Well after my trying day it took an hour to settle A to sleep, I will admit to a few "for fuuuucks sake" as I was stomping upstairs again, I hope she sleeps well tonight Hmm dp went out and got takeaway, we've just had jerk chicken, rice and peas, and veg for tea, it was soooo nice :)

tadj I like the idea of writing dowb 5 things a day - hae you started yet? I probably come across like a moaner on here but I do try to stay positive, I think I usually succeed too! I am somewhat obsessed with Supernanny US and am always amazed at the massive houses all the families seem to have - is that the norm then!? I love the idea of Wisteria Lane but a friend did it and found it not to be all you imagine.

blizy agree with Robin, ignore us whingers Grin anyway won't be long til you're whinging away with us Wink Enjoy your night out tomo, sonds good.

emski yes to being annoyed but then A doing something cute/funny - makes it all go away doesn't it!

reastie i thought about it and if I heard dp say that to A I'd be really annoyed with him. But then I can imagine he would feel bad and not mean it - I know I've been swearing away under my breath in the middle of the night when A is crying.

mizk can you tell dp how you're feeling? Sounds a bit crappy of him, and taking Joe is just an excuse for going? Agree about the jabs, A has not been herself today :(

dp is getting A up in the morning, I have already laid down ground rules eg be bloody considerate Grin heres hoping.

ledkr · 09/03/2012 21:13

ponyo I had a crap lie in today too.7.45.Just wait till tomorrow.

Thanks so much for all your kind words it does help.Maybe ive forgotten what babies are like.
mizk You are similar to me as in having to start again and it is hard. Btw if you want to come to the races you are more than welcome to stray here.I get my love of races from my late gpa.

tad Id love to live abroad but id defo miss family and friends,it must be hard.

reastie I think you are right re depression,it does come and go though which is weird.I am very tired although dills sleeps really well just wakes early.

Im so glad to hear you all say yours are whingey too,it must be the age. I wouldnt mind the clingyness if it meant i got to cuddle her and sit on my arse but she gets up then gets down again for more whingeing and getting her to nap is like an epic effort. The day really does seem like a hard slog doesnt it?Id just like an hour to tidy up and wipe the sides,i seem to live in chaos.

robin Thanks for your support as well and your massive re posting haha.

blizy I do always think of you when im moaning,it must make you want to kill me sorry. Im always mindfull of Zoe and she does keep me going often.I hope you have fun with dh it sounds great Envy

Our night hasnt panned out tbh,we were so busy with the girls,i had a shower then a row with ds cos he said he couldnt babysit as was going out then stayed in grr. We are currently awaiting a chinese but ive gone beyond it now and its time for bed.

Anyhow off to be miserable night all xx

wigglesrock · 09/03/2012 21:15

Sorry we are all having shite days. I was a total zombie after I had Olivia, she was such a poor sleeper and we went through so many upheavals when Mr W changed jobs - I can't remember seeing light at the end of the tunnel until she was about 18 months, sorry probably not helping much Blush

For me its a lot easier with A, but I think thats just because I don't have any time to think about anything Grin

I also lower my expectations even more than usual until the girls are about 2! I'm lucky that I have been with Mr W so long that we can survive a few months of snippiness, short temperedness and no sex and know that it will get straightened out when we eventually spend more than 20 mins together Grin

tadj and ponyo I did the list of 5 things when I was properly depressed about 8 years ago. It souds wanky but I think it really helped me. I also have a desperate habit of talking to myself out loud Blush when I can feel the old black edges of depression creeping in. In a kind of "you can do this, its a piece of piss, she will not cry all night, you've come through worse etc" I think just talking out loud even if it is to yourself helps or writing it down which is why we are all so bloody brilliant and pulling each other through the crap bits.

ledkr I have friends who went back to work full-time because that time away helped them be a happier Mum - absolutely nothing wrong with it all xxx

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 09/03/2012 21:17

ledkr have I got that right, are you inviting MizK to stray with you Grin Hope you get some sleep xx

OP posts:
ledkr · 09/03/2012 21:17

mizk Even though i love Liverpool i absolutley HATE people who are so bloody obsessed with it they put everything first. My mates dh goes to manu every game regardless of money or what ever is going on at home.
Id do something nice with the girls if i were you and dont let it get you down.Dh is working on mothers days so ill be with moany arse.

ledkr · 09/03/2012 21:20

wiggs Smile I am defo happier when working,i had asad case this week and felt so proud of the job i do and the support i could bring to the child.

tadjennyp · 09/03/2012 21:21

Grin at the typo: 'you are welcome to stray here!' Sorry you are having a rough time ledkr. Love a good Chinese takeaway. Can you organise a rota with ds so he can babysit for you? Hope you get a good lie-in tomorrow.

