k2tog - I had planned to do the same as 44me but also didn't get around to it. P is gorgeous - but of course you know that already. Grin

tad - how'd A get on with the skiing? I went a couple of years ago and was Envy at the young'ns zipping around without poles while I struggled to stay upright. They take to it so much easier at that age.

reastie - hope Alice's party goes off without too much drama today.

L has been such hard work lately. He's resisting sleep during the day so really grumpy and gets frustrated when he can't do something. He has one of those stacking ring things (don't remember what they're called), he tried to put a ring on and couldn't get it so got frustrated and threw the ring. Hmm I keep thinking that when my dad was this age, my grandma already had a 1 month old baby as well. Shock

ledkr · 26/02/2012 12:31

expat Dills is just like that, she had a tantrum yesterday to rival a 2 yr old,she throws herself around and kicks us and screams if we pick her up,im shocked. The resisting sleep thing too is annoying.Ive given up completely on the morning one and go for an after lunch one.Yesterday she had no naps at all and woke at 5.30 am today because of it grrr.
Just been to the park with dd's and dgs who stayed here last night. It was tres hard work with all of them.He has gone now, dils is asleep and me and dh are going to watch the footy and eat a roast mmmmm.

ILovePonyo · 26/02/2012 12:56

Hi all, blizy am sending you and mr blizy love and am thinking of you and little Zoe bear today.

debka · 26/02/2012 13:56

Much love to blizy and mrblzy today from us too, holding you up before the light. We've lit a candle for lovely, never forgotten Zoe too.

ILovePonyo · 26/02/2012 15:40

aww poor A keeps coughing in her sleep, it doesn't wake her but sounds a bit pathetic Sad

Hi robin and happy belated birthday to C Grin

ledkr and expat ooh yes to the strops, A quite often cries or throws something if we say 'no', today we put her back in the trolley in Sainsbos when she wanted to go on the floor, she actually rested her head on the bar of the trolley and screamed then sobbed, dp and I looked at each other like Hmm then a nice man gave us a sympathetic smile Grin

So who takes it n turns at weekends to have a lie in? Don't know if IABU or not. When dp got A up this morning he asked me to turn bedside light on, then came back upstairs after giving her her bottle to get his phone, left the bedroom door wide open then I was woken up at 8.15 by A crying, she was stood at the stair gate at the bottom of the stairs crying away and he was letting her (she wasn't really upset, just being noisy)
Now when I get A up I try and keep her quiet so dp can sleep. But then maybe I should just appreciate my sleep til 8.15?
Any opinions appreciated... got to go dps friend is here.

blizy · 26/02/2012 16:46

Thank you all do much for your thoughts and well wishes. The day has been ok do far, although the knot in my tummy is getting bigger. I keep looking back to this time last year, when we were so blissfully unaware of what 9.30 pm would bring. I am not looking forward to tonight.

Dh and I went into town today, we bought Zoe's bear a happy birthday t-shirt from build a bear.

Tomorrow we will go and buy a number one and butterfly helium balloon and a proper birthday card which we will release at the crematorium on tuesday. We are also going to buy some baby pink roses ( we had those at her funeral). I have cleaned and re-arranged her special place in the living room. Also on the list for tomorrow is making a birthday cake (just a basic sponge, as I'm crappy at baking) for Dh and I to enjoy. We are thinking of cracking open a bottle of bubbly to celebrate Zoe's short life too.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks

ledkr · 26/02/2012 16:58

blizy I keep welling up today about Zoe so goodness knows how you both feel. Then watched Evita and cried more Sad

ponyo dh does the same. His lie ins are epic and quiet mine are till 8 with lots of noise, Tbh i have just started doing the same to him now so none of us gets a lie in now Grin

Hes on a late today so Ella sleeping with momma.Cant be arsed with him comig in at 2am.

