Sassy Grin at you and dp, sounds like me and dh, I genuinely think if we had a night to ourselves we would do nothing but sleep!!

Scheh, I'm not sure there is any evidence to prove blw is better than purée, it's completely your preference, I'm too controlling to do solely blw, it would stress me out not knowing how much they have to I batch cook too and then give them bits to hold as extras! So don't feel guilty as sure don't! Wink

BB3 · 13/03/2012 07:13

Jnice - give dh a punch for being insensitive Grin you're not self obsessed, you're a mother.

Ds was diagnosed with hearing problems yesterday and severe glue ear that (despite having his ears checked at least 5 times in the past year), has been developing for 18 months and he has had no proper hearing for all that time and while I'm so relieved there's a reason he doesn't speak and he can be 'fixed' I'm mortified that I didn't push for a referral sooner and blame myself for the fact that he is in this position. I let the nursery engage me in a 6 month debate over his 'underlying behavioural issues' as they put it so nicely rather stamping my feet earlier (there was quite a bit of foot stamping when I finally decided enough was enough and demanded a referral). There's always a reason to be slightly self obsessed (usually guilt!), ds knows you love him and are proud of him, give him am extra big mummy cuddle today (even if he is too big for it Wink).

sassy34264 · 13/03/2012 08:04

i second bb3 self obessed when you are a mother is really guilt jnice everyone says your love expands when you have more kids, but unfortunately your time doesnt.
ive also got it in the back of my mind that your dp doesnt help much due to illness or depression? if that is the case i would very bluntly tell him to wind his neck in. very Angry on your behalf. i would make a big show now of how great the picture(s) are.

bb3 such a shame for k. hopefully he will start to improve soon. my half tunisian friends daughter had glue ear but it never got really bad (i think some do and some dont) she use to call herself nali and we never knew why until she was diagnosed. she is actually called nadia.
good luck to him. i would be very tempted to ring the nursery up or write a letter and give them an earful. no pun intented. Grin

Jnice · 13/03/2012 08:21

Thank you ladies Smile

DH is great with practical help. Does loads. Not so good with feelings or empathy which I really need right now. He is tired too though.

L has now been awake for 2 hours (its 1.20am here. I have been barfed on and changed 3 times. It all went wrong with a far to exciting nappy change Sad

Jnice · 13/03/2012 08:27

Bb I hope now that you know this your ds's hearing can improve soon. You must have been so frustrated. Well done for stamping your feet!

FuzzzyDuck · 13/03/2012 09:48

bb3 that's great that the have finally diagnosed ds. What's the next steps? I don't really know much about glue ear but is it treatable?
lp good luck for your walk today!!

Well, S slept all night which I wasn't expecting. I gave her bottle at 11ish (I think?!) but she had only a few oz. woke at 7am so made her milk and changed while waiting on it cooling. Nappy was very smelly of wee Sad. She did drink full 7oz then cuddled up and fell asleep again till just before 9am. Has just had some of her cereal and seems in a good mood! Fingers crossed it was just a 24 hr bug. No real plans here for today. Was hoping to get out to shops for mothers day card/gift for my mum. Will see how S is over next few hours. Maybe some fresh air and walk in the buggy will do us both good Smile

Oh and her new fav things are sitting in highchair watching the washing machine go round and lids from empty jars Grin

Scheherezade · 13/03/2012 13:50

Just a quick one- how is S today fuzzzy ?

Great news bb3 have they recommended any treatments, grommets or anything?

Don't beat yourself up Jnice its normal to not have enough time for both kids, there is only one of you!

Going back to the mother & baby unit today. Need to pack! And we just bought loads of food in :(

FuzzzyDuck · 13/03/2012 14:23

sch hope your ok Sad

MamaMaiasaura · 13/03/2012 15:22

Another here for feeling guilty for older dc. I'm being a crap mummy as when I feed j I let Samuel play on other iPhone and become an obsession now for him.

bb3 glad you got some answers for your ds, is he being referred for speech therapy now?

scheh hope you are ok. Are they wanting to keep you long or quick respite?

Think J coming down with same bug as Samuel. Full of snot and coughing. Won't settle unless with me so quite tired. She's so active tho, every time she's down she's rolling on front and wriggling like a worm. Then she moans as can't flip back. She's all sitting for longer without falling but slumps foward Grin

Big first here for us was a proper belly laugh at weekend when she was in her bouncer. Se sounded just like her brothers

MamaMaiasaura · 13/03/2012 15:24

fuzzy sorry I missed S was poorly. Hpw is he now? X

Jnice · 13/03/2012 15:28

scheh I hope you are ok hon, hang on in there x

Jnice · 13/03/2012 15:30

fuzzy glad that S seems better Smile

I'm feeling really dozy today. L was awake for 2.5 hrs in the night with cycles of hunger, reflux pain and spitting up, clothes changes etc. please grow out of this soon!