WeAreBorg · 09/03/2012 21:26

Yes and double yes to whingy babies, N is being a pain. I have drugged him tonight Blush please don't judge me, but I'm working all weekend and I really need him to sleep. Hope it works.....[bet it doesn't]

blizy really hope this is your month too. granny I would love to start TTC again but

  1. Can't be bothered to DTD
  2. Nate sleeps between DH and me
  3. Still haven't had a period yet!

ledkr reastie I always stomp about swearing, have a bit of a short fuse. DH usually says something to make me feel really bad though. I told N I was going to strangle him until he went to sleep the other night Blush but did it in a kindly sing song voice.

Very relieved you all said you got jealous of pregnant ladies, I thought it was just me! Before I was pregnant, announcements just made me feel so sad, when I was pregnant they just made me feel like they were stealing my thunder, and now I am back to feeling a bit sad.

Am dribbling at the thought of ponyos jerk chicken....

WeAreBorg · 09/03/2012 21:31

Millions of x-posts, I remember your DH being a pain re football before mizk. Mind you we're not doing anything for Mother's day, I have the same low opinion of it as I do Valentines, i.e. commercialised nonsense and everywhere will be full for lunch.

ledkr · 09/03/2012 22:52

borg hilarious as ever thanks for admiting to a good inappropriate swear fest too. Ive always done it but never ever come close to hurting them so it works. Im a vocal lassie Grin
Im not a mothers day fan either,it bollox really,id like to be appreciated all year round.

Ive just realised the typing error, how fitting eh? Off to bed now after stuffing my head full of chinese and feeling sick. How romantic eh?
Im on early duty but have Stella, grimm and Geordie shore taped as good family veiwing for me and my one year old.Heres hoping all whingeing is kept to a minimum for us all.

blizy · 09/03/2012 23:00

Oh ledkr Of course I don't want to kill you and please don't be sorry! Honestly, your moaning does not upset me. I am sure if Zoe was here I would be joining in too. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you - here have some Thanks

borg You just made me Grin with your alternantive lullabye!

reastie · 10/03/2012 07:17

borg drugged him 'eh? What did you use?! When my sister was little my mum tried to drug her to sleep with some over the counter medication that at the time was used to get bad sleepers to sleep but apparently now isn't allowed but it never worked Hmm . Btw no period still Envy

ledkr how are you this morning? If it helps, with my pnd it has always been up and down and better and worse, it's why I never did anything (and still haven't really) for so long as when I was fine I felt nothing was wrong and I was making it up, and then when I had a bad few days would be the only time I'd realise how bad it was, but then it would be better again so I'd shrug it off and hope that was the last bad patch.

Well, unless Alice woke in the night and I don't remember (which has happened!) I think she finally slept through Grin - so maybe it was her picking up on my inspection stress Hmm . Just made a cup of tea and off to bed to watch Baz Lurmans (sp) Romeo and Juliet - love that film, reminds me of being a teenager Grin and my teen crush on leo dicaprio

ledkr · 10/03/2012 09:19

borg Is it medised? It makes me laugh the way they have banned its use.The pharmacist said "Its because people were using it to get their babies to sleep" I was just stood there going Confused Pompous areseholes. Its funny cos all my sw nurse and Dr friends still use it Grin I will if i need to as well so there.

reastie Dils woke at 5.30 grrrrr but dh got up. She seems in good spirits so far but that is because Ella is here.I often wonder if she misses her when she is not here as she has a similar bond with her that we do.
I still feel a bit down and headachey but we are hoping to go off to the farm park today for some brisk fresh air and i feel as if it will do us the world of good.

Im not too partial to shakespear tbh Blush I do like the classics just not Will. My dil is in Dorian Grey at the moment but i doubt ill get to see it.

choc Well done on the weight loss. Its doesnt seem to work for me but then im not strict with the syns, tell me,how strict are you? I tend to be a little vague.

RobinSparkles · 10/03/2012 18:37

Borg, no judging here! I've often wondered whether L would benefit from a bit of Medised herself. When they're teething and in pain crying and not sleeping mustn't do them any good.

My mum's next door neighbour has about 9 children (might be 7, well she has a few anyway) all grown up now but she said her youngest was a nightmare and would scream and scream. She had her see doctor after doctor and was at the end of her tether! In the end a doctor said she had tummy upset and said to give her a teaspoon of water, half a teaspoon of sugar and a teaspoon of whiskey Shock. She said it worked! I must admit that I've been tempted to try it at times!

ILovePonyo · 10/03/2012 20:14

Gah I just lost a post.

ledkr A also woke early, 5.45, dp got her up and I stayed in bed til 9.30 ahh lovely. She did wake for a bottle at 4am though, whats that about?! Hope the fresh air worked for you today :)

reastie my best mate is getting married this year and might use the 'kissing you' song from romeo and juliet at beginning of the ceremony, I was saying 'nooooo I will cry as soon as I hear that song' Grin Hope A sleeps well again tonight.

wiggles I like the talking to yourself out loud for some reason [confusing] just think it sounds nice!