Im hitting brum next week ladies for mates birthday,im also planning my day at the races in 2weeks,cant wait.

reastie · 26/02/2012 18:32

blizy hope that tummy knot is OK in this hard build up Sad . The balloon idea sounds lovely, and I love the birthday tshirt. I think you should definitely open the bubbly - Zoes life may have been short but she was so loved by the most amazing parents. xxx

ponyo tbh imo 8:15 is a pretty long lie in Shock . I would be very annoyed in your situ though and it's not on for dh to do that. I'm pretty much always awake by 7am and can't get back to sleep no matter how tired I am or how much Alice may sleep in Hmm so anything beyond 7 I count as a massive Envy

ledkr can't wait to hear about the Brummy night out - there's bound to be a good story from this Grin

Popped into a second hand baby sale thingy in a local village hall and got a few bits and pieces including a happyland vets for £1 Grin . Oh - PIL have asked us if there's anything they want to get us for Alices bday, around £50 - any ideas? It's the kind of thing where if we don't say anything quick we won't get anything IYKWIM. I don't really know what sort of things will be good or useful in the coming year so any ideas??

wiggles please could you recommend a dvd box set for dh and me please - we have now finished all of the fringe seasons Grin . I was thinking about waking the dead after comments here but think it will be too jumpy for dh me

Alices family bday party went well today I am shattered from all the planning and cooking etc though. No arguments yet with dh on mil but I find myself so jittery after her visit once more - it happens every time. I know you all say it's just pnd, but she has the same affect on sil and my family, so I know it's not just me. Pil bought alice a painting for her bedroom wall - let's just say it's not my taste at all. Wall pictures are so personal that I'm not sure someone else should pick these things but I know she means well. We can't now not put it on the wall in Alices room as she will know, so we've put it half hidden in the most inconspicuous place we could find Hmm [sigh]

wigglesrock · 26/02/2012 19:53

Evening all

blizy champagne sounds lovely - save me a glass, hope this evening is going alright for you xx

ponyo what is this lie in you speak of Grin Envy? We too have a tantrummer!

reastie what about something for the back garden? - a slide or those pop up tents/teepee things - Sofia and Olivia have a few of them and Anna loves them, you can get connecting tunnels Grin Anna played all afternoon at the christening party in one of those Little Tikes bubble cars (they're about £45), she can only make it go backwards, it was really funny Grin

Trying to think of dvds - what about Battlestar Galactica? - I avoid space type things but Mr W was lent this and its better than I thought. Or Dexter - everyone keeps telling us to watch it but Mr W can't stand the lead actor - really to the point of distraction so its a no no Grin Did you end up watching Luther, have you seen Alias?

americanexpat any news on your Dad?

Well christening was great, the priest is a relative of Bs dad - so he can organise private christenings and pick the times etc so it was really relaxed, just as well as there were 16 children there, the oldest being seven and the rest roughly between 2 and 4 Shock

OP posts:
reastie · 26/02/2012 20:08

wiggles we have a swing, bubble car, trike, 2 push along lawnmowers, 2 outdoor trikes, sea saw and a sit on musical thingy for the garden Shock - our garden is going to look like a blooming playground as it is (mostly given to us btw - we arn't rich you know Wink ), but excellent idea re: tent type thing - will look into that. I tried Dexter btw but just didn't get on with it, and battlestar galactica sounds like something dh would like but I would yawn through. Never seen Alias or Luther - is Alias a good'un then? Glad christening went well, sounds like it will have been very noisy with all those children though Hmm

RobinSparkles · 26/02/2012 20:19

Blizy the balloon is a lovely idea. You and your DH are amazing!

wigglesrock · 26/02/2012 20:24

Grin at Reastie, I loved Alias but I like Jennifer Garner and Michael Vartan so it was win win for me Grin. It also has the added bonus of being finished so you don't have to worry about it being cancelled or having to wait donkeys on the next series Grin

It was very noisy but at the house we just chucked all the children outside for a while with some cars and a few footballs and kept them plied with sausages and ice-cream Grin And at the actual christening the little ones just wandered around the back of the chapel and played in the confessional boxes Blush. Sofia and Olivia were stars and sat quietly but they associate mass with sweets afterwards another stellar moment in my parenting ability! Sofia is going through a very serious pious holy stage at the minute due to her making her first confession in a few weeks so she took it all very very very seriously Grin

RobinSparkles · 26/02/2012 20:24

Ponyo I guess that 8.15 is a lie in but it's not a treat lie in, which is what you should be getting! Your DP should be treating your lie in with the respect that you give his - yours is more important! Wink Have you spoken to him about it? Maybe he just hasn't realised (typical male not thinking).

Glad A had a lovely birthday Reastie.