Jnice · 13/03/2012 15:33

Sorry for multiple posts, trying (badly) to catch up!

mama my 4 year old is obsessed with angry birds. He doesn't get it often but once he has something like that or wii he will go on for weeks. Sometimes we have to do these things!

My oldest left for ski camp with DH before I got up so not even a hug yet Sad I hope he saw his lovely salmon picture up in the kitchen.

BB3 · 13/03/2012 15:35

Scheh are you ok? Hang in there lovely, it will get easier xx

It's all kind of on hold until next week as the report takes a week to get through to the GP and S&L and then we need to push for a referral to ENT so we can get a treatment plan in progress. It's likely to be grommets first (couple of tries at this) then possible operation.

MamaMaiasaura · 13/03/2012 15:41

jnice Samuel loves angry birds and aqueduct. Poor you with bad night. Another unsettled one here and the poo everywhere at 6am

BB3 · 13/03/2012 15:41

Mama - he's already had his first S&L session. It was at this point I demanded a hearing test as she was about 12 (sorry that's really patronising and I don't mean it badly!), gave me a bunch of standard notes that you can get on the internet and then basically said everything his old crappy nursery had said to her but in a different way so she didn't give me much hope. And we don't see her again for three months.

Jnice · 13/03/2012 16:02

mama poo everywhere Sad I shall stop moaning about spit up now!

FuzzzyDuck · 13/03/2012 16:51

mama Grin for the belly laugh!! I love when baby's do it. We've not quite got one yet, she try's so hard not to proper laugh! One day she will let it all out!! Yeah S had a wee 24 hr bug I think. Was very sicky yesterday afternoon followed by a few awful nappies!! Really just slept from 3pm til 9am this morning but seems much better today Smile

We got out and headed into Glasgow for a wander. Got S a few lovely things for her holidays Grin. Really loving the clothes 'blue zoo' from debenhams!! Got her a few little dresses. They had some gorgeous ones in Ted Baker too but actually had to pull myself away from them

Hope everyones havin a good day Smile

MamaMaiasaura · 13/03/2012 19:31

fuzzy glad S is feeling better. So horrid to see them sick as feel helpless. I'm going to have to pop to debehams I think to have a mooch. Next has some lovely sets in too. J only proper laughed the once, kind of slipped out. I did have to work for it! Lol

bb3 her name didn't begin with S did it? Ours was about 12 too I reckon (I'm
Getting old Grin) our next s&l in 3 months too, waiting on paedetrician appt.

jnice please moan away Wink. I was only moaning cos dh scarpered to work and I had to clean up poo with wriggly J and ds2 wanting to clamber on me and ds1 sorting himself for school. Twas madhouse.

Anyone else enjoying that the babies are more robust? Loving all the playing and raspberries. She loves being upside down Grin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 13/03/2012 19:40

fuzzy I'm now on shopping strike! I had to take one of C's T shirts back for a bigger size and wound up spending £40 on a jacket for him Shock i am now banned from all baby boutiques!!

Blue zoo stuff is great and washes/lasts well too!

FuzzzyDuck · 13/03/2012 19:40

What a mad hour!! We stayed at my nuns for dinner then headed home. S hasn't had proper bath in a few days so I thought we would have a nice bubble bath together. Get home, put S in changing mat in room with no nappy/clothes on while I run bath and get pjs sorted. Go back in 2 mins later and she was covered in poo!!!! Went closer and it was all over and in her mouth Shock!! Picked her up and dunked her in bath as quick as I could to get it all washed off. Little bugger was smiling and laughing the whole time. Called nhs24 just to be safe, but they said that poo isn't actually poisonous!! So she's now having her milk then is off to bed. The living room now stinks and the changing mat and towel are rather disgusting. Can relate to your incidents now bb3 and sassy Blush

FuzzzyDuck · 13/03/2012 19:40

My nuns??! My mums!! Grin

FuzzzyDuck · 13/03/2012 19:41

ed I no longer shop for myself, it's all on S Blush

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 13/03/2012 19:45

Yep me too! I will have to start again soon though I stopped shopping for myself when I had C and 3 years on I have NOTHING to wear! However I'm hoping to hold out till around June by which point I should have reached target weight FX.