We had curry today in town (tamatanga anyone?) and A was loving it except for when she got a spicy bit and would cry and rub her tongue, then keep shovelling it in Grin
She really bonked her head today but seemed fine, excpet for screaming for 15mins like a newborn Shock was considering a call to nhs direct but she was happy enough before bed.

I don't have much else interesting to say Grin and am tired/can't concentrate even after my lie in Blush Hope everyone is having a good evening.

WeAreBorg · 10/03/2012 20:48

ponyo your posts keep making me hungry. hope Anya is okay.
ledkr ha ha, yes I set out to get medised as people told me it was great, but ended up with piriton which predictably did not work. Have tried whiskey, wine and beer via the boob but I think he has probably built up a tolerance to alcohol-fumed breast milk now

RobinSparkles · 10/03/2012 21:04

Ok, I'm just wondering if anyone can help with this - I'm a little worried but I'm sure it's nothing...
Yesterday I found a small lump on L's neck. It's at the point where her head meets her neck, in her hairline behind her ear and it's about the size of a pea. I found it whilst I was stroking her head when she was resting it on my lap. I haven't really fiddled about to see if it moves or anything because I can't really get her to stay still for long enough (and it freaked me out a bit), but it doesn't seem to hurt her. I've checked today and it doesn't seem to be protruding as much as it did yesterday. Could it be a lymph node? Or just muscles etc developing? I'll probably get it checked by the GP on Monday just to be on the safe side.

RobinSparkles · 10/03/2012 21:08

I loved Leo when I was a teen. His posters filled my room.

I even had a massive one on my ceiling then I could stare at it when I was in bed

ledkr · 10/03/2012 21:19

Lumps in babies are very rarely sinister robin It sounds like a gland i have a couple of hard ones behind my lugholes that stay up all the time. Get it checked tho for peace of mind.

borg My sw friends give medised to their babies Grin One friends baby is a terrible sleeper we sed to have competitions to see who had the worst night,i feel guilty now Dils sleeps well.

We had such a lovely day today.Took the girls to the wildlife park, the sun was shining and we had a picnic and Dills loved the animals too.She was climbing up the slide and sliding down it whilst cackling. Id forgotten how nice it is to get out as a family.

Pils are coming at easter for abut 3 days so im sure i wont disappoint you with stories. Fil seems obsessed with food and starts asking about the next meal about 2 hours in advance so im guessing ill snap at him after a while.Dh told him her was obsessed last time Grin

RobinSparkles · 10/03/2012 21:23

Thanks Ledkr! I had a feeling that it might be a gland or something but there was just a little bit of panic in my mind. I'll get it checked just to be on the safe side but the fact that you've just said that has really calmed me down, thank you!

reastie · 10/03/2012 21:23

robin I can't help I'm afraid re: the lump. Does mrdrborgthelurker have any advice to offer maybe Wink

Re: Leo, I had so many Blush boybandy posters on my wall as a teen that I will not admit to Grin . I will, however, [lush] myself by saying once a school friend and I went to wave madly see Leo outside a film premiere. We saw him from a distance for all of a minute! I was somehow in the background of a shot for GMTV and everyone at school the next day had seen me on tv just as well I didn't skive for it Blush

borg love the alcohol flavoured boob Grin . I will not admit to worrying about the alcohol in christmas pudding last year, oh no, that definitely wasn't me

ponyo anya gets such exciting food compared to alice. I tried her with a few spicy things but she won't eat them Hmm . Love the 'kissing you' song btw

reastie · 10/03/2012 21:25

argh, that emoticon was meant to be [ blush ] not [lush]

Glad ledkr you had a nice day today. We are toying with going out tomorrow and I sort of can't be bothered but may really enjoy it if we go.

RobinSparkles · 10/03/2012 21:26

Glad you've had a better day today! :)

God your FIL sounds like my 4 year old! She's like that, she asks what we're having for tea at lunch time. It drives me mad but I think I'd throttle her if she was a grown man and not a 4 year old child!

RobinSparkles · 10/03/2012 21:29

You saw him at a distance Reastie?! God I still would have been Envy. I didn't have any boy bands as I wasn't really into them, I had the cast of Friends and Leonardo DiCaprio. :o

blizy · 10/03/2012 21:37

I would have some boon if alcohol came out!

Ponyo- the kissing you instrumental is by Andre rieu, it was short listed for me walking down the aisle, we went for the instrumental to the verve bitter sweet symphony instead. Oops got to go Dh back from the loo.Grin