Sorry about your dad expat hope he's ok.

I also have a tantrum queen. She's very strong headed and stubborn - must be like her dad! Grin

RobinSparkles · 26/02/2012 20:26

Sausages and ice cream, wiggles? Together? Wink

wigglesrock · 26/02/2012 20:29

Sausage on cocktail sticks in one hand and a cone or poke as we say here in the other RobinSparkles, its the future I tell you Grin

OP posts:
RobinSparkles · 26/02/2012 20:32

I thought you were using the sausages instead of a chocolate flake! Grin yum!

ILovePonyo · 26/02/2012 20:33

Hm maybe IABU re: lie in then, feel sorry for dp at the moment he can't do anything right Wink ledkr I think if I crashed around and made noise he'd still sleep through it annoying

reastie wow to all the stuff in your back garden, I saw the pics of the swing and thought that Anya would love that, though she'd probably get bored and only like it at the park Hmm Well done getting through the birthday day, my lovely dad bought us a print for A's room, lets just say its not to my taste, it is currently hidden but is in her room s I can whip it out if he ever goes in there (unlikely). He also got us for xmas a big print of him and A, lovely pic but not blown up to a massive canvas, that not on the wall either mean Grin

blizy hope that you have raised a glass of bubbly for Z tonight. I have been thinking of you and your dp lots today, no words to help but you are all in my thoughts.

wiggles wow to the number of children at the christening, especially mostly being age 2-4! Glad it went well though.

Back to work tomo, heres hoping for a better week, not looking forward to it. Hope everyone else is well :)

ILovePonyo · 26/02/2012 20:38

x post there, no Robin I havn't spoken to him about it Blush I just moan on here instead Grin tbh I feel like such a boring old moaner at the moment that I can't be bothered telling him, maybe next weekend. Actually I'm going to my mums then so the weekend after. If I tell him now he'll forget! And yes you're right, its not a treat lie in. It bloody should be!

wiggles aw to S being v serious at christening and Grin at the girls associating mass with sweets, ice cream just as good though!

ledkr · 26/02/2012 20:51

LIVERPOOL WON THE LEAGUE CUP. yeyyyyyy. I had a tear or two.

Ponyo Im a bit naggy at dh too,im not sure what it is but he is soooooo annoying. Im sure i am too though. I still dont think yabu about the lie in though, its courtesy to keep quiet if its your turn,I use ear plugs when i remember you dont hear a thing.
reastie How about one of those solid plastic houses or a trampoline?
Ill have you know Brum will be a sedate affair,we are dining at Marco Pierre Whites place. then hitting the clubs so i shall be on my best behaviour.
Race week is for the stories,me and my friends have a competition to not buy any drinks all night,we get wiggles relatives to buy them for us,to be sure to be sure. Seriously we love the Irish coming.Last year a man stood in front of the tv in the pub during a race so an Irishman threw the sporting life at him,it hit a feisty Irish bird who gave him a right mouthfull,i was literally pissing myself.

Did i mention that Liverpool won the league cup?

Grannyapple · 26/02/2012 20:55

Evening ladies....back to the warmth & dry south (blizy) I forgot how nippy it can get up there, compared to the tropical weather we had down here last week. V v kind of you re: cot offer...the SIL of my future BIL loaned us one ( complicated I know...big families & all that)! Big giant squishy hugs you & your dh today & tonight & over next few daysxxxx

Well party was a roaring success...tho dh & I are both knackered. Was a bit like our wedding reception all those years ago as lots of family came who we haven't seen for years....must've been about 40 people there & almost half were kids! Thankfully MIL loves chaos like that...so much so she was all teary when we left this morning, bless her. Sis did a sterling job too with the decorations, sorting out kiddie friendly nibbles & organising party games for the older kids Smile she's a teacher so loves making them work for prizes Grin. Glad to be back to some peace & quiet tho...

I have a nursery etiquette question...N moves up to toddler room on Monday Sad. His key worker from when he started kept saying have a lovely w/e & almost saw me out the door , but I got the impression she was after a gift/thank you of some sort? Is it the norm to get the nursery worker a gift when he moves up to the next level?! I know this happens at school but wasn't sure about nursery ?!

wigglesrock · 26/02/2012 20:56

ledkr they were lucky Grin
